Maximus69: It's nice discussing with you Sir! Please note that Jehovah's Witnesses meant no harm by helping those who are INTERESTED IN IDENTIFYING THE ONE AND ONLY WORSHIP THAT'S PURE! There is a difference between brainwashing people to conform to the believe of an organization and helping people to gain spiritual upliftment. What you do is a methodological and calculated use of watchtower script and template to convince people to follow same ideology. You are recruiting more hands for the watchtower organization. Maximus69: And as per the bolded in your write up i'm sorry Sir, that's an order we can't take from any man! Act 4:19-20 I have no problem with you belieiving in what you want, you will have difficulty when you encounter someone who understood the watchtower philiosophy and who will force you to run out of the laid down scripts and templates, as you guys also rehearsed in your kingdom hall. I have physically debated many JWs who ran out of laid down script and non of them bother coming to my house again. Maximus69: YES it's our duty (as true followers of Jesus) to debunk any form of idolatry that's erected to stand side by side with pure worship! Matthew 23:13-29 It is also a form of idolatory to have 100% faith in a man-made organization, like the watchtower, such that you will be blind to their faults and limitations, and even ready to defend their falsehood. Maximus69: If your form of worship is true as instituted by Jesus, i think you shouldn't be silent in the face of false religions claiming Christians! Romans 10:1-3 Even muslims are more zealous than the JW, and can some terrorist can kill to protect the religion. Zealouness does not make falsehood truthful; it only make the zealout a victim of manipulation from a more intelligent mind who designed his beliefs and shaped his thought pattern. Maximus69: So we're not condemning you, it's false worship that we are condemning. Because we know you can perform better if only you're willing. Act 2:37 You dont even right any right and authoity to condemn me; it is not within your spiritual perview and I am not sure if you have a better relationship with God than me and vice versa. Dont attempt to patronize me with sweet words. Maximus69: Thanks for your time Sir! You are welcome. |

Maximus69: Please brother, can you remind me of any renown cult group globally known for PEACEFULLY claiming EXCLUSIVE RIGHT TO THE TRUTH? Maybe you should learn about JANISM, a religion in India. See link below: https://www.bbc.co.uk/religion/religions/jainism/ataglance/glance.shtmlThe Janist has a religious philosophy that believed in the purity of all souls and that all souls are equal. As part of their religious philosophy, all life is sacred such that you cannot even kill fish, snakes, dogs, human beings, etc if you are a Janist. If a Janist mistakingly step on an ant and the ant dies, he goes for a spiritual cleansing for killing the ant. They are purist to the core in terms of resprcting the sanctity of all lives. The Janist also claim exclusive right to the truth, the same way you have been programmed to think and believe. To the Janist, all religion is impure (including the JW) except theirS because of their extreme religous and moral view. We have about 4.5million Janist worldwide and their population would have swelled if they also visit people from house to house to convince people of their beliefs. |

Maximus69: @true2god
Jehovah's Witnesses are claiming to be the one and only group worshiping JEHOVAH the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in this end time.
Several others (perhaps including yours) may also claiming the same thing. But what makes the JWs the center of attraction is the steadfastness of adherents to maintain the directives given by their organization.
I know you also belong to a religion claiming Christians but you'll rather drop the directives of your religion at the centers and walk away freely without taking such instructions with you, unlike JWs who goes about with the rules of their organization in their hearts! Deuteronomy 6:6-9
I think that's the bone of contention here Sir!
Jesus said he will disown MANY claiming Christians because they are workers of LAWLESSNESS or in another English INIQUITY!
So we really NEED to sort out "what is INIQUITY (LAWLESSNESS)?"
Well to the best of my understanding, humans as intelligent creatures all have functioning brains, and that makes it somehow difficult to maintain law and order amongst humans as each person will feel he could set his/her own standard. ORDERLINESS is when these intelligent creatures (humans) agreed to subject themselves willingly under a form of guidance. The direct opposite of ORDERLINESS is INIQUITY. This is a situation where each and every intelligent creature decides to set his/her own standards, it will definitely lead to contradiction. God is the ruler in the midst of his own people, so unlike those under the influence of Satan(the god of confusion), God's own people must be RECOGNISABLE by their ORDERLINESS. Of course God is working with his holy spirit to ORGANIZE his imperfect intelligent creatures in an ORDERLY manner, so there is no room for excuse to disrupt the orderliness amongst God's people, whoever tries such will be viewed as advocate of LAWLESSNESS (INIQUITY). It's rather advisable to find another group well organized to be called worshippers of the God of ORDERLINESS, instead of trying to disrupt the orderliness that can't be found anywhere else! Matthew 7:15-23
Thanks! Thank you for your time. I have no energy for this unfruitful back and forth. Practice your religion the way that seems ok to you and let others practice theirs. Stop demonizing people's belief in the name of exclusive truth, which is a mirage. Every cult, from time immemorial, always claimed exclusive right to the truth, even with obvious flaws. Exclusivity is the right claim when making a truth statement. All organization claim exclusive right to the truth, it is not a new thing. |

