What is a necessary evil? Second, what is ur ethnicity? Burob: The first legislative passed the law, Nigeria became a Republic in 1963, even Tafawa Balewa & Co visited Yankee, hosted by JFK in 1963 to understand the system more, but unfortunately couldn’t implement it, due to tribalism, nepotism & what have you, the military came in, & did it by decree.
It was a necessary evil, because the major tribes of the regions, Hausa, Igbo & Yoruba were oppressing the minority tribes too much, ie, revenue from their resources, where going to Kaduna, Enugu & Ibadan. |

So what is ur point? LegendHero: Lol, the lady did some delusional tactics well. Most of the things she stated there are lies for USA or she probably live in the extreme suburb where she has to take 2hours ride to get to the nearest city.
—Consistent internet which will give Wi-Fi for a home for instance should be within $60-$100 monthly. Your phone bill could be $30, but it’s not gonna power most of your household gadgets and etc coz that $30 won’t be on an unlimited data plan.
—How can 2bed rent be $9600 per year? Does she mean in Houston for example, you’ll get a 2bed apartment for $800? She’s probably hallucinating.
In ATL for example, house rent in the city area for that 2 bed are usually within $1500-2500 per month. On top of that, you pay Light bill, gas bill, and the apartment monthly charges on sewage and common area if you live in an Apt complex. That could be additional $250 on it.
If it’s now mortgage, no way in hell will you get that monthly payment.
On average, in a city, you’ll pay nothing less than $18k yearly and that’s even being conservative. It could go up to $28k in total for most cities.
—I agree with her groceries of $700 monthly. That still make sense if you’re only spending on food.
However, to go out to a restaurant for 2 people, you spend nothing less than $80-100 in one sitting especially for Nigerian food restaurants. To the lounge, you spend nothing less than $100-$150 if you factor hookah and drinks for 2 people.
Except if you be get inside person will you even spend that monthly. Coz me I count jollification with food price. |

What is your ETHNICITY? DeepThroater: Many an Ibo will lie boldly to your face and tell you that there exist imaginary cultural ties between them and people of western Cameroun.
This is of course all a big lie.
When you ask them where all that brotherly love was in the Plebescite of 1961, they will either lie again and tell you the UN conducted Plebescite was rigged or that western Cameroun parts in the then old eastern region were a victim of propaganda by both the British and northern Nigeria to leave the old eastern Nigeria.
The truth is that western Cameroun people trapped in the old eastern Nigeria were victims of oppressive and marginalising policies of neglect and disenfranchisement carried out by the majority Ibo populace on ethnic minorities trapped in the British drawn colonial borders of eastern Nigeria.
This was not only the plight of just the people of western Cameroun but that of every non Ibo tribes trapped in the British administrative region of the then old eastern Nigeria.
Under southern Nigeria protectorate, there was no clamour for a return to Cameroun as the British administered the whole protectorate through direct rule in a fair and equity manner.
The clamour to leave Nigeria began only when the southern region was split into two and semi autonomous direct rule was introduced by the British.
The minute the majority Ibo got power in 1953, agitations by not only western Cameroun but also other ethnic minorities in the eastern region to be free from the Ibo dominated east began.
So what we have here is evidence of Ibo arrogating and no apologies oppression and marginalisation of ethnic minorities trapped with them in the British created eastern region.
The then Eastern region was the only region that was so restive in terms of ethnic nationalities wanting to be free from it. |

sTOP THIS FALSE IGBO NARRATIVE. ZIK DID NOT WIN ANY WESTERN REGION ELECTION.SHOW US EMPIRICAL EVIDENCE! Penguin2: Awolowo!
The first Nigerian tribalist.
Azikiwe’s party won majority in Western Nigeria which would have seen Azikiwe become the Premier of Western Nigeria. Awolowo went to all the Yoruba people that won election under Azikiwe’s NCNC and told them “Yoruba Ronu”. And that was how all of them defected from NCNC to Awolowo’s AG a night before inauguration which gave Awolowo’s party the majority and thereby helping him become Premier.
Again, when Benin and Delta was still part of Western Nigeria, Awolowo wanted to force Yoruba as Lingua Franca for the entire subregion even though the Binis and Deltans had their own languages.
Till this day, there’s no legacy project that can be attributed to Awolowo in Benin and Delta when they were part of Western Region. But Michael Okpara built the Presidential Hotel in Port Harcourt and also the Trans Amadi Industrial cluster in Port Harcourt when Rivers was still part of Eastern Region.
Awolowo was the most divisive character Nigeria has ever had. He’s the one that Tinubu learned from and is trying to even outdo.
Our fathers were right to reject him as president. |

