TravelRe: What I Saw In An Airline Today. by ttmacoy:
That is not true. I have flown with many airlines and I have NEVER seen where emergency seat trays are sealed. If that was the case airplane manufacturers would not bother to put trays there if they will end up being sealed.

The only restrictions to seating in an emergency exit seat is you cannot put your bags under the seat in front of you and you are expected to be ready to help evacate the plane in an emergency that's why they stress that people seating in the exit row read the safety guidelines.

ProAnti:
Trays on seats close to the emergency exit are usually sealed to prevent obstructions in emergency situations. The seal quality is poor though.

And how do other airlines operate without taping do not use on trays located on exit seats?

That is a ridiculous excuse I'm sorry. I've never seen any airline prevent you from using the tray because it is an emergency exit seat.

Owoloku1:
OP it's because of the emergency exits located behind the seats

If those trays are in use and there's an emergency they could impede movement

Please tell me you are joking...

BeClever:
It's probably because the the tray may disturb movements close to the emergency door..

Just that the sign didn't look nice...

Please let us not take this thread serious as it just the paper that made it look like that..

Arik is a great airline and I have used it countless times.

I LOVE ARIK AIR !! !!!!!!!!
PhonesRe: Whatsapp Will Be Discontinued On Blackberry And Nokia Operating System By 2016 by ttmacoy: 2:18pm On Feb 28, 2016
While I agree many people in the countries you listed will be affected, over time they will migrate to cheaper android phones very easily.

You mentioned a rival company coming in but ignored the fact developers are no longer willing to develop apps for smaller operating systems.

We had this issue even with BB10 where many developers refused to develop apps for the system because their market share is just too small. Android, iOS and Windows make up about 95% of market share now so no incentive to develop apps for smaller ecosystems. Without apps I don't see any rival OS taking market share.

BabaAlabi:
I thought this was a spurious post but after researching online, the news is actually true.
I think it is a bad and ludicrous decision to discontinue whatsapp for many low-end devices. Many people in Indonesia, Nigeria and other parts of Asia use blackberry and low-end phones. Many people in various countries cannot afford to upgrade. Discontinuing whatsapp for these devices will drastically reduce the whatsapp userbase and inconvenience existing users in the aforementioned countries. It also proves that Whatsapp's objective to connect people all over the world is nothing but a bloody lie. I love it when people and companies self-sabotage their own success by themselves e.g P-Square and now whatsapp. Goodluck battling a rival company that will emerge to acquire the abandoned users.
PhonesRe: Whatsapp Will Be Discontinued On Blackberry And Nokia Operating System By 2016 by ttmacoy:
Has nothing to do with what they think of Asia or Africa. WhatsApp makes 95% of its revenue from Android, iOS and the new windows systems so it makes very good business sense.

It's a matter of when not if those smaller OS will stop being supported even by the companies who developed them e.g. BlackBerry has started making Android phones and will probably stop supporting BlackBerry systems at some point.

If you look at attached pic, you will see that the market share of the non top 3 system have been falling and is very very small now so they will not b losing much.

greenpasture:
Not at all.
To get market share a messaging app needs be cross platform. BBM has done that. If whatsapp want to cut out certain platforms they will reduce their market share but even more importantly it shows exactly what they think of Africa and parts of Asia. Which is, not a lot. Mistake.

I don't think Facebook wants to kill WhatsApp. They own it after spending so much so doesn't make sense to kill a successful app.

It's more a case of focusing on the main operating systems going forward as it isn't efficient developing apps for fringe ecosystems anymore. Heck even BlackBerry has pretty much abandoned it's BB10 OS for Android. Whilst it's painful as I still use and love BB10 I think it makes business sense.

They are just following the trend of consolidation amongst ecosystems.

Muafrika2:
It's a very bad move. I think Facebook bought Whatsapp just to kill it, as it was making Facebook obsolete. This Will Make It Stop Growing.

Then Facebook will soon introduce a Whatsapp like feature to try and take its market.
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 8 by ttmacoy: 12:11am On Feb 28, 2016
Yes it is fairly expensive as they use immigration lawyers etc, but another reason companies are reluctant to file for H1 visa aside the cost is it is very hard to get due to demand outstripping the number of visas available each year.

There is a quota of 65k + 20k for those with advanced US degrees, and for the few years there have been over 150k applications within a few days of opening. Companies are reluctant to spend money on lawyers etc when it balls down to a lottery.

warriboy21:
Ok thks boss.. Y are many company's not filing for every job seeker. Is it very expensive For dem to file
TravelRe: Nigerian Visa Named The 9th Hardest In The World by ttmacoy: 4:07pm On Feb 24, 2016
Yes it is very hard, but it is not because of demand, but more due to the poor administration and the process which is unnecessarily long. Same with getting a new or renewing a Nigerian passport abroad, it can be a frustrating experience sometimes.

Destined2win:
Really? Never knew, with all the negative image.
CareerRe: EcoBank Sacks 50 Top Managers by ttmacoy: 2:48pm On Feb 24, 2016
Sacking 70% of your senior staff is a sign the bank is in trouble and the cuts will filter down to lower level staff soon.

issac08:
This story about Ecobank sacking 50 staff because the bank cannot stay afloat is so hollow… So, with those 50 staff laid off, the bank will stay afloat, right? Some journalists in Nigeria just think everybody is a fool…
CareerRe: EcoBank Sacks 50 Top Managers by ttmacoy: 2:43pm On Feb 24, 2016
According to their 2014 annual report Ecobank Nigeria had 74 senior staff at AGM, DGM and GM level, so sacking 50 is 70% of senior staff. That is a HUGE sign of distress.

Also there are probably plans for junior staff to be laid off soon.

yunisaumaru:
Ecobank has over 14,000 staff nationwide. Roughly 20 percent of that figure will be senior staff. That will be close to 3,000. May be 100-200 of the figure as directors and the remaining as AGMs, GMs, etc. So, in the writer’s opinion, sacking 50 of those is a sign that the bank is in distress? Using the writer’s figure of monthly salary of 2-1 million for each of the staff in the senior staff category, how can the sack of just 50 be the panacea to the survival of the bank? And where are the staff at director’s level in this rationalization exercise if the bank is starting at the top level, as the story claims? Some journalists just write what they like.
