Politics › Re: Nigeria Applying For Another $3b Chinese Loan – Amaechi by TruthinAction: 1:00pm On Aug 05, 2020
The issue to me is not just the borrowing but the project it is aimed at. What do we need Port Harcourt Maidiguri rail road for? So that terrorist can have easy access to the oil rich state. Did they jazz us that we can't discern their intent. Every agenda of this government is aimed at putting our lives in greater risk. Rivers State people should say no to this project. We should rather demand for Port Harcourt - Abuja or Port Harcourt - Lagos. What are we looking for in Maidiguri?

Edo state people should not allow themselves to be used as thugs. Otherwise you will just die for nothing. These politicians will keep their children safe while you waste your life for nothing. What happened in Rivers State Should not repeat itself. About 27 youths lost their lives.

Good job. But when will the police ever arrest killer herdsmen? Are they waiting for them to kill police officer before they arrest them? Another soldier caught in this hideous crime. Things are really falling apart. Can the center ever hold again?

USA, UK, Japan, China, UAE-Dubai, Qatar, SAudi Arabia are allneedy countries living in lack hence their huge debts, but only Nigeria should be living in opulence and wealth hence needs not borrow.

Una mumu na follow come
We can choose to be different. The countries you mentioned are not the yardstick for standard. We are far richer than them all. Say no to borrowing. All we need is industrial revolution. But the leaders we have right now don't have the interest of the nation at heart. They only plan on how to loot.

DrEmmy01:
A country like Nigeria can't survive without borrowing because we lack the basic funds to run the country. Forget about politicians looting funds, Nigeria's lack of finance is due to other reasons such as unemployment. From my little knowledge of economics I have come to know that a country whose working population is higher than the the rest of the population will have sufficient finances but in Nigeria our working population is lower than expected and to make matters worse 55.4% of the working population are unemployment causing a decrease in the countries annual income and also tax revenue will also be affected. So in my view, corruption of our leaders is not the reason why Nigeria borrows money.
If you know the level of corruption, you will agree with me that we don't need to borrow. The one reported is just a tip of the iceberg. This country is rich. But the system is designed such that only a fraction of the money goes into government purse.

Do you know how many oil companies we have in Nigeria? Do you know how much we generate from import duties on a daily basis? Do you know how much oil being sold and unaccounted for in NNPC? Give me this country to run and I won't borrow a dime. Our leaders are thieves. We just need honest people with proven track records.

I thought they don't like western education? This is why we should go our separate ways. Nigeria should divide into 5 countries otherwise there will always be disunity which will not help us.

myboy2111:
Op, if you study basic economics, you will come to understand that all countries of the world borrow and must borrow.

Borrowing could either be an instrument of
1. Fiscal Policy or
2. Monetary Policy

Fiscal Policy is borrowing to finance budget, projects and Programmes of govt .

Monetary Policy is borrowing used by CBN to control the economy , inflation, deflation by mopping up or releasing more money into circulation through buying and selling of Treasury Bills, Bonds and other Govt instruments to banks , corporations and individuals
You borrow because of lack. Nigeria has no lack but our polithiefians looting our monies. We are the richest nation on earth but corruption is what is killing us. I insist that the borrowing is just an opportunity to loot. And most of the projects embarked on are over prized. Just imagine a fence of 27.3 km is costing the Federal Government 62 billion naira. We just need leaders of integrity and we will begin to lend instead of borrowing.

Can u run Nigeria without borrowing ?
Yes, I can. Where is China borrowing from? We just need to be a producing country. We import so many items we can produce locally. This is why we are poor as a nation.
Education › Re: FG To Fence University Of Maiduguri With 64 Billion Naira by TruthinAction: 11:01am On Aug 03, 2020
This is the height of corruption.
27.3 kilometers for 64 billion naira. This translates to:
1km (1,000m) for 2.34 billion naira
100 m for 234 million naira
10m for 23.4 million naira
1m fence for 2.34 million naira

The National Assembly should stop this gross corruption. Nigerians should rise up against this wicked and corrupt government. Are they going to use bullet proof and bomb proof materials.

If fencing has to be done, the entire borders in the north should be fenced. How many people have they killed inside the University? What about many other communities that are not fenced?
Politics › Can't We Run This Country Without Borrowing? by TruthinAction(op): 10:40am On Aug 03, 2020
I am really worried at the trend of borrowing in our Nation, Nigeria since independence. My question is, can't our leaders run the affairs of this country without borrowing? In my own opinion, I think we can. Just like Pastor Chris Oyakhilome recently said, we have brainless leaders in Africa. We have enough natural resources to generate revenues internally to run this country. Our key problem is corruption. Most of the internally generated revenue ends up in private pockets. This is where our problem is. Imagine the amount of billions looted by our past and present leaders. It means we have enough money in this country.

I believe our leaders just take loans to have the opportunity to loot. We need leaders with brains on how we can generate our monies. With all the loans collected, our roads are still bad, security challenge is worse than ever and our youths are still joblessness.

We have an indigenous company that produces cars. Why can't the government partner with him to produce tricycles which we import in hundreds of thousands? This is a project that can generate money for us. Why are they frustrating the Ajaokuta steel complex? Maybe most billionaires that have steel rolling mills don't want competition.

We need leaders that can think outside the box. Leaders that say no more loans and still delivers. Loans keeps us in bondage. Borrowing is a curse. We need to break ourselves from the this jinx of borrowing.

Politics › Re: Kaduna Bandits Kill 60-Year-Old Man With 12 Children In His Farm - Shehu Sani by TruthinAction: 7:45pm On Aug 02, 2020
We should never allow a Fulani man to rule this country again. Their population is just about 20 millions in the whole of West Africa. The Hausas should be wise to vote them out as they are also victims of their evil acts.
Education › Re: Ogun Parents Protest N25,000 COVID-19 Test Ahead Of School Reopening by TruthinAction: 4:28pm On Aug 02, 2020
They are not ready for schools to run. Do they know that there are many parents who can't even afford the least 1,000 naira? Because of the way they loot, they think everyone has the money. Does it also means that the other patients been treated are all paying for it? If government is not ready to foot the bill, schools should remain close.

I hope you are aware of Chinese repression of Uighurs and Tibetian. Chinese are extremely corrupt and brutal even to their own people.
I said that just to express my dissatisfaction for our Nigeria leaders. I know China will never be an option. We need a radical revolution. These set of polithiefians should please leave the stage for younger and fresh ones. We also need a new constitution. We need true federalism. Each region should manage their resources and pay tax to federal government. The cost of governance must also be reduced.

Maybe Nigeria should be colonized by China because we have really failed in governing ourselves. Meanwhile, borrowing is a curse. It means Nigeria is cursed if we keep defending on borrowing. This is why we need righteous people who are spirituality minded to lead us.

Whoever brought the idea of re integrating this terrorist back into the society did it for financial gains. It is an opportunity to divert fund that will be allocated to the exercise. This government is overly corrupt. They don't care how their decisions affect others. Their focus is the money they want to make.

Of what importance is the news to use when we know the money will be re looted. If they are honest, they should attach it to a project which should be monitored. Our federal roads are too bad. You could travel from PH to Lagos within 6 - 7 hrs during Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan regime but now you will spend between 12 - 14 hours to make the same journey. Sometimes, it could even take two days.
