The Government of Akwa Ibom State is to constitute a high powered enquiry into the collapse of Reigners Bible Church International along Uyo Village road, even as it commiserated with the families of victims.

This was contained in a press statement circulated in the media and signed by the press secretary to the governor.

PRESS RELEASE

The Government of Akwa Ibom State has commiserated with the families of victims of a collapsed building at Reigners Bible Church International along Uyo Village road.

His Excellency, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr Udom Emmanuel was present at the church during the incident and thereafter personally supervised rescue operations and evacuation of the injured to the hospital. The State Government will undertake the medical treatment of the victims.

A high- Powered panel of enquiry is being constituted to ascertain the immediate and remote factors leading to the collapse of the church building with a view to forestall the re-occurrence of such incident and bring to book persons found to have compromised professional standards in the construction of the building.

In the meantime, The Government of Akwa Ibom State is appealing to citizens of the state to remain calm, pray for the injured and avoid undue speculation as the situation is being given the best possible attention.

On Friday earlier in the month at about eight in the night, Obi Bright Chinwueba was headed to Ikenegbu in Owerri, to obtain some items but unfortunately, he entered a tricycle filled with robbers.

A kilometer away from where he was picked, the robbers all came down with a belligerent attitude, pointing different guns at him.

They made away with valuables, including Bright’s phone, cash etc. He couldn’t believe it, though, but he was lucky they only stole from him.
This shows nowhere is safe from robbers, if they now attack tricycles, popularly known as keke NAPEP. Bright was lucky was to escape with his life, as he narrates in his Facebook post coming after the cut.

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, today announced that N12.7 billion has hit the account of the state government as Paris and London Clubs refund.

He announced this Friday at the Benue People’s House in Makurdi while speaking with journalists.

According to him, the amount was 25% of $181 million which was the total amount owed the state, with local governments taking 45% while the state utilizing the remaining 50%, as the refund demanded.

The Governor said he would meet with the relevant labour leaders in the state to work out an acceptable disbursement formula on Monday next week.

Governor Ortom noted that his government would comply with President Mohammadu Buhari’s directive to use half of the amount to offset salary arrears of civil servants at the state and local government levels.

He said the President approved that 50% of the total amount be paid but the Federal Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank were only able to pay 25% at the official exchange rate three days ago.

The Governor described the information that the state had received over N90 billion as false information that emanated from the opposition political party.

On the appointment of the next paramount ruler of the Tiv he reiterated his pledge that there would be no interference with the selection and that a date for the exercise would be fixed next week.

They expressed disappointment in him, wondering how the president, Muhammadu Buhari, could have spent eight months to appoint him as a minister. According to my friend, he and a girl had been together for four months and every time she comes to visit him she must ask for sex, even when she’s having her monthly period. A lot of times, my friend quarrels with her and tells her she’s too demanding and she’ll start telling him she would leave him, that he does not love her and he’ll keep quiet. He’ll agree to her sex demands, then they would quarrel and then settle their differences.

She doesn’t give him any rest concerning sex at all. Once, he was sulking over his failed examination, and she came for a visit and after telling him to forget the issue, she demanded for sex and they quarreled.

Their greatest quarrel took place today. After three hectic rounds of sex, my friend was fagged out. He told her so and they stopped. While my friend was resting, she moved close to him on the bed, whispering, saying they should have another round of sex.

My friend doesn’t know what to do about the girl. Many times, he has sex without being in the mood for it, affecting his performance negatively.
He’s thought about driving her away, but he hesitates about taking action in this direction, because apart from her lust for sex, she’s alright, especially as she assists my friend generously when things are tight money wise.

Online investigations reveal Ife princes and others

Chief Barida Kobani defected along with hundreds of his supporters and was received by Hon Maurice Pronen, House of Reps candidate of the APC for the Khana/Gokana Federal constituency.

Here is the statement concerning the defection, shared from the Facebook post of Kennedy Friday, a stakeholder in the Rivers Re-run polls.

“In a shocking development that totally deflated the PDP in Ward 1, Bodo, Gokana LGA, Chief Barida Kobani, uncle and confidant of Chief Kenneth Kobani who is the Secretary to the Rivers State Government (SSG) yesterday dumped and jettisoned the tattered umbrella of the PDP for the broom of the APC.

“Chief Barida Kobani defected along with hundreds of his supporters to the APC and were received by Hon Maurice Pronen, House of Reps candidate of the APC for the Khana/Gokana Federal constituency.

“The development, we gathered, is sending chills down the spines of the depreciating and disappearing PDP support base in Gokana, who are wondering that if an uncle to a high ranking government official in Rivers State could not find value in PDP to hang onto, what would become of the ordinary people with no proximity to power?

“Elders of Gokana across party line have in various fora told their people never to vote against their sons Magnus Abe and Maurice Pronen for any reason, a message which gaining currency and reverberating in the grassroots. Perhaps, that message may have influenced the decision of the uncle of the Rivers SSG to cross over to the other party with his supporters.

Governor Wike, who is increasingly becoming unpopular in Ogoni land certainly won’t be happy about this development, and in the coming days, his SSG may come under the hammer. APC continues to gather momentum in Rivers South-East ahead of the rerun polls.”

It appears Shehu Sani has not finished with the Kaduna State Governor, calling him a stinking 16-year-old unwashed and dirty underwear of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in a new post.

He said El-Rufai is a mucous that could be mistaken for a vanilla ice cream, a heap of excrement people may mistake for a bar of chocolate.