Maximus69: I'm sorry if the switch to Orthodox Churches seems deflective. I'm just trying to be careful on NL because you can be barred anytime for so many reasons.
None of Jehovah's Witnesses will dogmatically insist that we're the one and only Christian group, if there is another RECOGNISABLE and effective PERFORMING group. You yourself said you've been a subscriber of their awake and watchtower magazines since the early 80s! Wow! That's a long time Sir because back then i was still in primary school and i never noticed any religion distinguishing themselves as the one and only Christian group. Today you're saying these after considering all the guessing in their so called new light. We all read in the Bible how Jesus exposed the hypocrisy going on in Judaism {Matthew 6:1-8} So it's not strange if a group of people claiming Christians are working tirelessly to expose the hypocrisy in false religions. We are also aware that the exposed often frown at such declarations and do fight back! John 7:44-49, Act 5:28
Well all that happened during the time the Romans ruled the world and there was relative freedom for speech expression and worship, whoever tries to go beyond such freedom will be dealt with brutally! John 19:1-22
So my questions to you Sir!
(1)Have you now found a group that's performing better than the one who persistently visit you at home back then in the name of Christianity? Matthew 10:11-14
(2)Do you think God's holy spirit is powerless (in this dispensation when the world power "America" have declared freedom of speech expression and worship) to ORGANIZE true Christians as one RECOGNISABLE group? John 17:20-23
(3)Now that you've noticed the mixed up in the teachings/doctrines/dogmas/understanding of Jehovah's Witnesses, do you think every religion claiming Christian is OK for an interested Bible reader who feels like associating with Christians? Hebrew 10:24-25 If you are not abusive or a threat to your fellow NLander nobody will ban you on NL. On the 2nd paragraph, JW directly insisted that they are the only acceptable God's organization on earth. Can you mentioned ANY single RECOGNISABLE and EFFECTIVELY performing group aside the JW? Mention only 1. I never said I have been a subscriber for AWAKE and WATCHTOWER magazines since 1984. What I said is that I have read and studied their publications of 1884 till very recently. I went back to the old publications to do a personal research and found some slight changes in their teachings. If you are working tirelessly to expose others, others are also working tirelessly to expose the dogmas and inconsistencies in your organization. The difference is that others may reason with your arguments but you have been trained/instructed never to accept any dissenting view from a non-JW, except if it is sanctioned by the watchtower organization. On your 1st question, what you indirectly implied is that there is no group that is performing better than the JW. What criteria do you use in determining performance? The US 2nd amendments is not a universal declaration of free speech and never recognized by the UN. It is even ridiculous using the US, who is a protector of everything (both good and bad) as a sign of God's approval. Russia, Saudi Arabia, Iran, etc has banned the work of the JW in their respective countries, why does your God allow that? Even the activities of gays and lesbians are constitutionally protected in the US, so what's your point exactly? I never said all Christian organizations are true. My argument remains you don't make cheap and technical blackmail a cornerstone of your field work. You can still present your message maturely and reasonable without always condemning others collectively as 'the Christendom' and 'Babylon the great' and at the same time claim exclusive victim of persecution. Your organization has consistently lied that you are the most persecuted group in whole world, to make a fake martyr, and at the same time claim the group with the longest hours visiting non-JWs in their private residence, how do you reconcile that? |

*Compare John16:16-18. *Luke 19:11 While they were listening to this, he went on to tell them a parable, because he was near Jerusalem and the people thought that the kingdom of God was going to appear at once." ## In the voice of independent thinkers: "This is a high level deceit and misinformation, indoctrination and brainwashing by Jesus... even his disciples are saying that the kingdom of God was going to appear at once, IMMEDIATELY.," fake prophecy..
** Luke 24:44-45 NKJV Then He said to them, “These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.” And HE OPENED THEIR UNDERSTANDING, that hey might COMPREHEND the Scriptures."
**## In the voice of independent thinkers: " Ehn !! Jesus Christ is still teaching them !! His disciples who said "that the kingdom of God was going to appear at IMMEDIATELY" fake prophecy. You can hardly see any disciple of Jesus with an independent thinking.... He brainwashed & indoctrinated them" *** JWs go still dey everly get sense pass una, because arrogance has dulled una sense of reasoning and understanding. Can you see how unreasonable you are? Instead of the 'watchtower' to admit that they have misled you guys with their fake prophesies, which were even date-specific, they rather quoted and juxtaposed Bible verses to get off the hook and you accepted this hook, line and sinker. They marketed 1914., 1935, 1974 and 1984 for you as the time for the 'end of the system of things', which are dogmas and obvious lies, and instead of them to apologize for their error (and move on) they rather looked for Bible verses to combine in order to justify their error and transfer the blame to the members like you who failed to use his brain. You dont have to be a genius to get these tricks but the level of loyalty you have for the organization, not God, has blinded you to see that you have been scammed big time. Think for yourself for once, don't be afraid to personally and independently search the Scriptures to see if what you are being fed through 'awake' and 'watchtower' are true or false. I was once a fan of CNN until 2016 when I started to doubt the quality of their news reporting. What did I do, I decided to always compare any news from CNN with other news network then I discovered that CNN is the greatest carrier of fake news. You can never know if watchtower is the greatest carrier of fake gospel until you do your home-work independently. Do your or research bro, don't let them threaten you with disfellowshipping and separation from your family and loved ones. I keep say, it's only gullible people JWs can deceive. The guy is not gullible, it is part of the training they receive at the kingdom halls. When a JW is in doubt, never accept a superior argument/fact from a non-JW until you get a confirmation from the elders. No independent thinking at all. Maximus69: Perhaps you thought you've gotten the point but sincerely speaking you've not Sir!
First of all, Jehovah's Witnesses never claim to be the one telling people about the past of the Orthodox Churches. We only do so to alert all the religious groups hanging firmly on what the Orthodox Churches laid down! The doctrines of all these Churches were taken from the beliefs of the Orthodox Churches with the exemption of just one the BORN AGAIN ideology! Apart from this, everything the Churches claims they believe is not different from that of the existing Orthodox Churches. It was one by one that the Orthodox Churches themselves after a long time struggle began PROTESTING and leaving their mother religion "Catholic". To distinguish each of them, they remove one thing from the dogma and that was how they continue until they now formed alliance to fight any other religion that's coming up to challenge the DOGMAS upon which all the Orthodox Churches agreed! It was America that declared freedom of speech, expression and worship. And so many protesters who are still finding faults with the doctrines of the Orthodox Churches were able to start their own groups. That's why Europe has lesser of this modern day Churches than America! As for the power in God's word that's denied, i think our understanding differs on the subject. How? ~At Hebrew 4:12 we read that God's word has power to REACH THE HEART. ~1Corinthians 1:10 stated that believers MUST HAVE THE SAME LINE OF THOUGHT. ~John 17:20-23 Jesus said his followers will be united as one big body. ~Isaiah 2:1-4 Says God's people during the end time will settle all their differences amongst themselves and none of them will work in the military services. ~Matthew 28:19-20 Jesus commands his followers to go and speak with people, TEACH them all his rules. ~Galatians 5:22-23 A true Christian group must be hard working in ensuring that the nine qualities mentioned here are clearly visible amongst them, so that there will be NO LAW formed by any human government that will be justified against their gathering, because their righteousness is God's handiwork! Isaiah 54:17
With all of these in mind, i think any religion that's claiming Christians but aren't up and doing in all these aspects is certainly having a form of godliness but denying the efficiency (work) of God's holy spirit! You have started again and you seem to have been subconsciously programmed to deflect and confused issues in order to blur the key points. I am talking about the JW using the Catholics as a soft target in their field work by attacking their past in order to shame them into guilt and present the watchtower alternative. Why are you now lumping everything together as 'Orthodox church'? You are also guilty of the same dogma you accused the Catholic church of peddling. You thought about 1914 end of the 'system of things'. You predicted that the generation that saw 1914 will not pass away until 'the end of current system of things'. Are these not dogmas? Why accuse others of being dogmatic which you are also manufacturing your own dogmas rather exponentially than the people you try to shame? Will, or can, you explain the past and current JW position on the 'king of the north' and the 'king of the south'? It is baffling when you think no one pays attention to the JWs flip-flops. Remove the wool in your eyes so that you can see clearly as an optician. |

