PoliticsMbazulike Amechi: Aso Rock Cabals Influencing Buhari’s Decisions by treesun(op): 9:10am On Jul 22, 2022
An elder statesman and second Republic Minister of Aviation, Chief Mbazulike Amechi, has said cabals in Aso Rock are preventing the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), from making rightful decisions in the management of the country’s affairs.

Amechi said a series of letters he had written to Buhari on the state of affairs in the country, including that of Nnamdi Kanu, were not delivered to the President.

The elder statesman stated these in his Ukpor country home in Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State, on Thursday.

Amechi recalled that when he led a delegation of Igbo elders to Buhari and requested him to release Kanu to the Igbo elders on political grounds, Buhari himself agreed and demanded that they should go and put the request in writing.

He said, “The people around the President are not allowing him to make rightful decisions and that is why the country is in a bad shape at the moment, but God is raising a new generation of leaders.”

He lamented that he was shocked and still remains shocked that after writing the letters and sending it across to Buhari for his perusal and immediate action, nothing has been heard about it till date, which suggested to him that the President may have been forced not to take action on the letters by the same cabals who had sworn that Kanu would not be released.

He also recalled that shortly after Kanu’s arrest, he wrote an application to pay a visit to Buhari but the same cabals did not show him the application until somebody met Buhari in Paris, France and asked him whether he saw the application and he said “no”.

He, therefore, urged Buhari to demand the letters from his aides, swallow his pride, ignore the antics of the cabals and act on them appropriately.

According to him, the Igbo elders, led by his humble self have assured him that Kanu’s release will not only douse tensions but also restore normalcy in the country, just as the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua handled the Niger/Delta issue and secured the country from further chaos during his regime.

Amechi also expressed sadness over the poor state of affairs in the country, saying that as the last surviving second republic elder statesman, he cannot continue to watch as things continue to decay.

He described the 2023 general elections as an election that is capable of determining the continuous existence of the country and must be given every attention it deserves.

Amechi said, “As I lie down in my bed, meditating and navigating the quiet sea of 94 years, tears rolled down my cheeks that my President, a man who has so much regard and respect for me will be diverted not to trust me and grant me the one single request which I made in my capacity as about the only surviving co-founder of this great country, which is the release of Kanu.”

On the state of affairs, the 94-year-old patriot said a third force is springing up which appears that God now wants to openly act and save the country from anarchy.

He said, “To me, the two most potent and current issues in the country now are the coming presidential election and the growing spate of insecurity in the country.

“On the elections, I am no longer a politician but I cannot keep dumb when I see the country which I gave my whole youth and blood to co-found being pushed to an irretrievable pit of disintegration and anarchy.

“Since the operation of the military imposed constitution in 1999, two major political parties have ruled the country and both parties have goofed in the selection of their presidential candidates and their running mates. The nation has sunk into the stinking catacomb of corruption, looting, religious and tribal bigotry.

“It would appear that the emergence of Peter Obi and Datti Baba Ahmed ticket is an opportunity which God has given to the long suffering people of Nigeria to save and take back their country which has been economically and politically raped for many years.”

On the Muslim-Muslim ticket, he said, “The position is this bad for the poor Christians now that we still have Muslim/Christian presidency. You can imagine what will happen if Nigeria is said to have elected a Muslim/Muslim presidency in 2023.”

PoliticsAbdulmumimi Usman Kabir: NYSC Only Surviving FG Project Uniting Nigeria by treesun(op): 9:46pm On Jul 21, 2022
The Emir of katsina, Alhaji Dr Abdulmumimi Usman Kabir has observed that the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) was the only surviving Federal Government Project among so many that were established between 1970 to 1990.

Emir Kabir made the observation on Wednesday, 20th July, 2022 when the State Coordinator NYSC katsina state Hajiya Muhammad Aisha paid a courtesy call on the Emir in his palace.

The Katsina monarch called on the Federal Government of Nigeria to continue to support the NYSC Scheme, noting that it is the only project that brings in national unity and integration.

He disclosed that while serving under the scheme in Sokoto as a Youth Corps member in the 80s, he served with dedication and selflessness, unlike what is happening today.

The Emir further observed that lots of difference exist between nowadays youths and those in his days. He explained that “youths in the good old days, listen and obey advise but today, if you tell the youth to sit down, he or she wants to know why you are asking him to sit down.”

“NYSC is the only project established by the Federal Government in the 70s’ that is still in existence among many others like War Against Indiscipline (WAI), Green Revolution, to mention but a few.”

Emir Kabir also promised to support the scheme in his capacity as the traditional head of the katsina Emirate council

While assuring the coordinator of adequate security of lives and properties of corps members and staff serving in his domain, the Emir said:
“My doors are always open to render assistance as far as the NYSC is concern whenever the need arises.”