Thank you, my brother, for identifying the NUCLEAUS OF IGBO AGITATION! agaba77: Op most of your arguements are based on economics. What many non-igbo nigerians do not understand is that ndi-igbo's #1 priority in life is not about making money, rather it is the freedom to pursue their God given destiny without artificial hinderance as curently obtains in Nigeria. The second issue is lack of fairness, equity and justice. Igbo culture and mindest is very strong on these issues.
These two issues is what is driving the agitation. Igbo businesses lost billions of naira by oberserving the sit at home, if its all about money they would have ignored the order.
Keep in mind that Hitler confisticated billions of dollars in jewish properties and busineses. The Jews lost everything they had worked hard to accumulate all over europe. Today some of the richest people in europe and the entire world are jewish, from Zuckerberg of facebook to Sergei Brin of google. Ndi Igbo will start from scrath if need be and still prosper greatly because its the culture and in their dna.
The solution is more autonomy to the regions so they can chart their own course and control their destiny. |

"The truth about it all is that the Aburi agreement prevented Gowon and his fellow Northerners from getting that which they wanted most, the economic and political control of Nigeria" You said it all! gidgiddy: Poor student of Nigerian history. The January 15 1966 coup is not what caused the civil war, many countries in Africa went through coups and did not fight civil war. The civil war did not start until 18 months after January 15 coup anyway
What caused the civil war was the inability of Gowon to implement the agreement him and Ojukwu signed in Aburi, Ghana
Gowon and Ojukwu reached a 12 point agreement in Aburi, but when they returned, Gowon started denying the agreement, and broke the agreement entirely with Decree 14 which abolished all 4 Regions and created 12 states, then followed it up with Decree 15 which ended resource control
Item 7 on the Aburi agreement expressly forbade Gowon from tampering with the 4 Regional structure Nigeria had at the time unless "all 4 Military Governors of the time were in agreement that he should do so"
The truth about it all is that the Aburi agreement prevented Gowon and his fellow Northerners from getting that which they wanted most, the economic and political control of Nigeria
So when Gowon broke the Aburi agreement, Ojukwu had only two choices, accept the situation and bow to the North in slavery, or declare your freedom and fight for it, no matter the cost
What did anyone think an Igbo man like Ojukwu was going to do? |