rottennaija: Jehovah's Witnesses believe, Jehovah's Witnesses believe... It's as if you certainly assume God's is bound by the believes of JWs. If JWs believes has been fool proof, how many of your beloved beliefs has been proven false by the passage of time? Should I list them?
Identities of King of the North and south? Identity of faithful and discreet slave Year of Jesus enthronement in heaven? Blood doctrine? Organ transplants? Vaccination? Year of heavenly calling ending? This generation? Overlapping generations?
Should I continue? In all of these, you have not learn a simple truth the God's word, God's will, his actions or activities are not bound by Jehovah's Witnesses believes.
All the current beliefs you have today calling them truth will someday be discarded in favour of something new when it no longer makes sense. And you are here shouting Jehovah's Witnesses believes, Jehovah's Witnesses believes, Jehovah Witnesses believe.
Honestly! You people have no shame I can't agree with you more. The level of indoctrination and brainwashing that JWs are subjected to by the 'watchtower' organization is sickening. I have read about the so-called 'king of the north' and 'king of the south' of JW's Bible 'truth' and I was amazed by the level of lies and spinning there. Two different editions of their publications 'what the Bible REALLY teaches' (as if the Bible is coded) presented completely two different powers as 'the king of the north' and 'the King of the south'. And trust me, the JWs are skillfully coached (brainwashed) on how to present an answer whenever an informed person challenged them with these contradictions. You can't box a JW in a corner; they rehearsed all their responses skillfully before coming to the public. You can hardly see any JW with an independent thinking without following the 'watchtower' script and template as designed by the organization. It is also more worrisome when, and if challenged, about yye changes in their doctrines, they either deny outrightly (or ask for evidence) or tell you 'the light is getting brighter'. This is a high level deceit and misinformation by the organization. |
Islam › Re: Women's Inheritance Laws In Judaism And Christianity by true2god: 8:36am On Nov 17, 2019 |
Rashduct4luv: When you people quote your Book you say" the Bible says..." We understand this to mean it can be anyone talking whether God, man of God, enemy of God, wise man, foolish man, etc. The Bible should have only contain NT since the OT is almost irrelevant for Christians. But it's amazing when you preach in your churches using the OT when it comes to tithes and your mode of worship. Jesus Christ and his 12 disciples never sang songs nor clapped in worship. Are these two ceremonial, moral or dietary laws?
Not all laws were given by God in the OT so people too do write scriptures on their own? The claim that the Bible is the word of God is false since societal laws are in the Bible. Doesn't this even negates your criticism of the Arabian culture among Muslims? Christianity does not change the traditions of a community. So if christians enters a community where idolatory is being practised, the people of the community will be left alone to worship their idols since it's their tradition abi? The Christians you say stopped the tradition of killing twins, why do they need to interfer with the custom of the people and then convert them to christians? How do you know which custom is good or bad? When it doesn't go against Bible teachings it's good right? But when Muslims do same they are terrorists!
The custom of the Hausas is to usually marry more than one wife. Once an Hausa becomes a Christian, he does not obey this custom anymore. Is this not custom changed with Christian law?
What has the Islam impose on Muslims living in Nigeria as a whole? When the missionaries invade our territories giving our forefathers who were Muslims Christian names for them to have Western education, this is not cultural conquest and mental colonisation. It is outright christianization!
The Islamic state is for Islam and Muslims. Whoever is not pleased is not tied down there. You are in Nigeria or wherever, if you ain't pleased with your situation then migrate. As Muslims pay Zakah so the non-Muslims should have been left to pay nothing and enjoy protection and development for free. Unlike Islam, Christianity does not patronize intellectual dishonesty. The mantra, 'the Bible is the word of God' is a generic statement to summarize the biblio (collection of books). The Bible is made of many books written by men under the inspiration of God, while others were written (by men) to guide the day to day activities of the society. There is no shame in that. But Islam made a claim that all the contents of the Quran (100%) are from Allah but facts and evidences have proved you wrong multiple times. The Quran contains the words and suggestion of Omar ibn kathab, the opinion and suggestion of many of the sahabas, and also Mohammed's personal desires. Look at the ayah below: Sahih International (Quran 33:53): O you who have believed, do not enter the houses of the Prophet except when you are permitted for a meal, without awaiting its readiness. But when you are invited, then enter; and when you have eaten, disperse without seeking to remain for conversation. Indeed, that [behavior] was troubling the Prophet, and he is shy of [dismissing] you. But Allah is not shy of the truth. And when you ask [his wives] for something, ask them from behind a partition. That is purer for your hearts and their hearts. And it is not [conceivable or lawful] for you to harm the Messenger of Allah or to marry his wives after him, ever. Indeed, that would be in the sight of Allah an enormity. Of course, as a very brainwashed person, you will believe that a god is not busy and will have time to give this ridiculous instruction. To Muslims, Allah is the speaking here but for over 80% of non-muslims part of humanity, this is the word of an insecure man who is not comfortable with the presence of men around his wives. Read the tafsir of Ibn Kathie to get the exegesis of this ayah and you will discover that Mohammed is funnier than basketmouth, the comedian. Of course the Europeans, though very bad set of people, introduced Christianity but never attempt to destroy local laws and customs (I never mentioned traditional religion) which are good. The invading Arabs always seek to destroy anything on the part and arabize the society. Look at Ilorin and look at Ekiti! I am happy you admitted that Islamic state is oppressive to non-muslims and they are free to leave the Islamic state if they can't cope with the oppressive laws of Islam. Remember, before Islam, the Christians, the Jews and the sabians are the traditional owners of the Arabia before Islamic invasion, conquest and the imposition of the Jizya. Do not complain if the Jews are giving the Palestinians a very small dose of the Islamic medicine. |

