generationz: What's the difference between 12v, 24v and 48v? Nominal battery voltages that most DC systems are built around. |

GeorgeD1: bro, firstly, we all know that c rating (as regards battery capacity) is the safest maximum continuous discharge rate the battery will support. a carefully calibrated load is applied until the voltage gradually depletes to 1.75v/cell (lead acid) or 1.0v/cell (nicd/nimh) and 3.0v/cell (for li-ion} having said that, while i wouldn't want to pick holes in trojan's claims, i do understand that battery c ratings and capacity are not cast in stone. for instance take the case of two batteries with 200ah c10 and 200ah c20 respectively. the first battery with a capacity and rating of 200ah c10 may turn out to be actually 250ah when discharged at c20 depending on battery chemistry and quality of materials used to produce it while at c100 it could go higher to 320ah in capacity as an example. i do see most of our sellers here bandying all sorts of batteries for sale. they put out a lot of info but leave out the most relevant which is the c rating of the battery. i guess they are either ignorant themselves or perhaps they are feeding fat on the ignorance of potential customers. if i buy a c100 rated 200ah battery unknowingly thinking it is c20, i'm invariably buying a 170ah battery. no wonder many peeps here keep complaining of dead battery after just a few months of usage. You are 101% correct...the same way lithium chemistry battery sellers quote capacity of battery in mAh and deftly hide the working voltage of the system... |

eleojo23: I've been trying to understand the difference between this C10 and C20 stuff. I've read some conflicting and vague info about it online.
Can the gurus please explain which is better and why? From my understanding, the lesser the C rating of a battery the more durable it is, as regards deep discharge. Ie it handles higher currents without much effect to the battery itself. Usually the thickness of plates, quality of material used, total surface area or electrodes and some finer details used to make the Insides of a LA battery determines how it performs with regards to high charge/discharge. This tranlates into its C rating. |

The group buy doesnt have any comparative advantage/savings as seller doesnt offer serious discount, on the projected quantities we would be purchasing.... , so i would suggest all man for himself ;D ..... This is nigeria, its a bit unnerving giving a faceless stranger upto 500k, and waiting for 3months or more b4 knowing if you hv been defrauded or not
Edited again We can still create the whatsapp group to assist with links and suggestions. |

Ojukokoro will not kee me...
So I saw a deal of an Eastman 850va, 12v inverter and 2×100ahr Double tech batteries few months used, for less than 120k.
I grab am, because reason for disposal was due to system upgrade of the previous owner.
Well, I just took delivery and I discovered that the self consumption, on no load is about 25watts!
Summary of this message be say, I WAN SELL ONLY INVERTER O....I never even install am yet.
Asking prize is 45k. (Slightly negotiable)
INVERTER has LCD screen, shows real time load percentage, inbuilt charger, etc etc.
Reason for my own disposal is that, my system is very small, my 600Wp PV installation is also heavily shaded and this inverter will simply be wasting energy for me...
Hit signature let's talk.
Update SOLD

techfine 3.5kva inverter 150000 200ah techfine ba3. 12v (4) 480,000 solar panel (12). 360,000 solar charge controller. 100,000 surge protector. 60,000 earthing. 40,000 kits. 60,000 service charge. 40,000 cabinet for battery. 45,000
total. #1,335,000 All the places we use techfine batteries as stop gap replacement, in the past 6months have either packed up or are limping, waiting to be decommissioned. They saw about 50%DoD, C3 to C4 max discharge rates.... There was enough solar and Diesel gen backup to ensure DoD was adhered to. These were 1000ahr/2v cells anyway. Maybe that info will help in your decision making. |

I just checked on Youtube now and it does exists! Make i go find am.
Baba, what requirement would they need of my system to design one for me? My system will be a 12volt system (1 12v battery and a 12v inverter). It's sold as is....just get one |

odimbannamdi: Guys, please who sells the two items in the attached picture?
The first one with light is a voltmeter. It has been permanently attached to the battery.
The second one is clamp also permanently attached to the inverter line.
I also need a Wattmeter to use in checking the actual power consumption of my devices.
If you have them, kindly signify so that i can reach out to you. Thanks You get a wattmetre designed for your need at arena oshodi....displays all you stated and more. Shouldn't be more than 5k (see attached of what I mean)
