Who knew clout chasing was a part of the xy chromosome |
But Dangote and Bua will save us. Amen. Peep game ; destroy, undermine or wreck national assets then get your ethnic cronies to set up new "investments" in those fields that have been sabotaged. And people will clap and applaud you. Eg, Nigeria Airways, NNPC refineries, Power sector, NITEL, toll gates (to be or not to be) etc. The aim of the oligarchs (across ethnic lines) is absolute control by creating "facts on the ground". So their power can never be contested. I don't fault PMB for this mentality. He met the situation but he has accelerated the rapaciousness of the politico-business elite. Importing oil from Niger is just the closing of the circle re oil products. We the citizens are now hemmed in, with no choice but to patronise a "free market" regulated product. And guess who's profits will inflate exponentially ? The already stinking rich and their political fellow-travellers. State capture by stealth. |
The definition of commitment. And the West will try to foist this woman and the AfdB President as "presidential" material that they can work with bc they have been tested "internationally". Cf Sirleaf-Johnson and other "technocrats" they vet and approve of. What did they end up doing to their country but sell them out ? |
Exhibit A why he was unfit to speak at the NBA ; His temperament always betrays him. He carvorts with supremacist tendencies in one tongue, and preaches false pluralist society in another. A backstabbing, self aggrandizing elitist, whom, if his disdain for the "North" he pretends to defend were exposed, he would be the first to be condemned in the court of public opinion. On all sides. If you don't know, read what OBJ wrote about him. "Accidental" indeed. |
Aso Rock : They were hungry and needed food. Gov. Zulum :Or were harvesting for their agro ventures. Chief of Army Staff : Let's have a security meeting again. × 10 NASS : mumble mumble, maybe, how about we sack........someone, anyone ? Pretty please ? Govs Forum : We facilitate with Gov Zulum on the occasion of the attack on his convoy. How about we get a new architect for the security house ? Ad nauseam. Bottom line ; they have NO CLUE. They're in over their heads. |
saintade01:So pls explain Gov Zulum's outburst ? Pls also explain the merry-go-round of "security meetings" every time an incident cannot be swept under the rug. Pls explain why the Gov Forum and NASS have all called for a massive overhaul of the security "architecture" etc. Pls explain how, after being "technically defeated", the Chadian govt humiliated our high command into action in the Lake Chad region ? The President himself spoke of gaps in intelligence "synergy". After 5 yrs ? Are you not ashamed that a general who rode to power on the back of discontent about the deteriorating security situation and corruption has been reduced to platitudes about "doing our best" ? Btw, GEJ has stopped being a President for 6 yrs now. Or that the last line of defence to invoke GEJ ? |
![]() The race for piety always ends in "negative perfection" ( after Martin Amis ). There is always someone purer than you, more extreme, more committed. Stalin knew this well. Believe it or not, Shekau represents ( by association in doctrine ) a milder strand of the jihadist trend. His ideological enemies are ISWAP. To these trogdolytes ( the milder and furious versions ), smiling is a grievous sin. His complaint about the sanctity of the judges echoes what AQ typically write about the stewardship of the the Arabian peninsula ( and the two holiest shrines) by the Al-Saud family. Why should the ravings of a tramadol and kat child molesting mad man mean anything anyway? |
The Borno Governor (or his spin doctor) said Baga produces "45% of Nigeria's dried fish consumed". It stands to reason that BH are also involved in agribusiness to finance their activities. To claim they are "scavenging" is disingenuous at best or hopelessly misinformed at worst. Gen. Buhari is now claiming that the security agencies now need to "synergize" their intel capabilities. It begs the question what have they been doing this last 5 yrs. Thousands of lives lost and tens of thousands more displaced and our hopes lie in a team that couldn't organise a piss-up in a brewery. I find it more useful to listen to what the president of Chad has to say on the matter, not anything from Aso Rock |
Elsueno:Abi ? Negotiate. Give them their territory, form a strong defensive front around their area and let them be targeted by the French, US, Chadians etc, ie people who want to be rid of this terrorism menace. Because what's clear is that we're wasting tremendous money achieving nothing. And the service thieves are war profiteering. I wonder what metrics they even brief him with ? No of terrorists killed ? We have captured Shekau ( Again, ) LGAs controlled ? What happened to that BH wanted 50 list ,? Etc etc etc On this insecurity alone, Buhari's incompetence is unmatched. And as a "general", in security issues, he should be a subject matter expert. So what for the "economy" under this man ? |