Maximus69: Jehovah's Witnesses are people who believe in the instruction that's based on facts from the Bible, NOT every wind of teachings!
Note that all the publications is based on what the Bible says NOT some varying testimonies from different persons. You would have been pleased if your visitor (JW) agreed with you that it's God's voice you heard since it has resulted in what you WANTED.
Well that's how different religions came into existence all in the name of Christianity. Granted, the Catholic Church fought dirty during the dark ages to prevent people from forming different religions in the name of Christ. What killed their works is POLITICS. They were using the influence of politics to do this, unlike the first century Christians who will just stand firm again segregation WITHOUT the use of force, the Catholics were killing people for speaking against the teachings of their Church!
Jehovah's Witnesses took to the idea of the first century Christians, they will simply separate themselves from you if you're intently arguing in support of the so called voice you heard instead of remaining in Union with the rest of the congregation! Our teachings are STRICTLY based on what we carefully read, diligently studied, thoroughly meditated and fervently prayed upon before we all come to an agreement globally, NOT some testimonies of different individuals from different races claiming they heard God's voice saying different things only to boost either their material increase or save them from dying!
Let us be sincere with this. You know perfectly well that what you heard has NOTHING to do with integrity keeping nor instructions on how to preach and teach people God's word effectively in your neighborhood. Your major concern is how to solve your immediate problem. So how does that stand as the bases to teach people who never heard the spirit that spoke to you? It's either they also hear the same voice telling them something else that PERSONALLY benefit them or they start coming to you so that you can intercede for them with the God who spoke with you. Well that's how many became Pastors/Church founders and start opening centers for worship! And their idea will differ from all the existing Churches around otherwise they should have joined the existing Churches if they have the same line of thought with them! I understand you point, the God of the JW is docile and powerless and any spiritual experience a JW has must be from the devil. So, you have no reason to believe what others may believe, and according to the scripture, except it is approved by the 'watchtower' as the 'Bible Truth'. This is the exact position you maintained. I am not a Catholic and I don't believe in most of their teachings and practices, and many other Churches share my sentiment. However, the JW is the only organization that is built on blackmailing them, and others, as an official religious policy. It is a known fact that in the medieval Europe, there is no separation of the Church and the state which effectively made the Catholic church both the political and the spiritual head of the state. Of course the Catholic church was brutal (it is not the JW that made people aware of this fact), about 500-700 years ago, however it is disingenuous for the watchtower to make it a defacto official policy to use their past to shame and blackmail them. and at the same time claim exclusive right to a nonexisting persecution. Why is the 'watchtower' not devoting their intellectual energies in blackmailing churches like the Depperlife, the apostolic faith, the redeemed Christian church if God, etc? This is because they will get no result hence prefer to go for the soft target. As for the points you raised concerning my spiritual experience, see what I wrote earlier: The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit (1 cor. 2:14). The JW is a carnal organization and considered all spiritual matters foolish because they don't have the spirit, or believe in the spirit of God. The only thing acceptable must come through the governing body and not from the Spirit of God. Having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people, like the JW.(2 Tim 3:5). There is power in godliness, part of which is prayer, fasting, alm giving and supplication. The Bible advised true Christians to avoid such (like the JW) who deny the power of/in godliness, the same way you are displaying here. |

