@quotasyste

When I say You re a bloody bigot, u say no. Listen to yourself - Yorubas are cowards. How on God's earth are the Igbos more courageous than the Yorubas, by fighting a senseless war and destroying everything their progenitors worked hard for?

Look my friend a coward in this time and age is one that refuses to dialogue and refuses to see things from a different perceptive. And if am to go by this u re the worst coward have come across in my entire life. Look at the way the Yorubas handled the June 12 saga, what more can be more courageous than that. The benefits of that courageous and decisive action is still being reaped by millions of them. Think of what would have happened if they had declared war on the rest of the country.

"Most times we stand in the house of the coward (wise) and point at the ruins of the house of a courageous (foolish) man"  - IGBO Proverb

Think my dear.
Its visible to even the blind talkless all normal people, that Quotasystem has always had a screw loose.

Never a time when he was never cuckoo. Expecting any sane argument from him is like seeing a river in the sahara. Mirages like him lead many people to their deaths.

I am happy some reasonable heads are within this MEND group. Niger Delta ministry my arrss. Did we start today to see such? I pity any Igbo soldier that will join this hausa/fulanis in this injustices against our neighbors. They know nothing but only to kill.
If only the Ijaws will have ONLY leaders like Chief James Otobo who understand the mentality of this hausas. What they are doing to the Ijaws and to an extent, the rest of nigerians is sanctioned by their koran, so it's a no biggie for them. Just read the provocative comments of tpia, one of their sons to understand what i am saying here. All he want is to keep the oil flowing no matter how it is achieved. It's also not a suprise that some yorubas are supporting this injustice as you can also notice in this forum because they also benefit from it. Only those who are afraid to live on their own will succumb to the threats of these illiterate and parasitic people. UP MEND!!!
no, i never said south east should not ask for state, what i said is that the reason they are advancing for the creation of state is wrong. you can not say create state based on the fact other people zone have 6 state, but you can say create state because of over population. I EVEN SAID, IF ONITSHA IS PART OF ADADA it is possible to lay claim to state creation.

If adada is from onitsha to nnewi, ihiala, igbo ukwu  upto orlu,  then they have a reason to lay claim to state, using abia state as a comparing state. this area is more populated than abia state or ebonyi or bayelsa state. but the moment you do that, anambra state  and imo state would have lost most of its population to adada state. And anambra and imo state would not have any population to be called  a state. THIS IS THE MOST DENSE AREA IN IGBOLAND. The governor of anambra or imo state . would be like a local govt chairman is that what you want. Just very few people would remain in imo  and anambra state is that what you want to do.
You're obviously not keeping up with current events.

Igboezuo State is what's being considered now, not necessarily Adada state.

Create Igboezuo State, CRC Urged

As the National Assembly  prepares to reconsider the issue of constitution amendment, a group, the Igboezuo State Movement is currently canvassing for the creation of Igboezuo State out of the South-east geo-political zone.
The name 'Igboezuo' signifies all Igbo States coming together by carving out some parts of each state to form the proposed state which would have its capital at Okigwe.

Coordinator of the State movement, Chief Okey Ikoro , who disclosed this to newsmen in Owerri , said " we are looking at a state that will involve some prominent leaders of Igbo and not a state with a single leader trying to be an overlord unto the rest of the people of the state. "

According to him, "Igboezuo is a union of all the five Eastern States out of which 16 local government areas are extracted to create the new state. The State will be bounded in the North by Enugu State, in the West by Anambra State, in the East by Ebonyi State and in the South by Imo and Abia States."

In a four-page document signed by Ikoro (Imo) and a co-Coordinator, Mazi Chris Abara Ezeiyiaku from Ebonyi State respectively, the composition of the proposed State is drawn as follows: Anambra State (Orumba North LGA and Orumba South LGA); Enugu State (Awgu and Aninri LGAs); and Ebonyi State (Ivo and Ohaozara LGAs).

The rest are from Abia State (Isuikwuato and Umunnochi LGAs), and Imo State (Okigwe, Onuimo, Ideato North, Ideato South, Isiala Mbano, Ehime Mbano, Ihitte/Uboma and Obowo Local Government Areas.

