Nomyth: It's obvious some vested interests are aggressively pushing the agenda of this local coach on Nigerian fans and are using the bogus line of the NFF being broke as justification.
The NFF made it unequivocally clear that they were going for a foreign technical adviser following our last match but we still have some journalists telling us the NFF is too broke to appoint one.
Let's face it, the idea that the NFF is broke is just a myth. The same NFF was going to renew Pasero's contract after the Afcon.
The same NFF openly declared that they preferred another foreign coach to replace Pasero before being rail roaded into appointing Finidi with the compelling reason that he has being with the team.
How much are they even going to pay a foreign coach that they can't afford? 50k -75k USD per month.
That comes to just between 600k and 900k USD P.A. and u sincerely believe the NFF cannot comfortably afford that? The NFF’s mandate is to get a foreign coach. When they do that the sports ministry and Presidency will take it from there. All these people pushing for local coach do not mean well for our football. |

Kog45: Do yo know how old is Finidi, coming out to say what?see I hate it when one is trying to support nonsense just cus one is a fan.
I respect and rate Osimhen highly but some attitude is no no for me,talking and disrespecting people anyhow,on top wetin….Stephen Keshi was banned from Nigeria football and left the country as a sad young boy but never disrespected Nigeria. The same Keshi was maligned by Alex Akinyemi on live television watched by millions of Nigerians but Keshi did not respond.
Recently Sadiq had issues with eagles, dropped from Afcon team but never go online ranting. He had issue with Finidi too but never go on IG ranting but for some to condemn the act they are bringing in contexture respect of white men.
Sincerely the issue is not about Finidi but our APOTY winner on IG talking like Portable, disrespecting Nigerians, reacted to unsubstantiated rumors that till date no one can come out to substantiate.
Next thing was another angle to the baseless story that Finidi said this to few friends and one of them went ahead to tell Osimhen and next,VO to went on IG,cursing people,if it is true is that not stupidly for VO to react in that manner.
Just check thegoodjoe and TheSuperNerd responses on the issue and you see perfectly comments, they condemned VO but to some VO can’t do wrong.
As you said we should let it slide, nothing we say here had any real impact whatsoever on what is going on out there but good that we are rubbing minds as football fans.
I will not say anything on this again.I wish Osimhen well.
Respect Do4luv and Happy Sunday Oga KOG, I understand the matter has been settled privately by all parties concerned with NFF intervention. Let’s all move on. |

Did you not see the reckless and arrogant manner at which he spoke insulting Nigerians? Don't force rubbish down our throats oga Osimhen has given his blood and busted his guts for his country. He has played with injuries for his nation. When his dedication and commitment is questioned, he has every right to respond. I fully support him on this. Finidi threw his players under the bus to save his skin. |

People forget it’s the same Siasia who claims to be a coach that did not realize that a draw against Guinea was enough to qualify us for a nations cup at home. The same Siasia on a rescue mission ( after Oliseh cowardly resigned) in the second leg of a nations cup qualifier against Egypt away left “Prime” Iwobi and Iheanacho on the bench and played Etebo for 90 minutes. (Few months later Rohr used same Iwobi and Iheanacho to defeat Zambia away). Siasia and Salisu both men of questionable character should handle the Eagles…that is really pushing the boundaries of delusion. |

Monsignor22: I listened to Osimhen's live stream, omo the pain and anger was reverberating...at this point, I see Osimhen and a host of other key players also coming out to vent before they resign from the national team. I suspect Iwobi will follow suit very soon.
This doesn't look good for the overall image of the team honestly, I don't know how a new coach will step into this mess calm down oga… Finidi is gone. Everywhere good. |

TheSuperNerd: I have an old time football administrator who writes on football in Nigeria, knows the ins and outs of the NFF, who came up with this exact thought immediately the NFF confirmed Finidi over Amunike. He didn't wait for Finidi's first game, he immediately sent me his write up and said this is part of the NFF's plan.
He said he has proof that some of them admitted Amunike is better qualified than Finidi but went with Finidi based on an agenda they had.
Truth is they knew Finidi will fail.
Now, here we are today. When you surround yourself with mediocrity day in day out in terms of training and actual game time; it tends to mess with your thinking. When you see quality you cannot recognize it. That’s the unfortunate scenario finidi found himself. |