In all my engagement, I never even made mention of Christmas or birthday but you are technically dragging me there. I have a better thing to do and I don't think argue with the JWs is one of them. Do me a favour, go and ask your elders if JT Russell, the founder of the JW, will be resurrected )or very ignorant) during his time because he celebrated birthday, Christmas and Easter. Study your Bible independently and don't let the watchtower lie to you that you can become an apostate if you do so, without using their 'what the Bible really teaches' booklet or 'watchtower' magazines. Dont allow the men in Brooklyn determine what you should or should not believe as the Bible truth. Rashduct4luv: In the OT which law exists back then? Law of God or that of man? So when did God permit man to make laws in the NT? When God was making laws for the nation in the OT it is acceptable but when Islam claims their God is the law maker now wahala dey! I think it's just because Christianity has no law and the OT laws are too tough to use. Also you can't take one and leave others. It will be hypocrisy. Except the law of tithes of cos.
Who designed each society to operate a moral justice system where societal order is maintained? Is LGBT+& fornication societal order? Is it only Shariah law that is applicable to only the poor and not common law? We have seen it many times in our country where the rich gets away but the poor is not spared. That happens everywhere. But the Shariah is for all whether rich or poor.
Muslims pay Zakah to the Islamic State while non-Muslims pay Jizyah. And what is the context of Qur'an 9:29 that you mentioned? In all your statement you deliberately refused to mention the Jews, rather you use the world 'OT' in place of the Jews. It is common fact that the Jews have the Old testament laws, what is commonly known as 'the laws of moses'. In our past discussion, I told you that the Jewish law (the OT) is made up of the moral law, the dietary law (like not eating pork) and the ceremonial laws (sacrifice and ablutions before entering the synagogue). While the moral laws remains intact, like the 10 commandments, the dietary and the ceremonial laws have been mostly done away with after the coming of the new dispensation in Christ. The laws were fulfilled in Christ. And I told you that the Jews, before now, do yearly sacrifice of animals for the atonement of sins ( as part of the law) but it is no longer necessary because Christ's death was the final atonement for sins, so the religious sacrifice of animals were no longer necessary. This is how the law was fulfilled here. Not all laws in the old testament was given directly by God. Some were made by the society. Some laws, like the laws that deal with divorce, was not given by God but by the judges to solve urgent marital issues. It was not in God's plan for husband and wife to separate (Malachi 2:16). So when Christ came, he reemphasized the need for sanctity in marriage and taught that under no circumstances is divorce acceptable except for the sake of formication. But in the OT Jewish law, a man is free to divorce his wife anyhow and anytime he wants. You said Christianity has no law, this is a statement from ignorance. 99% of the world were not Christians as at 2100 years ago but each of the worlds, or societies, has their own moral and traditional laws that guide their day to day activities. When Christianity was introduced to some societies, it was not meant to erode the local laws and customs but to complement and make it better. In calabar, before the Christian era, the customs and traditions made it compulsory that twins must be killed. It was the Christian missionaries that abolished this customs and that does not mean that the people of calabar should abandon the good side of their customs and make their society a society that should be 100% governed by the Christians laws. That's cultural appropriation and will destroy local community. A society can maintain their local customs and laws and still be a Christian community. It is only the Arab-muslims that seek to destroy the tradition of a local community and impose an Arabic laws and tradition on them. This is cultural conquest and mental colonialism. The Muslims pay zakak while the Jews and the Christians are expected to pay the jizya with WILLING SUBMISSION and feel themselves SUBDUED (Qur'an 9:29). Jizya payment is to humiliate, subdue and disgrace Christians and the Jews in an Islamic state. Zakat is never meant to subdue or disgrace the Muslims but the Jizya is charged to humiliate the Christians, or they convert to Islam. Most people who cannot withstand Islamic humiliation chosed to become Muslims in order to avoid the humiliation of paying the Jizya. |

TATIME: You've said it all!
You don't mind what my response might be
In other words you've made up your mind in support of any form of worship as long as it's IN JESUS NAME and working out what the worshipers want!
Well God warned his people not to engage in some forms of spiritistic practices, while those who completely believe or trusted the words of their God keep this words at heart, their King who is desperate to hear something from God disobeyed that order! 1Samuel 28, Exodus 22:18, Leviticus 19:31,20:6
We are Jehovah's Witnesses and our own Faith is never shakened because of whatever we see happening around us! Hebrew 10:38, 11:1