Ikoro noted that the proposed Igboezuo State embraces those designated councils at the confluence of the five Eastern States, thus giving it a central and unique position among the states, adding that it is one of the homogenous, monocultural and unilinguistic with available demographic statistics of a population of about three million people.

He further stated that the viability of the proposed state was very concrete, as it is endowed with very fertile land suitable for large scale agriculture as rice and root crops are extensively produced from almost all the parts of the state, including oil palm production, cashew, cocoa and rubber.

The group, however, appealed to the National Assembly to do justice to the South east by considering for creation the Igboezuo State as a unifying factor for the Igbo.

anyway, @ topic: Nigeria has too many states as it is. Every village of 100 people doesnt need to become a state.

no wonder you guys are running helter skelter and trying to bluff your way out of a tight corner. If Nigeria1 is the kind of analyst you're relying on, then better move to Cameroun as part of bakassi. Nigeria1 wey dey tell you say most of the oilfields you're fighting about, actually belong to the Yoruba side?

Ibime:
Market utility is inversely proportional to political volatility. . . . lol.
abeg quit fooling yourself over this oil thing. grin

Gas prices have risen and risen yet the world hasnt fallen apart.

The most that can happen is the Republicans get replaced by Democrats and so on. How many Nigerians have you seen returning home because they couldnt afford gas prices or cost of living abroad due to the attacks by Niger Delta militants on oil installations in Nigeria?

People are buying hybrid cars in record numbers, many overseas companies are packing up and returning to the US or their home countries, and China is taking advantage of the whole situation to colonize Africa. So who exactly is the winner or loser here? Gray area, I should think.

What is needed are experts in aerial photography to track the movements of people in the area.

That way more will be revealed and positions captured with minimal collateral damage if possible.

lol. . . .why should I respond?. . . I see this militancy thing gores your ox well well. . . . don't worry, when foreigners hear that someone got kidnapped in Nigeria, all they will say is "Those Nigerians need to get their shit together". . . .the same way we Ijaws say "Those Nigerians need to get their shit together". . . . anyway, I have kept mum on this subject because I am waiting to see who claims responsibility for the kidnapping. . . . just remember that market utility is indirectly proportional to political volatility. . . . so until we find a political solution to this thing, expect more fluctuations in the price of bitumen.   wink
sweetie, this isnt about the price of bitumen- this is about Mpele calling your bluff for kidnapping his countrymen.

That response of yours is too watery nah- I expect more spunk and fire from you. Or could it be that your mouth is only bigger when talking to Nigerians, but you bow, prostrate and salaam when interacting with non-Nigerians?

Is that bravery or cowardice of the highest order?

When even a fop like Mpele commands your subservience ( are you dark skinned maybe, and feel he's better than you because of his skin color?), then we know you guys are really in trouble.

Sorry, I think you mean to say freedom fighters. Please correct yourself sharp sharp. cool

I have only professed support for MEND, not 'Ironmonger' or 'Double Tragedy' grin grin grin

Based on your assessment, Toussaint L'Ouverture, Francis Ona, Agim Ceku, Robert the Bruce and Joe Slovo are tribalists. No, I didn't make them up. Google it.

I aint a tribalist. . . I'm a survivalist. The only tribalists are those who would deny my people equity and justice.

Anyway, I didn't know that Nairaland is handing out awards. Please Mr Seun, send me my certificate sharp sharp so it can take pride of place on my living room wall. cool

By far, the best political analyst on Nairaland is Willy Willy. The young man impressed me so much when he uttered those famous words "Phock the parasites!" cool

Long live Asari-Dokubo, Victor Ben and MEND!
Why dont you militants call yourselves teddy bears while you're at it. Freedom fighters who are afraid to show their faces, by the way? Seems to me they want to be able to blend in quietly with normal society, at some point in time. If you're so brave why cant you show your face and let the world see you.  Something's fishy here, no pun intended. grin

All those names you quoted only show your immaturity. Your posts also show this by the way. You have a rather simplistic mindset and worldview.  Comparing a bunch of marauding militants to someone like Toussaint who was fighting for his freedom from forced and actual slavery, is so typical of some internet pseudo moralists who just lump names together to show they heard them somewhere. Not understanding the actual context and purpose for which these people fought. Not to mention given the state of haiti today, I'm surprised you're so quick to use Toussaint as a front for your shortsightedness.

