justwise:I just told you it happened to me .. when i applied for a visa for my wife and daughter...... what link do you need... my VISA PAGE? Dont get my answer wrong... what i am saying is this.... The Baby does not need a visa at that point in time.... if she has the money she can proceed to pay but i can tell you ... it is waste of money because the child can apply for british citizen when both parent are settled... so what matters is the husband... and if you feel like reading... then i will give u this link .. enjoy https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/504905/SET_F__Version_03-16.pdf here is the guidance to the form above https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/483729/MN1_Guide_December_2015.pdf british-citizenship/citizenship-faqs-common-questions-read-before-posting-t95747.html Section 1(3) applications - children born in the United Kingdom to parents who are now settled in the United Kingdom If the child's parent has become settled in the United Kingdom or becomes a British citizen, the child will have an entitlement to register as a British citizen. This registration would be under section 1(3) of the British Nationality Act 1981. |
justwise:Well.... I did my researches before i posted that.... and i can tell you i was in the situation once.... if the child was in nigeria... it is a different case entirely .. but the baby is in uk.... More also, It is about her husband now not the baby ... so it is entirely true she needs to show 18600... |
mimimonroe:There is no same day application in Nigeria...but there is priority which means it will be about 2 weeks or less. As for your other question, As the child is already in UK, it doesn't change the financial requirement regardless of nationality. No, still £18,600, as the child doesn't need a visa..... Hope that helps!!! |
It will come as a terrible shock, after all the efforts and preparations you have gone through and all the waiting, to find your application for a visa has been turned down. Now is the time for a cool head and rational mind, as you have some big decisions to make about your future prospect. First read and re-read the content of the rejection letter. By law they have to give specific ground or grounds for rejection. While the language can be technical and convoluted, it should spell out the exact reason(s) why you have failed to meet the requirement. If there is a simple error of facts, such as claiming you haven't sent in a particular document when you have, you can try complaining first. Your comment will be passed to the relevant visa office and they may then decide to issue your visa. See https://www.gov.uk/government/organi...ints-procedure Secondly find out whether you've been given the right of appeal. Not all types of visa come with the automatic right of appeal, though you may be given administrative review - to ensure that proper procedures have been followed. You only have 28 days to lodge your appeal, so don't dither. You have to pay a fee of £80 for paper consideration or £140 for tribunal hearing. Most opt for paper only. You need to address every reason they have given for refusing, and show they have been wrong in rejecting, or supply additional documents - available at the time of original application but somehow got left out. They only want copies, not originals for the appeal. Thirdly, every appeal process first goes through review by Entry Clearance Manager (ECM), who will look at your application afresh and see if any errors have been made when processing it or they have misinterpreted your situation. If they then decide to overturn the decision, you will be told about it and asked to submit your passport for visa or vignette to be affixed. If the decision isn't overturned, your case goes to the First-Tier Tribunal. As there is a big backlog of cases to be decided, there is a long wait, often up to a year until they fix a date for the judge to examine your case or a hearing. The tribunal hearing will take place in a room, and although it's a court of law, the atmosphere is more informal, and if you aren't legally represented, the court officials will try to be as helpful as they can for you to state your case (if you've opted for a hearing) but they won't give advice. Home Office, if they are contesting the case, will be represented by a presenting officer, usually a solicitor. While the judge may give their decision there and then, it's normal for them to reserve their judgement, giving them time to decide on the outcome. You will be told about it by letter. If your appeal is upheld, Home Office is given a short time to decide whether to lodge an appeal to the upper tribunal, and then the judge will decide if an appeal can be made. The same holds true if you lose your appeal. If you win and Home Office decides not to contest it, you will get a letter or email requesting your passport for the visa to be attached. Often you wait rather a long time for this, and a delay of several weeks, sometimes months, isn't uncommon. You may get your appeal fee back. It's permitted to make a fresh application while your appeal is pending, and then withdraw your appeal when you get your visa. Slightly different procedure is followed if you appeal from within UK. https://www.gov.uk/immigration-asylum-tribunal/overview Often the best course of action after a refusal is to make a fresh application, ensuring that every ground for rejection is properly addressed. This is usually a quicker route, though you will have to pay the full fees again (you will get your health surcharge back if you've paid when you are refused). |
jamal080:If he is applying for settlement.. you will need to meet the financial requirement..... So try reading the Categories and see where you fall on. I want to assume you are not working in Nigeria which means you cannot meet the CAT A, but if you go down the savings route that might help you .. Good luck!!! |
People often ask if they can find an official list of required documents for the visa they are applying for. While there are some general lists, there is no detailed 'must have' list. The reason for this is simple. As each application is unique, reflecting the applicant's and sponsor's individual circumstances including personal and financial, it's just not possible to have a definitive list. You have to think what you need to evidence the particular way you are meeting the requirements. Of course this isn't very helpful for those who haven't done this sort of thing before, and you need up-to-date knowledge of rules and how they are applied. Read all the relevant rules and guidance from Home Office available online. Then compile your tentative list of documents. Compare other people's lists and post it for comment and criticism. While we cannot give legal advice, we are happy to share our views and personal experiences. |
obabola123:Your sponsor in the UK will have to buy the prepaid envelope and send it along with there own part of document. It is important because it will be used to send documents back to your sponsor |
zinfly:Well catch me if you can .....lolol... God will help us my sister.... I wish i had paid for priority , i did not believe i will be this impatient lol. i tend to find out that most of other countries settlement application are on the average considered very fast ... I wonder why nigeria applications are different. God speed for us both... hopefully they will start looking at our application as they have not even started. |

Lexusgs430:I am not against you bruv.... Appeal route is an option... but i only made a suggestion. that is why there are two side to a coin .... I have been refused a visa once and i had option of appeal but i took both steps by appealing and also resubmitting but do you know within few days i got my visa for the re-application. UK appeals can take 1 year bruv DO YOU KNOW THAT!!! or even more..... they care less... more also, 98% of people applying for visa cannot be patient for just 12 weeks so tell me how can they be patient for 1 year... the minimum an appeal can go for is 6 to 8 months!!! so now you tell me how many applicant can be patient enough... . It is just my view no hard feeling ... Good luck to them and i will keep them in my prayers!!!! and good luck to you too... |
justwise:I support justwise ... thank you for the motion... I will modify it now. |

Well It is wise to give a post.. because it helps people that are in same trouble.... I bet the dead can be woken too my Lord... lol. This forum is not only for selfie , it is also to help others... i bet when someone see or face similar challenge they will know they can follow the advise i gave ... NO VEX Mr or Mrs... i rest my case |
Lexusgs430:Well firstly, does cost of application come into consideration when you have just been rejected.... it is important to know that this people dont think or care that much for applicants ... all they want is to meet there requirement ... Why do you think even if they make a mistake it is to the applicant detriment not to them... because at the end of it you will be paying for court case, paying your time and money again with transport and phone call, solicitor. So Mr or Mrs Lexusgs... in this world of Visa application cost is only a worry when you are about to start an application.. when you are in it ... you definitely are in it until you get to the last page. |

sister2007:you can do both ....... it is wise |
Ibs45bae:It is non- priority so i bet they dont spend much time and more also, they are always short staffed. Please make sure you attach Contract of employment with letter confirming your employment. |
sister2007:Reapply and in the information page ... Kindly explain all this... There is one mistake most Nigerians make.... the space which is written information page should be used often. It should not be left blank you should always write in there explaining your relationship or otherwise. So i will advise you to re-apply and also appeal, the ECO made a blunder and in your new application please explain this in there and i am sure your visa will be out in few days or weeks. I have seen situation like that... |
