jassie: I've known about the Bermuda triangle mystery right from secondary school.Science assisted in the creation of the technologies that were used to locate the site of the planes' crash in the ocean. The ocean is very deep that's why the plane hasn't been removed yet and science will also "save" all of us from the Ebola virus ravaging West Africa at the moment. This is kiddies' stuff really |
Clashydutch: Yet they say there is no God....Ofcourse there is no "God."Have you ever seen this "God" you always speak about before?I know you'll say,you only need faith to believe in "Gods'" existence but what is faith apart from belief in an "entity" without evidence? That is exactly where science trumps over/wins/supercedes all religions |
Funniez: Bermuda triangle is also called "the devils triangle", I tink this point is self explainedLike all "gods,"the "devil" doesn't exist homeboy.Wake up from your slumber |
“If you study religion deep enough and long enough, it will force you to believe there is no God.” – Commonsense |
Philtrik: I am A Science Student. I Believe that there is God and I believe He Exist.Lies from the pit of the well in your village compound.Science is the only way forward for humanity |
RayMcBlue: Then TV.com that scored GOT 9/I0 overall also got it wrong, no? How about Rotten Tomatoes that gave it 96% ratings based on 48 reviews? Or Metacritic that gave it 79% ratings based on 28 reviews? Surely this top critics web pages can't be all wrong, or can they?"The Wire" is the greatest original series ever produced for tv.It never received a best series Emmy nomination much less a win but it deserved that trophy,an oscar,a national book award and a freaking Nobel peace prize to boot"-Peter Traver,Film critic. What I really love about "the wire" is its deliberate unresoved plots. It was cryptic and refused to spoon-feed viewers(which is exactly what the so-called "greatest show" "Breaking Bad" did with its cartooney conclusion)"The wires" take on urban decay and institutional corruption was simply groundbreaking.Don't get me wrong,"Breaking bad" is a good show but too many people have carassed it to the point of excess. In terms of writing, plot development and overall message,it doesn't come close to "the wire" and never will.Like "Lost" and many other shows before it,"Breaking bad" and "Game of thrones" are destined to be placed in the "meh" and "its alright" categories.Yes,many have said "the wire" is "difficult" to understand because of its heavy use of slangs and similar characters but they always fail to realize things constantly happened on the show...important things unlike "Game of thrones" which is a show where people are walking to some place for a whole season.Ofcourse "GOT" is a highly-rated and popular show but no one should believe the hype, even "Duck Dynasty" has millions of viewers. As for the lack of Emmy nominations for "the wire,"many have criticised the Emmy nomination process as outdated and in need of revamping.Smart shows that challenge conventional thoughts about society, usually "hurts" the brains of the committee members. The process goes through some minor changes yearly but not enough to effect any real changes. The whole ordeal is subjective. The best shows aren't always going to make the cut because the people who provide input on the process are submitting their own opinions. It doesn't mean the Emmys' are totally flawed in recognising talent and hardwork but you just can't deny the fact that it is just a popularity contest.Shows like "the wire" don't need awards to know that they are good."A great work doesn't need crowns."As "Stringer Bell" would say,"nuff said." |
RayMcblue02: A show surely can't be overrated if it's within the top 5 best TV shows on the planet in the IMDb, right? You can call GOT overrated all you want, but facts doesn't lie...IMDb may be a credible source for tv shows information but they got this one wrong. The "Game of thrones" tv series really isn't that good.Afterall, its best season has been season one where they referenced a lot of scenes and dialogue from the book. So,my suggestion to the true fans of "Game of thrones" is to read the books if you really want to get the storys' context and authenticity."Game of thrones" tv series scope and depth doesn't even come close to a masterpiece like "Boardwalk Empire"(eventhough season four was its poorest season).Comparing "Breaking Bad" to "The Wire" is an insult to "The Wire".Even Vince Gilligan(the creator of "Breaking Bad) has admitted he used elements from "The Wire" in "Breaking Bad"."The Wire" is head and shoulders ahead of every other tv show made but do you know what?It never even won a single "Emmy"(that shows you how knowledgeable the "Emmy" committee is about tv shows).By the way,"my fiancee?"I always thought you were in your late teens or early twenties because of your enthusiasm. What do you think about the show,"The Tudors?"Good stuff too |
I don't share of the opinion that GOT is overrated. The HBO fantasy drama merely had a poor season is all, every TV show suffers from this now and then. Hopefully, the cogs will start working again next season, and GOT may regain some of it's lost shine. I have heard of Twin Peaks, but I haven't had the pleasure of watching it just yet. I really don't like old shows, to be honest. [/quote)Suit yourself at not watching old shows. What makes the "Game of thrones" tv series tick? Its story? Its scope? The story and scope of the books are 200 times better than the series.I don't blame many for calling the programme over-rated.Frankly,I do too.Have you read any of the books?Since "Ned Stark" got executed, the show went downhill from there.Too much addition of contents to the series that weren't even in the books |
RayMcblue02: LolzI'm always amused by the obsession of many people with the "Game of thrones" series. The programme was clearly at its best in its first season.Since then, the shows' quality has depreciated. If you truly want to get the full scope of the story and its characters, read the books(they are available in every format).Even the sex stuff(the real reason I believe many people still watch the show) is twenty times more in the books. @"Raymcblue" have you ever heard of the show "Twin Peaks?."Its an old,slow-paced,mystery show but really good |
Sean Connery is my best.A combination of suave and ruggedness.I still don't know why Daniel Craig is so popular as "Bond".He is just too wooden and sullen and the only good bond movie he has featured in has been "Casino Royale."The rest have been less than average "action?" "drama?" movies |
GuyFawkes: That was the most chilling episode of Breaking Bad if I remember, that was when Agents Schrader and Gomez got killed.I disagree. The most chilling episode of "Breaking Bad" is "Boxcutter,"Season 4 episode 1 especially the scene "Gus Fring" walked from the door of the laboratory, down the steps and towards "Walter" and "Jesse"."Walter" started defending his actions,"Gus" said nothing then walked towards the lab coat and started putting it on.We all expected their imminent death. Now that's CHILLING!!! |
chromatic: to be honest, the emmys is a joke..the nominations are predictable and boring. Some shows are there deservedly but some aren't. The good wife should be there for best drama and not downtown abbey( I stopped that one after the third season as I believe it's gone downhill). The good wife was so old last season it would compete with breaking bad and true detective. yeah it was that good last season. The particular episode that was submitted for emmy nom " hit the fan" is as good as Breaking bad " ozymandias" episode( this was actually the best episode of breaking bad that year in my opinion: others were good too).I agree with your criticisms of the Emmy awards.Personally,I'm not even a fan of any award ceremony.I've watched one or two episodes of "The Good Wife" but lost interest, never been interested in "Downton Abbey" and let's be realistic here, the second part of "Breaking Bad" (episodes 9 to 16) were the worst of the series. So,NO!!! "Breaking Bad" season 5 isn't as good as "True Detective"."True Detective" is without doubt, the best show of 2014 from acting, directing, script, locations etc.Its head and shoulders above the rest |