Willy willy must be your muse and mentor. What a joke. grin grin Detribalized indeed. grin grin
PoliticsRe: Gunmen Kidnap Two South Africans In Nigeria Oil Region by tpia: 6:38am On Sep 13, 2008
you see how some bigmouth Nigerians no fit open mouth when other countries are talking yet they turn to lions and warriors if its Nigerians they're talking to.

I don't see Ibime or any other militant supporter on this thread, in spite of the useless noise empty Mpele is making here.

@ topic: do south Africans have two heads or why don't other nationalities also open threads on Nairaland when their countrymen are kidnapped. Empty vessels make the most noise.

Seriously, I think these south Africans here need a subforum of their own- they obviously have no idea how to create one, hence their constant presence on Nigerian websites, and the few south Africans forums obviously have angry whites determined to chase out and attack any south African black or colored who dares show his face. So Mpele is clearly a persona non grata there.

Short form of the name Isaac or Dwight. "I Like Ike" was the famous presidential campaign slogan for Dwight D. Eisenhower. Ike Turner, musician. Ike Barinholtz, actor/comedian.

next we'll be hearing anyone with the names Lola or Akin is always Yoruba.

Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP was founded in 1945 by Robert Strauss and Richard Gump. The firm now numbers more than 1,000 attorneys and advisors in 14 offices in the United States, Europe and Asia.
W. Todd Akin (born July 5, 1947), American politician, has been a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives since 2001, representing Missouri's 2nd congressional district

@ topic: hurricanes/cyclone winds normally originate in the the tropics/equator and blow across the ocean to the western hemisphere. So barring unforeseen circumstances or human interference, it would be very unusual for an intense hurricane to hit Lagos or Nigeria's coastal region. So far there's been nothing of the sort in recorded history, as far as I know.

Just wondering, which of this guys should get the award of the best political analyst on Nairaland

Nigeria1 - for his numerous satelite pictures
Deepzone - for her controversial posts
McUsman - for being a strong voice for the North
Davidlyn - for his insightful contributions
Ibime - for his detribalized contributions
Quotasystem - for constantly reminding us of the evils being perpetuated against the East
this list must be tongue in cheek or else an attempt to curry favor with some people for whatever reason.

97% of the people mentioned are the exact opposite of the thread title.

Ibime is an open supporter of Ijaw Niger Delta militants. In what way is he detribalized?

Quotasystem is using fake psychiatric drugs which are failing to control his mental problem.  What is he saying here that hasnt been said in a more civilized manner before?

McUsman is a joke.

Deepzone unfortunately has days when she's so tribalistic its amazing. There are times when I wonder if she's Yoruba or another tribe pretending to be Yoruba. There's a non-Yoruba character on another website who bears a strong resemblance to her/him. I'm still wondering about this.

Nigeria1 is on an interesting track but he lets tribalism color his thinking. If he could learn to process things in a scientific and objective manner, that would be good. However, na so Nigerians dey do. Its the Nigerian nature to be tribal.

Someone always opens these kinds of threads every once in a while to pay homage to their favorite bigots.

https://img178.imageshack.us/img178/1238/okapigq8.jpg

Okapi

You gaze warily at the camera
Do you know
What it is?
A window to the outside world
A world curious to know you

Millions waiting
To see you
The real you
Fifty years of solitude
Are ended!

Now we see you
In your shy glory
So you’re very real
Even though your relatives
Are scattered
In distant lands
Diluted versions
Of the myth

Now tamed
Not mysterious
Like you

A zebra, a horse and an antelope
All mixed together
As one Okapi.
Keep looking,
With your subtly gentle but fierce
No, intelligent gaze
Into the world
Always longing to know you.
