What makes it a fact? Yes, he might not win. It only becomes a fact after February2023 Election when he loses. Until, then , Soludo's view is only a personal opionion or claim. To argue that a man's claim on a future event is a fact exposes the problem with almost all your postings on Nairaland.com which is: penchant to parrot half-truths and false narratives

PoliticsRe: The Superiority Of The Western Region In 1969 As Published By NY Times by Uchek(m): 3:16pm On Nov 13, 2022
First of all, what is your ethnic nationality?

Second, nothing goes arroud comes around. Yes, Zik was the beginning of Ndigbo problem because of his addiction to One Nigeria instead of addiction to Igbo independence. Similarly, Awolowo was also the problem of Yoruba because he fought for independent One Nigeria like Zik instead of Yoruba independence -- especially after the rejection of his suggestion of inclusion of secession clause in the constitution. But Ndigbo had an Ojukwu to correct the mistake of Zik by talking Ndigbo out of Nigeria.

Unfortunately, Yoruba didn't have n Ojukwu to correct the mistake of Awo and Zik at independence. Instead, Awolowo committed a worse mistake by going to war to force Nigerian to remain one under the domination of Hausa/Fulani oligarchy, Zik never went to war or kill Yorubas to keep Nigeria one. Awolowo dies a frustrated and disillusioned man. He was used by the North to fight Biafra for the phantom promise of becoming the next civilian president and dumped after achieving Biafra's defeat. When he attempted to claim his promise, they delivered a death blow to his ambition in 1979 and 1983 which he never recovered until his demise in 1987.

Drogunov:
What goes round comes round. Zik was the beginning of Igbo people's troubles.
PoliticsRe: Why Can't Today's African Reject The Outcome Of The Berlin Conference? by Uchek(m): 4:35am On Nov 12, 2022
What is your ethnic nationality? That will help me engage you better. You lied all through your response.

How could Zik stop Awolowo's idea of inclusion of secession clause into the constitution and made it treason to secede when Zik, Awo and Bello were under the rule of British colonialism and the British were in charge of the process of determining what was included and excluded in the constitution?

Can you disallow what is not with your control? Where did Zik get the political power and authority to declare secession a TREASON?

Bring back a region who tries to secede? Please can you show me Boro's map that shows the Eastern towns and cities that constituted his Niger Delta's Republic? Boro's so-called secession was at best a protest that should not be referred to as secession.

Perfectbeing:
First the Igbos, through Azikiwe stopped Awolowo peaceful way of secession, when he wanted included in the constitution, a secession clause. That way any region that wanted out of Nigeria could do so peacefully and constitutionally.. But Azikiwe, in his short sighted greed of ruling over all of Nigeria frustrated Awolowo and made it treason to secede.

2ndly, the Igbos, Ironsi and Ojukwu, were the first to bring back a region who tried the secede. Adaka Boro broke away the Niger Delta Republic from Nigeria and formed a country. Then Ironsi ordered Ojukwu to bring back the ND forcefully back to Nigeria.
Adaka was caught, stripped naked and sentenced to death for treason..

You Igbos made the bed. So you must lie on it.

PoliticsRe: . by Uchek(m): 6:35am On Nov 08, 2022
Zik didn't have to allow the Northerners to go in 1953 because it was not within his power to allow or disallow secession of any part of Nigeria. The colonial masters called the shots and the region decided whether to secede or not. A speech arguing against secession of any component speech is not allowing secession or not. It is a mere speech. There is no action behind it. The man who took action to disallow a component unit from seeding is Awolowo who joined the North to prevent Eastern Region from seeding which was a contradiction of his earlier position on secession.

SuperS1Panther:
This is the speech by Zik that the OP deleted because she does not want the world to see it again

Osus, Ojukwus and children of hate simply lack foresight. That is one of their major characteristics apart from Crime and Flat head.

If their Zik had the foresight, he would have allowed the northerners to go in 1953 and his kinsmen will not be dying for nothing on the daily basis for one imaginary and mirage of a country.

He even went ahead to form an alliance with them in 1960, prior to formation of Govt.

You should celebrate a courageous man who fought for the betterment of this nation. Isnt it funny, you people take interest in criticising men who stood their ground in the face of tyranny and oppression.

But celebrate, a coward like Ojukwu who ran away, disguise in women wears including pant and bras to cameroon by boat. After he had successfully sacrificed 2million of your people to senseless war.

LegendHero:
Nice one Baba Akintoye.

Aesthetically it’s wrong for you to even support any politician in the first place because it will go against your ideology of Yoruba nation.

Jagaban is contesting for Nigeria presidency and no secessionist must be seen within his ranks.

However even within Baba Akintoye household, if a polling booth is there, Jagaban will win that polling booth.

Nice game play by Baba.

Your hatred for Ndigbo and Ojukwu had blinded you to the fact and truths of the issue.

Tranquill:
Do your Biafra and leave the "so called South South" alone. The situation would have been worst if Biafra had succeeded under Ojukwu with the arrogance and greedy nature of the Igbos.

