blawi1: @tzetzefly won't that prove nothing has changed if his purpose is tourism? a conference may be a plus but his financial status may affect this. His status has already changed with his travel experience. The only hindrance is when the CO starts pondering why an applicant who got refused four times for a US visa albeit for tourism, now suddenly decides to change his profile as going for conference. And mind you this applicant has never travelled for any conference related journey in his numerous past trips abroad. Now his decision is to apply again at one of the US Missions for conference. The CO's are trained / paid to identify a potential immigrant metres away. They are not always right though.... |
opsy4real1: no i have never been issued a u.s visa...however, wat do u suggest now that travel for pleasure might work against? I'm self employed wit a registered biz name wit CAC frm jan 2013...Do i apply to travel as per for conference then? ThxYour last US applications were for tourism and being consistent is what matters. Right now in the eyes of the CO, a change from your past reasons for going to the US, would be viewed with skepticism. I will suggest you still go for tourism, but allow a decent period before re-application. So as not to appear desperate..... |
opsy4real1: hello nairalanders, am planning to reapply the 3rd time for u.s tourist visa by july after conducting anoda one week trip to S.A and in the process of my s.a visit i plan to visit a new country not in my previous application for u.s visa like swaziland..thereby adding up to my travel history frm 3 countries previously visited to 4 countries in my nxt application....secondly, my pasport expires by jan 2014,and i read that passport must be valid at least 6months afta intended departure frm u.s. How do one go abt that?hope it wont go against?Have you previously been issued with a US visa? If your reply is no, then you need to be careful with your travel jamboree. Frequent travels for any reason aside business, shows you have no solid tie back home. This may eventually work against you than for you. Limit your pleasure travels to a specific cumulative period within one calendar year. And never always frequent..... |
OneNaija: I lost all process to post on Nairaland, please pardon me for posting through yours, I have a question.Your brother will need to travel on his own using vacation as his reason to visit the US. This must be done without involving that lady he has never met. Else, those visa officers will place him on a redflag for future visa applications. This will only result in this outcome: ''sorry you're not eligible for a visa at this time'' continuously, till your brother gets tired of applying...... |
biolabee: @tzetzeflyI really do not understand this question please.... |
balotelli: Dear forumitesGo with the two statements of account and present them to the CO if asked... |

Former Super Eagles handler, Christian Chukwu has expressed hope in the present squad handled by Stephen Keshi despite the team’s ouster from the FIFA Confederations Cup by Spain on Sunday. “We are out but our heads are not bowed, we played well. We used the matches to know our deficiencies in the team and the tournament served as a good preparatory ground for our remaining World Cup qualifiers. For now, we know what we need to fortify the team.” said Christian Chukwu. Chukwu said the team’s biggest problem was their inability to score goals. “Definitely, our attacking line needs the injection of good finishers. But I give kudos to Vincent Enyeama and his defenders. They did a marvelous job. Although they lost concentration at times which resulted in some of the goals, they did well. “The midfield? Not bad but we need a skilful midfielder who can feed the attackers well; not one who makes diagonal passes across the field.” Hamilton, a former national team coach also said the absence of Victor Moses and Emmanuel Emenike was felt, particularly, in the match against Spain. “We missed those two, but the exposure was worth the effort. I think I can see an emerging Super Eagles from this team.” www.vanguardngr.com/2013/06/what-eagles-need-chukwu/ |
Every quarter, the Osun governor, Rauf Aregbesola, sits down for an all night interview tagged ‘Ogbeni till Daybreak’ in which he attempts to answer various questions and concerns of the Osun people and give an account of his stewardship. Aregbesola used the latest edition of the program which held last weekend to make clarifications on two issues which he described as rumours aimed at causing disaffection. The first had to do with the allegations that the governor once slapped his deputy, Mrs. Grace Tomori. The governor insisted that it wasn’t possible for him to slap the deputy governor, as a cordial relationship exists between the two of them. “I have never beaten anybody in my life. In fact, I don’t beat my children, let alone beating any other person. More so, the Deputy Governor is older than me, so how do I beat an elderly person. “I don’t have any quarrel with my Deputy, and I can’t have any with her because I intentionally chose her and no one choose her for me. “I think I can work with her and that is why I chose her. So, no differences exist between us,” he said. www.thescoopng.com/i-never-slapped-my-deputy-gov-aregbesola-denies-the-rumours-during-7-hours-interview-program/ |

