erico2k2: Public holidays are for civil servants by default, there is nowhere i n law that mandates private companies to observe public hoiday. But I get your point. Even some bankers will go to work during public holidays. Doctors and nurses and other emergency services go to work during public holidays! The bankers that go to work during public holidays get paid for it and the nurses and doctors fall into a special case of workers. |

I am not disputing the fact that they have to work monthly, but today is a public holiday. U employed them as teachers not marketers and even if u want them to do such work, why not make it during working hours, why must it be on a public holiday? |

NinjaMetahuman: How do you know it's not part of their job description?
Did you see the contract they signed before they join the school? People hardly read terms of service before they do anything. If it's not part of their TOS before joining the organization, they can sue if they want to sack them for not doing what is not part of their job description..
Anyways, technical jargons aside, it's not right to allow teachers to also be the ones doing that. But they don't have a choice because no job in naija. how can coming on holidays to share fliers be part of their job description. This is a general public holiday |

Genesiszero: Hahahahaha.....see theory of partial differential equation for neural network back propagation algorithm!!! mathematics is wonders, if you want to make some crazy stuffs with machine learning, you'll truly need a solid grasp of advanced mathematical concept especially probability and statistics, linear algebra, calculus! so that you can intertwine and manipulate frameworks while doing cool stuff!!!
Try equation reducible to homogenous second order non-linear differential equations, complex analysis, boolean algebra, vector and tensor analysis, number theory (permutations and combinatorics), real analysis, finite automata, rings and groups, numerical computations and lots more!!!
building artificial intelligence systems are no funny things to do, when i see this so called online tech vendors talking about web development and cajoling this young folks into taking machine learning courses, I marvel at their woke pressure on this young folks. the worst Is that most of them even have phobia for mathematics or numbers.
pursuing career in Artificial intelligence is different ball game on it's own.... it takes patience, commitment and dedication to attain acute mastery on this. here it takes patient and zeal to learn more but I don't think u have to learn the deep mathematical parts except u want to go deeper into machine learning. But if u just want to be building models and integrating it with application, then that isn't necessary. I know this because I have done some project on machine learning models. |

Education › Is This Proper In A Private School Settings? by tuzle(op): 11:24pm On Apr 30, 2024 |
I was discussing with a friend of mine who is a teacher in a private school. I jokingly told him that as par there will be a public holiday tomorrow, that he would have a day rest when work hasn't started yet. That was how he told me that the school asked them to come around tomorrow, that they will be going for publication to distribute fliers around the environment.
Now my problem with this is that this particular school each arm has A to E (for example jss1 A to E) and they have more than 30 students in each class. So I was wondering why they are now troubling their teachers for something that isn't in their job description.
Like why can't the owner employ people to help him do the publication or go to radio or tv station for advert and the fact the teachers won't be paid for what they are doing as it is counter by the owner as part of their work. Is this behavior proper because it kinds of sounds annoying to me working in the sun on a public holiday just because of the owners selfish interest.