TATIME: First of all let me remind you that we are talking about the worshipers of a JEALOUS God who detests any form of worship that differs SLIGHTLY from his stipulated rules.Deuteronomy 5:32
This God has always been furious at his own people if they should in any way agree with any other FORM of worship. Deuteronomy 20:16-20
That is the HERITAGE of his worshippers, they don't accept any form of worship that's not in total compliance with what they were taught. Isaiah 54:17
That is why i agreed with Jehovah's Witnesses after thoroughly considering the feebleness of other religions claiming Christians. Jesus during his ministry publicly said 'Mary (his mother) and his siblings are NOT his mother and brothers' (Matthew 12:19) simply because they're not in agreement with him regarding worship!
Jesus clearly stated that for anyone to be his mother, brother or sister, such a person must fully comply with his ideas concerning WORSHIP!
Well, it's fine to be a Christian but it's preposterous when you feel indifferent towards countless religious ideas all claiming Christians with contradictions! 2John 10-11
Please, i have not heard such voice as you and i don't think it's automatically from God simply because it has favoured you MATERIALLY! Act 16:16-23
Did you notice the spirit that spoke through that girl? Was the spirit saying what's wrong by calling Paul and Silas the servants of the most high God? What about how it has been bringing gains to the Master of the possessed girl? What would you have done if you're the Master of that girl? Will you have acted differently if Paul and Silas told you that what has been bringing you favour materially is of the devil?
Please keep considering these things! Philippians 4:7-9 That's the problem I have. with JW; destroy what you don't accept or believe and back it up with a weak and unrelated bible verse. You may not believe in prayer and fasting, and I respect your opinion, but it is biblical. We have familiar spirit and we have the spirit from/of God. No any sincere Christian, after weeks of fasting, prayers and supplication to God and God blessed him and manifested the answered prayer with assurance in the dreams, will make the statement you just make and use a biblical example to nullify God's blessing in someone life. That's both evil on your part and equally showed the level of evil and false teachings going on at the watchtower, cover in 'Christian' mask. I don't want to delve into a long and unprofitable biblical jogglings because it will waste my time and profits us nothing. My believe still remain that if one prays, fast and give alms to the poor, with a clean and a sincere heart, every closed doors will be opened in a man's life. God's mercy will 100% visit such a person. It is a spiritual law that only a JW can dispute because the governing body said it is not possible, not because you think or believe so. Over 99% of what you people is from the governing body and you don't have independent spiritual or Christian experience. And FYA, I don't belong to any denominations, although I identify myself as a Christian. I read my Bible, do my prayers and cry to God in need and distress and he only answer me. Let me share another experience I had. At a point in time I never used to checking on my siblings. One night in my sleep, I heard a voice asking me if I normally call or check on my siblings and I answered 'yes' (I lied here). The voice started mentioning their names one after the other and all my answer were 'yes'. I worked up and decided that I will always call my siblings, no matter what. I know you are not meant to believe this, like a typical atheist (there is a thin line between atheism and JW. JW is a religious side of atheism with a God called Jehovah) so I don't mind what your response might be. |

TATIME: I love your profile name~ (TRUE to GOD)
I wasn't born a JW, and i think that's a good reason to see things from different sides.
I noticed that they always claim to be the one and only worshipers of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. When i was still practicing Islam, we were taught that all those claiming Christians are going to hellfire because they rejected the last prophet (who came with a totally different ideology from those of renown prophets of ancient times) I kept asking my teachers questions regarding this but they made me believe that God have rejected the nation of Israel and chosen another nation. But what is the reason why God rejected the Jews and what are the fruitage that the newly chosen nation will bear for identification? There was NO specific answer!
When i met the JWs they made me believe that God's way of revealing SACRED SECRETS to his servants is in gradual process not once! What Noah knew about God surpassed that of Abel, Methuselah and Enoch. What Abraham knew about God surpassed those of Noah's generation. What Moses knew about God surpassed that of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. What later Generation of God's worshipers knew surpassed that of all the early servants of God. What the Christians knew about God surpassed that of ancient faithful servants of the same God!
Yet, at every given time whoever fails to IDENTIFY the worship having God's approval is on his own! Jesus made this clear when he said to a Samaritan wowan at Jacob's well 'you (referring to Samaritans) worship what you don't know, we (referring to Jews) worship what we know because SALVATION originates with the Jews'. John 4:22 Now both the Jews and Samaritans were Jacob's descendants (Israelites), when Jesus made that statement! Jesus further clarified the matter by saying 'a time is coming and it's now when pure worship will not be determined by geographical location like mount Gerizin (Samaria) or mount Zion(Jerusalem)' John 4:23
Jesus' followers knew so many things that he taught them and he promised that after he's return to heaven, Gods holy spirit will come and teach them ALL THINGS! John 14:26
I don't think the understanding of Jesus' true followers will remain unchangeable according to what Jesus said here, and that doesn't implies that they will not be able to standout from all the false religions Jesus foretold that will also claim to be Christians! Matthew 7:21-23 I am a natural student of comparative religion and I can tell you, respectfully, that I have read over 40% of your 'Awake' and 'watchtower' magazines from the 1984 editions till date. I can tell you that I am very familiar with their writing style, like a typical Barcelona football style, which are often recycled and very predictable. What I have come to realize that in over 90% of the publications, it is either the Catholics are bashed or other Christian denominations are demonized. The magazines will never say any positive thing about other Christian congregation and it is so bad that the JW governing body didn't even consider the fact that we have 1000s of Christian denominations and the JW is also one out of the 1000s. The rest are 'the Christendom', 'Babylon the great', 'the spiritual harlot', 'the false brethren' and other official derogatory terms used, by the JW, to qualify the rest. If you are a sincere person who won't deny these facts. The JW can just 'do their things' without technically insulting others. If an organization based their teachings on apologetics and polemics then they should be ready to also get their beliefs scrutinized and criticised, which many of us do. I once told my JW friend, who normally visit me for a Bible discussion, that I once prayed and fasted for about one week and I slept and heard a voice telling me 'I have blessed you'. The JW friend, in my house and in my presence told me it was the devil that spoke to me. That's the last time I entertain any JW in my house. You guys don't seem to have or set boundaries for criticising others. And FYA, I got THREE jobs the very month I heard that voice in my sleep. |