Bousso Dramé is a young Senegalese woman who recently won a French language competition organized by the French Institute of Senegal. She was awarded a return flight ticket to Paris and a training in documentary film-making for winning said competition. She however renounced the whole thing after finding herself on the receiving end of vexing and humiliating comments from employees of the French Institute and of the French Consulate in Dakar. This could have ended there and nobody would have ever known about it. But unlike those who have been in her shoes before her, Bousso Dramé penned a candid and eloquent open letter to the French Consul-General in Senegal, first published on DakarActu and later republished on Rue89, that has been making the rounds of the French- speaking African net She makes clear that her decision, in her own words, is “not a sanction against individuals but against a generalized system” in which visa applicants are met with suspicion and contempt before anything else, and that she renounces “in the name of those thousands of Senegalese who deserve respect”. Those words have brought her much praise from fellow anonymous visa applicants and Africans in general. They have however been met with more interrogations than approval from French readers who have been asking what she is refering to exactly. Indeed her letter speaks volume to those who already know what she is putting her finger on but appears elusive to those who do not. She did go into more details in the interview that she gave to Jeune Afrique. More than the clerk at the French Consulate who reportedly told her “she wasn’t paid to hand out smiles” — the kind of rudeness one can face in any (French) administration no matter who you are, it is the “recommendations” from French Institute staffers that are most telling: because she would be “representing the French Institute”, she would have to “behave” and resist “shopping temptations” despite a “very generous per diem”. The concerned White man telling the little Black girl to keep clear of his world’s niceties for fear she be bedazzled into oblivion… Sounds familiar yet? www.africasacountry.com/senegalese-award-winner-tells-france-to-shove-it/

Italy manager Cesare Prandelli has apologised for saying that Mario Balotelli was the only player allowed out of the team hotel in Brazil because he is black. Security advisors told the squad they should not leave during protests that have marred the Confederations Cup. Prandelli said the AC Milan striker was permitted to leave the hotel because his "colour is different to ours". But he later said: "I'm sorry. It was a joke. Of course." It emerged that former Manchester City striker Balotelli was involved in charity work, helping children from some of Salvador's poorest areas. "Before I said something about the colour of our skin," added Prandelli. "I am glad we clarified that issue about why he was the only one allowed out. "He was surrounded by all these people but he was working with a charity and doing something nice." www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23012368

lilbro: ok thanks alot. i ll go with the hotel thing that am more comfortable with. i just pray i get an appointment date between july and august ending which is my proposed dates of travel because of the rush, i dont want an eye lid raised by the CO asking why i m coming for my interview after my proposed travel date, or has the system changed, is making an appointment for interview not the final step? or maybe i should apply now, go for interview as against december for my travel date what do u think? i m just trying to tread safely! It is now easy to get interview date within days or weeks unlike what was obtainable in the past when you have to wait several months...... |
lilbro: seriously i was amazed @ the TRV refusal from canada, their reasons dont even add up to me they quote; i have not satisfied them that i would leave canada based on:1. Apply with your family as your circumstance has improved from the last time you visited the embassy. More travel experience a couple of times via family vacation to the UK. Book a hotel accomodation for the whole family. However if your family friend can accomodate your family comfortably in his residence, ask him for invitation letter and a copy of his utility bills and tenancy agreement. Take note that if you use the invitation letter from your friend in the US, your purpose for going to the States now changes to ''visiting and not tourism''. 2. You can get an interview appointment date for July if you submit your form within June. It is summer season hence the rush for visa. |
Here is a list of women guys should stay away from... Women are always quick to state what they hate about men, trying to prove that it's them who should work towards keeping the relationship going. However, it's not always men who are to be blamed. Let's face it, as there are things women hate about men, there are also quite a few things that men hate about women. Here are few kinds of women that men tend to stay away from: Miss clingy Believed to be every man's worst fear, this type of woman frequently verbalises how desperate she is to get married. Clinginess is a big mix of insecurity, possessiveness, and other self-esteem issues. Men generally end up identifying such women only when they can are well into a relationship. Though such women initially appear to be independent, once they are in a relationship and feels safe, her neediness begins to manifest. Miss I, me, myself Unlike other women, these are the ones most men will give chance and try to win over, simply because these women are a challenge. Because of the strength these women possess most men tend to avoid commitment with them. However, they are captivated by this strength and view winning them over as conquest. These women have both, the competitiveness of a man and the sensitivity of a woman. In an instant, they can switch from being seductive to emotionally distant. In fact, they use