@OP This quote from "Rollingstone movies.com" best summarizes your whole post:"The Expendables 3 trading our affection for action stars of the past, has officially worn-out its already shaky welcome." |
Teflony: 4) MS-13 : Without doubt, MS-13 is the mostMS-13 still maintain links to their country of origin El-salvador which is a haven for violent gangs. They are also into narco-trafficking and are infamous for hacking down their victims with machetes. Most South American,Central American and Caribbean countries are havens for gangs. This is usually caused by social inequalities and an unsustainably large growth in population.I believe Nigeria and a few African states are now encountering thesame issues that enabled these gangs to gain strangleholds in many societies |
berem: I am talking of TV stations and your talking of FRCN and Raypower. I don't watch NTA so I can't say for that. Many people in Nigeria listen to radio stations and they have been broadcasting adverts on AIT,Channels,NTA and Silverbird too.Instead of thanking me for the information I gave on my first post, this your post came across as if my first post was wrong. You are rude |
berem: The most annoying part is there's no awareness campaign about the Ebola Virus on our TV stations. The awareness is only on social media.I disagree with this your post.I've been hearing educational adverts about Ebola on The National Service of FRCN,Raypower and even NTA.I've also received many text messages from the Ministry of health. Its not surprising though, our leaders don't want a quick and painful death. They are aware Ebola is no respecter of status |
ifeness: Lots of civilisations have perished because they were as clueless as you. You are a human being using 5% of your brain. Your purpose on this planet is for you to enhance yourself to be fully human. Fuk Yahweh, the prick couldn't care less about you. Get some real knowledge on how to be a God/advanced human or someday you will worship those who built the Third Mainland Bridge,Statue of Liberty and Sky scrappers!"Ifeness,"how are you?I haven't seen you on this section in 5-6months.Hope you've been alright,health-wise? |

khanivorous: Wow...you know, that 'skeleton key' movie really messed my psyche up. For days I was like ' what is this' ,Yes.It is a good movie.Under-rated even because of Kate Hudsons' "poppy"/"blonde ambition" image at the time.I never saw that end coming. It totally took me by surprise. Also quite disturbing which was brilliant |
@Ray Mcblue I agree 200% with your post.My honourable mentions are Richard Pryor and Bill Cosby |

"Se7en", "The Usual Suspects", "The Skeleton Key", "Memento" |

"The Wire," "The Sopranos," "Six Feet Under," "Boardwalk Empire," "Breaking Bad," "Rectify," "NewsRadio" "Boss," "Magic City," "Mad Men," "Carnivale" "Seinfeld," and "Arrested Development" |
Ray McBlue: The show's chock full of epic quotes, but to be honest Cohle steals the spotlight every single time, what with the pessimistic, twisted and cynicism infused drivels. I can't get enough of 'em, and you know what makes it weirder? My life philosophies kinda fall along similar lines.I find your last sentence funny because I thought I was the only person who could relate to the "Rust Cohle" character.Undoubtably my best show of 2014 and I just love the haunting opening theme song by "The Handsome Family"-"Far from any road."It perfectly sets the tone of the show. |
