Go read Soyinka's civil war memoir, "The Man Died" and you will understand why Banjo does not deserve any honor from Ndigbo

Spandau:
It simply shows that anybody who is not Igbo frolicks with you guys at his own peril.
PoliticsRe: Those who fought against ojukwu restructuring celebrating, pictures by Uchek(m): 6:13am On Mar 18, 2021
Why should Ndigbo honor the memory of Banjo?

Spandau:
Your hatred for Yorubas has been your people's undoing, starting from Zik. I bet you do not even know the meaning of your generational accusations against the Yoruba. You call them betrayers and back stabbers. When did any Yoruba man sit at the table with your political founding fathers to agree on anything? Did your founding fathers not prefer to frolick with Fulanis? You call them back stabbers; the Yoruba guys who ever agreed to run things together with your fathers( Banjo et al) ended up paying with their lives and up till today, their memory have never been honored either by your people or even Nigeria. The frolicked with Igbos in vain! You now sit down there and type rubbish as if Awolowo had any pact with Ojukwu concerning Biafra. Mtchewwwww! People that don't know what they want.

PoliticsRe: Southern Nigeria Declared 'the World Capital Of Stupidity' by Uchek(m): 3:17am On Mar 17, 2021
There is nothing like Southern Nigerian.

BrandBrainBox:
I am a Southern Nigerian. But, most times, I'm ashamed to admit it. That's because I've noticed that Southern Nigeria might be the World Capital of Stupidity. Sorry my people but, please, hear me out first before the crucifixion.

The worst part of it is that most of us Southern Nigerians seem to think that we are wiser compared to the Northerners. Of course, a hallmark of fools is that they judge themselves by themselves - and their judgment always favors them against others.

That's my Southern Nigeria for you - an enclave of highly educated fools. Once again, I'm sorry for this verbal brutality but I hope that - like bitter pills - it may help to heal our crass levels of foolishness here.

HERE IS A CASE IN POINT

Today, I read two first page posts that were adjacent to each other. One of the posts reports about 'a reign of terror' going on in the South-Eastern city of Onitsha while the other is talking about how some herder terrorists are still sacking Ogun residents and forcing them to flee to Benin Republic

www.nairaland.com/attachments/13256935_screenshot20210313154422_jpeg9749252ca286e93b482b069a6080330e

I believe that the Nairaland Admin purposely and wisely placed those two reports side by side to make Southerners think. But, instead, the Southerners (mainly Igbos and Yorubas) turned the reports into an opportunity for their usual online inter-tribal wars - trying to show which is better between Amotekun and ESN in very very bitter terms!

How much more stupid can we get as a people! Everywhere on Earth, it happens that a common enemy unites people. But not in Southern Nigeria - one reason why this may be the World Headquarters of STUPIDITY as I said earlier. How could we afford to be fighting each other at the same time that we are getting plundered by a common enemy!?!

It's such a big shame to any Nigerian that Nigerians now have to flee to little Benin Republic in order to save their lives. But, it is a greater shame to Southern Nigerians (and to Yorubas in particular) that the people forcing us to flee our homes are from the far-away North - because of our extremely unwary attitudes like those of our ancestors for centuries now. It's also a shame that Igbos often complain about oppression from foreign terrorists but would so easily become terrorists unto themselves (as in the 'Onitsha reign of terror'). Is that how Igbos will run the Biafra they're looking for? As one of the shameless mockers noted about the Onitsha report:

We have become so stupid that our common enemy now has all the strings for controlling us. He knows the one to pull and get us to fight with each other. He knows the one to pull and we are begging him to rule us. Oh, it's so painful and shameful, chai!

WHAT SHALL WE DO THEN?

So, if any humanity or maturity is left in us, these things should make us too ashamed to easily be pointing accusing fingers at other people. Again, that's the height of stupidity.

Instead, both online and offline, we should be discussing and working and spending all our energy on getting ourselves out of this mess that our years of stupidity has gotten us into. Let's flee foolishness. Instead, let's learn the kind of wisdom that liberates people from personal/national slavery and shame.

Feel free to bash the hell out of me anywhere you think I got it wrong (because I'm also one of the Southern fools).

Rockefeller, rotschilds , Ford's....all these families made generational wealth due to favouritism of america government. The same America that house apple ,facebook and google (the big 3) these companies KILL competition with the connivance of the American government....have you ever wondered why the big 3 are always having problems in europe and Asia ? It's because europeans and asians see them as threats to their own tech companies and have to restrict their use and in some case like france tax them heavily ,while american government is only concerned about privacy issues with the tech companies .
The same person you are accusing here doesn't control the petroleum industry where the big money is I would be bothered if he owned She'll or Chevron.... even as commodities merchant , he don't control noodles , pasta, milk, and is not even visible in the poultry industry with minimal show in agriculture. There's no business he does that others are not doing but like everywhere there must be leaders and him being an industry leader in cement is just as it should be , if not Dangote it could be someone else......or is the opposition just because he happens to be a northerner . They killed our Premier first, killed Ahmadu Bello in the North but left all their own leaders and politicians intact.
They were slaughtered across the North in a counter coup which saw them move en masse back to the East where they declared biafura republic.

Instead of facing those who killed them in the North, they started bombing Lagos, killed all the minorities in Niger Delta and Mid West region, then made their way down South into Ore killing and bombing Yoruba people.. yet they claim Yorubas are betrayers.

Who even invited these folks into SW in the first place that they are flocking anyhow into our lands unchecked. Yoruba ronu o!

Good morning Yoruba. Ojukwu warned you in 1967.

