Let me use this medium to say thank you to all those that encouraged me with their lovely words at the saddest moment of my life, I appreciate you all, may God bless you and may you not suffer any loss in life, may God keep and protect all yours.

Let me not mention names, just too numerous to mention. I am pleased to inform you that the balm of gilead soothed me, it wasn't easy, but Godwin, He is always a step ahead!

I do really appreciate you all grin

To God be the glory. I had a stillbirth with a c section on 7th Jan. It hurt so bad, but to God be the glory, I bless God for His comfort already.

I had a still birth on 7th Jan. Its such a very sad experiece.
I used Dr Amanjoh of Methodist sugarland, I have no regret whatsoever! The baby has already passed by the time I got to the hospital for delivery. She stopped being just my doctor and is now my sister. D staff of methodist sugarland and dr Amanjoh are smply great, even as I grief for my baby, I reckon with them, I will simply choose dem again.

And Soulcare woman? God bless her for me, even thogh I'm alone in America with no friend and family, they filled d vacum well. She stayed with me all tru my CS, my 1st thought was to run out of the hospital and board d next plane back to Nigeria wt my pregnancy, but she stayed and held my hand tru the c section, her whole family stayed truout d day helping wt my grief, hers is more than a concierge, it's a calling.

To my roommate, you know yourself, I say Thank you.

To God, I bless ur name, cos you have already given me the fortitude to bear the loss, even though I waited 3 years for this journey. I thank you for defending my own life, and for all.

To my husband, God be praised, I appreciate you more.

Greetings mamas......
So I haf port to December o. My Prince Charming came this morning. Praise God with me...Mother and child are doing well.

As my BS no long, make I type am now

My EDD was 09th Jan. I went for antenatal yesterday and after series of scans, it was confirmed that my baby was big. I intended doing a VBAC as my last baby was born via CS. So scan showed baby weight as 4.1kg. My obygyn advised we book a CS and bring the baby out to avoid the risk of an emergency CS.
CS was done this morning and it was successful. Baby weight at birth was 3.8kg. To God be the glory. What a way to end the year grin

it ended in praise. We all shall testify.
Happy new year in advance sisters

Congrats former Teamie, it ended in praise. Your son is my boy's birthday mate. Enjoy ur new status this festive period.

Please house, can i schedule my new appointment to Lagos? The first one was at Abuja. Since Abuja didnt work for me maybe Lagos would....*sigh*

So so sad about the Loss! God will turn your story around for the best.

Reapply sharply, either of the 2 will be good.
Be WELL prepared, try and read back while waiting for your new appointment, you will get all d confidence you need. I did, and I went for my interview in Lag, fully armed. Use any opportunity you have to explain your previous loss and purpose for your savings, let hubby be ur sponsor, try to also explain ur hubby's earnings, try to pursue until you get what you want, don't be discouraged and do not be desperate.

Above all, PRAY PRAY PRAY, for no more loss and successful interview, it's actually the most important as far as I'm concerned. I pray His favour goes with you. Amen

So I was I was able to do money order at kroger yesterday with my stanbic IBTC card. I got 999 dollars money order and was charged 69cents! It's not bad at all, the only snag is the rate of 260 dollars at which I was charged by stanbic.

For those just entering US, since nobody is sure of what is going to happen come 1st Jan, I think we can explore this option of money order, we can raise 4k in 4 days as against d 300 ATM+bank charges, the only charge involved apart from bank rate is 69 cent. You can even have cash back, but cash back over 100 dollars warrants another 3 dollars charges.

It's better to play safe and try to raise @ least wat can keep us till we finish dis missionary journey, as for me, I no budget 260 NGN for one dollar, but I refuse to be stranded in Amelica! What will be d essence of d money in my naira acct wen I can't even bring it out for my use?

Currently having fun and enjoying Houston weather.

Planned to use oakbend but ported to Methodist, and dr Amanjoh. Seriously enjoying their services.

My card is charging 217- N219 for one dollar, it's standard chartered bank, and I can do 2k dollars transactions daily. I do not think it's bad, compared to 240 other banks exchange.