RIP Warrior. May God give comfort to his wife and family. He was a victim of a "psychiatric" casualty. In Vietnam, soldiers would "frag" officers or fellow soldiers due to mental breakdown/psychological issues. Who knows how long the perpetrator had been in that AO, suffering psychological trauma ? How many deployments had he been on ? Was there some tasking that broke his spirit ? Some say they've been in the NE for 2 yrs on deployment. They are also victims in this selfish campaign designed to enrich the upper echelons. The BH spigot cannot now be turned off. That's why Burutai is being personally guarded by about a company and a half of heavily armed men. |
![]() El-Rufai wants ppl to invest in Kaduna as a "Northern gateway", yet investors can't travel through Southern Kaduna in order to conduct business in the capital bc of his incompetence on security issues. Notice all the problems are in Southern Kaduna. And he cannot intercede with the ppl of that area with any credibility bc, for the political expediency of bolstering his "religious" credentials in going for a muslim deputy (against agreed convention. Even then, he tried to pander to the "progressives" by selecting a woman), the people from that area cannot trust him. On any issue. How's that going to work ? |
I'm encouraged to believe that those whom support this woman are willing to be volunteers for a local Hxc'qine COVID-19 drug trial ? Reading these comments you'd think we could get thousands of eager guinea pigs. You know, to help humanity and every thing ![]() |
350 patients ? That's her sample size ? Also, I'm very surprised her results haven't been replicated/duplicated in, say, India (which has very high viral infection rates and has a history of using H'qine for a variety of ailments) or corroborated by South Korea or, heck, even Vietnam, ie countries which have dodged the worse mortality rates of covid ? It doesn't make her anymore convincing when she is sponsored by a political action group who's mission is deflect from the disastrous handling of covid by this President. 130,000 + deaths and counting ? "I'm not responsible....." Btw What happened with the Iwu concoction or the Madagascar Mixture ? ![]() |
Folks saying Akpabio was "threatened". With evidence that his allegations were lies ? He thought he could play on the negative public perception of the legislature by throwing mud and hoping it would stick. They called his bluff and he cowered back into his rat hole. Until the supervising Minister can account for the disappeared monies, the National Assembly should refuse to budget for NDDC, so long as Akpabio is Minister there. |
Refuse to pass their budget then. Simple. |
They called Akpabio's bluff. It's an easy accusation to make. Nigerians already believe the Legislature exists to line their pockets. So it was a get of "public opinion jail" card that Akpabio laid on the table. Let Akpabio/Executive publish a complete list of contracts awarded at the Ministry and the Commission since he became minister. |
I'm a Messilonian but you can't argue with that stat. What a player CR7 is. Relentless pursuit of perfection, at home and work. The man lives football. Works out constantly, striving for every sintilla of perfection to his advantage. And he is a winner. Nothing matters but victory. It's the art vs craft debate between LM10 and CR7. One has a game in which prodigious individual skill outshines team tactics, where dribbles and delicate flicks have all the elements of dance. The other is perfection embodied in a football player. Speed, height, conditioning, graft. His physical attributes are prototypical. At their best, they both cause one to draw breath and wonder "how ?" Alex Bellos once wrote that for Brazilians, even if your team is being trashed in a match, the chance to be stunned by a moment of improvisational brilliance just once in the game was the motivation to go to a match. Who doesn't want to be dazzled ? |
The Akpabio strategy; Throw mud up and hope it sticks. And his fellow travellers will always use it as a distraction. If the executive has their own proofs about the conflicts of interest, they should publish them. |
Will Iran execute the Iraqi PM whom had invited Souleimani to "discuss" a Saudi/Trump initiated de-escalation between the Kingdom and Iran over a range of issues from the Straits to the Yemen war etc ? https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7854971/Soleimani-Iraq-discuss-escalating-tensions-Saudis-killed-PM-says.html |
