Christianity EtcRe: •Sun-day Worship, A Christianized Form Of Sun Worship Cult by tpia1:
Everything in the world has pagan origins in one form or another.

However, originally, God himself instituted the basic code before adam's fall, and some after.

For example, the days and seasons were started by God then corrupted by men.

The first clothes were made by God as a result of adam's sin.

That is also why we are told to give thanks for food we eat.

tonychristopher: that's why we are in this mess...your tribe respects so much that it looks like stupidity...why should u call him daddy,is he your father ...bullllshittt
Which tribe is the op?

Whatever she decides to call her pastor, or whatever she is told to call her pastor, is not my concern.

Her open and vapid attack on the body of Christ is.

She cannot call herself a Christian and at the same time lead wolves to attack fellow Christians. She might as well call herself an atheist or unbeliever and stop pretending.

Since blood is there.
Christianity EtcRe: Jesus Was Born In October’ by tpia1: 7:39am On Dec 24, 2013
Both christians and non christians were persecuted in bible examples, at least in the old testament.

The baker wasn't described as religious/christian in genesis. However, it is not certain if he was being persecuted or if he was actually guilty of what he was accused of.

In olden times, birthdays were celebrated mostly by rulers and monarchs, not the common people.
Christianity EtcRe: What The Bible Say About Sports! by tpia1:
As with most other things, sport in itself doesn't necessarily have to be seen as anti - christian.

Context needs to be considered.
Christianity EtcRe: What Does The Bible Say About Christmas? by tpia1: 7:16am On Dec 24, 2013
There are very few things in this world which do not have a pagan or non christian origin, if we really want to analyze stuff.

However, in the case of christian holidays, it is still not sure if non christians are the ones taking over christian celebrations or the other way round.
Christianity EtcRe: What Does The Bible Say About Christmas? by tpia1: 6:12am On Dec 24, 2013
If you are with people who feel strongly about celebrating christmas, you can forgo it for their sake, its not mandatory per se and the bible does mention in such instances, we are to bear with one another.

Assuming for example, everybody in your vicinity does not observe christmas and consider it a pagan festival, it would be wiser to abstain for the meantime.

specialguest: Dear Lord please give that bitter woman on this thread a man that can look beyond her leaking mouth and marry her so she can reduce her many frustrations that are evident by the kind of envious stuff she writes. Amen

And you Lady, watch your mouth. If you have issues with me deal with it, but stop over emphasising/obsessing about my fiance and in laws. You are nothing but a trouble shooter and an unrepentant sadist! Isn't it obvious that you are not welcomed here with the negative energy you exude?

Depart from me!
See the irony.

You open threads attacking people anyhow but you still do not see yourself as a sadist, witch and troubleshooter?

So you like criticizing others but can't stand the same for yourself.

Madam, you will not abuse the priviledge of posting on nl, the fact that you weren't banned despite your uncouthness and evil intention for starting this thread, does not mean you will go scot free.

If you did not learn the basics of communication and human interaction while growing up, you will learn it here.

Thank me later.

People have dropped good advice for you on how you should curtail your rascality when relating with others, but of course its your partners in crime and fellow loudmouths you prefer to tout, we shall see!

Somebody should not mention your so called fiance and in laws, did you not remember you had those when you started a thread to insult others because you have a fiance? As you are boiling with rage every so often, aren't those the ones you will rage at given your insolent and arrogant nature.

So blame yourself for not controlling your mouth, don't blame others who are hearing what you say.
Christianity EtcRe: The 'Daddy-Mummy Syndrome' In Nigerian Churches by tpia1: 8:38pm On Dec 23, 2013
lezz: . The humility, meekness and responsibility found in early desciples and evangelist are no more. If members of a church volunteers to refer to their pastors, overseers as daddy, then it's a different matter. But if a pastor or his wife insists on being called daddy, then it's a tell tale signs of something being wrong. Being called pastor is enough respect. Daddy is even also a circular term of address to elderly people. This isn't d early church where the bible and Jesus our Lord is as strange as an properties of Jupiter. This is 2013 where a considerable part of people are familiar and born with their bibles. It should be a fellowship gathering more or less.
The op put herself in the wrong by the way she reacted to whatever she was yapping about. Its not my concern whatever any church decides to call themselves by. Just address people the way they ask you to address them, in cases of ambiguity, eod.

I wonder what she'll do to the prospective mother in law if the lady says something she doesn't like.

People should check who they are marrying if they do not want to marry what will destroy them.

ketoprofen: so in Yoruba culture, saying pastor abcd is not enuf?
The story is one sided, as such the op is nothing more than a slanderer who is engaging in libel.

In yoruba culture, the way you relate with others speaks volumes about the type of person you are.

If I was the only one banned on this thread ( till christmas), then I have nothing to say until we see wetin una dauda has 'da'.
Christianity EtcRe: “christmas Is A Pagan Celebration” by tpia1: 4:42pm On Dec 23, 2013
The fact is there is no way you can prevent pagans or anybody, attaching whatever interpretation they want, to christian holidays.

As a christian, your choice remains you either stop celebrating the occasion or you can use it as an opportunity to reach out to the unchurched ( or pagan churchgoers).

Currently, christmas isn't celebrated by christians alone but the real meaning of the season is what christians should focus on

In any case, if christmas is not celebrated then people would just move their festivities to the end of the year.

the op is confused and didnt write the script well.

he assumes most nlers would be too lazy to notice the difference between priest and pastor.

bottom line is the buzzwords are tithe, priest [to be read as pastor] and church, he hopes posters will ignore the questionable script and focus on those.

it is like some ppl are just looking for names but they are neglecting the bolded above, thanks again.
did you use the assistance of facebook in compiling your list?

i have my reasons for asking.

who exactly made this list?

it shows a lot of detail even if selective, i doubt its just random like that.
CultureRe: Lists Of Yoruba Names And Their English Meaning. by tpia1: 10:23pm On Nov 09, 2013
amusan yetunde :
There's no way d op can include all names especially surnames ( traditional names). He is just trying to tell us Yoruba names have sensible meanings and cultural back ground..
Thanks for mentioning my surname anyway.
i doubt thats the reason for the compilation.

on amusan, i actually meant to type amosun, i was just mentioning the names of yoruba leaders offhand.

amusan was a typo, sorry.

but its still a yoruba name, obviously.

the op did skip many basic yoruba names, not sure why she needs a list anyway.
