TravelRe: Emmi Wuks: Benue Man Riding Bicycle From Nigeria To US Reaches Benin Republic by U09ce: 9:51pm On Jul 03, 2025
Interesting. How is the journey gonna be when he reaches Gambia? I checked and saw that there are no passenger ships from west Africa to the US
PoliticsRe: FG, Kaduna To Collaborate On Light Rail Development by U09ce: 11:51am On Jul 03, 2025
Apart from Lagos and Abuja, I don't see any city in Nigeria that needs a light rail system. Let's have an efficient public bus system first. Lagos is the only city that has made a good attempt of the BRT system and it has really helped them. So, running a light rail system wouldn't be too herculean on them.
Kaduna needs no light rail. Put 200 buses on the city roads and see the impact.
PoliticsRe: Customs Budget N14.39bn Luxury Vehicles For Senior Officers by U09ce: 11:45am On Jul 03, 2025

It is very very bad sir.
Nigeria is the poverty capital of the world. We are too poor to be living this ostentatiously.
Bro is it Cotonou cars you want them to use? Reason am na
PoliticsRe: Customs Budget N14.39bn Luxury Vehicles For Senior Officers by U09ce: 8:48am On Jul 03, 2025
For, this isn't that bad seeing that most of the brands are locally assembled. It's cheaper than buying Prados which cost more than a 100 million each. My biggest problem with govt vehicles is how they are auctioned to retiring office holders at giveaway prices. This shouldn't apply in these perilous times. Even companies which has policies using cars for four to five years, have since adjusted. We shouldn't be buying new vehicles for govt officials every four years.
BusinessRe: Business Tycoon Aminu Dantata Laid To Rest In Madinah (Photos) by U09ce: 6:20am On Jul 02, 2025
I see many spurious and bigoted comments here. First of all, the deceased died outside Nigeria and he had a wish to be buried in a particular. It wasn't compulsory but the family wanted to fulfill his wish which the Saudi officials granted. His case is an exception. He's not the first muslim billionaire or reknown Nigerian to die. Did you ever see them taken outside the country to be buried? Yaradua and Abacha died and both were buried in Nigeria. Several billionaires of the Dantata dynasty died and were interred in Nigeria. A prominent Lebanese Kano billionaire died in Lebanon but he earlier willed that he should be buried in Kano and so it happened. So what's all this fuss about?
PoliticsRe: NNPC Completes River Niger Crossing On AKK Gas Pipeline by U09ce: 9:47pm On Jul 01, 2025
Zionmdde:
While this is commendable

It's also worth noting that, FG is taking a pipeline and Gas right from SE to the north with intentions of even getting the gas to North Africa. Meanwhile the pipeline carefully evaded the SE. Uzodimma is obviously not interested because he must always bow to his masters in abuja
One nigeria indeed.
Did the OB3 pipeline also evade the SE? Just asking
PoliticsRe: 11km Completed On Section 1 Of Abuja-kaduna Highway – Umahi by U09ce: 9:28pm On Jul 01, 2025
Umahi always using technical jargons to confuse the gullible. Did he really say 80 inch stone base? That's unrealistic.
Why insist on a concrete road in the north when the terrain doesn't necessarily need such a pavements? The 11 km he claims to have been completed which I even doubt is only on one lane. Those who play Zuba will bear witness to slow pace of the work and unprofessionalism of the contractor in handling traffic diversions. Also how does the road compare with the asphalt road constructed by Julius Berger is some of the road section before Umahi forcefully terminated the contract?
Umahi brought a contractor with no known history of handling major projects just because of his ulterior motives. Time is an arbiter
PoliticsRe: Tinubu Declines Assent To NDLEA Act Amendment Bill by U09ce: 11:56am On Jun 26, 2025
hopexter:
If their salaries are not enough for them to work efficiently, they should resign. It’s not by force to work for government except you have ulterior motives which the NDLEA seems to possess.
Are we talking about the workers only or the agency itself? No dey muddle up things na
CrimeRe: Salome Adaidu: Court Sentences Killer Gospel Singer To Death By Hanging by U09ce: 11:27am On Jun 26, 2025

PoliticsRe: Tinubu Declines Assent To NDLEA Act Amendment Bill by U09ce: 11:26am On Jun 26, 2025
kolexy:
The things you mentioned can be appropriated for in the budget.
Oga forget that budget thing, because the process and implementation have been bastardised. The politicians allocate humongous amounts to low priority sectors and leave the high priority ones hungry of funds. That's one of the issues that the police have been facing. That's the reason you see them trying to set up a trust fund.
PoliticsRe: Tinubu Declines Assent To NDLEA Act Amendment Bill by U09ce: 11:17am On Jun 26, 2025
If the funds will help fund the activities of the NDLEA, why not assent to it? No one needs to tell us that the agency is grossly underfunded. They lack vehicles and equipment. Their personnel appear poorly kitted. Almost all their state offices are derelict. They have few or no accommodation. How are they expected to work efficiently?
PoliticsRe: Massive Protests Erupt In Kenya As Citizens Demand President Ruto’s Resignation by U09ce: 11:07pm On Jun 25, 2025
It's good to protest bad leadership. But many times it ends up being a gateway to more chaos. Democracy doesn't suit Africa's current realities. Without an iron hand, there's no way we'll make headway. The politicians will continue messing us around.
PoliticsRe: Does Nigeria Have Air Defense System? by U09ce: 7:29pm On Jun 24, 2025
Kemetian:
Shocking lack of intelligence displayed on this thread.

