Every region does not have equal representation in the senate and house.

Otsam:
I am not saying it’s a privilege or a matter of help but crying wickedness and marginalization is off point if those things are put in consideration. Also, since the revenue used for development of other regions is from south south, that’s why I said you should hold your representatives that are supposed to bring yours accountable. Every region has equal number of reps in the legislature so, they should be held responsible for failing the region.
PoliticsRe: The Foolish South by Uchek(m): 11:52pm On Mar 16, 2020
Trash! Blame the Yoruba s not Ndigbo. Yorubas crowned the North king of Nigeria when they joined them to fight Biafra.

sigiyaya:
The North is the problem of Nigerian but i don't blame the the North for the problem of Nigeria. I blame the south especially the Igbo's and the Yoruba's the most foolish ethnic groups in Nigeria. The Igbo's and Yoruba's are not the only ethnic groups in the southern Nigeria but they are they
are by far the biggest in population, and if they should sit up other smaller ethnic groups will have no choice other than to sit up too.

It is a fact that before 1960 the south where ready for independent from the British but Zik said no to Awolowo and demanded that the south should wait for the North to get ready (imagine the today southern Nigeria as a country since 1960), no matter how badly managed it wouldn't have been as bad as the present day Nigeria. During the years the regions where allowed to govern themselves for some period of years we know the regions that did well in times of sustainable development, (If not for the civil war the eastern Nigeria would have developed more than there present day condition; (Yet not worst than the North).

The south are so foolish (courtesy Igbo's and Yoruba's) that they allow the North to rule and manage Nigeria knowing very well the North are Naturally backward and meanly illiterate populated society. How do you expect people who couldn't manage and grow their own region to manage and grow Nigeria at large.

Since 1960 the North has successfully been using one part of the south against another in order to achieve their aim which is to acquire political power ( use the Igbo's against the Yoruba's and again use the Yoruba's against the Igbo's) the divide and rule used by the British conquer eastern part of the present day Nigeria. The North has used the Yoruba's in 2015 and the same North will use the Igbo's in 2023 to retain the presidency and nothing will happen, because both the Igbo's and the Yoruba's are foolish. How can the most two advanced and educated ethnic group allow the most backward and illiterate ethnic group to govern and manage them and expect positive development huh huh Can one give what he doesn't havehuh.

I read on Nairaland that one Yerima Shettima President-General of Arewa Youth Consultative Forum saying that the North will lobby the Southeast for 2023 presidency and one of his argument is that the Igbo's are are not yet organised and ready to take over the office of the president of Nigeria. In the comment section of that report i was amazed by the comment from the southerns; Igbo's and Yoruba's; while the Igbo's appears to be happy that the North has betrayed and abandoned the Yoruba's on the other hand the Yoruba's appeared to be happy that the Igbo's will never get to the presidency in the possible future ( you can see why i call them the two foolish ethnic group of the south).

Some of the statement of Yerima Shettima are "You can’t have a son, on the one hand, calling for the separation of the country and on the other hand, you are asking to be trusted. Shettima went further by stating that the issue of power is that of trust, once there is no trust nobody will give you power" (obliviously referring to Nnadi kanu and IPOB) now to the question.

Nnadi Kanu and IPOB, Boko Haram and Fulani terrorist who poses more threat to the division or separation of Nigeria. Despite well know and organised and well established terrorist groups from the North the south has continued to give them support, they needed to take over the presidency position of Nigeria.

In 2015 he Yoruba's supported the APC(North) because majority of the southwest believed that the Goodluck government gave more powers to the Igbos (though i believe that GEJ government was a huge failure) despite Boko Haram publicly naming Buhari as one of their spokes person some time ago before the 2015 general election that saw the same Buhari becoming the president of Nigeria ( a stack illiterate with a professor as its vice)

Mark my word in 2023 the North will retain the presidency using the Igbos just like they used the Yoruba's because now the Igbos would want to pay back the Yoruba's for voting out GEJ in 2015 and also voting against peter obi's vice presidential candidacy in 2019 and at the end the North will retain power and nothing will happen, other than the two Foolish ethnic group of the south to continue attacking, fighting and abusing each other on and out of social media while the illiterate North holds tight on to power.

Thank you my brother. I'm Biafra - Africa Died!

saaron:
If Biafra were independent nation from 1966 to date, the country will be dragging economic might with Asian tigers like China, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia etc, not South Africa. Biafra would have launch Africa positively on the world map as a black economy powerhouse. A people that could organized themselves to manufacture Amoured tanks and spectacular weapons from scratch to hold Nigeria for 3 good years to the amazement of America and Europe shows the ability and ingenuity of Biafrans. Biafra would have join the like of America and Russia as major arms suppliers in the world!
Now imagine them channeling that same energy and spirit to develop their country economically? The black race would have gain more respect today. But because of the virus of One Nigeria, that reality was dashed - (but not forever, Biafra will raise again).
Nigeria is nothing but a glorified village. A country cursed with mediocrity, terrorism, quota system, and the ''Put them down Syndrome.''
Nigeria can't even boast of a world class city. Countries like Ivory Coast have better and well developed cities than Nigeria.
The fact that the God forsaken country is even struggling economically with South Africa is a big shame because Nigeria's economy was on the same level with South Korea in 1960. Today South Korea is not only competing with China, the country has world class companies competing with the likes of Apple and General Mottors of America! And we here celebrating mediocrity. What's the benefit of being Africa's largest economy when we can't even manufacture pencils? Does Nigeria have a functional steel company? How can Nigeria become an industrial manufacturing hub when common Abeokuta steel complex is in shambles? Nigeria is nothing but a failed state!
South Africa's economy, as it is even in recession is still by far more robust and developed in manufacturing, service industry, commerce, power, infrastructure than Nigeria. Remove crude oil from the country's economy and Nigeria will disappear from the world map!
Total division of Nigeria is the only way out of this perennial economic calamity that is Nigeria.
ONE NIGERIA IS DEAD!

