Politics › Re: Igbos Politics Vs Nigerian Politics, Samuel Akintola Echos Amhadu Bello by Uchek(m): 5:07am On May 19, 2023 |
OLODO RABATA! flokii: The Igbos didn't want to hear anything like secession or breakup in the early sixties when they were the ones in government.. All the juicy posts in civil service, education, foreign affairs and foreign missions, etc. were held by them.
Ahmadu Bello in his interview claimed Igbos were the ones in Northern civil service before he came and had to introduce Northernization policy to make sure no Northern job was held by outsiders especially Igbos and it worked and has remained so till date.
Akintola too said it that out of 112 people employed at the Premier University in Nigeria and in Yorubaland, only 3 were Yorubas while the remaining close to 100 were Igbos (a University in Yorubaland o). They made sure the VCs in Ibadan and Lagos were Igbos but Northerners resisted such in their own domain. He said something about Igbos always wanting to fill themselves as top to bottom in every organization they find themselves and it is 100 percent correct. Reason the younger generation Yorubas must wake up and take up what rightfully belong to them in this present day and time. Don't let anybody call you tribalist to guilt trip you, you have every right over your lands and jobs in South West, Nigeria. Our parents allowed Igbos feed them with lies that Northerners are bad, are this and that just so Yorubas can be out of mainstream politics in Nigeria which was exactly what happened. Reason so many States in South West aren't looking so posh as Lagos that had British presence first and later Federal government.
The Igbos despite having power didn't develop their region but were busy enriching themselves, living flamboyant lives and sending their wards on scholarships and abroad trips with Nigerian government money. Akintola said it that no tribe in Nigeria enjoyed half of what Igbos enjoyed from largesse at the centre, yet they claim victims all the time.
If Igbos tell you they want biafra, tell them to leave and never return. Let them go and rule over themselves as they please. |

You are a liar. Britain had an upper hand and de ided what was included in the coonstitution. If Awo didn'tlike it, why didn'the opt for Yoruba independence. ZIK opposed secession verbally while Awo opposed it action wise by going to war and killing millions to stop secession. So who is the greater evil? Omoluabi1stborn:
This is what happens when you are too lazy to read and do research.
1. Awo and Northerners wants secession include in the constitution
2. British opposed it and doesn't like the idea
3. Zik also opposed it
4. Since zik opposed it, it gave the British upper hand, had it been the zik did not opposed it. The British would be left with no choice |

OLODO RABATA! There over 50 checkpoints from Lagos to Oqerri extorting money from travelkers heading East and containers transported to Alaigbo which makes goods in Igboland e orbitant and outrageous. Is Kanu responsible for this evil? 68% of containers arriving Lagos Ports is heading to ABA and Onitsha. The value chain if economic activities that would have benefitted Igboland if these containers were imported through Eastern corridor ports are lost permanently. These has been going on for over 50 years. Is Kanu responsible for this economic suffocation? blinking001: IPOB is against the progress of the south east region. They've turned a once peaceful south east region into a battle ground for all manner of idiotic nonentities.
If only they studied their history they would have properly appraised their chances of attaining victory thereby coming up with better strategies that best suites todays reality. They allowed an illiterate from the gutters to rule them. They sheepishly and shamelessly soled their voices to an albino who lacks the ability to see behond his emotions. He turned a very good political/social movement into a terror organisation. Thanks to him and his likes, the south east is today a shadow of itself. When emotions are high, it gives room for social vices and terror.
You don't seek to peacefully break away from a sovereign nation like Nigeria without preparing for war. If their emotions didn't get the better side of them I'm sure they would have come up with better strategies.
The Nigerian Government isn't responsible for the poor state of the south east but their Governors, national house of assembly members, senators, chairmen and councillors are infact the very group of entities stopping the south from progress. How come this truth is so difficult for us all to see?
Like feminism, all IPOB needed to do was to ensure they infiltrated the government by having policies makers in government like federal house of assembly members, senators, governors, chairmen and women etc and then enact effective policies that would propel the south east region towards prosperous economic growth but on the contrary IPOB been led by an Illiterate chose terror over common sense. Too bad they are now pointing accusing fingers at everyone but themselves.
If only Nigerians knew the enormous wealth this great country of ours commands we all would have held our leaders accountable for all the wickedness and injustice they've inflicted upon us. The rulling political elites of this country are running a highly extractive political and economic system whose modus operandi is to ensure the poor keeps getting poorer.
I hope that someday, eyes will become opened and the common man will rise up against the evil political elites of this country. |

