HON. PATRICK OBAHIAGBON BLOWS
GRAMMAR ON THE ASUU STRIKE Becareful while reading, don't bite your tongue.

House Member, Hon. Patrick Obahiagbon never fails to amaze us with his grammatically inclined words.Read what he said on the current ASUU strike issue battling higher institutions in the country;

“This ASUU strike is a miasma of a deprecable apothesis of an hemorrhaging plutocracy, cascadinly oozing into a maladorous excresence of mobocracy. With all tarmangant ossifying proclivities of a
kakistocracy, your knowledgia centura is enveloped in a paraphlegic crinkum crankum. Therefore, ASUU, cest in dejavu, dejavu peret ologomabia.”

topaztee: @blawi1,tzetzefly...I only want to be assure that I will get dates availability for October before going ahead to make visa payment. The conference is holding early November, how sure will I get dates for October if I go ahead to make visa fee payment.
You can get an appointment date for October if you pay your visa fees on time and book a date immediately. There is no way you can know of an available date if you do not pay the visa fees and make use of the number found on your receipt. Follow the procedure here:

cute me: 1. Please I have both a government job and a boutique. Last time I applied for us visa b1/b2 category, I was rejected. reason was that I wasn't qualified for the type of visa I was applying for. I used my business as the source of income,I want to apply again and want to use my government work instead. Please is that wise to change it or would it cause problems?

2. Also,in my first application, that was rejected, I put in single instead of married because I hadn't changed my name on my passport (but I have been married for about a year before the first application), can I change it to married now so they can see I want to come back to this country?
Thanks
Lots of discrepancies in your previous application. Take note that you not disclosing material evidence in your initial US visa documentation, is a clear case of red flags in future application.

It's either you maintain your previous profile or have a solid reason for the new profile i.e. government job and married status you're about to document in the US data base......
Thank you so much for this thread!

My parents and my younger sister got American visas nearly two years ago; my brother and I got ours last year. I live in Canada now so when my mother and sister came to visit me, we all went to the US together (by bus since it was really close) just to make use of our visas before they expire.

However, my brother schools in the UK and my dad works at home in Nigeria and they've not been able to use their own visas. My brother's expires next year; my dad's in September. He was planning to travel just to use his visa for the traveling costs are too much, not to mention September school fees for this year. What happens if the visa expires without him using it? Will he be refused a visa if he applies again in the future?
No, they wont be refused an expired unused visas if they re-apply. So long as their reasons for future travel is convinceable....

Henries: thanks for the hint, pls dont u think it ll be better to leave it open n maintain my ignorance than to try n reseal n look as if am tryin to do a cover up.
Leaving it open to maintain your ignorance will lead to outright refusal of entry.

***Reasons:

1. It will amount to a situation of implied disobedience. Do you know that losing any document however small in that your package due to your decision, is going to result in your refusal to enter the States?

2. The CBP officer will then begin to wonder how many other persons have been able to view that document which is considered a confidential case concerning your spouse and yourself.

You had better seal that package and forget all these unnecessary questions!

Actually that package is meant for the Homeland security and CBP officer. It is better for you to repackage the envelope and apply an adhesive tape adequately in order to seal it.

In case you're asked at the entry point, do not lie about this only be quick to point out that you were not informed about the need not to look into the package.

chidi darling: Ok but do I have the chances of getting the visa or do I have to get ghana stamp I have a mexico visa and is gonna exp 12 what do I say if am ask or do I get ghana stamp pls I need an urgent answer
You need to stay very calm and relaxed, this your nervousness will not help you before your US visa appointment date.

The Mexican visa in your passport will not be known to the CO unless he is willign to issue you the B1 visa whereby your International Passport will then be collected from you.

The only reason your passport will be checked through for the presence of any type of visa, is if you claimed to have travelled to Mexico or any other country for that matter. It is only then the CO will want to see your passport for immigration stamps in order to confirm if your claim is true.

Aside from this development, you've got no problem. A trip to Ghana just for stamps is not necessary, please.

Your Mexican visa does not have any effect on this US visa you want to apply for. But just in case the CO asks you anything regarding the Mexican visa, let him/her know what you said above about a citizen inviting you....

And if am ask u have a mexico tourist visa why did u not traveled. Pls what is the answer to that question
The invitation letter will be required from you by the CO. He/she will want to have a look at it, it is very important.

Your document certifying you as a crane operator is also important and the CO will want to see this.

Your Mexican visa does not have a bearing on this current US visa application. But in case the CO asks you regarding the Mexican visa, then let him/ her know the visa is for tourism and that is where your reply stops no long explanations.

You need a contract letter or other form of correspondence from the US company showing an agreement between your company and the foreign firm.