https://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/nyc-crime/ny-former-personal-assistant-arrested-fahim-saleh-murder-20200717-h5dtyqxjbfcprlw6h5ckmhj5p4-story.html Simple investigative work caught the killer; credit card purchases, the serial number on the taser prong linked to the taser linked to the purchaser etc. I don't understand how his boss can enter a lift with him dressed as bizarrely as described and not suspect something was not right. I hope "The Talented Mr. Haspil" gets to spend the rest of his days alive in prison till his natural death. RIP Mr. Saleh. I hope his family get justice that will ease their loss. |
Saraki is no victim but rather a symptom of how difficult it is to fight corruption. I don't care for Magu or EFCC's unprofessional and unethical, let alone unsuccessful methods and actions, but it's typical "Buki" to personalise everything to his ambition(s). Ask the Soc Gen depositors who had life savings and deposits swindled away. That case alone is worthy of re-investigation. |
Naira Marley should just perform at his son's marriage and all will be forgiven. For Naira Marley. |
Wait for it. I wouldn't be surprised if his admin replaced Akpabio with Ibori at NDDC. It's the kind of bungling we have come to expect. You put a known klepto in charge of the NDDC money spigot and are now acting surprised that all manner of allegations about his unbecoming conduct are emerging ? That idiom about organising a two ticket raffle comes to mind. PMB is unfit to lead. He physically cannot superintend over his admin. Can't work, can't travel, can't even contemporaneously address Nigerians on urgent issues. Add intellectual deficit and you have this omnishambles. He had 16+ yrs to plan his presidency. And this is what we get. |
Another "son" ? Is he older than the Amaechi "son" ? A rogue's gallery of "sons". First "I've never stolen a kobo", Rotimi, now erstwhile "former crusading anti-corruption activist turned govt lackey and SAN", Festus. El-Rufai should just reveal all the remaining "sons". Because I don't hear/see of any "daughters". |
The bigger question in all this inter-admin clashes is how fit is PMB for office ? I cannot believe that a president will not be aware of these tensions right across his cabinet; Ministers briefing against others; Governors fracturing party structure; Security chiefs absent from duty etc. It's never ending. I heard that the current ADC to the First Lady was previously the ADC to Gov. Yahaya Bello, a man who orchestrated the most violent election buildup in the history of Kogi state. He carried his penchant for violence to Aso Rock which resulted in the standoff between the First Lady's staff and other personnel. I cannot believe the President is compos mentis and yet allows this disorder to occur. It's clear he is not fit for office; either physically, which restricts how many hours he can work a day ( hence his late CoS being the de facto President ) or mentally (he cannot remember what he was briefed on an hour ago) or both. The persistence of Magu and the security chiefs in position by this president defy explanation without entertaining the fact that this man is deeply out of his depth. |
Massive revenue loss for those institutions. Foreign students pay full tuition ($45B in 2018 alone). 20% fees only charged ? US students will probably have to bear the brunt of the earnings loss to these universities and colleges by increased fees. Means more student debt. Seems like Canada, Finland, Singapore and the UK could be massive beneficiaries. NZ too. Lots of top Ivy League Colleges wont like this either; their board of directors have powerful benefactors and alumni. Potential money sources for Trump's election campaign. It's got Stephen Miller written all over this. Besides, international travel has not resumed from the US bc of it's high COVID numbers. How do you enforce this ? |
Where is Adoke in this matter ? Is he not connected ? Common case of N1B, EFCC officials have been implicated in extortion schemes up and down the file chain. So imagine these huge sums. Also, thua suddenly glare of publicity may not be unconnected to 1) Magu's existential fight to cling to his post, and 2) The Dubai/Hushpuppi brouhaha. Is it confirmed FGN also filed for his custody ? |
Lawan speaks, nobody listens and nobody cares. |
SmartProf:Thank you my brother ! |
SarkinYarki:The Central Park Five would kindly disagree. Bit what do they know. |
Fake news. It's CNN. ![]() |
Is the valet being disinfected with hydroxychloroquine whilst standing in a Florida heatwave, protesting for the beach to be open, at the state legislature? If so, he'll be fine in a day or two. Just a mild flu. ![]() |