The monarch encouraged the coordinator not to express any fear while praying, noting that the gods of the land will protect and preserve the NYSC members in his domain

Earlier, the Coordinator, Hajiya Aisha Muhammad informed the Royal father that She was in his palace to present herself to the Emir for his prayers and royal blessing having been posted to the state recently.

Hajiya Aisha thanked the Emir for the provision of a conducive atmosphere for the corps members to operate within his domain.

Osun 2022: The defeat of APC will lead to the political death of many politicians-Lasun Yusuff

A former Deputy Speaker in the House of Representatives, Lasun Yusuff has revealed that the anticipated defeat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Osun gubernatorial election will result in the political death of many politicians.
Yusuff, who is the Labour Party gubernatorial candidate in the election also revealed that APC chieftains in the state were human haters who were not interested in developing young politicians.
Making this revelation while featuring on a radio current affairs programme in Osogbo on Thursday, Yusuff who served as Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives under the banner of the APC explained that most of the founding members of the APC in the state have been treated badly.
He advised that any politician seeking relevance should dissociate themselves from the party.
In his words, “We were the grandfather of APC in Osun and they treated everybody badly. I won’t wish anybody that has a future that is relevant to his environment to stay back in APC.
“A lot of people will die when APC loses the coming governorship election. They will die politically because they are not relevant politically and they have also made so many enemies and they are just ground-standing.
“Almost everybody in PDP at the top level in Osun is either our fathers, uncles or friends. I can describe them as that. But in APC, people hate one another a lot. There are supposed to be fathers, friends, uncles, but when you describe them like that, particularly APC, they are human haters.”
While debunking rumours of his alleged plans to step down for another gubernatorial candidate in the election, the Ilobu-born politician described it as far from the truth.
“The information is insane. Nobody has ever approached me to step down and there is nobody amongst those contesting in Osun today that is worth stepping down for.
“I am a veteran in politics. In 2011, I had 72,000 votes and in 2015, I had 73,000 votes for the House of Representatives seat. So, for someone like me who gathered such votes in four local governments, to be going into an election to step down for people who struggle to score about 250,000 votes in 30 local governments. It is insane. That is the only way I can explain that.
“It shows that in the politics of Osun today if you check election results, I am probably one of the most popular because to have 72,000 votes in 2011 election in four local governments and 73,000 in 2015 and for people who are ground-standing now that I’m going to step down for them, the best of them in 2018 had just 255,000 votes.
“I have been deputy speaker of Nigeria for four years. As of today, amongst everybody that is contesting, I am the highest office holder. That is the highest position anybody contesting is either holding or must have held.”

Rostikol:
FG releases $100m to Siemens to further power sector rehabilitation

July 7, 20222

By Habeeb Adamu

The Federal Government of Nigeria [has released] $100 million to Siemens to carry on with the necessary rehabilitation works in the power sector.

This is coming on the basis of an agreement between the government and the National Assembly on the compelling need to improve the power supply situation in the country. The agreement would enable Siemens to strengthen the necessary infrastructure that would raise the country’s power generation to 7,000 megawatts (MW) under the Presidential Power Initiative.

Gabriel Suswan, chairman, Senate Committee on Power, who disclosed this Wednesday at the Nigeria Oil and Gas Conference in Abuja, said Siemens AG’s accomplishment of a similar plan in Egypt gives hope that the Nigeria Electricity Roadmap (NER) is possible and achievable.

The Siemens Power Project under the Presidential Power Initiative is aimed at increasing Nigeria’s electricity from the current 4,500 MW to 25,000 MW, but this will come in phases. The phases cover the upgrading and expansion of the Transmission Networks (TN) and Distribution Companies (DisCos) networks, improvement of access to affordable, efficient and reliable electricity, and providing support for industrial and economic growth in the country.

In Nigeria, the imbalance between power generation, evacuation, dispatch and consumption is a major challenge for the population of over 200 million people. While over 13 GW of grid power generation capacity is installed, only approximately 3.4 GW reaches consumers on average.

Siemens was introduced to assess the situation in Nigeria’s power sector, alongside other stakeholders from Nigeria’s Ministry of Power, Bureau of Public Enterprise (BPE), (NERC), Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) and DisCos, with an immediate priority to enhance the transmission and distribution segment of the power sector.

“Given Siemens AG’s accomplishment of a similar plan in Egypt and also its reputation as an international giant in the power sector related engagements, it is strongly believed that the Nigeria Electricity Roadmap (NER) is possible and achievable,” Suswan said.

The All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, has disclosed why he must win the 2023 election.

Tinubu said he must win the presidential election for the sake of job creation.

He assured that his victory would bring about quality education for Nigerians and the elimination of poverty.

