Endemic corruption during that period did not allow the project to see the light of day until Yar'Adua put a freeze on the contract by withholding funding for the project. Yar'Adua went ahead to restructure the contract and put in place cleaner and more realistic plans to implement the construction contract. As we all know, YarAdua left us before he could see the project to completion.

GEJ inherited and implemented the framework left behind by Yar'Adua quite easily, the real credit belongs to Yar'Adua. Go and read up the reason why Yar'Adua froze the countract and how he restructured it before his death. You fools are now claiming that GEJ did it all in 2-3years. agbameta: This is OBJ and Yaraduas vision and contract so the main credit really should go to OBJ because he awarded the contract and it was his vision to reactivate the railway system in Nigeria while Yaradua stopped and reevaluate the project before letting construction go on which it did and the result is what we have here today.

Nightshift: My take : awarding contract for reconstruction of Enugu - Port Harcourt expressway to Setraco Nig Ltd is wrong. Reason? The company has been doing shoddy work on the stretch Enugu - Umuahia section for over two decades.
Another company like Arab Contractors, or JB Nig Plc should have been allowed to do the job.