ScamHunter:
My condolences. The fact remains that these governors are severely hampered by the north inspired Constitution. To stop the genocide, the country must see it for what it is - ethnic cleansing. Large swats of territories from the middlebelt to SW are being overrun by Fulani and no one is doing something concrete about it. This is the time to call for the amendment of the Constitution and restructuring. But I think for those Yoruba communities, it's already getting late since the Fulani never budge wherever they gain ground. I pray that our Yoruba people don't go the way of Birom, Tiv and others whose land are now largely in contest with the desert herders.

Igbo people did not vote for Buhari.

Since 1983 Igbo people rejected Buhari because we know he is a calamity and a disaster.

You hit the nail on the head!

gidgiddy:
It was unfortunate for the minorities of the old Eastern Region. The government of Gowon deceived them. Gowon told them that the Igbo man was their problem and created states. Little did they know that those states was going to be the the conduit pipe with which Gowon and his fellow Northerners would use to syphon all their resources and subjugate them.

Now they are shouting restructuring and the North says no. But when Ojukwu was fighting to see that nobody was under Northern domination, they could not see it.

Had they closed ranks with Ojukwu and fought, maybe Biafra would have stood, and if anything, they would only have Igbos to contend with in Biafra

But they foolishly sabotaged Biafra, now they are in a Nigeria where they have Hausa/Fulani, Yorubas and Igbos to contend with, making their situation much worse.

Who, other than a divisive bigot, can compare events between warring factions during a Civil War to a peace time situation where there is no official and government-sanctioned declaration of war?

I notice the hypocritical Omokri wants to codedly berate the Yorubas without even commenting on the absurdity and illegality of what the North is doing.

I am personally loving this. Just hope naive, 'liberal' and irritating Yorubas can now see, in 3D, what some of us have always argued which is that Yorubas should begin to be more insular and protectionist rather than continue naively and unrewardingly playing "accomodators" to the many ingrates around us.

I can only imagine where Yorubas would be now if we are as clannish, intolerant and protectionist in our land as Igbos and Northerners are in their region.

Interesting!

I am blessed financially than any members of your family and i m proudly saying that online(Evidence to back it up online if there is need for that).

I am a Yoruba Nationalist as long as Igbo issue is concerned.

And finally, I ll like you to bookmark this page and come back to eat your words when you and your likes finally settle down in the East.

Just before i go, taking you back memory lane, Ojukwu(Your Hero who killed millions of his people through his senseless, irrational, unreasonable, brainless and unwell-thought-through decision but took to his heels when d same death came calling) was bragging like your likes(just like Germans before second world war, thinking that d failure/history of first world war would never repeat itself) in that video on youtube about "HOW NIGERIANS WOULD BE SHOCKED AS TO WHAT BIAFRA WOULD DO TO THEM while Awolowo and Gowon were looking at him as MUMU". Yorubas, Opc, Arewa Youth etc are 21st centurily looking again, Repetition of the same fate is gradually evolving towards reality but trust me, everything in women skirts/wrappers and make-up would be thoroughly searched and checked at our airports and borders so as to prevent the likes of Ojukwu from running through our backyard...............Op u gat that!

However, Yorubas cherish d lives of their brothers, children, grannies and sisters so much and that is why violence is the least thing on our table to get rid of you guys from south west. We are naturally blessed with faculty of winning a war without using a gun.

Violence is like a roasted plaintain with groundnuts to the yorubas when there is a need for us to fight. Pls muckin, ask your brothers about why yorubas are tagged WWWest in 80s.

PoliticsRe: South-east, South-west, will be biggest losers if Nigeria breaks up by Uchek(m): 1:27am On Feb 17, 2021
Insightful analysis!

BastardWike:
Trash!

The dude wrote a million and one reasons why Nigeria's break-up will lead to our collective doom and ended up by saying we must make Nigeria to work cry cry

I was expecting he would have proferred solutions on how to make Nigeria work as he suggested but he never did.

What this writer did is just tantamount to calling a dog a bad name so it could be sent to the hangman. Is South Sudan the only country that got broken up? Don't we have success stories where turbulent countries got broken up and became a lot better? What about USSR? India/Pakistan/Bangladesh? Indonesia/East Timor? Yugoslavia? Bosnia?

Now, let me give reasons on why a broken up Nigeria will be better:

1. Billions of dollars being wasted in a phantom war against insurgents/herdsmen/Boko Haram would be channeled to other productive ventures like education, roads, rails and other infrastructures that will help to boost economic growth.

2. North can still bring its agricultural produce down South, Igbos can still trade in the North and North can still have access to the ports of the South etc. based on existing ECOWAS treaty, it even gets better with the emergence Aftcta!

3. Ethno-religious killings and destructions will reduce to the barest minimum, considering that herdsmen won't be roaming about and destroying people's farms. Sharia will now be fully practiced in the North without anybody in the South complaining and everyone will be mindful of local laws governing each country.

4. Corruption will reduce significantly, because it won't be an open bazaar anymore like it's currently in Nigeria where everyone considers the fleecing of the country as an ethnic duty.

5. It will enthrone good governance and prudence. All these proliferation of unviable states and local governments that only encourage rent seeking economy will be done away with. Puppets being foistered on the people without them having a say on the electoral process will also become significantly reduced.

6. Each emerging nation will build on their strength, eg. Biafra will encourage and put in place policies that will boost trade, SME's and technology. Oduduwa will leverage Lagos to enhance its industrial output. North will focus on agriculture and solid minerals as well as cheap labour to grow its economy while Niger Delta (depending on how they're broken up) can make better use of its oil resources.

Refusing to assent to the inclusion of the secession clause is not a historical reality you can wish away. He simply thought his people would continue to be relevant in the scheme of things. He was a man that lacked foresight.
