Did you just mentioned Osogbo and Ijebu? May i never met them. I know the types of Yorubas to hang around with and i've just told you.
are you trying to marry an Ijebu man or an osogbo man? huh

and I believe i mentioned one of the premises being if the couple are both ijebu? huh

What about Western men that the survey was all about? Did you question that the survey took place at all or that the researchers are Nigerian men disguising as Whites?
^^here's a hint:

3 million records (doubtful) of which demographic? Immigrants?

But the result of the survey seems to suggest that other races share the African man mindset.
arabs, indians/pakistanis are all examples of races which share the african male mindset on this matter.

Aloy.emeka

You are on your own. No matter how old a gorrilla is, he will still be sleeping on a tree.

But on a more serious note, it's not the entire osun, it's the Ijeshas. They are a good breed of Yorubas, only i cant vouch for them when its has to do with women.
you've obviously never met an osogbo man. Or any other yoruba men.

as far as I know, the yoruba group known for the highest monogamy rate in the southwest are the ijebus. And that assumption is based on certain premises, one of which is the couple are both ijebu.

second, you must have somehow magically impressed your partner's relatives?

ondo men [from ondo town], also have a somewhat relatively high rate of monogamy once they decide to settle down. Especially if both parties are ondo but sometimes even if not.
If it is true to a large extent that Yoruba men are the most randy among all ethnic groups in Nigeria, why do you doubt my assertion that Osun men are more cultured, neat and responsible among the whole Yoruba race?. It is a tribal thing and like I said before, stay away from the Yoruba tribe known as Egba because their men have 3 left balls in their scrotum.
1. Yoruba men are NOT the randiest in nigeria, ok? Nigerian men are randy, period.

2. Are you dating an osun man and were you disappointed by an egba man because your aggro is very suspicious.

look here tpiah,

please read the article again before commenting. the researchers followed up 3 million cohorts. that is a huge sample size, and if you normally read medical journals at all it tells you it gives the study good power and reduces the chances of type 2 error.
these people were followed up in time, and they drew conclusion that there is a significant probability that having female children than male children with divorce rate.

by no means can we conclude that it applies to all marriages with daughters, but it is an interesting conclusion.

i am sure the researchers would have controlled for what we call confounders, those are factors that can make it look like daughters in families lead to divorce but whereas they are actually the reasons.
^^on the contrary, YOU need to read the article in full instead of the short misleading excerpt the op posted.

check the last paragraph.

if this research were to be done in nigeria i wont be surprised if it produced similar if not more significant results.
and your point's supposed to be? huh

your own bullsh!t thinks having sons is an automatic guarantee a couple wont divorce?

I am glad this research was done by western researchers with Western men used as case studies.

If it were to be a Nigerian based observation the women folks among us would have labelled Naija men as something else.

While growing up In Nigeria, the culture kind of values male child more, They are of the opinion that the male child keeps the family name, While the female get married and leave.

I knew a man who kept pumping his wife just to have male kids, they ended up with 7 daughters and no son, The only time he had boys they died at 2yrs and the other at childbirth.

Sex of the child has been a reason for many breakups in Nigerian families

This study now shows that Foreign men now think the same thing. Maybe this would change as women are now showing they can be very important economically in the west atimes more than the men
^^ huh

So just because someone posts some jargon of questionable origin you must swallow it hook line and sinker because the authors seem to be white?

wonders will never cease.

abeg, if you're a nigerian man worried about having daughters, just say so.  Not like it's a secret for goodness sake?

everybody knows african men see females as second class citizens?

Now, look up the above statement, where did the guy say he's got 4 passports?  Why are people sooo ignorant on this board?! The guy said he's an American and canadian citizen, permanent resident in Australia and Ghanaian by birth.

That means he holds US and Canadian passports (thats 2 passports). Him being permanent resident in Auzzie doesn't mean he's got their passport. Him being a Ghanaian citizen by birth could mean 2 things(he could have Ghanaian passport if and only if, the aforementioned countries allow dual nationality).

Damn. . .  this aint rocket science. Even my 7 year old niece would understand this whole stuff but i guess not some grown adults on this board! Jeeez!!!

Oh teacher {Abrantie raises hand}, Who's the "Great Britain"? Let me guess -- Nigeria. LOL!

Delusions of Grandeur -- It's another trait which is typical amongst Nigerians:

Noun:

1. delusions of grandeur - a delusion (common in paranoia) that you are much greater and more powerful and influential than you really are.

delusion, psychotic belief - (psychology) an erroneous belief that is held in the face of evidence to the contrary.

megalomania - a psychological state characterized by delusions of grandeur.

The problem with Nigeria is -- it's full of Nigerians.

There's a disease called Lupus, in which the immune system, which is supposed to protect one's body against diseases, instead turns around and attacks the body.

Nigeria's immune system, which is her people, has gone rogue. Without major attitudinal shift by her citizens, no amount of acronyms starting with "Federal", fancy Abuja structures, airports, oil revenue, Silverbird Cinemas, Globacoms and greasy fried chicken joints can save the country.

An Igbo man always protects his woman with everything. If you find an Igbo couple with a new child, it's very common to see the man carrying the baby for his wife. How about that?
i've seen plenty of yoruba men carrying their baby. Especially overseas. The only way something like this would be a novelty is if it happened in nigeria.

Onlytruth:
That is the point I've been trying to make but I don't think tpiah understood me.

Of course men wander in relationships more than women, but my point is that I have met many non-Igbo women who never date other tribes after dating Igbo men. Even Akatas in particular who dated Igbo men before will ask your tribe before she decides to date you.
it's a female thing.

they stick to what they're used to.

it's not tribe specific in the way you think.

In that case, concentrate on Osun men only. They are more likely to be faithful than any other men from Yorubaland.
is misinformation.

who will or wont cheat is largely dependent on personal values and environment, not necessarily state of origin.

admittedly, some areas are more prone to cheating than others, but generalization still doesnt always cut it.