TATIME: You're right you know, but one thing that's not clear to me is 'how come Jehovah's Witnesses do go to visit people in their neighborhood if they hate other religionists?'
I think this is not about attacks on individuals but false worship!
Please can you stand for your own religion to prove that it's according to the scriptures and not just another religion organized to add to the existing religions in our neighborhood?
I think that's what Jehovah's Witnesses are doing and that's exactly what attracted other's attention to them for hatred.
If you're a Christian, i think your duty is to help others in your neighborhood to come and worship the only true God (just as JWs are doing) if our forms of worship contradicts each other then it's not true that we are worshiping the same God!
Satan have held people in the dark for thousands of years, when majority thought they're worshiping the same Almighty God whereas the real worshipers keep saying it's not so! John 4:19-22
As a Christian, you should be able to stand firm and explain from the Bible that yours is the one and only form of worship that's approved by God. And that's exactly what Jehovah's Witnesses are doing. I think that's why all other religionists who also aren't in agreement conspired to criticise the Jehovah's Witnesses. For instance, where do you worship? Is your form of worship in line with the ideologies of others commenting against the JWs? If it's not, are you now saying God has no specific standards to distinguish pure worship from false worship?
I think that's what Jehovah's Witnesses have been trying to help others understand! Truth is subjective; one man's truth is another man's falsehood. What gives you the impression that what you are teaching as the gospel truth is not false? It is highly hypocritical to malign people in your magazines and visit same people in their homes with a smiling face. Many a times the JW has changed their doctrines with the claim that 'the light is getting brighter', especially when challenged by an informed person. If JW can be modifying their teachings to conform with their new 'discoveries', what gives you the assurance that your current teachings won't be regarded as false tomorrow? The idea of abusing and maligning other people's beliefs is bad because JW is equally not stable in their teachings. The founding fathers of JW taught many things, as absolute truth, which the current population of JW are currently teaching as false. Stop this idea of moral superiority because your organization lives on blackmailing others and at the same time shout about a fictitious persecution from no one. |

Rashduct4luv: What does Christian laws say about the subject matter? Nothing like 'the christian law'. No nation call their law 'christian laws', 'Budist law', 'Hindu law', 'Shinto law', 'Judaistic law', etc. Only in Islam we see such and it makes no sense because community is expected to operate a legal system that will accomodate the concern of everyone. Even in the so-called sharia laws, the law apply only to the poor and sharia laws are often used to oppress non-muslims, especially the apostasy and the blasphemy laws. As I said earlier, there is nothing like christian law because each society is designed to operate a moral justice system where societal order is maintained and the interest of all citizens are protected. In sharia law, non-cittizens are dihmmi who are to pay protection fees to the state (quran 9:29), convert to Islam, or die. |

Rashduct4luv: Do you have any evidence to support this from the Qur'an or Sunnah? I see you have no defense for Christianity. Muslim coutries is the worst place to be a woman because Islamic countries has the highest level of misogyny worldwide; this is a statement of fact. On the evidence I have for all what I listed, you need to ask the government of Saudi arabia and Iran; they understand Islam more than you. Saudi arabia follow sunnah to the latter and their ulama who made those laws are not novice when it comes to Islamic laws and jurisprudence. As for the defense of christianity (or Judaism), aside religion, every region has it local laws and customs that make provision of women in terms of inheritance. These customs are not cast in stone, they evolve as the society changes. In Yoruba culture, the women has full inheritance at the demise of his/her parent. In Igbo culture, only the sons have full inheritance. However an Igbo man can decide to make his will, and will all (or some) his properties to his daughter and his right will be protected by the civil law that trumps traditional law. Every society has its own way of handling the issue of inheritance and Islamic or arab culture can and should never be used as a standard for that. Islamic law is synonymous to arab customs because over 80% of arab customs and traditions are not in the quran but in the hadith, most content which are tailored towards medivial arab society. As someone also mentioned earlier, your prophet also said that the largest percentage of inhabitants of hell are women and that women are also mentally deficient. If you need the hadith I will provide them for you. So stop speaking as if your prophet is basically for propecting women. How many female millionaires and enterprenuers do we have in the arab world? Women are traditionally placed at the back seat in the Islamic bus. |

Rashduct4luv: We should ask you and your folks that question "why the obsession with Muslims?" Hindus and Buddhists do not invade/derail our thread here. And of cos the major religions are Islam, Christianity and Judaism... The problem started with Mohammed and his messengers who viewed Christians and Jews as religious rivals, the same way Man City views Liverpool as a rival. If mohammed had just do his things and leave the Jews and the Christians alone their will be no issue. Even your al-fathiha (ayah 6-7) is all about Jews and Christian bashing. On the topic, muslim women are worst treated compared to women of other faith (or no faith at all). In a real muslim society like Saudi Arabia or Iran, women are: 1) Not allowed to go out alone 2) Not allowed to travel alone 3) Not alloweed to testify in the court of law against a man. 2-women testimony is equal to a 1-man testimony. 4) Not allowed to chose their own husbands; over 90% of marriages are arranged amd most of them are 1st cousin marriages. 5) Not allowed to drive. 6) Not allowed to come out without full covering, especially in saudi arabia. Iran allowed compulsory scarfs and it is punishable by long term imprisonment if a woman does not put on her head scarf.etc. Muslim coutries is the worst place to be a woman because Islamic countries has the highest level of misogyny worldwide. |

