Agaba123, I guess that pretty much solved the form issue then. But, I'm still not happy that the captaincy wasn't given to Nasri. @ A-40. I thought I was the only one that had same view. None of my defenders this season has scored while in my team. I miss such points that Vermaelen, Dunne and the like used to bring in last season.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Nairaland Fantasy Premier League 2010/2011 by U1(m): 8:30pm On Dec 10, 2010
Ritchboy, I do not think your explanation for the form issue cut it. Why? For last gameweek, I checked player's form for the week (from the stats view) and Carroll was on 7.0 while Drogba was on 3.8 (I think). In the end, Drogba had the captaincy, and except if the default emergency captain criterion is now value, I don't know why that should be so. huh

Though things were not fantastic; even Libran FC & FC Wendoworld don overtake, I'm happy I didn't make another transfers aside that of Nasri. I would probably be 7 points worse off by now.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Nairaland Fantasy Premier League 2010/2011 by U1(m): 8:17pm On Dec 04, 2010
What I feared would happen has happened. For the very first time since the season started, I'm out of the top 10. What a week!

Lord, abeg o, na Nasiru (I mean Nasri) I want to be my team's captain.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Nairaland Fantasy Premier League 2010/2011 by U1(m): 5:02pm On Dec 04, 2010
As Nani no dey play today, make this FPL people jejely give the captaincy to Derogba or Nasiru, if dem no want trouble. At least that one go cheer up me a bit.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Nairaland Fantasy Premier League 2010/2011 by U1(m): 2:43pm On Dec 04, 2010
Only goodness knows the kind of week this is going to be, with Nani (C) & Vidic not playing. That leaves me about 7 or 8 players, including subs. Who is going to save me from slipping down the table?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Nairaland Fantasy Premier League 2010/2011 by U1(m): 10:19am On Dec 04, 2010
Hey, Wendo! How about moving down? grin Since you stated that you just need to move out of the 8-10th range. grin Staying up this past weeks in the league has been pretty tough. I remember when I joined the league, I debuted in the 3rd spot. But once I started slipping, I have not been able to make it back to the top 3. I don't even have an idea of how this week would go. I needed to make at least 3 transfers but I decided against it cos it may not be worth the points deduction at the end of it all. With a bit of luck, and God's favour, even a 2-player team can accumulate more points than that of 11.

hasyak:
n the El Grand Classico pre match conference, a reporter asks Ronaldo as a footballer what do you bring to the sport as a whole.Ronaldo responds, "God of Soccer sent me to earth to show the world how football is meant to be played".Later in the conference as Messi sits alongside Guardiola, the same reporter asks Messi what's his opinion on ronaldo's comment.Messi replies, "I didn't send anyone!"
Now that was funny. cheesy I didn't actually get it immediately. It was quarillio's "ROFL, u don craze finish." post that made me reconsider it.

Now where are those Madrid fans as well as sympathisers running their mouths here yesterday. E nbe, eshi npada bo wa bebe It was 2-6 in favour of Barca two seasons ago, and now a 5-0 thrashing from my boys. Now, tell me that's not convincing enough; you fit say that only if you people are scapegoats.

Madrid, who is your daddy? Barca!!! cheesy grin I'm particularly happy that Mourinho didn't have any answers to the questions asked by Barca. So happy! This is Christmas in November. grin

That was a heck of an "El Beatico." Or should I call it "El Iya re." grin

Borokiri Boyz are well positioned to make a surge for the top. The downfall of a team is not the end of its season. We will rise again like a phoenix from the ashes.
Never thought I'll be this close to the Borokiri Boyz in just matter of weeks. cool Hopefully, I'll jump over them soon. grin

Take am easy, friend! If it's about swearing, na me suppose swear for Drogba: he was the captain for the week. cheesy

chamotex:
No player got a clean sheet bonus this week . . . . all 20 teams scored.
Chamo, you probably didn't have Vidic in your team; Vidic got clean sheet bonus because he was substituted before Blackburn scored.

I'm seeing red arrows all over for most of my private leagues. Surprisingly, I was able to move up one spot on Nairaland League only.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Nairaland Fantasy Premier League 2010/2011 by U1(m): 7:14pm On Nov 28, 2010
Pretty pissed right now. I think these Chelsea fellas have been affecting my team's points with their bad luck long enough. I even made a somewhat bigger mistake by taking the captain status from Nani and giving it to Drogba; thinking Blackburn would prove tough nuts to crack for Man U. Having Berbatov as my only player and captain for the week would have been a better tactic. Drogba! One more week to deliver or you are out! For good, I believe.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Nairaland Fantasy Premier League 2010/2011 by U1(m): 7:23pm On Nov 20, 2010
Even more shame on these chealsea players! Drogba and Malouda, I give una 1 week to shape up; else, una don go be that. That aside, I wonder why I benched Foster because of those toothless Chelsea bulldogs. Got me praying Mignolet doesn't play, unless he is going to keep a clean sheet and save a penalty too. huh

Shame on these Chealsea dudes! Drogba couldn't even score a goal against Sunderland; time to take his captaincy from him. As for Samba, buying him has been more harm than good; he's got to go.

I thought I was the only one having injury headache. I had already completed a transfer before learning that Nani, Malouda and Van der Vaart are injured. Hope it's not true that Nasri has joined the party too.

Na who go come dey for my midfield now? huh

@ Ibime. Man, I dey feel you big time! Been enjoying the permutation and combination. I must agree with you as per the players listed, and if not for the point penalty (I think -4 points is too much), I would have looked for a way to get Ashley before now. I had to sell Chamakh because of his cagey start he had to the season. @ topic. What pains me right now is the fact that I am unable to do manager substitution from phone (been getting error messages). I'm not sure if there is going to be any show for Nani today (Stoke can sometimes be stingy, you know), and to think Nolan is sitting on the bench with all those points. Arrgh!

What I found painful is the fact that I sold Bale, Song, Anelka and Zanetti. Arshavin was a waste of money.
