so in this person's world:

My view is that the girl in qustion is NOT insane. Saying that she is in insane is a day-light lie. Because, she dressed like a muslim into the mosques, waited for the service to begin before she carried out her intent. 2ndly, after the bad ac, she was said to be remorse as reported by some xtian posters. Definitely, an insane person wouldn't have been remorsed for such action. So, there is no evidence of "INSANE".
sane people normally act like lunatics? huh

fxskye:
You remind me of my service year in Afhikpo North of Ebonyi State. Few muslims suffer endlessly from the communicate dominated by xtians. I can't forget that.
it's majorly a tribal thing, so try to brush up on your knowledge of nigerian history instead of stoking unnecessary sentiments.

^^no need to get defensive as if someone abused you. undecided

oversabi helps nobody but rather makes you look foolish, since no one has a monopoly on knowledge.

as i mentioned before, okiti isnt a common term across yorubaland. Apata is another word for mountain.

simple fact which you'd do well to learn. And if you dont want to learn, then waka pass jeje.

if you go around telling people okiti and thinking you've known the whole concept of yoruba, you don gba foul.

if you're going to style yourself an expert on yoruba language, at least make an effort to know the region.

okiti itself sounds like a derivation of okuta but you wouldnt know that now, would you.

why isnt abeokuta called abeokiti, since you're the expert here.

in what way was the girl's action a "slightest provocation"? huh

i dont know about you, but i'd call it blatant and aggressive provocation.

babapupa usually starts his own topics.

he didnt start this one which is just one of ileke idi's many threads attempting to deride lagos.

if he chooses to ignore her and the rest of you, nothing wrong with that.

and if he chooses not to ignore you, that's also his prerogative.
Music/Radio › Re: If It Ain't Shaking, It Ain't Selling by tpiah: 6:58pm On Aug 17, 2010
^^those lyrics are very tame and not to be compared to obesere.

if he'd said something like "sweet p***nis" or "sweet ______" then that's different.

at least only grown/matured minds [as opposed to little kids] would know a sweet banana wasnt referring to actual fruit.

hope you get my meaning? huh

i myself know this song but never knew that's what the lyrics were until now.

my dad was into sunny ade.

i'll read through the whole thread later but going by BET, i agree with the title.

^^

The term "under the bleachers" is imbued with cultural meaning from the post-war era of American high school football stars and cheerleaders. In the sexually conservative society of post-war America, some students would find places like the bleachers at the football field, or a secluded parking lot, to interact socially and sexually with their peers
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bleacher

note: it doesnt mean i'm endorsing the practice.

just saying a sports complex can be used for various things but it still remains a sports complex.
Politics › Re: Muslim Students Paralyse University Of Ibadan by tpiah: 6:06pm On Aug 17, 2010
^^sports complex is sports complex.

if people make out there during off hours, does that make a sports complex a brothel or night club? huh

i do have friends who sometimes saw people having heavy s.ex in a sports complex after dark.
Politics › Re: Muslim Students Paralyse University Of Ibadan by tpiah: 5:56pm On Aug 17, 2010
^^i think the incident was discussed on another thread.

and in any case, a sports complex isnt the same thing as an actual church, so my question still stands.

and the girl is still wrong. Two wrongs dont make a right.

everything about this girl smacks of outside/foreign manipulation. undecided

her mode of operation mirrors certain other modus operandi.

She would have still been beaten for that. Stop pretending that you don't know this. The mosque entry magnifies the outrage, but the beating would have still been there.

Do you know how many riots have been started based on rumours that people had used the Quran to wipe their butts, even in the safety of their homes?
and did this happen in Ibadan because I dont get your point.

If that's her grouse, then she should go to Kano and shout in a mosque there.

and how many people have been beaten for carrying religious placards, in southern nigeria?

stop making wrong analogies.

texazzpete:
Nothing smells fishy. The girl simply went overboard in her fervour for evangelism. Perhaps martyrdom was really what she sought all along.
At least she did her disruption peacefully. More often than not, Muslims have registered their displeasure with Nigerian Christians with Machetes, hammers and shotguns.

Funny how the Muslim students shouting of 'terrorism' were the only ones to actually use violence that day. Last i checked, terrorism by definition requires a violent act.
what she did qualifies as a violent act, imo.

and yes, everything about her smells fishy.

error!!!

i have many examples where muslims disrupted xtian meetings and of course years back in UI, some muslims carried placards and went round school saying Jesus was a muslim

nobody was expelled, beaten or questioned

yeah, dont let us derail the thread
^^did the muslim students go inside a church and start yelling? huh

why didnt this girl simply carry a placard and stand in one corner somewhere like sane people do.

Why are they claiming there are 'religious leaders behind the girl'?
i doubt any nigerian religious leader is behind this, unless it's boko harem trying to justify a coming attack.

but i agree the girl needs to be investigated because it all smells very fishy.

^^keyword here is context, because of those of you protesting her beating.

would you have the same view had it been idol worshippers involved.

they'd beat her without apology and no one would bother commenting.