Rashduct4luv: Click to read Women's Inheritance Laws In Islam
What is the stance of the current Jewish and Christian scriptures on women’s inheritance? We can say that the stance of the Christians is summarized in this statement in Mathew [5: 17] where it says, “17Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.” This indicates that the Christians’ viewpoint is subordinate to that of the Jews and is derived from the laws of the Old Testament. So, let us check the holy scriptures of the Jews and Christians to be acquainted with their point of view on that issue as part of the way they regard women. In these scriptures, women are not entitled to inheritance, and they have the right to inheritance only in one case: when they do not have male siblings.
The Book of Numbers [27: 8-11] reads: 8 “Say to the Israelites, ‘If a man dies and leaves no son, turn his inheritance over to his daughter. 9 If he has no daughter, give his inheritance to his brothers. 10 If he has no brothers, give his inheritance to his father’s brothers. 11 If his father has no brothers, give his inheritance to the nearest male relative in his clan, that he may possess it. This is to be a legal requirement for the Israelites, as the LORD commanded Moses.’”
Thus, their holy book gives all the inheritance to male children. If the deceased leaves no male children, only then his female children can inherit him. What is even worse for the woman is that she is not only deprived of inheritance, but also deprived of her dowry -- a right that Islam grants her. Moreover, she is the one required to pay a dowry to the one who proposes to her. She pays him so that he will agree to marry her. Otherwise, she will remain a spinster. In fact, talking about the issue of women’s inheritance in Jewish and Christian scriptures is pointless, because women themselves are part of the inheritance as deemed by Jews and Christians. The widow is part of the inheritance belonging to her husband’s brother, who would consequently marry her even if she does not approve of him or even hates him. In reality, this process is not marriage in the known sense of the word; rather, it is inheritance or, more precisely, rape.
The Book of Deuteronomy [25: 5-7] reads: 5 If brothers are living together and one of them dies without a son, his widow must not marry outside the family. Her husband’s brother shall take her and marry her and fulfill the duty of a brother-in-law to her. 6 The first son she bears shall carry on the name of the dead brother so that his name will not be blotted out from Israel. 7 However, if a man does not want to marry his brother’s wife, she shall go to the elders at the town gate and say, “My husband’s brother refuses to carry on his brother’s name in Israel. He will not fulfill the duty of a brother-in-law to me.”
They considered the woman a mere animal that is inherited by the family of the deceased who are absolutely free to dispose of her. Has anyone read, heard or imagined a more offensive way of degrading women, their humanity, femininity and chastity than this? As the previous text from the book of Deuteronomy is the Canon (or The Rule), let us read about the application of this Canon in the Book of Genesis [38: 6-11]:
6 Judah got a wife for Er, his firstborn, and her name was Tamar. 7 But Er, Judah’s firstborn, was wicked in the LORD’s sight; so the LORD put him to death. 8 Then Judah said to Onan, “Lie with your brother’s wife and fulfill your duty to her as a brother-in-law to produce offspring for your brother.” 9 But Onan knew that the offspring would not be his; so whenever he lay with his brother’s wife, he spilled his semen on the ground to keep from producing offspring for his brother. 10 What he did was wicked in the LORD’s sight; so he put him to death also. 11 Judah then said to his daughter-in-law Tamar, “Live as a widow in your father’s house until my son Shelah grows up.” For he thought, “He may die too, just like his brothers.” So Tamar went to live in her father’s house.
This text narrates the application of the theory of inheriting the widow by the deceased’s brother. The example here applies to Er, the son of Judah who died and left his wife, Tamar. Therefore, Judah commanded his son Onan, Er’s brother, to live with his brother’s widow so as to give birth to a boy carrying the name of Er. Is there any dissolution worse than this?
Let us complete the worst part of the story. When Onan knew that his children from Tamar will carry the name of his dead brother, not his own name, he did not approach Tamar. Therefore, the God of the Holy Book became angry with Onan and put him to death. Consequently, Judah ordered his daughter-in-law Tamar to go back to her father’s home until his third brother grows up and inherits her.
The Book of Genesis [38: 12-26] continues the story: 12 After a long time Judah’s wife, the daughter of Shua, died. When Judah had recovered from his grief, he went up to Timnah, to the men who were shearing his sheep, and his friend Hirah the Adullamite went with him. 13 When Tamar was told, “Your father-in-law is on his way to Timnah to shear his sheep,” 14 she took off her widow’s clothes, covered herself with a veil to disguise herself, and then sat down at the entrance to Enaim, which is on the road to Timnah. For she saw that, though Shelah had now grown up, she had not been given to him as his wife. 15 When Judah saw her, he thought she was a prostitute, for she had covered her face. 16 Not realizing that she was his daughter-in-law, he went over to her by the roadside and said, “Come now, let me sleep with you.” “And what will you give me to sleep with you?” she asked. 17 ”I’ll send you a young goat from my flock,” he said. “Will you give me something as a pledge until you send it?” she asked. 18 He said, “What pledge should I give you?” “Your seal and its cord, and the staff in your hand,” she answered. So he gave them to her and slept with her, and she became pregnant by him. 19 After she left, she took off her veil and put on her widow’s clothes again. 20 Meanwhile Judah sent the young goat by his friend the Adullamite in order to get his pledge back from the woman, but he did not find her. 21 He asked the men who lived there, “Where is the shrine prostitute who was beside the road at Enaim?” “There hasn’t been any shrine prostitute here,” they said. 22 So he went back to Judah and said, “I didn’t find her. Besides, the men who lived there said, ‘There hasn’t been any shrine prostitute here.’” 23 Then Judah said, “Let her keep what she has, or we will become a laughingstock. After all, I did send her this young goat, but you didn’t find her.” 24 About three months later Judah was told, “Your daughter-in-law Tamar is guilty of prostitution, and as a result she is now pregnant.” Judah said, “Bring her out and have her burned to death!” 25 As she was being brought out, she sent a message to her father-in-law. “I am pregnant by the man who owns these,” she said. And she added, “See if you recognize whose seal and cord and staff these are.” 26 Judah recognized them and said, “She is more righteous than I, since I wouldn’t give her to my son Shelah.” And he did not sleep with her again. It is strange that this incest produced a person who is well-acclaimed according to the gospels. It is Jesus Christ, the God of the Christians. Once more, but not the last time, who does justice to women and who wrongs them?