Abbeytoy: This means if you're collecting 30k you'll now be collecting 40500 as a 35% increase and 37500 for a 25% increase.
If this is true, that's absolutely rubb?sh from the government. like absolutely rubbish. The 25% increase won't affect the salary that much because it will still be like chicken change added to the previous. They should have made it something like 50% which is still small compared to how things are now. |
Education › Re: The Plea Of University Lecturers To Teachers In Secondary Schools!!! by tuzle(m): 9:16pm On Apr 30, 2024 |
ChangedMan1999: Thunder fire 🔥 you
Are universities better?
Universities where lecturers for no good, justiciable and reasonable reason will just be hating students
Where not less than 70percent of lecturers have tested the Kuntus of different female students
See, it is even lecturers that are encouraging laziness among the female gender; when these females finally experience that allowing them lecturers stab their womanliness won't kill them, rather it will result upgrading their actual score, they will be looking down on hardwork.
Lecturers will contribute to your low self esteem, which mostly last a life time; they will humiliate you in such a way that you strongly believe that you are a failure
Forget what Pan Africanists tell us about loving our blackness and continent Africa; black man is nearest to the giant fork wielding devil with tail.
Listening to these lecturers talking ill about politicians will leave you in wonder and aware; you will be like is it this heartless man that is talking about immorality of politicians
To hell with the opinion of university lecturers
Lastly telling secondary school teachers and parents to muster all their efforts for the development of students is like a dentist filling up a rotten tooth without first clearing the cavity. The government are the ones that should first be told to be responsible.
Due to governments callousness and wickedness parents who should chanel at least 50 percent of their energy on their children won't have no choice but to muster more of the energy on work in order to feed, shelter their family.
So government should first be talked to before writing hypocritical letter to parents and students I think it depends on the school. Some universities just have sadists as lecturers and the system has favoured the lecturers a lot but in some schools like the one I went to, nothing concern the lecturers with u provided u don't pass ur boundary. I don't think I related with Amy lecturer throughout my stay or I saw any student that got punished unnecessary. There are sometimes u may have problem with script sha but that can be resolved with rectification. |

JUST PICK THE NUMBER FOR EACH CATEGORY, DIVIDE BY THE TOTAL NUMBER OF STUDENTS THAT SAT FOR THE EXAMINATION AND MULTIPLY BY 100 their calculation is correct, somebody pointed it out to me and I had to check again. The 200 above also covers the 250 above and 300 above. Same for the 250 above. |

santaclaws: The ministry of education is to blame. As funny as this sounds, let me break it down:
Most JAMB questions are based on A-level curriculum and for students to pass convincingly, they must read thoroughly, much beyond the scope of O'level syllabus covered in secondary schools. In the UK, students are meant to attend 6th form college where A-level courses are taught, thus preparing them for A-level exams and further studies.
We have an exam that is too advanced for most school leavers, but because the majority of students who pass have always depended on EXPO, we refused to talk about it.
Instead of the FG to have students stay at home up till 18, maybe we should add A-level colleges to the academic system so that students can either chose to write JAMB upon finishing secondary school or enter through A-level/Direct entry into 200 level. jamb have a syllabus and I don't think any A level question will be included in the exam. Most of the questions are inside the secondary school textbooks. The problem is comes from all sectors, from the students, parents and the teacher. If u check most schools today they are lacking one teacher or the other, or they change teachers regularly or the teachers fail to complete a syllabus in a term then skips it the next term. Another point is students are just too lazy to read. They just glance through and say they have read. Most of them would rather press their phone for 24hrs than read for an exam. They only read like 2 weeks to the exam which isn't enough time. Some it is even on the night of the exam they will read. Parents this days don't bother observing their students education this days. There own is just to pay school fees. When I was younger, my mom would ask me to bring my books each day after school and she would check it. She would also ask me questions on what I was thought for the day. |

That percentage is wrong, i wonder why they keep using it everywhere. Even jamb self failed simple percentage calculation. Modified: the percentage is actually correct. The way they separated it is what got me confused. The 300 above and 250 above still falls under the 200 above. So u only need to add the 26 to 74 which is 100. |
Education › Re: Why JAMB Will Not Release The Top Scorers’ Names In The 2024 UTME by tuzle(m): 10:17am On Apr 30, 2024 |
I don't understand o, is that not more reason to announce the names. For example during that mmesoma case because we already had the names of top scorers it was very easy to tell that she was lying. But now that we don't have the names of top scorer, anybody can lie and nobody except jamb will be able to tell if it is a lie or true. So for example if the news doesn't get to jamb like the last time, that is how they will give scholarship and the rest to the lying person. |

I learnt the calculation was too much but were given 2hrs only to answer 200 questions. 80 English, 40 for mathematics, physics and Chemistry. Wetin you expect?
Anyway, this will reflect the true capability of each students. in university they give 30minutes to answer 80 math question. For courses like gns and agric they sometime give 20mins to answer 100 questions. This is for cbt exams at 100l. |
