FamilyRe: Ladies, What Values Are You Adding? by tpia5: 3:58am On Aug 21, 2013
OP Said; Try to add value to a man's life, if you find him worthy to be with I agree but also

Men; Try to add value to a woman's life, if you find her worthy to be with
must everything be opposite-gender/sex oriented?

whats wrong with adding value to a person's life irrespective of their gender.

pDude: Not at all shocked

I am just surprised that anyone will sell on railway lines. That's like selling on subway train lines.
they're not supposed to, customers have to avoid encouraging it also.
All I am saying is that they can make the stores look like...Walmart, for example
they can standardize the markets to ensure each seller has a raised stall [although i wonder where that would leave the petty traders who cant afford one], but i dont know if walmart can be the standard, since this is nigeria, not overseas.
FamilyRe: Why Are Unmarried Single Women So Bitter And Frustrated ? by tpia5: 3:45am On Aug 21, 2013
Onyinyechimara: Last year I went to one MDs office and the secretary gave me hell...........I mean hell. I couldn't even make any headway and I had to return and let my boss see to it instead. Lo and behold this year they sent me to that same office and I was dreading it and I was pleasantly surprised when the woman welcomed me with open arms and even dashed me smile untop. That was when I noticed her marital glow and of course the wedding band on her finger.
maybe she just found out she was pregnant in addition to the marital news?

funny thread.

FoodRe: Recipe For Over-ripe Plantain by tpia5: 1:00am On Aug 21, 2013
Plantains can be used for cooking at any stage of ripeness, and very ripe plantain can be eaten raw. As the plantain ripens, it becomes sweeter and its color changes from green to yellow to black, just like bananas. Green plantains are firm and starchy, and resemble potatoes in flavor. Yellow plantains are softer and starchy, but sweet. Extremely ripe plantains have softer, deep yellow pulp that is much sweeter than the earlier stages of ripeness.

Plantains in the yellow to black stages can be used in sweet dishes. Steam-cooked plantains are considered a nutritious food for infants and the elderly. A ripe plantain is used as food for infants at weaning; it is mashed with a pinch of salt and is believed to be more easily digestible than ripe banana

No it is very clean.

Is that onions between railway lines? shocked
are the onions dirty, or is your grouse that they're on the ground?

two different things entirely, and when Fashola clears the street traders you folks are the same ones who will start complaining.

speedyboi: And they start the blaming again!
The truth of the matter is...Nigerians are not civilized!
there's nothing to blame.

trash heaps on the outskirts of the market or anywhere, will make it look dirty.

its another thing altogether to claim the market is dirty- do you buy dirty things from them?
FoodRe: Why Are Our Markets Always Dirty? by tpia5: 12:27am On Aug 21, 2013
pekelepekele: Its only when it is raining that most market becomes dirty because of all the pure water nylon , plastic bottles and others that the flood will be carrying about but if not for that i trust our iya loja and iyalaje they are very neat people .

They always pay some people to sweep the whole market every morning .
i guess most people arent aware.
FoodRe: Why Are Our Markets Always Dirty? by tpia5: 11:18pm On Aug 20, 2013
people can advertise their cleaning services without running down the markets in general.

El Guapo: Most of these markets have got no rules stipulated to keep the users in order, u can always expect it to be dirty.
not true.

the main issue which might give the impression of dirtiness is if there's a trash collection problem, same as what obtains in the rest of nigeria.

delpee: Many people from Ejigbo have relations in CIV, were born there, grew up there or are still living/doing business there. I once watched a documentary on cocoa farms in CIV on CNN and some of those interviewed as exporters were Yorubas who obviously had strong roots there.
Someone who lost her parents during the anti nigerians crisis told me she dropped out of school when she was brought back home cos she could only speak french!
the nigerian govt needs to take the matter of reintegrating returnees, seriously.

a good percentage of nigerians outside nigeria, dont speak english.

FamilyRe: What % Of Married Women Would Use Their Body To Keep A high Paying Job? by tpia5:
Sissie: Most of the women are not victims like we tend to portray.
have to agree.

this issue has been discussed before.

women in nigeria are conditioned to believe the only way they can get ahead is by giving sexual favours.

be that as it may, they tend to automatically assume, when in the proximity of any male, that sex has to come next. This happens even in the absence of any overtures from the male.

granted many males do contribute to this status quo.

thats why when the women go overseas and find out they dont necessarily have to beg or offer favours per se before they can get ahead, they go overboard with the freedom, and tend to dump males entirely.

arm4u: OP is Nigeria!
The Ijebu garri, the Zamfara rice, the sokoto beans and the benue yam are produced by the older generation who are illiterates. The educated folks are all in ties and suits.

We are saying that education should have helped us to improve in the production of these foods, both in quality and in quantity.

When this old generation passes on, then we shall have the hunger.
i dont think so, all things being equal.

education is no barrier to farming, quite a lot of farmers are educated although admittedly many farmers are not.

as per food importation, thats a fact of life, no country can do without it, sorry.