Politics › Re: For A Second Time; What Have The People Of SE Don Wrong. by Uchek(m): 7:34am On Jun 12, 2023 |
U ARE A LIAR Ofemmanu1: IGBO in their confusion, infusion and frustration arising from pride and over estimation of themselves leading them to a series of saboteur maniac syndromes. Igbos broadly divided other Nigerians into three broad categories- Those they hate, those they deride and those they fear. Those they hate are the yorubas whom they call traitors, tribalists and cowards. Yet no race in Nigeria have been more tribal than the IGBOS. There are historical facts to prove this. If something is ten and igbos are not allowed to take 15, so that the rest of us can share minus 5, lgbos will cry marginalisation and label the rest us tribalists. However there is no race in this country that have been more accommodating of the lgbos than the Yorubas, there is no single igbo leader that did not grow up in the South West or is a beneficiary of Yoruba largesse. Zik went to CMS GRAMMAR SCHOOL, Adolphus wabara went to AHMADIYA COLLEGE AGEGE, Ken Nnamani went to LOYOLA COLLEGE IBADAN, Ojukwu and Ekwueme went to KINGS COLLEGE, Okpara went to YABA TECH while Phillip Emegwali went to AQUINAS COLLEGE, AKURE. Even my brother Anadu went to IMADE COLLEGE OWO, Peter OBI made Lagos Home after 8years of Ruling Anambra etc. All major Igbo politicians cut their political teeth in the West. Their major religious leaders cannot thrive outside the West. Pastor Muoka, Pastor Ezekiel of Four Square and Okonkwo of TREM are examples. I remember that after the civil WAR, Igbos who came back to ILE IFE were allowed TUITION FREE while the YORUBAS in NSUKKA were rusticated. Example is Pastor Adeboye. Yet lgbos reserve their greatest hatred for the Yorubas for reasons being that the yorubas refused to be dominated by the yebbos to confront the North. As to the label of cowardice, had there been any war between the yorubas and the lbos in which the lbos defeated the Yorubas? In the whole ancestral history of Ndigbo, which war has the forefathers or great forefathers fought? Any empire in their history? Yet the yorubas have worsted the lgbos FIVE times in the political history of Nigeria.
As to the label of treachery, had there been any agreement the yorubas signed with the yebbos and they reneged? The answer is no. Yet the yorubas have records of Igbo treachery on the two occasions they formed alliance with them. In 1964 to fight the federal election, the yorubas formed an Alliance called UPGA with the Ibos to be led by Okpara because major Yoruba leaders were in jail. There was an agreement that the election must be boycotted. The Igbos sabotaged it, went and contested election while the West kept to the agreement. In 1979 the West went into alliance with the lbos and formed PPA - PROGRESSIVE PEOPLE ALLIANCE. Again Igbo sabotaged it so that they can produce Speaker house of Representatives. Who then is traitor?
The second category are the Eastern minorities made up of present Rivers, Akwa lbom, Cross Rivers and Bayelsa. The igbos see them as subhuman with tidal brain. Until the creation of Rivers State by Gowon, no OGONI man can sleep on the hospital bed in Bori GENERAL HOSPITAL . As at 1977 only UYO ,PHC and CALABAR had electricity light. They were so underdeveloped by their Igbo overseers that you will think that you were in the Congo jungle. Until Diette Spiff, there was no Ikwere named Street in Port Harcourt. To show how deep the derision is, the present Biafran agitatators changed the name of RIBISI (Phc) to IGWOCHA as if the IKWERES do not exist.
The third category are the Hausa Fulani. The igbos pretend to hate the Fulanis but the truth is that the Igbo man is subservient to them. Ignore the noise. There are historical facts to justify this. Zik served under BALEWA, EKWUEME served under SHAGARI and EKEREMANDU zoned the PDP presidency to the North because he wants to be the VICE PRESIDENT to a Northerner. After the civil war and OJUKWU was granted amnesty for his rebellion against constituted authority, he returned to Nigeria and he joined the Hausa fulani party (NPN) of those he accused of genocide against his Igbo people. It is Igbo tragedy that they hate and deride those who grow and sustain them while they cringe to those(the hausas) who kick them like balls.
Igbos are the only race in nigeria that celebrate failure. In 1982, the igbos celebrated the defeat of biafra by welcoming ojukwu with fanfare on his return from asylum haven been granted amnesty by the igbo overlords- the hausa fulani. He revelled in the fanfare and promptly married FFK leftover Kpekus(Bianca)- Forgetting the over 3million lgbos that died in the war and with many of them languishing at OJI RIVER CAMP.
The second celebration is the release of kanu with the most humiliating bail conditions ever granted an accused in the annals of Nigerian justice system. A bail conditions targeted at the entire Igbo race and granted by an Hausa Fulani judge, i could not believe that with all the noise, such bail conditions will be signed. But he signed and in his eagerness to leave kuje he abandoned his two conspirators in kuje. The bail conditions wiped out the Identity of the ibos and EKEREMANDU was made the enforcer of the conditions. Now Kanu is back at kuje prisons eating watery beans and Ekweremadu is languishing away in UK detention.
Pandorra Obituary was encumbranced fair and square with Ewedu and Amala Politicking pricision engineered by no one but the Jagaban, yet yeebhoes are still crying marginalization with Nzogbu-nzobu headless mob.
FFK is a polemist like Femi ARIBISALA and Deji ADEYANJU etc. They have the capacity to argue both sides of the same point. The igbos regard them as their hero just like Ayo fayose the Eze gburugburu the second and a comedian -Mr. Macaroni. I hope very soon the igbo will not start blaming them as they blamed Awo for everything that went wrong with their prosecution of the biafran war. Now a certain Opportunist named Patrick Chinedu Rhodes-Vivor who's riding on the back of Tinubu tenant in Lagos- Peter OBI and supported by the Gala sellers association of Lagos is threatening to Remove Oba AKINOLU if he become the Governor, he forgot the Yoruba saying that says- A child that said when he grow-up, he'll make Rattle-snake' head his Favourite meat, y'all know the rest. Thank you for your insightful piece! kingzizzy: I have had the pleasure of reading Dele Babarinsas many write up's over the years. Just incase he has an account here on NL, I want to tell him the following.
Biafra has never been about war. Biafra has always been a peaceful and democratic agitation. It is Nigeria that has always brought violence and war into the issue of Biafra. In 1967, it was Nigeria that brought war to the peaceful East and right now, it is Nigeria shooting unarmed peaceful Biafran protesters. But when we retaliate to defend our selves, Nigerians will say we started war.
Biafra has never been an "Igbo only" thing. Igbos just happen to be the largest ethnic group in Biafra by far. It should be noted that all the minorities of reserve the right to be or not to be part of Biafra. However, they must be given a voice to speak for their individual selves without anyone abrogating 'Nigeria' 'Biafra' or 'SS' on them.
Finally, I want to say that Biafra is the legitimate right of a people to decide their destiny same as anybody. We are all 'Nigerians' not out of free choice but by the choice of a British armed robber called Frederick Lugard. When do we indigenous Africans get to decide who we are? A 'forced union' never works out well. We Biafran agitators want a UN superviced referendum in the south of Nigeria so everyone can decide for themselves what they want.
Cheers |

