As an Akwa-Ibomite when I say Akpabio was/is highly overrated people come for my neck. The only areas Akpabio touched were Uyo and Ikot Ekpene where he comes from. Over 65% of Akwa-Ibom land mass are still mainly bushes.

Other parts are still very much the same.

BUT he's been our best Governor so far sha (that's to show the crappy standard of leadership we have in the SS) because at least he sha built some world class structures in Uyo. He sha did something and he sha had the decency to give something back in exchange for the indecent wealth he amassed for himself during his eight years. Yes Akpabio is so rich he can can buy a good portion of Nigeria and still have enough to feed all his generations.

Whether the coup plan was supposed to be a revolutionary one or an Ibo coup can be well debated but it execution showed that the Ibo plotters saved their leaders, how convenient was it that Nnamdi Azikwe, an uncle to Ifeajuna, prolonged his medical trip abroad needlessly and none of the politicians killed were leaders of Igbo people!

Dont get me wrong o, am not saying Biafra led by Victor Banjo troops would have conquered the SW, infact, it is very unlikely because the Nigerian side was supported by the UK, US and other world powers that already had a stake in Nigeria's crude oil, and secession of the East would have meant that the oil-rich Niger Delta would have gone with it. My argument is Victor Banjo had a different view from ojukwu's.

I do not want to go into any argument but blaming the loss on Banjo is nothing but shifting blames. Calling Banjo a SABO is just repeating the obvious because a Yoruba man in the Biafran army was already a betrayer but that is not my business. As a Yoruba guy, ask your parents what "Ija Ore" means. Till today it is still used to describe a very tough situation. There was a fierce battle. Banjo didn't just fold his cards. How many were Biafran soldiers in total? How many were heading for Lagos? They will pass Ijebu Ode, Shagamu etc before getting to Lagos and Dodan barracks was at the very other end of. Was there any back up plans from Enugu? Was there air support? These are questions reasonable and responsible people should ask. Advancement in war is not determined by how many kilometers you drive. That they passed Benin and got to Ore does not mean they were almost in Lagos. Ok, with all their loud mouth, why wasn't there any Igbo soldier ready to lead the charge to Lagos? Dem no sabi road? Most Igbos get the wrong version of the civil war even before they ever leave their villages and instead of reading books and applying wisdom they just base their conclusions on the version they are fed with.

You werent there so you cant know if it is a lie or the truth, and it seems probable that Victor Banjo wont want to be the person that led the Eastern conquest of his homeland. Am a yoruba guy and from the accounts of the civil war i have read, Victor Banjo and Ojukwu had different visions, one wanted to clear his name and the resolution of the crisis, the other wanted a different thing.
