Politics › Re: Kpofire: RVSG Shuts Down Illegal Refinery. Arrests Policemen & NSCDC Officials by Tpharell: 2:22pm On Jan 16, 2022 |
Cantonese: When they are unlicensed they are illegal. Let’s call a spade a spade in this matter.
Do you know that there are what they call Modular refineries now in this country? These are mini refineries licensed by the government. The fact here in this matter is that certain greedy persons in those areas claim that oil belong to them and they can actually do what they like. How many people are employed? The police and Nscdc personnel guarding those places are already employed people, yet they make illegal income guarding those places.
They are NOT local refineries and they are not even refineries. Refineries have standard operating procedures and one of them is how to manage the environment. These greedy people do not care about the environment and that’s a major problem. No responsible government will sit back and watch certain persons continually pollute the environment in addition to what they presently experience from the legitimate organizations and keep quiet.
Governor Wike must be commended for this action. Hopefully these illegal refineries are shut down before the people begin to suffer cancer and other dangerous health related matters.
Cheers. Thank you for the write up, even though you failed to address the critical issue of breaking pipes to steal crude. Those calling for them to be licensed failed to realise that those people have no access to crude except stealing. And if crude is sold to them they cant even break even due to the inefficient and incomplete conversion process. |

Sandralight: There are actually some sites that dont bother with OTP, like netflix just put your card details and voila you have paid, they dont send otp to the person.
I have done some transactions in some foreign site that dont require OTP. So if your atm get lost or stolen, call the bank to block it because if you dont your money is gone What about the four digit sacret pin of the atm card? |

engrzico: OP According to your statement, your brother lost his ATM when he was at home, and the unauthorized transaction occured when he came back home. The perpetrator ofthis act is likely within.
Good day, everyone. I lost my brother's Polaris bank ATM Card last month. He didn't bother to go and block it in the bank, and went for his military service in Borno state.
He came back this month and this afternoon, he received debit alerts on his phone, as a result of the lost ATM card. When I came home this evening and he showed me the alerts, I discovered that prior to the debit alert, he had received message requesting for OTP five times. I was dumbfounded and till now I can't grasp how it happened. Most likely scenario. Someone very close had access to that phone and retrieved the otp to complete the transactions, which explains why there was no transaction while he was far away on duty. Someone who knows the atm card pin |

Reference: I may be entirely wrong. But why do I have this feeling that this post is just a fishing expedition for information about loopholes in various systems. Sometimes the knowledge and experiences shared in some conversations will end up hurting more people than intended. Its a double edged sword. The best way to respond will be to omit specific brand names and institutions and just be generic with information. You are perfectly right as i can already see some people are asking for specific websites. Truly a double-edged sword! |

Every ATM card has a secret four digit pin required for transactions, and not inscribed on the card as the other details (except the card owner foolishly choses to do so themselves). Is it possible to bypass that? |
Business › Re: Funds In My Brother's Bank Account Was Wiped Off by Tpharell: 12:47pm On Jan 15, 2022 |
Femeto: They probably guessed the OTP for the transaction or used AI to generate the code. The money is gone. Guessing the six or eight digits OTP successfully is highly improbable, if not impossible. But what about the four digit secret pin required for transactions on that card? Can that be bypassed? |

Its all the more clearer why the twitter ban was lifted just on the 'eve' of electioneering. The government of the day does not want the opposition to have a headstart going into 2023 elections considering they defied the ban and remained active on twitter. The incumbent government understands what many who will shout "there is no polling booth on social media" cannot comprehend. |
Slow and steady we will get to the nation of our dreams
It must be deliberate delusion for anyone to think that Nigeria will "slow and steady" become the nation of "our dreams". This is not about PDP or APC, Buhari, Atiku, Tinubu, Osinbanjo or Peter Obi, but every objective discerning mind can see that there is hardly any future to project in 15-20 years ahead. The elites and political/ruling class are well aware of this. Wake up and read the writing on the wall! |

babyfaceafrica: Public opinion don't decide who wins election. It is those with PVC who are likely to collect bread, kerosene and 500 naira to vote. All the English we have been speaking on twitter and Facebook, how many people vote? You have displayed the disingenuous and foolhardy attitude I earlier referred to, which the government refused to fall prey to like yourself |

babyfaceafrica: Twitter doesn't decides election.. Many people who vote aren't on social media!. You think bubu got elected based on social media? Its true that 'there is no polling booth on social media', but it will be highly disingenuous and foolhardy for anyone to play down its role in influencing public opinion. If you don't recognize that, the incumbent government does. They cannot afford to give the opposition party a head start going into national election, hence the unbanning on the 'eve of elections'. |

agentarcher: Anything that works for them. But I don't get why some people here are just nagging about this move. You don't live in Kaduna but you are angry about this move. Why not focus on the problems of your state and leave the people of Kaduna to debate whether this move is right for them? Because other states including where i reside will toil for 5 days and what comes from there will be shared at the center with kaduna which only brings 4 days of work. Hope this curbs some of the ignorance |

fjjc: How does this become islamization of Nigeria? Declaring Friday a free working days is not anyway affect anything in people life but add more value to people lives. More more to those that engage in recreational and tourism business. And enough rest from 'hussling and busling'. In a country with next to zero productivity, staggering unemployment and record poverty levels? Even your reasoning is unproductive, please! |
Politics › Re: Kaduna Removes Friday As A Working Day To Enable Workers Do Other Things by Tpharell: 8:40am On Jan 11, 2022 |
teepain: This is the reason why people are clamouring for fiscal federalism - let each state control whatever they generate and pay a percentage to the FG.
Not this one that some states would be productive for 4 days and some will be productive for 5 or more days and the FG would now share (allocate) funds to them regardless of their respective productivities.
As soon as there is fiscal federalism, any state that wishes can implement 2 working days per week. Sound reasoning there |
