Politics / Re: Hushpuppi: Abba Kyari ‘knowingly Conspired To Commit Wire Fraud’, US Alleges by tundess: 10:19am On Jul 30, 2021 |
The Soper Cop's explanation is an insult to our intelligence and is revealing of what he regards as "law enforcement". He is hiding behind "2 decades of service" against the entire reputation of an overseas agency with a reputation for thoroughness in investigative matters he has never come across in his "2 decades of service". The FBI indictment is lengthy and pretty specific ; it lists his association with Abbas frm Dubai, including what courtesies in kind Abbas provided the dodgy officer, to fairly self-incriminating WhatsApp communications that she'd further light indicating a relationship that was clearly based on a quid pro quo. His reputation is not bigger than the force he represents nor the nation's honour, nor even his self-vaunted "2 decades of service". He has not a shred of honour, service or dignity by putting out this "explanation". Instead of showing some humility to complain of some error and vowing to clear his name, he's doubling down. His media whoring and self publicity never sat well with me. Like PENCOM boss, Maina. His associations betray his lack of judgement. And it's now clear, his "service" is tainted beyond redemption. Someone above said US falsely accused Saddam Hussein. Don't confuse geopolitics with law enforcement ; how does the gravity of launching a war on another country compare to indicting a corrupt cop in a developing country ? The FBI have nothing to gain by false accusations of someone, who in the grand scheme of things, is a nobody. |

mechanics: I was told by a kinsman who works at FHQ. His method is to co-opt criminals into his CIs as an operational pretext. Join us or die. Your choice. No wonder Wadume thought he was being kidnapped himself and activated his army co-conspirators. His IRT has long been known to answer only to the IGP's office outside normal bounds of command and control. And look at his media jamborees and his love of the spotlight. He reminds me of that Mbu of GEJ's time ; and also the haughty arrogance of Maina in his pomp. Evans alleged that millions in foreign currency was looted frm his safe by the IRT. With what has come to light, who do you believe now ? The IRT has also been fingered as being the cause of the recent spike in school kidnappings in Kd. I will leave the reason to your imagination. And anyone who thinks WhatsApp end to end encryption means you can transact business, however shady, onthat platform, ask NSO. They'll learn you 3 Likes |

Politics / Re: Secondus Fights Back As PDP Governors Move To Dissolve NWC by tundess: 12:02pm On Jul 16, 2021 |
Secondus' capacity to motivate the rank and file is precisely zero. Even his name invites ridicule. He has overstayed his usefulness and has chaired the party through it's most electorally unsuccessful period in its history. When the country is crying out for a vigorous opposition, he's busy straining every sinew to cling onto power. It's preposterous that Saraki is heading a "reconciliation" committee when it was gis treachery that was the first clang in the cacophony to remove GEJ in 2014. Like Jonah Jang in Plateau. Failure writ large. The comedic angle to all this is that Secondus is harder to lever out of the chairmanship than Modu Sherriff was. And Wike must take full responsibility for his imposition. Perhaps PDP can recruit Yahaya Bello. At least he's a new face, with equally nothing to offer. |
Politics / Re: Okonjo-iweala: My Life Threatened For Saving Nigeria $3.6bn From Ghost Workers by tundess: 12:55pm On Jul 15, 2021 |
To be clear, she is talented, works hard, but has an embarrassingly high regard of her own importance and an enormous ego that seems to have swelled with age. This, coupled with relentless self promotion and a constant cheerleading from a captive Western media, makes me suspicious of whom are pushing her onto us Nigerians. I've heard a foreign ambassador question why ppl like her cannot be President. My answer was to ask them which polling unit outside of her state could she win ? I heard nothing but crickets.... 1 Like |

