Politicians only know how to steal. All of them are the same. They keep stealing until they die. I would only take a Nigerian president seriously if he gives life imprisonment or death penalty for any politician caught stealing our funds.

Tell to private school owners who pay peanut and still want u to work ur ass out. I don't blame Dem sha, I blame the graduates who accept such inhumane jobs.

The hotel is at fault here. U don't collect money from a 12 year old boy and just allow him go swimming like that. The lawyer said he didn't use the protective gear provided, how the hell does an underage person decided for the hotel. The hotel should be sued because they are just after money and nothing else.

I asked my guy Allen the Chinese, he said there's holiday for 5days but you know our shipping company's boss has many waters in his head,he said no holiday with no compensation...... so you see,I've got first hand info, we need to stop thinking that it's only in Nigeria that these things happen, other countries have one or two things in common and if others in different countries can say the truth,you will realize that labor market or being employed get some bad sides which when you check other countries you see that they are almost similar

try to understand my point here. Yes there is an holiday and ur work doesn't permit u to go on holidays. We have many work like that in Nigeria such as hotel and some other works where they work during holidays. But in this case they aren't asked to come to school because they want to do their normal duties but because they want to go and do publication which isn't part of the job description.

If the answer to all these is yes. It means your friend had 3months paid holiday in 12 months.

4. Does the Labour law in nigeria guarantee that any employee would be granted 3months paid vacation? If the answer is No.

Then, with these few points of mine, l hope I have been able to convince you that doing your job and doing some more (not in your job description) is not too much.

One day, you would need some unplanned day off to deal with some personal issues (health issues, family emergency, post graduate exams, extended maternity or paternity leave…etc). What you sow now is what you would reap then.

I sympathize with your friend, but take it easy, life is simple and easy, for those who see it that way. I am spending my holiday now in the hospital looking after a friend.

private schools don't give breaks like that, the July/august break usually have summer lesson for a month which is compulsory for teachers, some school may no even pay full for that service as they decide to share the profit from the lesson. Also most teachers resume a week before the actual resumption date to write lesson note and prepare for resumption so the 3 weeks break isn't actually 3 weeks and don't forget they fix classes for ss3 student during the last break in other to prepare them for waec.

This is why sometimes we adopt a nonchalant attitude in Nigeria, it Mayday here public holiday and I am at work, I am a salary earner in London so get paid at the end of each month. There is nothing wrong if you have to go to work on a public holiday to carry out tasks.

the problem here is that, the teachers in this case aren't going to do what is in their job description but going for advert. How would it feel if u where asked to go out and do marketing for ur job on a public holiday?

Public holidays are for civil servants by default, there is nowhere i n law that mandates private companies to observe public hoiday. But I get your point. Even some bankers will go to work during public holidays. Doctors and nurses and other emergency services go to work during public holidays!

The bankers that go to work during public holidays get paid for it and the nurses and doctors fall into a special case of workers.

I am not disputing the fact that they have to work monthly, but today is a public holiday. U employed them as teachers not marketers and even if u want them to do such work, why not make it during working hours, why must it be on a public holiday?

If I know or suspect that the organisation has a bad management and doesn't pay well, I will advise you to reject the job. I myself have done it many times.

I support u, u don't have to stay in a place that isn't good for u all because of chicken change. There are schools that pay graduate less than 25k and will still be giving them difficult tasks, as a man if u take that kind of job just because u want to feed urself, then u are not serious.

I have taught In the past before and I know what I can do and can't do, but the one u will tell me to come on public holiday to come and be sharing fliers, is that the job I applied for ni. U are one of all those exploitative employee I am talking about.

People hardly read terms of service before they do anything.
If it's not part of their TOS before joining the organization, they can sue if they want to sack them for not doing what is not part of their job description..



Anyways, technical jargons aside, it's not right to allow teachers to also be the ones doing that. But they don't have a choice because no job in naija.

Try equation reducible to homogenous second order non-linear differential equations, complex analysis, boolean algebra, vector and tensor analysis, number theory (permutations and combinatorics), real analysis, finite automata, rings and groups, numerical computations and lots more!!!

building artificial intelligence systems are no funny things to do, when i see this so called online tech vendors talking about web development and cajoling this young folks into taking machine learning courses, I marvel at their woke pressure on this young folks. the worst Is that most of them even have phobia for mathematics or numbers.

pursuing career in Artificial intelligence is different ball game on it's own.... it takes patience, commitment and dedication to attain acute mastery on this.

here it takes patient and zeal to learn more but I don't think u have to learn the deep mathematical parts except u want to go deeper into machine learning. But if u just want to be building models and integrating it with application, then that isn't necessary. I know this because I have done some project on machine learning models.

I was discussing with a friend of mine who is a teacher in a private school. I jokingly told him that as par there will be a public holiday tomorrow, that he would have a day rest when work hasn't started yet. That was how he told me that the school asked them to come around tomorrow, that they will be going for publication to distribute fliers around the environment.

Now my problem with this is that this particular school each arm has A to E (for example jss1 A to E) and they have more than 30 students in each class. So I was wondering why they are now troubling their teachers for something that isn't in their job description.

Like why can't the owner employ people to help him do the publication or go to radio or tv station for advert and the fact the teachers won't be paid for what they are doing as it is counter by the owner as part of their work. Is this behavior proper because it kinds of sounds annoying to me working in the sun on a public holiday just because of the owners selfish interest.

like absolutely rubbish. The 25% increase won't affect the salary that much because it will still be like chicken change added to the previous. They should have made it something like 50% which is still small compared to how things are now.

Universities where lecturers for no good, justiciable and reasonable reason will just be hating students


Where not less than 70percent of lecturers have tested the Kuntus of different female students


See, it is even lecturers that are encouraging laziness among the female gender; when these females finally experience that allowing them lecturers stab their womanliness won't kill them, rather it will result upgrading their actual score, they will be looking down on hardwork.



Lecturers will contribute to your low self esteem, which mostly last a life time; they will humiliate you in such a way that you strongly believe that you are a failure

Lastly telling secondary school teachers and parents to muster all their efforts for the development of students is like a dentist filling up a rotten tooth without first clearing the cavity. The government are the ones that should first be told to be responsible.

Due to governments callousness and wickedness parents who should chanel at least 50 percent of their energy on their children won't have no choice but to muster more of the energy on work in order to feed, shelter their family.


So government should first be talked to before writing hypocritical letter to parents and students

I think it depends on the school. Some universities just have sadists as lecturers and the system has favoured the lecturers a lot but in some schools like the one I went to, nothing concern the lecturers with u provided u don't pass ur boundary. I don't think I related with Amy lecturer throughout my stay or I saw any student that got punished unnecessary. There are sometimes u may have problem with script sha but that can be resolved with rectification.

Omo my union bank account want to debit my life. Imagine all the charges they remove from u when u have money in the account.

Almost all states have government schools with dilapidated structures like that. I currently serve in ekiti, ikole precisely and i can assure u that u will find many structures like that.