Sani said the governor once licked the anus and sniffed the farts of Olusegun Obasanjo and Abubakar Atiku to prove his loyalty but now doing so for Baba.

He called El-Rufai an accidental governor permanently consigning his state in the emergency ward of pervasive insecurity, a man with a perfidious history and patented habit of kneeling down to blow the organs of his masters to prove his fidelity.

Since we came to office on May 29th 2015,Elrufai's Kaduna APC held about 8 Press conferences and all the 8 Press conferences were about 'suspending Shehu Sani' or 'confirming the suspension of Shehu Sani' or "ratifying the suspension of Shehu sani" or 'affirming the suspension of Shehu sani'.It has ridiculously reached to a point that each time Kaduna journalist are invited by Elrufai's Kaduna APC is to write the repeated story of Shehu Sani's suspension.I have been so Suspended by Elrufai's men to the point that my car may not need suspenders again.Iam also thinking of opening a private chemistry school to teach students on suspension.I remembered my elementary chemistry where suspension is defined as "A heterogenous mixture in which the solute particles do not dissolve but get suspended throughout the bulk of the medium" I'm proud to be suspended by Elrufai,a serpent in the caravan of change.

Kaduna APC is a congregation of political appointees of Mr Governor,they want him to sleep,snore and fart without noise from Shehu .If my repeated suspension will earn our Governor a shirt in the Nigerian or American BasketBall team, I'll be happy.The very Elrufai's Kaduna APC that accused Shehu of disrespecting the "party" is the same one that reigned insults and abuses against the National Vice chairman North West who invalidated their cretinous vituperation.They are the same people who don't recognize and respect any Commitee set up by the national secretariat of the party including one headed by Katsina State Governor Masari.Their suspension ends in the executive W/C and then the cesspit hole of their Government House where it will converge with the outcome of Suya,Pap and Beans cake meal.

Professionally, I’m a journalist. I specialize in minding other people’s business, so it’s not surprising that I get saddled with a lot of hassles. On Friday, December 2, 2016, I was sitting in my office, minding my damn business, when I got a letter. I didn’t know the writer. Sighing, I opened it, and this is what I saw.

Hi, Tyokunbo, I know you’re not the person to come asking for advice, but I’m in a fix. I’m ashamed for myself, as I find it hard sharing my problems with other people, not knowing I’ll have to do so one day.

I’ve been married 6 years now, to a very pretty woman. She’s been faithful and loyal, always fighting my battles, and I told myself she would always be my woman. The love we share was so deep, but suddenly, I had an issue with my job as a chemical engineer to a multinational company. In short, I was laid off just before the present economic recession. My company saw it coming and decided to bail out of the country.

It pains me so much to narrate this painful story, but I have to do so, tell someone about my challenge, to make me feel better, get it out of my chest. In fairness to my wife, she consoled me, telling me things would be better, that life goes on, that I would find another job. But things only got worse, the recession had set in.

I felt so bad about losing my job, especially as I didn’t have any savings. We spent so much taking care of our extended families. I thought about killing myself, since life became so tough. But my wife stood by me, she was that type of woman. She never gave up on me, told me the pendulum would swing the other way. She told me that suicide wasn’t an option (we had two kids to take care of.) I didn’t go out much, had to stay indoors, since it was practically impossible to get a new job, because of the damned recession and all that shit. Besides, most companies needing my specialized service as a chemical engineer were taking their business to South Africa, Ghana, and Kenya.
Now, when I lost my job was the time all my plans went to hell, life wasn’t rosy anymore , because now I had no money. When I’m at home my wife was out on her teacher job and on and on and on like that.

The situation really pissed me off, with my wife always consoling me. Sometimes, I believed her; at other times, my sadness didn’t allow me see any light in the tunnel. Unfortunately, my woman has one fault – she was paranoid about paying our house rent (which is really a good thing), but not so in this desperate situation. The rent money was due, and the landlord kept pestering us. My wife was really scared, thinking about where we would find the money. One day, I went out to look for money but came back early, to see my wife and a neighbor’s friend doing the old business on our matrimonial bed.
After a very big fight, I sent her packing, along with the children, throwing out her things. She wrote me a long letter later. I wanted to tear it, but I read through out of curiosity. To cut the long story short, she said she understood my actions, that perhaps we should give each other a break, so I can try sorting myself out and balancing my life. She told me she did it because of the rent, that our neighbor’s friend promised to give her the money. She told me she hated doing it, but she couldn’t face the landlord throwing out our property and all the other shit. She said she didn’t want to face the shame, hence she did it. She said she was writing me not to return but for me not to see her as a bad person as she really loved me.

I’ve been thinking and all since I read the letter, and it’s really affecting me, because I know she was telling the truth. I remember how scared she was about the landlord and all. Right now, my life has fallen apart, with the landlord still harassing me and the recession biting harder. My woman is the only one who can console me (because I’m a kind of guy who has few friends, I have trust issues). I don’t know how to put the shattered pieces of my life together now I sent her away. We were so close, and she’s the only person I can tell my innermost secrets. I don’t know what to do now I understand why she betrayed me, because she’s a great woman who stood by me and wanted to protect me from shame. Let her go because of what she did? I just don’t know what to do.

I wish there was no recession that made her fall into the hands of our neighbor’s friend.

Pardon me if my details aren’t enough, don’t be mad at me. I’m just too confused about what and what not to put in the letter.

I folded the letter and placed it on my table. Normally, I can’t stand women who commit adultery. But in this case, I’m confused. What advice should I give to this man?