NOI still polishing her "struggle" Oscar statue i see. she is still pushing this false narrative that her mum was kidnapped bc of her policies, something that the kidnappers themselves have admitted was an opportunistic "business" kidnapping. the fact is kidnapping became a viable business in the SE during her tenure as the unconstitutional "co-ordinating Minister of the economy" bc of her economic policies. she sprung subsidy removal on GEJ over the Xmas period and was reprimanded and the policy reversed. she wanted to be paid in $ but was politely reminded that there was a subsisting law preventing public officers being paid in foreign currency. she then started campaigning for the WB job within months of being appointed as "co-ordinating" minister, only for Obama to throw their weight behind Kim. the joan of arc of sacrifice and heartache. in her universe, no human has sacrificed and endured more than her. head tying ankara dishevelledly reinforces this image of meritocratic struggle against nefarious powers. she was furious that her WEF in Abuja was knocked of the news agenda by the Chibok Job. not outraged that girls were kidnapped, but that attention was diverted from the WEF she organised (a great achievement for GEJ's admin that had little international credibility to be fair). i personally know of a western journalist she tried to have redeployed from Nigeria bc she considered his questioning of her economic policies "hostile". the chap has an MPhil from Oxford in PPE by way of credentials. ordinarily, i have little regard for OBJ, but he has a sensitive ego if he feels he is being upstaged. OBJ pushed her out when she started aggregating all credit to herself. now at WTO, the world will hear endless tales of what insurmountable struggles she, as a woman, has faced in her life. and before ppl start hissing at me, i met her first in 91/92 and then again in 2013/2014; she was far more self-effacing in the ninties. laughably, she told me fibs in 2013/2014 that were demonstrably false. but you know, the great powers are pushing women as being future African leaders (cf Sirleaf-Johnson in Liberia ; ex WB etc) as some type of solution to the leadership crises we continually have. they should ask Bangladeshis about women leaders if that's the case. apart from that, lovely woman though and i wish her the best in her new post. no hiding behind any excuses there. |

Russian Aerospace Forces Bear, Blackjack and Backfire aircraft (Nato designations) are regularly intercepted over the North Sea, Norway and Alaska. Tit for tat, nothing to see here. But Mallam is busy arresting and suing (or disappearing) journalists, lawyers, trade unionists or sacking civil servants who criticise his governance with a kind of vigour he never shows when pogroms/mass killings occur in Southern Kaduna. What does his gobshite son have to say about this bloodletting ? His media minions were busy when he was roundly rejected as a key note speaker at the NBA conference. I wonder what happened to the Jigawa and other breakaway NBA chapters? I can bet that once he leaves government House, he dare not set foot in Kaduna again. Black lives don't matter. And kids see that nonsense over there and want to replicate it over here, bc of some ingrained inferiority complex that says, if its OK there, it must be "sophisticated"/advanced/cool etc Forget police brutality, crime in the black communities is out of control. I hate to point to a cultural reason behind it, but this glorification of the "ratchet" lifestyle doesn't help. Twerking, flashing jewellery, street brawling, glorifying criminal misdemeanours, showing off in nightclubs etc. Where are the community leaders ? Who takes responsibility ? Why are ppl not questioning how young men are irresponsibily having kids upandown without raising their children. Everything is for the 'gram or clout or meaningless attention/infamy. There are clear indicators that children from recent immigrant families from Africa are more successful than "indigenous" African Americans children. You make your own conclusions. |

DOA Three serial betrayers of the party as their candidates for the highest office the party contests for ? What message does that send to the party rank n file ? You can swap party at a whim, have your ambition stunted and then return, no questions asked ? In the midst of such comings and goings, how do you hope to enforce party discipline ? As far as I can see, only one of these candidates has a track record worth noting ; Saraki taught Jacob Zuma what "state capture" was in Kwara Tambuwal is a political gadfly and a band-wagoneer. What has he done of note in Sokoto ? In fact what achievements has he done in Sokoto that would translate to Nigeria at large ? Atiku we know, both in notoriety and infamy. At this moment, PDP, going with triumvirate, does not look like a government in waiting. |

Sports / Re: Rising Karting Star, Ugo Ugochukwu Signs Long Term Agreement With McLaren by tundess: 8:44am On Mar 23, 2021 |
It's great to see McLaren investing in Ugo. Same thing they did with LH44 in the 1990s. That UU and LH44 are half-castes should give you a good indication of what marketing ploy McLaren have in mind in the future; pls their car is getting better and Ugo may end up joining Lando Norris in the F1 team. I'm not convinced Ugo is as good as LH44 was at the same age but he's good enough to win titles. I believe LH44 was a global world champion at the same age but could be wrong. The Ferrari Young drivers program is over-subscribed and to get into the RedBull young drivers program, you need big backers. Dan Ticktum, despite his speed was kicked out for being forthright in his views. I hope McLaren allow him to be himself without the PR corporate personality that the RedBull drivers are forced to adopt. Good luck Ugo ! We're rooting for you ! |

