Super Eagles forward, Ahmed Musa who signed for Al-Nassr FC in August, scored his first hat-trick for the Saudi Arabian club, as they took on Al-Qadisiyah yesterday.
The 25-year-old scored in the 21, 40 and 66 minutes to give his team all three points in the 3 - 0 away win.
Taking to his IG page to celebrate, he wrote:' Great teamwork! Thankful to my teammates to get the away victory and happy to get my first hat-trick for the club.'

A Benue State lecturer has been accused of brutalizing her 6 years old houseboy for allegedly misplacing the exercise books she bought for him.

According to Teryila Orkuma - a neighbor who witnessed the incident - the boy was brought from the village and enrolled in a school in Makurdi. .

However, he ended up misplacing the notebooks bought for him in school, making the lecturer to beat him up.

Chinenye Favour Eneh, pictured above, a Mass Communication student of the Nasarawa State Polytechnic, NASPOLY, was among those that died in the explosion last Monday at Monaco gas station in Lafia, Nasarawa State.

A friend, who shared her photo on Facebook, said late Chinenye was on her way to school when the explosion happened. She was rushed to the hospital where she passed away later

A suspected thief, on Thursday, September, 13, 2018, escaped being burnt alive, thanks to the timely intervention of some policemen who whisked him away in Akwa Ibom State

The incident happened at Itam junction, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. The suspect had already been doused in petrol and put inside a tyre, in preparation for being set ablaze, before his sweet escape.

According to eyewitnesses, the mother of the abandoned baby identified as Edesiri, collapsed in another hospital due to the forceful removal of the placenta shortly after giving birth to her baby at the newly commissioned ultra modern market in Sapele area.
The baby who was rushed to the general hospital in Sapele, was rescued on Saturday night after vigilante men in the area heard the cry of a baby and followed the sound of the baby as well as trails of blood till both led them close to a female toilet in the market.

It was gathered that the security men notified their boss, Mr Tony Akpeki who arrived the scene and notified the authorities. The first lady of Delta state, Mrs Edith Okowa, head of child welfare, commissioner of Women affairs, have also been alerted to help the abandoned child.
There was also a viral report of a boy who was rescued, after being abandoned in a graveyard – between two concrete tombs. The two-month-old infant was heard crying by concerned residents who rushed to help him in Quezon, Philippines, on May 28.
The locals picked up the youngster and put him in a tuk-tuk to be driven to hospital where doctors said he had been left at the cemetery for a several hours. Local authorities are now caring for the little boy, named Louis. His grandmother, Gloria Perez, came forward and identified her own daughter, Lara Sentillas, as the mother. Police later arrested her.

Officers arrested the mother and said they were prosecuting her for allegedly abandoning the tot in the Candelaria district of the city. Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar, Calabarzon Police regional director, identified the mother as Lara Sentillas. Eleazar said she would face criminal charges over the ‘abandonment of her baby’.

About 100 members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) aspiring t0 various elective positions ahead of 2019 elections in Ogun State have notified the party of their ambitions, Daily Trust has gathered.
The list obtained by our correspondent in Abeokuta, showed that the aspirants are seeking ADC tickets for Governorship, Senatorial, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly seats.

Of all the aspirants, only a two-time governorship candidate in the state, Gboyega Nasiru Isiaka, popularly called GNI, has notified the party of his ambition to run for gubernatorial seat.
Also in the list are, four senatorial aspirants, 20 contenders for House of Representatives seat, while others are running for the State Assembly.

Speaking with our correspondent on Sunday in Abeokuta, the State Publicity Secretary of ADC, Abiola Odutola said the party will soon begin screening exercise for all the aspirants.
“Alot of them have have submitted their letters of intent,while some obtained nomination forms. The first step is the submission of letter of intent and certainly, any aspirant who wishes to contest must obtain nomination forms because our screening exercise begins soon.
“We’re still deliberating on the mode of primaries to be adopted. But for serving lawmakers who have joined us, the party is giving them automatic tickets,” Odutola said.

At least eight persons have been confirmed dead in fresh attacks carried out by unknown gunment in Sofiyo village in Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State today September 14th.
Confirming the attack, the state police command spokesperson, Kennedy Idrisu, said

“It is true that gunmen attacked and killed eight people in Sofiyo community of the locality. We have also mobilised our men to the scene of the attack to maintain law and order and to forestall further attacks. The injured are currently receiving treatment at the Specialist Hospital, Gwagwalada."