Totally agreed with you! SOSinNigeria: Nigerians are suffering terribly today, despite being richly blessed by nature. The reason is because few cabals have seized everything and stored for themselves, friends and family to the tenth generation.
However, to distract the suffering masses so they don't understand what they're doing, they preach Igbo hate as a national ideology. Unfortunately, Nigerians mostly have low IQ and can't think critically. Otherwise, the people should have asked themselves this question, why should I hate on Igbos?
The Igbos have no history of seizing lands from neighbors or wherever they settle no matter how large their number may be. Every single plot of land they are living on outside their indigenous territories were BOUGHT by them!
Igbos have never attacked any indigenes in their land. They're always business minded and has helped to develop any community where they're based. Any honest Nigerian can easily attest to this, be it Jos, Benue, Abuja, Lagos, Calabar, Kaduna etc. So, why hate on Igbos?
Igbos voted for Obasanjo (a Yoruba man) in 1999 and 2003. Igbos voted for Yaradua (a Fulani man) in 2003 and 2007. Igbos voted for Jonathan (an Ijaw man) in 2011 and 2015. Igbos raised alarm over Buhari and we're blunt in warning other Nigerians that this man is a bigot who has absolutely nothing to offer. Now this is where things became ridiculous. Buhari emerged president in 2015 and made Igbo hating the centerpiece of his administration. They promoted all manner of evil campaign against Igbos and how Igbos refused to vote for Buhari because he was a Fulani and a Muslim. They didn't remember that Yaradua was also a Fulani and a Muslim yet Igbos never for one day were against Yaradua. Why, because it was clear to everyone that Yaradua was a good man.
Because of Igbophobia promoted by the Buhari administration as a distraction, Nigerians couldn't question his gross maladministration. Any dissenting voice was immediately tagged Igbo or IPOB. So, to avoid being villified as hateful Igbo or IPOB, Nigerians kept mute while suffering. Today, almost everyone has agreed that Buhari was a disaster on Nigeria. Posterity has already proven that Igbos were right to reject Buhari. But, it's already too late. |
