The point is that Buhari and CBN know the amount of old 200 notes in circulation. They know the value of old 1000 and 500 notes still out there. Now if u want to exchange ur 1k and 500 for 200, u have to go through CBN, wahala for those who have store of 1k and 500 in their houses. The people that want to buy votes most likely would have kept 1k notes at home(my guess).

Most governors in the north, particularly the APC ones are riding on the status and image of Buhari in the core north. 12 million Buharists is no joke in the equation. It's not about their immunity or lack of it. If they ever come out against Buhari in the north, it's advantage Atiku. They openly brag about inheriting Buharis northern votes, this is why they are afraid of criticizing him

As for Ortom, his people say he failed, his people are obviously anti-APC, so he's safe playing anti Buhari, for the sake of his senatorial ambition

Where was this their energy when police was harassing people(they still do anyways), when fuel prices were increased. Where was this energy whenever their powers as governors was sufficient to isolate themselves and their families from hardship caused by wickedness of Federal government.

You are very correct with the bolded. BUhari and FG goes against APEX ruling from time to time. So CBN doing same is no biggie. Apex court has become a joke. They live off the support of the executive arm and presidency.

I dont get why a lot of people think the CBN/Emefiele is using this policy to heat up the whole nation WITHOUT the total support of Mr. President( not even cabal or presidency or powerful people in the presidency). The support of President Buhari himself. I am inclined to believe that Emefiele will NEVER have the balls to be this rash and ruthless without express verbal support from the president himself. He has been having regular meetings with the president in recent times. The wicked implementation of the currnecy redesign policy is the outcome of those meetings. Buhari may be incompetent but he is not a weakling and he will never be one. From his comments and behaviour over the years, that you are not from the north is even an incentive for him to be decisive and brutal when anyone does something wrong. If he watches CBN without stopping them, then CBN is doing his bidding

Buhari is the President of Nigeria. Naira redesign and the lopsidedness of the implementation is on Buhari and his team, which includes Emefiele. There is no way Emefiele is making these huge moves outside the express approval of the President.