The Trump cult shows that at least 50% of the population want to be told what to do. It's the same mentality that got Buhari elected on the basis of his reputation as being "incorruptible". Even to the extent of shining lights or drinking bleach to cure lung diseases being proffered as reasonable scientific courses of investigation. Perhaps he can offer Greenlanders his "billions" to start his own country, TrumpLand. Only whites who fetishize on their daughters need apply. |

I've said it before and i'll say it again ; nobody with any sense should be celebrating Dangote refinery unless you have shares in his businesses (Which the political elite do). He is bad for business (monopolistic) and like all oligarchs, if unrestrained, suffocates competition, making it bad for consumers and government alike. There were ppl wow-ing and coo-ing about his refinery being a game-changer; for him and his sponsors and cronies, yes. For Nigerians, no. He is even attempting "State Capture" a la The Gupta's in South Africa. The govt has deliberately ceded the refinery environment to him and the Bua Group. I wonder why ? This is just the beginning of his manipulations. Someone above wrote of what Putin did to Russia's quarrelsome oligarchs. There's a video of him threatening them with jail or exile if they don't pay taxes and obey the law. Well, Putin was/is secret services so knows their files. Here, Malami was create an absurdity in law to allow Dangote continue to enjoy monopoly. |

Sagay is admitting Buhari has failed. Danjuma prescribed same prior and was pilloried. Buhari has Failed on the single most emotive issue he campaigned against Jonathan with; Security. A General has failed in his core speciality. What other failures are there that have been concealed from us, the general public ? We know he has failed on the economy. That is glaring and tangible. Sagay has played the part of confusionist in this admin well, particularly wrt to legal issues, doing legal gymnastics to disguise distortions of precedent by Malami. Foreign Affairs / Re: Trump's Administration Is "Irresponsible" - Joe Biden by tundess: 6:50pm On Dec 29, 2020 |
Ovo200: This makes sense only if you believe a country of 6 million should dictate the foreign policy choices of a nation of 340 million when dealing with a region of the world to which 2 billion people subscribe to the religion. Israel IS THE DEEPEST state you can belong to. Also, what to make of Trump's own boast that his administration has ordered $2 trillion of new military equipment and weapons systems ? This is at odds with your attempt to characterise him as some "peacemaker". The ME peace you give him credit for is predicated on containing Iran, a foreign policy objective of the GCC nations led by the autocratic Saudi Arabia. If there is one thing you should know about Iran is their resilience since 1979. And what was his tantrum towards NATO really about ? Weapons purchases and Germany's decision to seek energy supplies from Russia. He didn't start any wars but accelerated the nuclear programs of North Korea AND Iran, thereby limiting US strategic options. His belligerence against both nations have flopped. Corporate Tax breaks and historic Wall Street highs benefit who if not the 1% ? You've just come on here and regurgitated FauxNews points that even they have abandoned. Jimmy Carter didn't start any wars either and yet is widely derided by conservatives as a weakling. Now, not starting wars is seen as some badge of honour by the same critics of Carter. The greatest gift Trump gave to the world was exposing American coercion across a broad range of policies and making the rest of the world understand that whether Malawi or Norway, your interests must always come first. 1 Like |

The General prostituted the credibility of his uniform for a few kobo. Yahaya Bello has zero credibility on any matter with Nigerians. His principal achievements are his infamy in governance, election thuggery the likes of which Kogites have never seen and the celebration of building his personal homes in Abuja. This is all trending frm the FBA (foundational black american) designation started by Tariqlite to distinguish frm African-American bc of the superior attitude taken by immigrants towards their kin folk. It's a sad reflection as much on AA society in the US that these kinds of attacks on Africa are occurring as much as black Africa has failed. Angela Nwandu publishes about celebrity beef. She was born and bred in LA. The entire youth culture (her target audience) revolves around frivolities abt who is dating who and materialism. Her writing about Nigeria will not sell. Ms. Banks has an axe to grind. And that grind chimes with increasing numbers of AA ppls experiences with newly immigrant african peoples. The disillusionment is two way. 5 Likes |