Nwamazi8: All hope is not lost, we can still qualify to the world cup via playoffs or as the second best team cause the other teams above will inevitably drop points vs each other.
But Finidi has to be honorably sacked before the summer abeg, nice of him to step up to the national call but tournament football is evidently far above him, African football isn't for just any Joe or Harry.
A seasoned foreign coach has to he hired ASAP, doesn't matter if he's a journeyman, as long as he has a solid experience coaching in Africa. Get in a Rohr or Tom Saintfeit type of coach who have loads of tournament experience under their belt. These type of coaches will come cheap and they will fancy a chance to make history by qualifying us from a tough situation.
Let's ditch the sexy football and play the Peseiro/Rohr unattractive but safe and effective type of football, a solid defensive football with pace on the counter. After we win our first two next games 1-0 or 2-0 then we can have the momentum that comes with winning.
Lastly we must make sure all our experienced players are fit...Balogun has to be recalled. The likes of Ndidi,Iheanacho, Ajayi have to be permanently dropped for good, these guys simply are pass it. It's time for chances to be given to the likes of Ndah, Torunarigha, Benjamin Federick, Igoh Ogbu and even Tosin if he wants to take a shot at a world cup experience with Nigeria.
In attack, it's time to build around Osimhen and try call up Solanke, Chuba Akpom and George Ilenikhena. We also need Simon Moses cause he's more experienced in this African tournaments.
With a New foreign/experienced coach, a huge chop and change in this present squad, and the massive support of the government with funds and logistics...we will have a better fighting chance to qualify.
Otherwise with Finidi or any of those guys from the 1994 generation, it's bye-bye to the world cup. The first post I like you have posted d on here. You forgot in terms of strikers Elijah Adebayo. In my opinion on current form our number 2 striker after Osimhen. 👍🏾 |

Sometimes I do ask myself no be the same matches wey I don watch am play na wey una watch too? That boy on a good day is not even good enough to mk super eagles bench or our Olympic team starting 11
Finidi is very stupid to try such gamble in this qualifiers knowing fully well the team’s tight position in their group.
No one is talking about how Igoh ogbu, torunarigha, akpoguma or even Ndah that is doing well in the SA league etc were all sidelined but making excuses for a player frm the Tanzanian league of all leagues who made the the starting 11 of almighty super eagles of Nigeria at the expense of the above mentioned defenders
All the blame goes to ajayi and bassey but no one is even talking abt the ekuke that looked shaky and light weight in all the games I hv seen him play so far. How was he even scouted to the extend of meriting a starter’s shirt for the super eagles in important World Cup qualifier games? Who Dey watch Tanzanian league? Even our opponents In the last two games won’t dare to feature an amateur and inexperience defender from such league in important games like the World Cup qualifiers
Games like this are meant for the very best we can boast of as a nation but ours is always different. Personal and selfish interest/gain comes first 😂😂😂 |

lbrichman2: I personally think we can still qualify We've made it hard for ourselves but it's still possible.. We need to win all our remaining matches and hope other results go our way..
The thing is, these draws and loss will make other countries look down on us. So they'll probably be over confident when facing us We can take advantage of that and hurt them before they know what's going on.. Still so much to play for We need our Leaders back in the team Ekong, Osimhen, Simon, Aina
Finidi should stop experimenting with these local players!! The anger in the land currently, it will take a major miracle for Finidi to be in charge 9 months from now when the World Cup qualifiers resume. Finidi to be very honest no be am. |

Amedino99: you forgot we laboured to qualify to the last round of 2022 wcq on the last day. The only reason we could play Ghana in the double header was a goalline clearance by ndidi and it's not as if we were playing some top nations ooo. Our group was composed of cape Verde, Liberia and C.A.R.. rohr that was usually breezing through qualifiers was now dragging points with low nations. From someone that used to qualify us to tournaments without issues, there were clear and sharp decline decline in his football and it won't have taken long that he won't even be able to qualify us to tournaments again. His last days were torture and his sack was justified. J am happy you used the word “laboured” at least there was effort and heart. What do you call what we played today? |
