I dont have much patience for a guy who lists his partner's bad qualities as if he has none of his own, as Naija men are wont to do.


Instead of saying, "applaud me for putting up with this woman in my saintly way"- and plenty of these "matyrdom" threads abound on NL- why cant someone start a thread about his own negative issues which his girlfriend is putting up with like a saint.

Soledad O Brien is claiming black because of affirmative action. It helps her career to say she's black, otherwise she'd be competing with white women for her position.

Her mother is Afro-Cuban- which could mean she (the mother) is mixed, not 100% black.

People arent blind- does that look like a black woman to you.

black in her case means she has black blood- same as many whites and latinos.

finding out temperament isnt that hard- most people with hot tempers dont hide it. So if you know you're also hot tempered or cant handle a volatile person, dont even go there.

Afro Venezuelan and Black Venezuelan arent two different terms. Both mean you are either fully black, or have some black admixture.

Sometimes its not only about being beautiful- if you're pretty but look like you want to attack everyone you see, or look stuck up as if pretty women don finish for this world, then that's a huge turn off.

Some Nigerians seem to think the nasty hiphop look is a normal one which appeals to everybody.

Thats like saying most white stars have Eminem's expression, which isnt so.

Tyra banks is always talking about looking fierce but she doesnt mean appearing thuggish 100% of the time.

as for Nicole Ritchie and Mariah Carey- Nicole has some black blood- not sure to what extent. It doesnt mean she's half-black- she could only be a quarter.

Mariah carey's dad is Afro-Venezuelan. That also doesnt mean her dad was fully black. He could be mixed.

The label isnt defined by how many members the group has.

Thats just a common misconception. Most times, tribes are characterized by their mentality and behavior.

imo, it shows a serious lack of faith to kick against taxes, and I dont know if these pastors are setting a good example for their congregations. Anyway, I'm speaking as someone who has paid taxes for as long as I've been working. Even if I go to the bookstore and buy a motivational book by Warren Buffett or Bill Gates, I still pay taxes on it and likewise I assume the writers also paid taxes on any royalties they received.


So far, there's no indication the taxes are unreasonable, unless there's something I dont know about the matter.


If, after the govt collects taxes, nothing is still done to improve the infrastructure or standard of living of the tax payers, then thats when people should complain.