their hatred for men as a shield to avoid being hurt. Miss I'm the best It is believed that successful women are the ones men tend to feel threatened by and to an extent it holds true. Actually, men are not threatened by successful women, but are of the opinion that successful women do not need them. A lot of women often say that they do not need a man to make them happy, as they earn good money, own a house, and have a wonderful social life. Such women do not depend on men and this is what puts them off the list. Definitely men do not want a woman who is totally dependent on them, but when a confident woman allows herself to depend on them, man get flattered. Miss chatter-box For a man, a talkative woman is neither good nor bad. Most women are accused of being too talkative when, in reality, they are speaking more simply because they are discussing a subject that is of great interest to them and not just because women talk more. In a woman's world, everyone speaks together. In the world of men, it is considered rude to speak out of turn and one is not to be interrupted by the other until he's done. Therefore, when a woman asks a man a question and he proceeds to answer her - and then she begins to interject her opinions for the next 10 minutes - he'll just quit trying. Miss read my mind For some reason, a woman expects her man to know exactly what she's thinking at all times. As a result, she constantly tests him, using his responses to gauge his level of love. This type of behaviour should be avoided, as very few men are interested in dealing with the constant guessing games. www.m.naij.com/news/37893.html |
Optimisticgondy: Good afternoon my Ogas in the House. It is going to be a difficult venture but not impossible. Note however that if you're discovered by the Police / Immigration for this illegal act, you're going to be filed for deportation and likely future ban from the States.... |
lilbro: hello tzetze fly thanks for everything, i have been following this forum for quite some time now and i need advice on getting a u.s visit visa. i intend travelling with my wife and 2 kids say august ending 3 of us have a 5yrs uk visa and my 2nd child has a 2yrs u.k visa we r truly frequent travelers to the u.k and just recently came bck from a trip. i have a phobia for the u.s embassy as i have always bin refused visa for like 4 times from 2005 to 2008. i just got refused a Canadian TRV and i have summoned courage to re apply for a visit visa again to the u.s since 2008. i work in a reputable oil & gas firm and my pay is good, money truly is not a problem. before now i have used invitations from friends now i want to make an hotel booking in 2 tourist areas california and new york. i just need ur candid advice on what my chances would be after 5yrs of application and what to do since i dont want to leave any stone unturnedThere is clearly something you're not doing right in your applications. But i tend to wonder how you come about obtaining the UK visas for yourself and family, and fail to get the Canadian TRV. Actually there's nothing to fear in the US visa application process. The CO only wants to know that you're a genuine traveller willign to depart the US before the expiration of your stay. Once you can prove this, then they have no reason to refuse your application. Between 2005 and 2008 when you applied, there must have been a process you followed and documents you presented. It is necessary we know what you encountered during that period, for us to advise you accordingly.... |
balotelli: hello forumites i have taken a keen interest in this forum and i want to ask that i intend applying for a us tourist visiting visa and i have two people inviting one is my aunty and the other person my chilldhood friend who is also a citizen do i ask both of them to send me an invitation letter and i intend to apply late july when do u think my interview will come upA letter of invitation from either of them will do just fine, two IVs are not necessary. You can then state that you will be visiting the other person in case you're asked by the VO. That is if you intend visiting them both... |
dream23: House Please help....our invitation from my wife's cousin came today ...but the supporting documents like his bank statements, and other bills is that of january 2012...is it good? And if not apart from an invitation what else can I use..thanks in advanceYou need recent utility bills for 2013... |
FrontPageLawyer: Thank you.Your recent denial has nothing to do with her previous application in 2007. The CO does not know your wife until she appears herself for thumbprint. And the dots start to connect from there. You have a lot to explain if your wife shows her face at the embassy with you. But without her, you're just a Mr FrontpageLawyer who got refused US visa yesterday... |
FrontPageLawyer: good morning gurus. After the denial yesterday, I concluded the CO wasn't convince about my family, since it was her last question, why I wasn't traveling with them.Your wife's case just complicated matters for your recent denial. Now every CO you come across will think you know of the initial mis-representation by your wife in 2007, which presumably was the reason you applied alone in 2013. She has come up with how many names already: Abigail Ekpo Shawn Ekpo used for her US application 2007 Abigail Shawn FrontPageLawyer presently.... She claimed to be married in 2007 with name number two in the US records. And now a new marriage in 2008 with name number three. Is either she comes up with a divorce letter with paper publications to buttress her claim for this new marriage in 2008, or she gets seriously banned from entering the US.... |