I was not born before the war but I followed him closely, listened to his utterances and watched his conducts
Ojukwu would have been one of the worst dictators on earth and would have killed countless number of people with different views and opinions. He was very arrogant and selfish.
I have met some people from Nnewi who are happy that Biafra failed because, even when he came back and before the Bianca issue, he busied himself sleeping about with married women and breaking homes.
Ojukwu was very close to Abacha which made Abacha release his family properties seized by the federal government to him. A selfless leader would have told Abacha that unless he releaesed the properties of other Igbos that were also seized and compensate the Biafran soldiers, he would not accept. Ojukwu did not mind but was even sidelining his own siblings. Faced with two evils, Ken Saro-Wiwa made the better choice. May his soul rest in Peace.

A trader in onitsha told me if he makes 400k a day, that means that day was a bad day.

Your analogy is atrocious and horrible. You are comparing India that has ten times more skilled manpower in India than those in Diaspora. You are comparing India whose institutions and bureaucracy works to produce the essential goods and services. You are comparing India that practices true federalism where the states control their economic destiny and unencumbered by an incompetent and incapable Centre dominated by quota-system and federal character appointees. You are comparing India whose Diaspora citizens are trooping back to India to develop the country. You are comparing India with Nigeria where her leaders don't engage in medical tourism like all your political leaders starting from your president. Stop comparing Nigeria with other countries. Nigeria is a FAILED STATE.

No country becomes great when your best of best are imprisoned outside as ECONOMIC MIGRANTS

Our lack of organisation is stunning.
We have excess supply of dormant engineers, lawyers and accountants in the labour market. Instead of sustaining the system producing theses dormant hands, why not adjust things from secondary school level? Make more spaces available to study medical sciences and medical related courses. This can solve a lot of problems. More local doctors, more foreign doctors remitting forex crude oil cannot keep up with, better utilization of available minds.
India don't see it as a brain drain as much we do because they have robust educational system constantly adjusting to global market demands. This is how they earn huge remittances from technology and medical science.
We are cursed with leadership in Africa.

What a tragedy of a nation?

JohnDazzy:
You’re concentrating on the symptoms rather than the disease itself. The healthcare system is collapsing, the other day a patient died right in front of me, there was no resuscitation devices no ambu bag, suction machine to help increase patency of airway wasn’t functional, cpr was a waste of time. In a federal hospital sir. and these are things you will find in common ambulances in developed countries. The challenge is not just the poor pay of medical personnel but necessarily amenities to aid in good delivery of job isn’t there. Go to hospital wards, you’d see a lot of improvisations, using substandard alternatives just because the required equipment and items that should be provided by the government were not given to them. Even if the health workers want to be generous,is it their little salaries they’d use to buy equipment that the government should have provided?

So when
1. The work environment is bad enough to limit the quality of service you can provide
2. Salary is low compared to the workload and sometimes the salary is even not paid
3. Your mates outside Nigeria are flexing life
Who will not want to japa?

If the system was working well and everything was in order, nobody would want to work as a second class individual in another man’s country.

EventsRe: Remembering FESTAC 77, Nigeria's Biggest Party by Uchek(m): 9:45am On Oct 17, 2022
You have growth and not development. Every sector of Nigeria, though not as huge as it is today, performed better qualitatively and had better outcome.

Reflect7:
There has been notable development since then, in many respects.

Not a single expressway existed in Nigeria in 1977. Lagos-Ibadan was our first, commissioned in 1978.

Today, such roads are the norm across Nigeria.

Many cities we have today like Calabar, Uyo, Awka, Abakiliki, Ikot-Ekpene, Minna, Jalingo, etc were villages or glorified villages in 1977. Today they are modern cities with expressways, flyovers, universities, international conference centres, and shopping malls.

Even Lagos which hosted the event for the most part, is vastly improved today in terms of infrastructure and so on.

Don't take these developments for granted.

Rome was not built in a day.

PoliticsRe: How Britain’s Labour Government Facilitated The Massacre Of Biafrans In Nigeria by Uchek(m): 8:17pm On Oct 07, 2022
Totally agree with you! The generation that survived the war were occupied with surviving the post-war economic difficulties.

DOTian:
The fact that the generation of Biafrans who took over from the ones that fought tht war, Never made a lot of noise about this like the Rwandans did with the Hutu genocide or the Armenians with the genocide pepertuated against Armenians by the Turks, is the main reason Britain is still active in Nigeria today, trying to network with the beastial fulani for another round of genocide in the East..

Folks don't know but the fact is that The Biafran genocide was the first real modern black on black genocide that was recorded in modern history! Before then, the world only had the skirmishes in the Congo that led to the death of Lumumba and the coming of Mobutu to talk about. No major wars between modern African countries. Africans were so into each other that the idea of a one country from cape to Cairo was even being muted. Gowon and his bunch of vandals put an end to that.

It was also the first time the rest of the world started seeing skinny African kids about to be eaten alive by vultures on their TVs. It was nonplussing both for foreigners around the world, and for Africans living in Africa. It was a defining moment too. Because immediately after the Biafran genocide, we started seeing all sorts of brutal , ethnic cleansing wars across Africa from Uganda, Angola, Congo again, Zimbabwe, Kenya etc. Basic copying of the Nigerian template..Strikingly, most of these wars, if not all were wars fought between different ethnic groups WITHIN the same African States and NOT between different African countries.

So it's safe to say that the likes of Gowon, Murtala, Buhari, Babangida and Obasanjo are the forerunners of the genocides and ethnic cleansings in Liberia, Sierra Leone, Angola, Sudan etc..
