Your elders did not field any two Yorubas. The North fielded there own lapdog ,Obasanjo, and rigged him into office over your own candidate, Falae. It is a testimony of how low Yoruba has fallen in Nigeria that you are claiming the flor for Obasanjo's emergence as civilian president. Fulanis don't give a Bleep about Yoruba. Why should they shoot Yoruba protestors when they know that it is all noisemaking and sabre-rattling.? Fulani know that when push comes to shove, the average Yoruba will disappear. Fulani has dominated, oppressed, humiliated, imprisoned and killed Yoruba leading lights without any push back from Yoruba nation. Jaluumi: I guess you’re a baby because Yorubas already went through that phase with Abacha and Babangida. We can even go back to the 60s with Agbekoya and Operation Wettie.
Fulanis just know Yoruba madness is different from Ibo madness. And shooting peaceful Yoruba protesters would be the end of Booohari. When Yorubas get mad, no be here o. Ibos on the other hand are like cows that can be killed with no repercussions apart from wailing. |

ABSOLUTE TRUTH. Onlytruth: The response coming from some of Yoruba elite on this issue is quite frankly ludicrous. Achebe's memoir and the exact words he chose to describe Awo are very specific and succinct. Achebe never speaks half truths, or encase words in riddles. He always speaks plainly and to the point. He did that on two occassions when he turned down national honors. He has an antecedent of being a FIERCE LOVER OF TRUTH. No amount of fake indignation from any quarters would change Achebe or tarnish his reputation. The international community know him already.
The situation some of these defenders of Awo find themselves is analogous to an animal caught in a snare made of amazing ropes and twines. Once entangled, the more the "victim" tries to disentangle, the tighter the noose on the victim.
Okay, let me ask Mr Fani Kayode one question: WHAT ABOUT THE 20 POUND POLICY? How did he forget that one?
What even baffles me is that Achebe never attacked Yoruba people; HE "ATTACKED" AWOLOWO, and unless Awolowo has become Oduduwa himself, it should be an insult to the Yoruba tribe for anyone to pretend that Awo even rises to touch the shoes of such noble Yoruba sons, as Prof Wole Soyinka, Fela Anikulapo Kutui (and his entire Ransome Kuti family), and even my spiritual mentor Dr D. K Olukoya.
So, I get personally indignant on behalf of Yoruba folks, when people raise Awo above the entire tribe.
Methinks that the more those Awo defenders try to scrub Awo's tarnished legacy, the tighter the noose on their throats!
I have one advice for them : SURRENDER TO THE SNARE OF TRUTH ELSE IT WILL LYNCH YOU!

1. A ministry to determine how many Northerners they can kidnap in a week.

4. Taxable income of every registered kidnapper.

You are either unemployed or under employed! jerseyboy: Niger Delta "Igbo" Cant Give Biafra Direct Sea Access Because Of These Tribes
There is an Igbo obsession with the Atlantic Ocean almost to the point of neuroses. This has led to the forceful conscription of all peoples with moonlight fable links of their Igboid ancestry into Biafra, such as the still puzzled Esan people of Ubiaja in Edo State who suddendly woke up one day to discover they are Igbo.
The problem is even if for agreement sake all these Igbo claimed peoples were to agree (Impossibility) to be Biafra, Biafra still wont be an Atlantic Nation as none of these tribes seat on the Atlantic Ocean.
Take the case of Rivers State. In the unlikely event that the the less than 500,000 Ikweres allow themselves to be dragged into Biafra, the direct sea access will still be blocked by the below tribes that include Ogonis, Ijaws, Kalabaris who are all sitting right on the ocean and will never give up their land.
My advise to those seeking Biafra is to focus on the 5 state of South East to be taking serious.
There will be a Yoruba Nation. Their will be 1 or 2 Niger Delta Nations. There will be an Igbo Nation, it just wont be this Biafran hallucinations.
Igbos are becoming very scary people to Southern minorities as it is becoming certain that Nigeria will dissolve.

"I learnt many middlebeltans fought against Biafra because they were afraid of being trapped in a country with their Muslim brothers without Igbo overwhelming population to balance things out."I read it too and that confession came from General Domkat Bali. Igboid: My own take on this:
1. The Yoruba elites preaching one Nigeria and using scaremongering tactics to dissuade the Yoruba commoners from pursuing Oduduwa republic are not different from Igbo elites and indeed elites from other parts of Nigeria doing same. They are not looking out for the interest of the commoners, they are only interested in the preservation of Nigeria, their cash cow.
2. Nigeria as currently constituted only serves the interest of the elites from all parts of Nigeria and they would all say and do everything to preserve Nigeria so that they and their family, cronies and well wishers can continue schooling in North America and USA , jet all over the world for medical tourism, hustle for dual citizenship of first world countries for their families, while they preach one Nigeria to the commoners.
3. Ndiigbo( commoners) will not constitute itself a hindrance to any group seeking secession from Nigeria. If Igbo elites want to do so, then they would have to constitute such army by enrolling themselves and their wards into such senseless army.
4. Yorubas and indeed other groups can't hide behind Nigeria forever to avoid taking care of their local problems outside Nigeria. Many people in Nigeria simply want one Nigeria to continue because they are scared their own group would not be able to make progress outside Nigeria as an entity, so they constitute themselves a hinderance to those who though know they would face challenges outside Nigeria but have enough belief in themselves and their ability to solve such problems and emerge a better nation than Nigeria can ever dream off. This is a typical crab in a barrel syndrome. Like the typical case of misery loving company. I learnt many middlebeltans fought against Biafra because they were afraid of being trapped in a country with their Muslim brothers without Igbo overwhelming population to balance things out. That's a pathetic way to live your life. Playing the ostrich rather than tackling your problem head on. Obviously, dragging Igbos into Nigeria has not stopped Middlebelt from having to face their Muslim brothers. They only succeeded in having Ndiigbo as a company in their own misery. |

At your age, education, exposure you still suffer from debilitating ahistorism. Imagine the state of younger Yorubas who don't have the level of education and exposure. "Propaganda can only last for a while, you can’t win a war based on propaganda because reality is different from fantasies" Q#1Why did Yoruba fight the Nigeria-Biafra War? Q#2Why did Awolowo and Yorubas align with the North to fight against Biafra? Q#3Did Yoruba and Hausa/Fulani fight in the Nigeria-Biafra War for the same political reasons. If "YES", what was the political reason behind their alliance to fight Biafra's independence? Q#4BETWEEN THE HAUSA/FULANI AND YORUBA, WHO is the real winner or real loser of the Nigeria-Biafra War? Q#5Between the Yoruba and Ndigbo, who is the real winner/real loser in the Nigeria-Biafra War? Q#6After over 5 decades of aligning with Arewa North to "defeat" Biafra, in the Nigeria-Biafra War, are Yoruba of Nigeria better off - economically, politically, educationally, psychological, scientifically, emotionally, individually and collectively - in Gowon's post-Biafra Nigeria than they would have been in Aburi Accord- restructured Nigeria? Iegendhero: Ojukwu really bleeped up by using his people as a shield for a war he isn’t that prepared for.
Propaganda can only last for a while, you can’t win a war based on propaganda because reality is different from fantasies.
There are cases where the Biafran army massacred some south-south minorities during the war too so I think this is a case of the devil with the strongest kill power.
This should be a lesson to this generation, before you commit to a full blown war, be prepared with the necessary alliance so you won’t sent your people in their millions to Hades due to hasty decisions. |
