The [GOOD] legacy you left behind is what people will remember you for NOT the wealth & power you amassed.
Alhaji Umar Musa Yar'Adua was also a Northerner & many speak good about him after his death.
But for Abba Kyari & Isa Funtua, I can't tell.
Exactly.

Hahaha, like we don't see enough aggression here already cheesy When you see the frustration with which some people comment, you wonder how hard life is, lol.

You did a good job as the analysis, thanks for your contribution.

Let's wait to read how it pans out eventually, I only hope that the buyer gets refunded.

How is your day going?
Would be interesting to see how the situation turns out. Thanks, day going well, trust yours is too.

cc: tot,

What do you think about the topic under discussion?
I no be lawyer oh cheesy but this seems related to Consumer rights.

https://www.mondaq.com/Nigeria/Consumer-Protection/877838/The-Rights-Of-A-Consumer-Under-The-Federal-Competition-And-Consumer-Protection-Act-Of-Nigeria

Right to reject goods:
A consumer has the right to reject goods in the following instances:-
- Where the goods are intended to satisfy a particular purpose which is communicated to the supplier and upon delivery, the goods are not fit for that purpose.
- Where the consumer did not have the opportunity of examining the goods before purchase for example e-commerce and upon delivery the goods do not match the sample and/or description or they do not meet up to the quality and type envisaged in the sales agreement.
- Where the goods are defective and unsafe.
Where a consumer returns goods in any of these circumstances the consumer is entitled to a full refund of money paid for the goods.

The only issue though is that it seems the buyer is the one who made a wrong assumption, and secondly the item was returned in a 'damaged' condition, so not sure how that would impact the factors above.

Have you been to Banjul before? I have been to Banjul. The comments here about a private beach resort developed by multinational companies are out of envy. There are many of such beach resorts in Lagos unknown to people. You are inviting those who spent millions or thousands of dollars to buy yachts and built houses with jetties to come to game reserves built with FG and State government money. Are they not drunkards?

This is not a discussion about tourism development in Nigeria, but an attack against Lagos, the City that feeds them.
Wow.
You really need to calm down rather than being so emotional. Still don't understand how the comments on this thread translate to envy, unless perhaps there are specific people here that you have issues with, then might be best to thrash it out with them than carrying it around. Not healthy at all.

I don't get how some warped thinking people hate their country so much, but they can not do or contribute anything to make it better, all they do is cry, moan, yell, criticize and rant endlessly.

Sad that they call these hateful and lazy Nigerian youths the leaders of tomorrow when in fact they are to apathetic to lead anything beyond internet noise and rants.
What is biting you this guy? What exactly is wrong with you? You are the one ranting all over the thread. Respect this girl's memory and keep your *defend govt at any cost* work to the side for once. Haba.

I didn't know I was attacking the president instead of expressing condolence.

It's not by force to comment.
It's clearly not by force to comment. It is also clearly everyone's right to express their view - whether you agree with it or not. Not everyone can support the president, that is the reality, so stop hounding people who don't.

As young as she was, she made her mark and will always remain in the history of Nigeria as the very FIRST female helicopter combat pilot. RIP Tolulope.

This is not a presidential attack thread, no need to attack the President and divert attention away from the brave young and patriotic Nigerian.

Don't be crude and tacky, express your condolence and move on.
Why not do the same thing you are advising him to do?

professorPABX:
A single question could lead to hours of tutorial. If somebody lives in a house built by the oceans and you ask where is the ocean or oceans, it is important you start a tutorial to teach him lesson.

Going to Cotonou from Nigeria, you see a long stretch of beach with coconut trees on the left .This beach starts from Lagos.

Manhattan Beach in California does not come the way it is from heaven, it was developed with billions of dollars. This is the most expensive beach in US.

I was at Calabar when Duke was governor for almost one year shuttling Obudu ranch and Tinapa on projects. I know the amount of investment and commitment by Duke that went into Obudu ranch. Lagos has not taken those beaches as projects or invested on them. They are just there. Any private investor that invested there should be appreciated.

The lesson of Manhattan, Obudu ranch and Lagos waterfront and beaches is that natural endowment must be developed and managed to meet a predetermined purpose.

The natural endowment of Lagos - Islands, Peninsula, Beaches and flat land are yet to be fully developed because of Nigeria which Lagos carries. In future, they would be developed.
All you've explained does not negate the comments of others on this thread pointing out that Nigeria's tourism standards is below par compared to other countries (including African countries like the Gambia). All you have done is to simply explain WHY but the other commenters' points stand and have nothing to do with envy as you were inferring. Let's learn to take constructive criticism rather than becoming defensive.

Beach front is there. Lagos has beachfronts up to Badagry and Seme. The beach front continues to Cotonou. You find lots of coconut trees there. Development of waterfronts for recreation needs development. One thing is Islands with Atlantic Ocean and Lagoon.

People are just talking based on envy. The multinationals that developed the resort and those expensive yacht owners are not complaining.

In future when illegal immigrants leave and Lagos population reduces, the Lagos beaches can be developed.
Just a single line comment, yet your response has gone from 0 to 100 in a sec, inferring all sorts. You better take it easy.

I'm not clear on your point.

Are you trying to imply that because this article was written sometime over 6 yrs(but not more than 10yrs) ago that the actions that inspired it have somehow evaporated? So therefore it should be classified as now historical?

So you are implying that Nigerian men have stopped killing their wives now so the article is archaic?
Going by your logic, Nigerian men are still killing their nurse wives in the US in 2020 right? Okay, then present the 2020 link for this.

Why should a 2014 article be posted as if it's 2020? If you want to go back in time, you are free to do so. The rest of us don't have to.

Let's stop pushing this false narrative.

1. The David Ochola story is a Kenyan story that happened in Germany (allegedly). Story might be totally made up as I can't see a single news source with the actual crime. Every single story in this write up was lifted from this Kenyan blog with some of the names changed. Please understand that plagiarism is illegal. See a link to the 2014 story. https://mkenyaujerumani.de/2014/02/12/of-diasporan-men-who-import-wives-from-villages-in-africa/

2. The people who did a skit or small drama with the 911 call have come out to say that it wasn't a real call but they were trying to build awareness of what they feel is happening in the US. I am yet to uncover this so called true life story of Azuibuike and his wife.

Every year, this same topic will come out on Nairaland and be pushed to the front page. It's annoying really.
It's more than annoying.

What is the point of "re-enacting" (as the OP calls it) an incident that took place in 2014 and putting it on front page in 2020. I don't understand what the mods on this NL are doing honestly.