I'm also learning abt money order, I plan trying it today and will be back to give feedback, I went with 3k dollar cash and almost got stranded paying my 5, 300 hospital bill, tank God for my friend turned sister who suggested I use my one day 2k quota to pay her bill (she added cash to complete) and den gave me her 2k which I needed to add to my card one day quota and pay the next day!

Moral of the long story is, pls come with enuf cash, so as not to get stranded grin

Good Morning House,

I am very new to Nairaland but this forum has opened my eyes to different scenarios in the venture to give birth in the US. It has been really helpful and i commend everyone that has contributed to make the thread this popular and informative

Thanks House!

I believe medical visa is your best bet
I see no reason why you can't apply together, Whether you apply together or seperately, the issue of all ur immediate family been citizens will still come up
4million in your act is not bad, since you both are still working
Personally, I do not think it's advisable to pay hospital bills, some see it as desperation while some may see it as seriousness, but the fact is, why pay when you can still get it without payment?

The koko and most important thing is prayers prayers prayers.
I wish you luck

Congrats to all those that has put to bed, may God God continue to watch over babies, father and mothers.

@ chiwedym, I rejoice with you, because I know your case is setted in heaven, you and Ekene are winners.

Teammates, how is waddling? Una no hear from me you no ask for me! Continue, there is God o! I hope we are all set? Bags ready, shopping completed and waiting mood activated? I hope we have intensified our prayers? We can't do it on our own, with God all things are possible. Let's prepare spiritually as we prepare physically and I know the king of glory will make it easy for us and see us through. Pls, never forget the place of prayers! Let's tell Him how we want it and so shall it be.

Team December, it is well with you, God will make it easy for you all, you shall deliver like Hebrew women. Oya o, continue to drop our xmas babies like it's easy.

Kudos to those posting their POE stories as soon as porting. Been jetlagged, sleeping like a pregnant woman grin and shopping away.

I flew BA with a nairalander, a planned journey but it was worth it. Was at travelex d previous day and was told I cld only get PTA wt my burden pass.

Got to d airport early, went straight to travelex wt my cash only to be told they don't av dollars. But was advised to check back in 2 hours but with no promise.
Went to check in my luggage, fit to fly was asked, I went to port health where I got one, though backdated to 32 weeks.

Went back to travelex and eventually got 3k, after divine intervention (pls shine ur eyes and never sign wout reading what ure to sign)

BA flight was good and half filled up, got a window seat. And was able to lay on three seats and relax. The only but was that I was starved, crap food but I ate cos I was really famished.

Got a wheelchair at Houston and was wheeled to d CBP, about 5 pple ahead of me on d que, and it was finally my turn.

CBP- what are you here for?
ME- childbirth
CBP- for how long?
ME- 2 months
CBP-Any family in Houston?
ME- No
CBP- how much do you have?
ME- 3,000 cash and over 3m in my accounts and I av the card
CBP- you wil have to go for secondary inspection so your data could be entered

Was wheeled for d second inspection wt my nairalander partner, we have the same accomodation, same doctors correspondence.
We waited for about 5 minutes and my name was called, I was actually surprised cos we met lots of people inside

CBP- why are you here
Me- childbirth
CBP- do you have doctors correspondence?
Me- Yes
Glanced at it,
CBP- how much do you have?
ME- 3, 000 cash and 3 million in
CBP (interupted) how much do you have in total for the childbirth purpose
ME- over 16000 dollar
CBP- keep ur receipt, do not accept medicaid bla bla bla
( nothing was checked apart from docs correspondence).

Waited for some minutes outside d office for my now turned sister nairalander friend, we were botth wheeled for our bags, no question was asked and nothing checked

Waited a while for soulcare driver, we were driven straight to dia restaurant where we were treated to a free hot plate of pounded yam and rich egusi soup! Never felt so satisfied with ameal, after such punishment from BA food.

Already enjoying my stay and yet to have a boring minute, met so many new mums and Nigeria preggos already. Now waiting for my docs appointment.

All glory to God for the favour galore.