The APC presidential candidate spoke on Wednesday while unveiling Kashim Shettima as his running mate.

Tinubu said his victory would eliminate religious and ethnic division among Nigerians.

He also harped on the need for Nigerians to be united.

“We must win this election so that we can bring jobs, eliminate poverty, educate our children, bring up our grandchildren without thinking of religious division or ethnic division.

We are one, our passport is one; greenback is one. One nation, one destiny,” he said.

sleepless night.
As if they are in APC.
The two northern Christian states are anti Muslims.

Benue and Plateau strangled Muslim
minorites out of politics since 1999. The
Minority Muslims experience what lgbo
Muslim face in many areas.
Also, Plateau that is APC in Governorship election is always PDP in presidential. This means, APC has always lose there.
Benue is PDP in both course. And APC lose like pack of cards in presidential election.
In fact, these two states and their Christians have the worse PROPAGANDA against Muslims in Nigeria.
The south east is a Christian zone and
Muslims or APC aren't welcomed. APC alway lose all South East states in presidential elections.

These are places where Christian dominates wholesomely in Nigeria.
Why should APC zone a ticket to a people that will never vote for you to win? Even with a pastor, they didn't vote you onto victory.

No sensible human invest in a lose.

Any attempt to pick who isn't a northern Muslim is a win for Atiku and his PDP. It is like somebody getting to gate of heaven then decided to commit adultery.
(1 am constrained to write this because I see blunders from people on this and CAN who equally never wanted Muslim as governor or deputy in Benue and Plateau, in South East and south South states are opening their gallon mouths over something they never worked for and will never do for Muslims if muslims were minority in Nigeria. PoliticsBREAKING: CAN Disowns Bishops At Shettima’s Unveiling by treesun(op): 5:47pm On Jul 20, 2022
The Christian Association of Nigeria on Wednesday dissociated itself from Bishops who attended the unveiling of the vice presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Kashim Shettima, saying they were desperados who went there for themselves.

The organisation said that although the presidential candidate of the APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was free to “hire mechanics and other artisans and sew clerical garments for them”, that effort would only add to their many ropes but would not change the need for fairness and justice.

The Vice President of CAN (19 Northern States and Abuja) and its chairman in Kaduna State, Rev. Joseph John Hayab, said this in an interview with journalists in Abuja.

He said, “The people we saw at the unveiling of Shettima paraded as Bishops are people who did not have enough time to learn how to wear Bishop garments. Take a closer look at their photo and you will see another Nollywood movie.

CAN wonders why the desperation. First, a story was out claiming to have come from the Chairman of CAN Borno state only to be refuted. Secondly, there was another lie that BAT (Bola Ahmed Tinubu) and his running mate were on their way to meet CAN President one night. A meeting that was not true and was on a night that the CAN President was in Alabama USA attending the Baptist World Alliance Conference of which he is the Vice President.

“Another desperation story was that they met Papa Adeboye which the RCCG later refuted. If Christians are not important why the desperation?

“BAT is free to hire mechanics and other artisans and sew clerical garments for them. An effort that will only add to their many ropes when the political exercise is over but will not change the need for fairness and justice that CAN is calling for.

“CAN appreciate that we are in a democracy, no need to do funny and dubious things just to prove a point because it will in the end bounce back. BAT team should simply do what is right and stop the drama.”

PoliticsRe: Family Disowns Tinubu As Their Member Launches Family Book by treesun: 3:48pm On Jul 20, 2022
Oleys:
The controversy surrounding the paternity of the former Lagos State governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu was renewed’ on Monday’ as members of the Tinubu family in Lagos confirmed that he had no genealogical relationship with the family.

The family, in a book entitled, ‘Onijumu Wura; the Tinubu dynasty of Kakawa Street,’ launched in Lagos, said the former governor is not a biological member of the family.

Tinubu had earlier traced his family background to the popular Tinubu family of Lagos, but critics debunked this claim, insisting that he is from Iragbiji in Osun State.

A section of the Tinubu family, apparently worried by the controversy this had generated in the state, decided to write the book that chronicled the descendants of the family which did not include Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The author of the book, Mr. Rafiu Babatunde Tinubu, who is also a former Head of Service in Lagos state, insisted that “all members of their that bears the name must have biological relationship with the cleric, the late Alfa Muhammed Bugara Tinubu.”
He said, with the book, the family needed to put the record straight for posterity.

He said the decision to publish the book was to ensure that the name of the family was not polluted.

“Hence, the research into the origin and place of the family became a prominent agenda that kept reverberating at every meeting of the family.”

“…I was mandated by the family at its meeting sometime in 1982 under the chairmanship of Papa R.B. King to research into the evolution of the Tinubu family in Lagos in view of my antecedents as a lecturer at the University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University.”
