BaddieFreak:Your mum has refused to leave an abusive man BUT the one that helps u sleep at night is to generalize by labelling the male gender. Some of you people ehn....una problem too deep |
xest:I dont know about scholarship for church members, BUT truly Quality education is never cheap. A lecturer guides you but most learning is done with the internet these days...if u buy 20k data bundle for ur child every month forthe 8 months he/she will spend on campus....thats 160k...the accomodation facilities provided by private unis(especially the ones that charge in this CU range) if you want to rent it for ur child in a public uni.....150k or even much more depending on location. can you quantify LESS exposure to cultism activities (i said less). Ur child is not in a classroom of 100capacity with 500 other students(quantify that one too). I think we should tell ourselves the truth, a Private uni that charges this and provides these basics isnt overpriced. |
kingjoe:the problem of an average Nigerian is not private proprietors providing an education that is out of reach of the general public. They are people in business and every business model is at liberty to pick its target market....It is the duty of the Nigerian Government(NOT private school owners) to provide quality education that is affordable for the general public, we did not vote prioprietors to give us quality affordable education. In Germany, university education is almost free, largely(only a small student contributory fee of abot 250euros), yet there are unis that still charge as much as 10k to 15k euros and they. they both co-exist |
AnonymousRebec:TRUE german schools are almost free for students, it doesnt mean a lot of money is not spent in maintaining in running the schools. In those German schools u still need to pay compulsory student contribution fee(ranges around 200 to 350 euros depending on the school)...this is excluding the main fact that the German government spends a lot of money to run these institutions. PhD students generally earn around 2000euros per month, u can imagine what full time lecturers n earn, also consider the fact that there is a very low student to teacher ratio. Institutinal facilities are very well maintained, internet access, libraries top-notch. My point is quality education is very very very expensive. Nigerian private universities are trying to get to this level without government funding, so it is bound to be far more expensive than the public unis largely funded by the government |
hahahaha...no shame |
1 million naira for a child to stay in a proper academic environment, learn and get his or mind developed....if the child spends 7months on campus in a year..thats less than 150k per month ... there is a big difference between something that is overpriced and something u cannot afford. Hustle and no born pass ur power, u go begin see things appropriately |
flokii:Sound education is not giving students hard exams, this world has evolved.....skills skills skills ideas ideas ideas rule the world, Both private and public unis can co-exist, if the government do not provide a conducive environment for the teachers, how will they not cross to somewhere they can get that. there are private unis abroad too, but the public ones still do very very well. |
g |
Tilykay:Ok, that would be fair enough, if true |
flokii:THE PROFESSORS AND LECTURERS OF PUBLIC UNIVERSITIES THAT SEND THEIR KIDS TO PRIVATE UNIVERSITIES, have u asked yourself why they send their kids to the so-called glorified secondary schools.....they know and understand the system they operate in...they know the system under which they were trained, they know the system under which they are training people now...they know whatup |
vickydevoka:it goes beyond courses, its about the possibilites ur immediate environment puts in ur face...some private unis have flexible curriculum and expose you to what u need to do to make the difference, as a medical student u will see what u can do with tech in the hospital, as estate management student u will identify how u can create positive disruption to the existing other and deliver better value for clients, as a Lawyer same thing.....u see all of these ideas on a daily, it becomes the normal for u. Every sector is saturated already, what makes the difference is how u do things differently...which is what private uni guys are doing very well |
Coldie:Founder of paystack did not school abroad. |
od501:statts these days have shown covenant is the best in Nigeria at least judging by employability and productivity of the Alumni BUT when was it ranked in the Top 100 in the world...calm down sir....abi na 1000 u wan talk...i have not seen a time at least 500 American universities have not been ranked higher than any Nigerian University. |
flokii:I also have an issue with how the money used in starting the universities were raised from church members who cannot afford to send their kids there. They should have made it a proper business set up, and so the donors operate as shareholders, they make profits or losses as the case may be....But about what the university charges...sincerely it is not out of the roof. Education is very very expensive, Public universities is largely subsidized by the government....lots of public institutions charge very small for the regular degree programs BUT use other means to raise funds to complement what they get in running the schools, d reason diploma and predegree programs are very expensive, see unilag business models for example. |
flokii:i used to think this way until i started seeing piggyvest, paystack, and lots of their graduates doing very very well outside the shores of nigeria in fortune 500 companies.......looks like generally a public uni person aspires to work in top Nigerian companies and govt agencies(ofcourse exceptions are there, the mindset of an average private uni student is chanalled towards building solution, creating systems that can work better, or at least aspire to work in the biggest organizations in the world(and there are exceptions to this too) |
That TomTom uniform ehn, na premium tears dey end am. |
Ohizman73:It is a church wedding, no dress code for church weddings, if a man chooses to be different lets respect his choice. if u wont do yours his way, its also fine, lets normalize freedom to do what we desire. Btw i love the mans attire , he rock am well and the wife in a white wedding gown beside him is not odd at all...good combo |
The kind of man i respect....rock your thing with pride.... |
BruncleZuma:lots of them, at best they are just there maintaining the low standard they met, not improving anything. the system is much more important than the individual.. |
BruncleZuma:we have been reduced to making all these unecessary things an issue when we should concentrate on competence. I am not optimistic because Nigeria has a way of making performers fail. His resume seems quite impressive, but This man will only be as good and effiicient as the the president wants him to be. sadly, we have a mediocre president. |
Maina that we have been looking for was produced/arrested or whatever they choose to call it, because a senator is on the hot seat.... Keep legislators under serious pressure, things will work in this country ...they will put pressure on the appropriate authorities to do their job |
Mbarika dun cash out big time |
techmo:ok |
Ajibel:godfatherism and the consequential nepotism....my opinion though, no need to be vulgar |
i dey wait 4 the outcome of this election, let us see if Lagosians have seen the light and will be free come 2023 |
the IGP reports to the President/Presidency, this same Police force attempts to use the court to stop the activities of a panel instituted by the same president they report to, the Presidency claims no knowledge and expresses shock,,,,,...either the IGP is undermining you as the president OR the presidency is playing a clumsy game. However you want to look at it.....Buhari is not competent. |
Uniquekriss:exactly what a real man will do..keep his family away from the eyes of the public storm, investigate in private and make your inferences n decisions without subjecting it to public interference. |
DaddyRochie1642:maybe his wife isnt even complaining...btw he looks ver cool this way......some people dont find flesh attractive |
witworth:This is it for me too but even at that it is still not universal...others will have their view of family achievement carved out differently and it will still not be a wrong view...like the poster above u said, achievement is subjective |
DonTattaglia:it is not lame sir/ma. please how do you define a family. It doesnt matter what we have been made to believe. It doesnt matter if we are married or aspire to get married, the truth remains the truth, marriage is not what defines a family. Adequate Finances n maturity are ingredients needed to start a family, not marriage. |
internationalman:family is defined as a group of or more parents and their children living together as a unit. the belief that you must be married before you can have a family is erroneous. Some parents live together with their children without being married and are even happier than some married ones. Lets see things for what they are, there is marriage, there is family, none is a prerequisite or consequence for the other. Achievements can be defined by what an individual set out as his or her goal, to some marriage n having kids could be an achievement, to others it might not be. |
Romanoff:48 minus 20 would be 28. |