And also a form of ID from your Nigeria employer to show your claimed job duties as a crane operator with a valid document authorising you to drive such heavy duty vehicle. Being a crane operator, is no joke.

You are to apply for a B1 visa which falls under the category of ''negotiating a contract.''

PoliticsLegislator's Earnings In Nigeria: Revenue Commission Finally Releases Details by tzetzefly(op): 11:37pm On Aug 04, 2013
The Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) finally decided to publish details of the legitimate salaries and allowances carted home by the members of the National Assembly.

The publication came in form of a public notice signed by Usman I. Garndawa, the Acting Secretary of RMAFC, who decided to publish this so as to avoid misinformation and misrepresentation of facts.

It’s incredible that the court order was not a strong enough reason in the past. The facts he attempted to clarify included that it is wrong to lump all salaries and allowances into yearly totals because some of them are not yearly but are paid once in 4 years.

Those include furniture allowance and severance gratuities, while vehicle loan is optional and is expected to be repaid before the end of the tenure.

The RMFC has arranged the allowances received by senators and members of the house of representatives as released by RMAFC in the table below:

ALLOWANCES: SENATORS , REPS

1. Accommodation: N4 million, N3.97 million

You will not be granted visa if you want to do the export yourself. Tell the American company to ship the equipments to Nigeria on your behalf.

You can visit the States to assess the items you intend to purchase into Nigeria for their authentication, before being exported by your US contact (You need a B-1 visa i.e.[negotiating a contract], for this venture).

OOT1: Hello Gents,

I just need advise on what my chances are in getting a US visit visa (tourist) in Oct. 2013. I am 39 years and am single Nigerian male, work with an oil n gas coy in Naija here and I have travelled to France, UK, Netherlands, France and Canada within the last 4 years. The Canada trip was in July this year. All the trips were on vacation except my first france trip.

My coy. pays for my annual vacation and I earn about 340K Naira/Month, I was refused Canada visa in March this year due to the fact that I left out the reason for my trip but I re-applied and the visa was issued but my challenge is that when I was refused the Canada visa, I paid for the US tourist visa form and filled the form on-line but didn't submit it because when I was filling the form I got to a point where I was asked if I had been refused any visa within the last 1 year and I thought my Canada rejection will be a lowlight so I stopped before I re-applied for the Canada visa and luckily I was given.

if I now complete my US visa form again for October and re-apply, can it have any negative consequence on the outcome? I just sincerely want to visit the US and return back to my work. Urgent response required.
You can apply for the US tourist visa. There's no problem at all.....

Since your business is well established as stated, it takes little to convince the CO. And for your income, you can as well tell the CO what you make annually after tax. Tentative monthly figures are unacceptable.....
TravelRe: Usa Visit Visa by tzetzefly(m):
shessyfavour: Hello Tzetze fly and the gurus in the aos i would like to have on your say on my issues as i am an interview coming up in Lag pretty soon.. Firstly i applied for a student visa in Feb 12 wasn't lucky and in Dec 12 i applied for business conf wasn't lucky again but in both application only the purpose of visit is different and marital status as i was single when i went in Feb, Now, i am invited to attend a national convention by an organisation in which i am a member , so ll like to hear your views as per what my chances are hope previous applications wont affect this one? I own my business( Dealing with electrical fittings and accessories) Monthly income 300k, i have been to UK twice in 2011 and in April this year i spent 6 days vacation in South Africa and i am married with a baby girl.

Also i would like to know the best way to answer when the VO ask how much do you make per month as you know that for a business man monthly income is varied so i was thinking of saying this " As an entrepreneur the income varies from month to month but according to my Audited and financial report for the year 2012 i made a net profit of 3.8m so it was that statistics used to determine the 300k monthly income which was put down in the form" I hope this response is okay i just don't want to say a figure so he wouldn't get impression that i just put any figure there..

Thanks so much in advance.
You need to have a consistent purpose to visit the States that was the reason for the initial denial in 2012. And you did not prove your job ties to the country at the time.

You claimed to run a business of your own, but when you go for studies in the States, you never stated how you were to run this business after your departure?

This affected your second application for conference. As the CO was unsure if your purpose was as claimed.

However you need beyond luck this time around, because your job is where you need to convince the CO about your ties to Nigeria.

And for your income assessment, you should base your reply on a yearly income from your business after tax.

I keep hearing stuffs like I might get denied again because I was denied with Student visa, Now I went to get someone to Invite me over, What does the Nairalander thinks?
Please I need genuine answers and advice here.

Your previous student visa refusal will not count against your current application except you applied previously with a false document(s).

If you intend to apply with an IV from your friend, it's best you are very sure of your friend's situation and circumstance in the States.