Why exactly should Nigeria spend billions of dollars on cutting edge “air defence systems” in anticipation of Missiles from Who exactly?

America?

Britain?

Israel?

China?

Iran?

Who tori Olorun?

Who wants to drop Cruise Missiles or Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles into Nigeria?

Every country worth its salt has billions of dollars of investments In Nigeria, plus planned investments, from China to Russia to even Iran!

If we are talking of military ranking, Nigeria is 3rd in Africa after Egypt and Algeria.

In fact we’re 2nd. It’s not fair to add Egypt because they are heavily funded and armed by the US as a counterweight to Iran etc in that region.

Nigeria ranks a very respectable 31st on Earth, out of a world of 202 countries.

The Nigerian military ranks above Portugal, the Netherlands, Mexico, Argentina, South Africa, Morocco, Switzerland, Colombia, and many other countries. See link below to Global Firepower Index.

The military does not spend money on equipment for which there is no rationale.

Nigerian military spends big money on armoured carriers and such equipment for its most pressing issues - terrorists.

Iran military spends big money on air defence systems because her own problems are different from our own. She is facing Israel. Enemies.

Pakistan spends big on air defence systems because of India with whom they have endless problems.

But you can bet that Sri Lanka and Bangladesh next door to Pakistan Don’t have any big “air defence systems”.

Why? Because they have no threat or enemies to expect a cruise missile attack from.

So military equipment procurement is not about ‘bragging rights’, you children.

It’s about strategic procurement based on your current threats.

See the respected Global Firepower Index for national rankings.

https://www.globalfirepower.com/countries-listing.php
Good points, there. Personally, I believe we've been spending more than necessary in terms of defense spending. We can get same output with 70% of the cost. A big credit goes to Buhari for the unprecedented strengthening of Nigeria's military

ukukaegbu:
If the total actual millitary budget is actually spent on the millitary without their normal corruption, Nigeria should be N0. 1 in Africa.

But let them first defeat boko haram and the bandits, then we are good to go.
That's true bro. Yes there's corruption in the military. But there's no way you can beat Egypt in procurement because of the military aid they receive from the US
PoliticsRe: CNG Buses: Uba Sani Declares 6 Months Free Transportation In Kaduna (Video) by U09ce: 2:40pm On Jun 20, 2025
Let's see it implemented. Because Uba Sani is full of propaganda. For one, the city of Kaduna itself has only two CNG stations. Zaria has none. Same with Kafanchan and all other LGs. These buses have been stocked at the government house for more than six months, waiting for the right time to score a political point. That was when PMS was around 1200 Naira

Why aren't you asking same question on the US and its cronies who bomb innocent victims in the guise of fighting terrorists? Is that one good usage to you?

PoliticsRe: The Need To Strengthen The Legal Department Of The Nigeria Police Force by U09ce: 6:16am On Jun 18, 2025
Except for VIPs, every other aspect of our policing is undermanned. There lies the opportunity to create employment for thousands of of unemployed youth. If we like we can continue buying the super tucanos and apaches of this world, but we'll never have a peaceful environment unless our policing system is thoroughly rejigged.
EducationRe: FG Conducts First-Ever National Common Entrance Exam Into Technical Colleges by U09ce: 5:37pm On Jun 17, 2025
This TVET initiative is one thing I support wholeheartedly. It's time we left the purely bookish approach to knowledge. Everywhere you turn you see substandard structures and items which is partially due to poor technical skills. Majority of our artisans only learn on the streets, with many even struggling with basic arithmetic and measurement. If such people are given a window to access relevant techniques, we'll surely see an improvement
Foreign AffairsRe: Iran Will Never Be Allowed To Have A Nuclear Weapon - G7 Leaders by U09ce: 8:56am On Jun 17, 2025
A small country of less than ten million people called Israel is allowed own nukes, but an ancient country of more than a hundred million people isn't allowed. What sort of double standard is this!
PoliticsRe: Umahi Defends Tinubu, Says North Has 52% Of Legacy Projects by U09ce: 5:09pm On Jun 15, 2025
Another series of balderdash from Umahi. Let him show us the progress on the so called Calabar to Abuja, Akwanga to Gombe, Sokoto to Badagry roads. We've seen seen through his bigoted plots.
