I was shocked that you paid $8,609 for a C-Section. My wife just gave birth via C-Section and the total bill was approximately $46,000. However since I have health insurance, I only paid $1,000 out of pocket, and the rest was covered by insurance.

The American Health system is truly a strange one!
I am just as amazed. Sometimes I feel I must be living on a strange planet when I hear these costs.

Hello Gurus in the house , I greet everyone . I'm new here , this is actually my first time of putting anything up but I've following the thread for a little over a week . You guys are doing an amazing Job , kudos .

Please I have a few questions to ask you my people .

I graduated high school in 2007 , dropped out of Uni due to some circumstances and ever since . To cut the long story short, I have only the WARC result from 2007. I have been living in Dubai for a few years and now I'm ready to go back to school.

Guys, do you think I can use the 2007 WAEC result to pursue my undergraduate degree ?

Help me anyone.
My interview is less than one week nw, what are the likely questions i can treat for nw to make me prepare for the interview. I am really desperate for the US visa. Its a visiting visa with an invitation letter
You’re desperate, which likely means you may consider lying on your application. DO NOT make the mistake of doing that. Calm down, treat the visa as a nice to have but not the end of the world, after all it’s just a visit. You can always visit other countries if you’re denied.

Better to be denied once, than banned for a decade.

This is all you always have to say. Everybody on nairaland is now looking for visa because you are the only one living in the USA. And no I dont need a visa. I have lived 20years of my life here. And Aburo I am not upset. Stupid cunt.
Congratulations... you don’t seem to have much to say either. I’ve tried quite hard but found nothing of substance from you so far. For someone so intent on reinforcing his misplaced sense of superiority. You have precisely 10 posts here, every single one has been to nitpick what I or theamerican had to say... nothing of substance for your much vaunted “20 years here”. I presume those born here now have the right to overthrow nairaland? grin

Nah I know when I’m getting good advice and when I’m dealing with a horde of malcontents who are simply piggybacking on each other. The latter aren’t really saying anything coherently enough to be taken seriously. They are free to howl as loudly as they wish.

This your fourth lesson is for you, even you can't handle criticism and you run into your shell if 3/4 known people on this thread tackle your response. But we know the person that is making you feel like you are very important.
I would feel sorry for you if you require validation on a faceless forum to feel important. That’s something you should get from those around you.

Eh I read criticism from people here all the time. I’ve learned to take the serious ones and ignore the trolls.

Hello All,

I am currently on F1 in the US and my fiancee got admitted to the same University. I am wondering if it is fine for her to state this in her DS160.

I'll appreciate your contribution on this.
You’re not married so she is not required to state this. If she’s asked at her visa appointment, she is free to mention it.

Let me just leave this here... if you’ve noticed, most serious students with good gpas andvwho end up in tier 1-2 schools have zero time for the disgusting bitter bile often spewed here. I understand... much of it is largely coming from folks who aren’t as good, have limited opportunities and are frankly frustrated.

First lesson you will learn, your lot in life is NOT the responsibility of anyone else but you.

Second lesson - bitterness gets you no where.

Third lesson - there is no substitute for hard work.

Fourth lesson - you are not special. You won’t go anywhere fast in life if you can’t handle criticism.

Fifth lesson - your “spirituality” is quite silly. grin the idea that you can curse someone from your cyber cafe in a dingy Lagos street and think it has any effect is an illustration of why you are where you are today...

Now curse away!

Way too many people applying. They are trying to change this by first blocking your ability to apply multiple times in a short time period.

Let’s be frank. No one has asked you to pay all these fees. You do so with full understanding of the risks involved. I think it is more unfair to other kids, visitors, pregnant moms who are applying for the first time who can’t get a date because people are applying 5 times in two weeks.

This rule was long overdue. It is a consequence of us abusing their rules. A situation where people who have been denied a visa clog up interview dates was unfair to legitimate applicants.

Try applying from Nigeria. You can’t convince anyone you intend to leave the US to return to Kuwait after your studies. It’s obvious you are using this as a means to emigrate to the US.

Interviewed at Window 1 by an American lady

Me: Good morning

VO: Good morning

VO: What are you going to do in the US?

Me: I'm going to Duke University for my Master of Quantitative Management with concentration in Business Analytics

VO: Duke University is extremely difficult to get into. How did you do it?