Better for you to apply for accomodation using a hotel booking to save yourself from unnecessary blunders.
Foreign AffairsMembers Of Uruguay's Parliament Have Passed A Bill To Legalise Marijuana. by tzetzefly(op): 10:39am On Aug 01, 2013
If it goes on to be approved by the Senate, Uruguay will become the first country to regulate the production, distribution and sale of marijuana.

The measure is backed by the government of President Jose Mujica, who says it will remove profits from drug dealers and divert users from harder drugs.

Under the bill, only the government would be allowed to sell marijuana. The state would assume "the control and regulation of the importation, exportation, plantation, cultivation, the harvest, the production, the acquisition, the storage, the commercialisation and the distribution of cannabis and its by- products".

There are other options for you to book with, you can try: KLM, Lufthansa, American Airline, United Airline, Royal Air Maroc, Air France, Emirates, Qatar Airways among others.

But mind you there's high increase in airfares for Newyork this August going for as much as #400,000 and above. You can also visit their offices at the MMIA to ascertain the cheapest fare to your destination or alternatively, you can fly to other US airports for alot less before connecting to your prefered destination with a domestic airline.

Such destinations as these ones below can be reached with either Emirates or Qatar Airways:

1.Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)

2. George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH)

3. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL)

4. Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW)

TravelNigerian Child ‘abducted’ By Norwegian Child Welfare by tzetzefly(op):
This is the story of a Nigerian immigrant in Norway, whose five-month old baby was taken away by the Social Welfare Services and given to a foster parent of Norwegian origin.

LIKE many African immigrants, when the duo of John Blessing and Emma Mansaray were leaving the shores of the continent for Europe, it never crossed their mind that better social life and unrivalled happiness which they were seeking for would be a mirage.

Though they left their respective countries, Nigeria and Liberia, at different times, destiny brought them together in the city of Drammen, Norway. As people of same race and colour, who share a similar story of harsh socio-economic realities in their respective countries, starting a relationship was not difficult. The affair which has remained promising till date, eventually produced a baby boy, Emmanuel Precious Okocha in 2013.

But that joy was shortlived. In broad day light of Tuesday, June 18, 2013, their baby was allegedly taken away from them by Norwegian Child Welfare Services, CWS. The development has left in its trail, emotional trauma, psychological torture, anger and regrets for both parents.

This is why the father of baby Okocha wants the Federal Government to prevail on the Norwegian authorities to return the baby.

Meanwhile, further investigations revealed that the practice of removing children from their parents, is not strange in the Scandinavian country.

RomanceWhat's With Women And Nagging? by tzetzefly(op): 4:47pm On Jul 29, 2013
Let's face it; most women are always going to nag, and most men are always going to cheat. It is, quite simply, human nature.

You can also rest assured that whatever it is she's nagging about is probably her fault. All right, all right, it's only her fault 99% of the time. She probably just thinks she added weight and needs a reason to vent her anger, but be sure you're not the one to break the news that she's "retaining water."

So since we know that she's going to nag for no apparent reason anyway, we might as well try to understand why women do what they do.

1. Female Nature
Most women nag because it is in their nature to do so. They grew up watching most of the women around them doing it and were taught that it was the best way to handle men and their occasional inability to function on a normal human level (so they think). This applies even more so to the women who are just coming of age, as they were brainwashed even more by television shows in which the entire emphasis was on pointing out men's many failings.

2. The big picture
Sometimes women nag over some seemingly
insignificant thing in order to work their way onto larger issues. She knows that it is going to get you peeved and plans on using that anger later to bring up whatever it is that is really bothering her.

However in all these situations, we still do have different types of female naggers:

1. The Innocent: This is the one nagger that doesn't really mean to nag. She brings up problems that she has to make you aware of, but tries to do so without making you angry or starting an argument. Chances are her intentions are good, she just needs a little work on her approach.

2. The Chatterbox: This nagger never seems to stop. But her nagging rarely escalates into real fights because you've probably learned to effectively zone her out.

3. The Riddler: Ah, the nagger that nags without nagging (say that five times fast). She says things like, "Would you like to try and guess why the green plates are not in the cabinet?" You have no idea what she's talking about and she knows it, otherwise why would she be asking in the first place?

4. The T-Rex: If she doesn't rip your head off while screaming at you, you got away lucky. It seems as though she actually grows horns when the nagging starts, the room gets a little darker, you know it's coming and there's no place to run. Good luck with all that.

The beauty of the US Diplomatic Mission is that they have no idle time to spare regarding verification of previous applications you make/made to other embassies or on your refusal status.

They only embark on security check when there is a serious sign or indication that you're likely going to be a security risk to the US....
