Yeah i understand i am not under any obligation to disclose that if i dont want to, but come to think of it someone asks you what nationality you are and you have to think for a few seconds and say em em that has got nothing to do with my job. I understand when someone asked the question with some sort of racism on his voice but someone just want to be friendly and just ask isnt it a shame and isnt it so disgraceful that you cant proudly answer it. Now i understand why some ppl are having changing the colour of their passpt. So sad.
well, its your Nigerian brothers and sisters giving you a bad name. Neither are their activities going to stop anytime soon because these things are part and parcel of our culture.

Stuff happens. Get over it and move on.

The world is owing, so cos he is owing dont make him a loser.
people like him make some people keep a job
well, instead of facing his problem, he's busy trying to point fingers at Nigerians. Are they the ones who put him in debt? huh

He sounds like a loser to me. Did he spend his card on a Nigerian?

unless he's overdue because of a Nigerian scammer, then I dont see why the OP is losing sleep over this matter.

Granted, some Nigerians specialize in credit card fraud. But if he has no evidence the OP's company didnt vet the Nigerians working for them, then what's his problem?

the man owes on his overdue credit card and he's still making yanga.

Better go and study the history of the church ,the ethiopian egyptian and armenian churches were part of the catholic church until the council of chalcedon in 451AD ,it was after that council that they left the church.
The Greek orthodox church with the other eastern orthodox churches left in 1054AD.
stop confusing yourself.

I dont want to get bogged down in tautology and dogma because if we start analyzing all these churches this thread will derail and most people will lose sight of whatever's being discussed.

Here's just one church not on your list:

Chaldean Syrian Church

Chaldean Syrian Church is the name used for the Assyrian Church of the East in India. It is one of several groups of Saint Thomas Christians tracing their origins to St. Thomas the Apostle who, according to tradition, came to India in AD 52.

This Nasrani faith had many similarities to Judaism, and, owing to the heritage of the Nasrani people, developed contacts with the non-Chalcedonian religious authorities of Edessa, Mesopotamia.

The local church maintained its autonomous character under its local leader. When the Portuguese established themselves in India in the 16th Century, they found the Church in Kerala as an administratively independent community. Following the arrival of Vasco de Gama in 1498, the Portuguese came to South India and established their political power there. They brought missionaries to carry out evangelistic work in order to establish churches in communion with Rome under the Portuguese patronage. These missionaries were eager to bring the Indian Church under the Pope's control.  They succeeded in their efforts in 1599 with the `Synod of Diamper'.The representatives of various parishes who attended the assembly were forced by Portuguese authorities to accept the Papal authority.

Following the Portuguese colonization of several coastal regions of India, Christians in Malabar were allied with the Roman Catholic Church. Beginning in the 17th century, ecclesiastically conservative groups began to seek leadership from the Syrian Orthodox Church.

toneyb:
If not for the Romans(Catholics) you wouldn't have know the present version of Christianity that you know today, Christianity exploded ONLY after it became the main religion of the roman empire. Without the Catholics there wouldn't have been any bible. There was no bible until over 300 years after the supposed death of Jesus when the catholic bishops voted and decided to choose what was the word of god and what was not the word of god from the so many writings that were available to be included in the canon. Infact the catholic bishops gave the names or tittle to the gospels and epistles. The gospels were written without tittles and who ever wrote the gospel didn't say who he was. The catholic bishops decided to name them as gospel according to John, Matthew etc. The bible itself as a book is a catholic invention.
did you notice my post about the Jewish Torah which was the only book Jesus himself quoted from?

maybe the church one doesnt require a literal arm and leg? huh

After you give, you can use your legs to walk back and make more money to give your church.

However, if you're missing an arm, leg or eyeball that makes it harder assuming you're still alive.

which book did Jesus quote from? Given the fact that there was no Catholic church while he was alive.

None of these churches are as old as the roman church.
Is that what you think.  Have you heard of the Ethiopian eunuch mentioned by one of the disciples.

That is exactly what it means. They are all idol worshippers.Every single one of them. The only differences are the names attached to each respective deity.
I'm sure you want to redefine the English language. The meaning of idol is pretty clear, but as usual, this being the internet, feel free to give it whatever interpretation you wish.

You can even say undecided is an idol.

sugabelly:
Don't you UNDERSTANDhuh?? In EVERY language there MUST be a word that is used to described THAT LANGUAGE and THOSE PEOPLE. In Igbo the word is IGBO just like in French the word is FRENCH. The word Igbo has NO OTHER MEANING than the language that we speak and the people that we are.

The only exceptions are when you tone the word differently and that doesn't even count because different tone = different word.

Kai, stop looking for abracadabra where there is obviously none.

EVERY language has a word to name itself. EVERY FREAKING LANGUAGE!
Origin of the word French

the name of the language itself, français, comes from the Germanic Frank ('freeman'). The Franks referred to their land as Franko(n) which became Francia in Latin in the 3rd century (then an area in Gallia belgica, somewhere in modern-day Belgium or the Netherlands).

Christianity Etc › Re: Who Is A Pagan And Idol Worshipper? by tpiah: 5:33pm On Jun 15, 2009
Pastor AIO:
It's a possible interpretation. It would be kind of you to make yourself clear.
to the best of my knowledge, the thread isnt about the rightness or wrongness of worshipping idols per se.

The OP seems to be trying to attack Christianity as usual.

Now, when you mold say a clay figurine, then attribute all kinds of powers to it, which you use as justification for your worship of the same object you made, and which used to be a formless physical lump of clay before YOU cut out two eyes, a head and a mouth, then I see a big difference between that and worshipping a creator.

We're allowed to disagree however!

jagunlabi:
Are you not attacking religion in general, already? Is idol worshipping(both mental and physical) not part and parcel of all religions? Is that not what makes them religion? The very act of worshipping, itself?
Many religions worship idols doesnt mean all religions are idol worshippers.
Christianity Etc › Re: Who Is A Pagan And Idol Worshipper? by tpiah: 5:17pm On Jun 15, 2009
Pastor AIO:
are you suggesting that it is okay to worship a construct as long as it is not a physical one made with the hands?
is that what you're reading from my post? huh

jagunlabi:
There is no idol constructed by hands without first constructed by the mind.
First it is made in the mind, then it is made by hand.
That is how everything gets created by the hands.Conceptual creation first, then the physical creation follows.Every creation is manifested from within, from inside out.
look, idol worshippers themselves will tell you idols are physical things constructed with hands.

If you want to attack religion in general and Christianity in particular, then say that's your intent from the getgo.