Me: First of all, it was recommended by my industry mentor. Then, I took GRE twice and then the TOEFL. Then I applied and was interviewed before admitted.

VO: When did you get your undergraduate?

Me: 2016

VO: What have you been doing since then?

Me: During my mandatory National Youth Service, I worked as a Business Developer for a management consulting firm. Prior to that, I worked in multiple roles as a freelance business consultant.

VO: Have you traveled outside the country before?

Me: In 2016, I was an International Volunteer at a Community Development Project in Ghana (we chorused Ghana together)

VO: Who will be paying?

Me: I got a merit based scholarship, a loan and family support

VO: Married

Me: No

VO: Have kids?

Me: (I laughed) No

VO: Okay, I will be approving your visa. I couldn't remember the renaming things she said

Me: Thanks and have a nice day (after she completed her statement)

I appreciate the love, the bashing and the blackmail. Life itself is full of ups and downs.See you all at the top!!
You got admitted to Duke... pretty easy to grant you a visa... congrats!

Let those who continue to choose visa-mill schools learn from you.

Good day Everyone.
I'm a silent reader from Kuwait and I'm in urgently in need of you guys help.
I was refused F1 visa some weeks ago and the main reason was because I was refused visit visa in 2016.
This is the transcript

V.O: why did you choose New Mexico Highlands Uni

Me: I choosed New Mexico Highlands Uni because it's a public research institute which core values are responsiveness, diversity & excellence. It's a small & calm place to learn and grow. The computer science department has 2 large teaching lab, 3 small research lab & also an areas set aside for network experimentations. The classes are about 15-35students, this enables the professors to know you all by names and u can always meet them if you have any problem with your studies.

V.O: which countries have you been to

Me: Nigeria, Kuwait and United Arab Emirates.

V.O: where do you work and how much is your salary

Me: I told him

V.O: does your husband works for Us Army

Me: my husband is an accountant

V.O: ohh your friend works for US Army

Me: then I remembered the family friend sponsoring my visit visa back in 2016 works with the Us Army but lives in Kuwait. So I told him yes a family friend works with the USA Army

V.O: Are you going with your husband

Me: I'm going alone, my husband works here in Kuwait.

V.O: he types for a while and told me he is sorry, he can't approve my visa.

Please I'm planning to go for another interview by next month hopefully. I know it's hard to convince them since it's in their record I have a family friend in USA army but I need you guys help. I believe you can help me out. I just need to get this b.sc please. I will be patiently waiting for your responses.
Thanks in advance & God bless
The result of your next interview is likely going to be the same. The number 1 criteria to obtaining a non immigrant visa is that you demonstrate that you have ties that compel you to return to your home country. It’s harder for you to demonstrate that since you live and work in a foreign country. You’ve already shown a preference to emigrate.

Are you a citizen of Kuwait?

Pls choosing ERIE PENNSYLVANIA as a place to visit in US for a tourism visit. Is it advisable because this location is the same city I will be staying.

Secondly stating 20days in the form is it normal or I should reduce it.
Thanks for your swift response
I assume you have family/friends there? There’s nothing in Erie, well maybe Lake Erie. Quite boring.

please give a valid reason to attend those churches...how can i be serving a living God..the one and only true God and i will be living like a pauper..living from hand to mouth ..while unbelievers live better than me...pls give me a valid reason..i am waiting.
The “valid reason” you seek is clearly in the Bible that you obviously have not read. Jesus died a criminal, apostle James was beheaded, brother Paul was lynched, shipwrecked, jailed, in want.... yet these men wrote books, under the inspiration of Jesus, that we still read today, 2000 years later.

Man shall not live by bread alone...

So you call members of COZA gullible when your life is not as good as theirs; when they are more intelligent, fulfilled, wealthy, educated and informed than you. Take a trip to the church, if your life or your car is anywhere better than what you see there, then you can come back here to talk. The very frustrated goats that don't give a dime in church are the ones complaining while the blessed are giving.
This is the problem with the church. It has taught you that your spiritual growth is measured by your intelligence, wealth, level of worldly fulfillment, car type and education status. By this yardstick, Lazarus must be in hell fire.

Many of the apostles to whom we owe much of the New Testament died penniless, in jail or in pain. In John 16:33, Christ promises us tribulations in this world. What part of the Bible tells you that riches are meant for those who serve God?