41-year-old man has been electrocuted at the University of Calabar, Calabar, Cross River State.
The victim, Michael Enang Edu, a PHEDC worker was electrocuted while trying to restore power in the university with his colleagues last week.

According to reports, the deceased was trying to work on a faulty line when his colleagues inadvertently turned on the power that was earlier turned off. In the process, he was electrocuted from the high voltage shock and later died.

Dr. Joseph Ekpang, Chairman, Board of Media and Community Relations, University of Calabar, who confirmed he incident, said the man was electrocuted while trying to reconnect power which had been disconnected in error.

Late Edu is survived by two daughters and a pregnant wife.

He would be buried on Saturday, 15th September, 2018 in his home town, Atina-Adadama in Abi Local Government Area of Cross River State.

A suspected kidnapper was, on Wednesday, stoned to death, while two others were arrested at Unguwar Keriya, Gwagwa, Abuja.

The three kidnappers had allegedly attempted to abduct a 3-year-old baby from a residence, however, the baby’s mother caught them in the act and raised alarm.

Her shout attracted other residents who ran after the suspects and one was caught and stoned to death, while the other two were whisked away by the police.

The Dreamville Festival in which Davido was expected to perform in Raleign, North Carolina, U.S. on Saturday has been postponed indefinitely by the organisers due to “Hurricane Florence”.



The U.S. National Hurricane Centre has warned residents of a triple threat of Hurricane Florence in Carolina describing it as `a life threatening storm surge’. The Hurricane is expected to hit Carolina on Thursday, and over 1.5 Million people has been evacuated since the announcement of its advancement.



The indefinite postponement of the Festival was announced by the organisers on their instagram handle @Dreamville and added that monis would be refunded to those that bought tickets.

“Due to safety concerns regarding dangerous weather, we are extremely saddened to announce today that the inaugural Dreamville Festival 2018 been cancelled. Our team has been working tirelessly with officials from the City of Raleigh, along with our state and Federal partners, among others, to monitor the potential negative impact of Hurricane Florence.

With the current weather-related information at hand, we have together decided to cancel this year’s event for the ultimate safety of both local citizens and Festival attendees.

Rest assured we are doing everything our power to make this event happen at a later time and we hope to share details regarding a possible new event date as soon as we possibly can” the organisers said.

The festival which is the inaugural edition was slated to hold on Saturday at Dorothea Dix Park in Raleigh North Carolina. The one-day festival offers attendees a special celebration of music, culture, food and art along with performance from J.cole himself. Meanwhile, Davido was expected to perform alongside Big Sean, Young Thug, Teyena Taylor, Bas, Nelly and SZA. Also, the Festival creator J Cole, his manager Ibrahim Hamad and a host of artists from DreamVille Records were expected to thrill guests at the event.

Peter Ononuju, a renowned prophet with the Celestial Church of Christ, Alfa and Omega parish, Cotonou, Republic of Benin, has been arrested for allegedly defrauding a widow, Oluchi Grace, of N18 million. .

He was alleged to have swindled Grace with the intention of procuring a landed property for her at Lekki area of Lagos state. .

Dan Okoro, the Commissioner of Police in charge of Force Criminal Intelligence and Investigations Department (FCIID), Alagbon close, Ikoyi, Dan Okoro, revealed the victim later discovered that the land belonged to his ex-wife. .

Okoro said detectives discovered that the suspect collected N16 million cash and asked the widow to pay the other N2 million into his bank account, adding that information gathered revealed that the suspect had other intention. .

He advised people to be wary of those who claimed to be pastors during business transaction, saying that they tend to take advantage of the gullible nature of true believers to swindle them of their hard-earned money. .

“The so-called prophet took advantage of the relationship he has with Oluchi Grace to swindle her. From the beginning he had the intention of defrauding the woman. .
.
Later, he started threatening to kill the woman and her children when they discovered that he had swindled them.” The victim said she knew the prophet for over two decades and trusted him as a man of God. .

She said: “I later discovered that the land in question belongs to his ex-wife who is remarried and based in the U.S with her new husband. .
.
My son discovered her contact from her Facebook account. When we contacted her, she told us she was not selling the said property. In fact she rained abuses on us. .
.
When the prophet realized that the game was up, he started threatening to kill us. That was why I ran to the police before anything happens to me or my children.”
