Thanks tpiah.

But how is it the fault of Africans that press agencies are racist to us?
we're also racist to each other. People arent blind and they can see that.

besides, there are Africans working at BBC. I wouldnt be surprised if they personally write or vet many of the stories.

Nairaland alone can supply Nigerians who will say worse things about Nigeria and Africa than what you've read so far.
Culture › Re: If The Proposed Jewish Origin Of The Igbo Is Because Of "self Esteem Issues": by tpiah: 4:33am On Jun 11, 2009
ezeagu:
Thank you Tpiah.

Yeah, he's also the one that rejected his slave name, kept his Igbo name, wrote a whole chapter on his home country and not to mention that he was an abolitionist which put his life at a great risk by setting himself against the whole establishment of Great Britain. Imagine all the money he could have received from slave traders if he condoned the trade.

What has Sierra Leone got to do with anything, is it his home? Many did not want to go to Sierra Leone, why? because they would have to start all over again, again, imagine all the abolition work Olaudah would have been out of touch with. I would advise you not to be irrational in trying to prove a point.
You're welcome.

His foreign name was Gustavus Vassa. He probably didnt revive his African name until he wrote that biography.

And while he was an abolitionist, he wasnt the only one, or even one of the prime movers. The abolitionists back then used many blacks and enslaved Africans to help get their message across to the white public. They also used black slave traders who had been captured, enslaved and were trying to return to their home villages in Nigeria.

seriously, I dont know why you keep worrying yourself about all these things. Why not just privately believe what you want to believe - that way you wont get upset when people study the same things you're studying but still dont see it the same way as you.

she doesnt have to correct any media- they do say silence is the best answer for a fool.

From her experience with Nigeria and Nigerians, I dont blame her for chosing to ignore her haters.

However, her silence doesnt mean she's a weakling. She just has better things to do with her time than answer jobless people.

End of story.

Someone here claims Wole Soyinka is not Nigerian.

So far, Wole Soyinka has refused to respond to this allegation. Should one therefore conclude he isnt Nigerian? huh

This one again? Hiss, dont worry, pray that the resources dont run out while you are still young! Female slaves do multitask,
as the son of a slave, you must be quite familiar with slave work especially in your cotton picking specialty.

Will you be sharing from your vast experience in this area?

Also, what cream do you use on your calloused hands? huh

not saying the term isnt racist, but I think it does describe us to some extent.

The heart of Africa ie the Congo, has never had peace and also has a reputation for making a cynic out of even the most incurable optimist. Though that experience isnt limited to Congo alone and neither am I saying foreign powers havent had a hand in making it that way. Also, Rwanda/Burundi would be part of the geographical Congo region but for colonial redrawing of the boundaries.

However, the root problems still begin and end with us Africans, imo.

But, those words shouldnt be PC terms- agreed. Everywhere has its own wickedness.

Am I the only one that doesn't think she's beautiful? huh
no, she may actually not be that beautiful but sometimes it depends on the make up artist and the image her boss/designer wants her to portray.

Wek looks good with pancake but I dont think shes beautiful she just takes good pictures but her skin is beautiful.  A rich deep even colour.
no, facially she's not that beautiful but she knows how to rock what she's modelling. She also seems to have a cheerful personality, from the little I've heard about her. Quite humble too, if she hasnt changed.

FL Gators:
ewww, what happened to her, in the first pix? huh
her face is usually darkened for most of her shoots, I think. That way you focus on the body and the clothes.

mikeansy:
There are a lot of potentially brilliant people in the North, especially amongst the Fulani's.

The Fulani's are ideally meant to be the gipsy's but yet they are the more intelligent and more beautiful amongst the tribes in the North.

I am saying this from first hand knowledge. I served in the North and taught Mathematics, when I got their first I found it very disturbing that the Students largely perform dismally in every other subjects except for Islamic Religous Studies and Arabic. I decided to do something.

I bombarded my class with mathematics and used every item they find arround them while they play to draw analogy. These real life examples made them connect with Mathematics and I think they appreciated the subject once again as they always took out time to show their appreciation whenever they see me in the town market. My most prominent student was a boy called Abubakar A. Abai, he was as dark as charcoal but as very handsome as any kid I have seen anywhere in the world, he had a very cute smile displaying his teeth which were so white as a swan bird. He was the most brilliant and yes he is FULANI.

My point is that there are potentially so many brilliant kids in the North, only if the Elite will let these kids have quality education and embrace civilization. SANUSI is not the only brilliant FULANI his only came to light because he is a PRINCE.

And guess what as kid when my grand-dad was alive. When we went to the EAST for xmas he tells me stories about ISLAM, science, the moon and Stars, and why the Northerners may be good at science and mathematics. I think the current crop of leaders in the North need to take a serious look at themselves and admit failure.
And most importantly their failures have been Nigeria's failures because they have dominated leadership for so long. There is no point leading for the sake of it.
Is there anyone who doesnt know Fulanis are intelligent? huh

I dont know if they're more intelligent than other tribes but the average Fulani tends to be a critical thinker even if he/she is uneducated. Its just that there are a lot of factors like religion, intra clan disputes, family issues, etc which hide this.

Not to mention the cattle rearing- people assume cattle rearing makes you stupid because you spend so much time with the cows. However, not all Fulanis are cattle rearers.  Hindus even worship cows- would they be described as unintelligent or stupid.

besides, nomadic peoples tend to have an edge when it comes to studying human nature.
never heard of the Brazilian hair. like tpia said is it better than the virgin India hair, cause i know that virgin India hair is very good
grin grin

I'm just trying to find out which hair is considered the best quality. The Portuguese also have some pretty thick hair- didnt know it could compare to other countries' own. cheesy

The other thread says Russian hair, but I'm not sure which hair actually corners the market.

This Brazilian hair thingy is news to me, and I wonder if its going to compete with the Indian and Russian hair monopoly.

God try oh- see how some people's hair just grows as if dem put fertilizer. cheesy

always follow the money trail in such cases.

and didnt I say somewhere that a huge number of what goes on in Nigeria can be traced directly to family members? huh Either intentionally or inadverdently- but most times there's deliberate mischief springing from family vendettas and real or perceived grievances.

when mr ajere heard his voice, he begged him to let him go and that he will do anything he anyaehie wanted, he even promised to send him overseas, but all his pleas fell on deaf ears as he was strangled by anyaehie.
Hope he wasnt killed because he identified his captor. Assuming he even stood a chance in the first place.
Christianity Etc › Re: Did Jesus Have Long Hair? by tpiah: 4:23pm On Jun 10, 2009
His hair would have been the same length as that of other Jews at the time.

Women generally keep longer hair than men. So if men back then wore long hair by today's standards, then the women's hair would be longer though covered up.