Agree with you! gidgiddy: Arewa Youths once threatened Igbos and gave them 3 month notice to leave the North, none of them were arrested
Minyetti Allah has severally backed the murderous killer herdsmen and their campaign of terror, none of the leadership of Minyetti Allah has ever been arrested
FUNAM(Fulani Nationality Movement) have threatend people for grazing rights, they even wrote a threatening letter to the sitting Governor of Benue not to implement anti-grazing or face consequences, no one was arrested
MC Oluomo, Oba Lagos and others can say anything without fear of arrest
Frederick Nwajagu, the ceremonial Eze Ndigbo Ajao estate, made a short video where he lamented that Igbo lives and businesses were being attacked in Lagos, and that Igbos need private security. He opined that IPOB should be brought to Lagos to protect Igbo businesses when they close for the day, to deter those attacking Igbos. He also said that Igbos are not trouble makers and are not fighting Yorubas, but that Igbos should be allowed to vote their choice.
At no time did he threaten anyone, at no time did he threaten violence, at no time did he encourage any violence, if anything, he was after security and peace
For that, the authorities arrested this man of almost 70 years old, and charged him with terrorism.
Had the Sarikin Fulani of Ikeja, if such exists, said the exact same thing Nwajagu said, would he have been arrested?
Had the Baale of Dolphin estate, if such exists, said the same thing Nwajagu said, would he have been arrested?
Nwajagu was targeted just for being an Igbo man
The stupidity of this case is truly baffling because you cannot be talking about terrorism, and the protection of life and property in the same breath. Terrorism is about the destruction of life and property, not the protection of it.
The only thing the authorities want to do is charge the old man to court so they can go on with their useless adjournments, same as they are doing with Nnamdi Kanu
Some people might say he invited IPOB, a terrorist organisation to Lagos, is mentioning IPOB now a crime? Why the case is very weak is that nobody even knows what the Eze Ndigbo meant by "IPOB"
The man could easily go to court and say he meant the "Igbo people of Benin" and case will totally collapse on its head since nobody is his head to tell him what he meant
The case is pointless |

Nigeria is in her 4th Republic. In hiw nany of these Republic has Yorubaland been the MOST PEACEFUL? IPOB is terrorist organization in Nigeria, a FAILED STATE. But IPOB is a free organization all over the world -- particularly in Europe and North America where rule of law and fundamental human rights of citizens are respected and protected. Can you explain the dissonance? flokii: The Eze ndigbo passed his boundry no doubt.. that your people are accomodating and supporting terrorist organizations doesn't mean other ethnicities find such appealing. Yorubaland has been the most peaceful for a reason. The moment a Yoruba feels threatened, he/she will go full force to terminate such threat. I won't be surprised if that Igbo man is sent to jail for the rest of his life over that statement he made about inviting IPOB terrorists to Lagos. |

OLODO RABATA! FreeStuffsNG: This is the way serious govt should work. Expose, prosecute and jail those behind the politics of hate, lies and tribal/religious bigotry that almost marred our democracy. It is not enough for their principal, Mr Obi, to deny that he has no hand in their crimes, govt must do its own duty. This man openly declaring his link to a terrorist group and threatening to unleash them on his Yoruba hosts in Lagos has committed serious crime he must be prosecuted for.
Politics is over. It is now full time for governance and prosecution of crimes .
All of them including those who criminally defame and cyberbully other Nigerians online must each be arrested and charged to court .
If we do not want our 2027 elections to be tainted and truncated by this mob of cyber criminals who molest, threaten, curse and criminally defame innocent Nigerians then each of them must be taken by DSS and prosecuted. And it was Awo's economic policies as Finance Commissioner and most experienced and smartest member of Gowon's war cabinet that devasted Biafra and won the war for (Northern) Nigeria. You sure do contradict yourself! Chiefpriest1: Very intellectually stimulating text. But Awolowo never supported the war against the igbo people in this write-up.