In fact, looking at the above statement, one might as well say that without Nigeria, there is nothing like Africa.

Yet some idiots want to split up this country into little, inconsequential Liberias. When you sneeze nobody will notice.

The coupist and Ojukwu knew that Ironsi was dead long time ago and were lying about it just to buy time. That was why Ojukwu used the hidden truth against Gowon by questioning why Gowon should hijack power and become supreme commander of the whereabout of Ironsi is unknown.

Aguiyi Ironsi's chief transport officer was President Buhari and his ADC was Theophilus Danjuma and Ogundipe had warned Aguiyi Ironsi of the grave danger but the stuborn dude still never listened,.. when Aguiyi was murdered his death wasn't announced but was only declare missing, and during coups until it was ascertained that the number one was dead or captured with proof of his body nobody dare announce himself the head of state... Ogundipe's attempt to mobilise troops from ikoyi close to the state house marina met stiff resistance as nobody listened to his orders.. since he had no troops to command he left Nigerian shores on a naval ship heading to UK, where he later settled and subsequently became an ambarsabor
PoliticsRe: When Ogundipe Was Meant To Be President, Only Ojukwu Supported Him by Uchek(m): 3:30pm On Mar 01, 2020
You hit the nail on the head. The average Yoruba of Nigeria is a historical - gleefully and drunkenly ahistorical.

gidgiddy:
Thats the one thing I never understood about Yorubas. When Igbos supposedly do something wrong, they scream and shout about it so much.

But when Northerners do something that is 50 times worse, Yorubas downplay it as if it is not so bad.

The examples in Nigerian history are abound:

Yorubas refer to the first coup as an 'Igbo coup', but they never say that all other coups that happened in Nigeria were 'Northern coups', not even the one that kicked out Shonekan

Yorubas like to trumpet about Ironsi's decree 34. They even say that decree 34 ended federalism. But in essence, all dcree 34 did was unify the civil service. It did not deIineate the borders of the 4 Regions and neither did it take away from the 4 Regions the essential ingredients of true federalism such as resource control, fiscal responsibility or the revenue sharing formular agreed at independence. But the same Yorubas will never talk about Gowon's decree 14 that abolished all 4 Regions, replaced them with 12 states, 6 of which went to the North that was one Region, removed resource control, ended fiscal federalism and changed the revenue sharing formular to favour the North.

The average Yoruba man will never say that Ojukwu and Gowon met in Aburi Ghana and signed an agreement that would bring peace and that Gowon broke that agreement with decree 14, but he will blame Ojukwu for causing the war even though it was Gowons fault.

Even with this thread that Ojukwu stuck by military tradition that the next highest ranking officer should always take charge in the absence of the most senior officer, they cant admit that Ojukwu stood for their own brother, Brigadier Ogundipe, when they could not.

Even the Vernom the average Yoruba feels towards IPOB who were unarmed and never killed them, they dont feel it for armed herdsmen who murder them every day

They just cant admit that when Ojukwu stood up against Northern domination, even against their own son, Brigadier Ogundipe, when they just couldn't do the same.

PoliticsRe: Southeast Can't Survive Restructuring Plan... let us be sincere by Uchek(m): 7:35am On Mar 01, 2020
You are a dullard!

johnmartus:
Southeast have been champion the campaign for restructuring Nigeria to Regional system of government. But I keep asking myself if southeast would survive the regional system of government in this present generation.
My reason for saying this could trace back to 1950 to 1960 where the same pattern was operated then. During regional system of government in the southeast ,we have enough evidence that the system wasn't work for them.

When Nnamdi Azikiwe knew that the system wasn't work for them he came to southwest but instead of Azikiwe to learn how Awolowo operating the system that working for his region. Azikiwe sermons Awolowo political enemies to frustrate Awolowo leadership.

Another reason why igbo should stop talking about restructuring . Southeast have no resources to finance regional government.

Also the southeast contributions to federal government is very low compare to what south-south and southwest contributing.

Again many igbo will still not willing to return back to their home state.

Another reason during the regional system of government southeast didn't achieve anything but other regions are flourishing. That is why Aguiyi ironsi introduced unitary system of government. Every government pursues economic development by trying to achieve macroeconomic objectives in a particular system of government.

PoliticsRe: Yakubu Gowon Was The True Hero Of The Civil War by Uchek(m): 3:24am On Feb 17, 2020
Why didn't Americans massacre Southern Americans when they prevailed?

wirinet:
I know emotions would not allow you to reason property, but the OP is right. The outcome of the war could have been worse if Gowon did not intervene. Remember ordinary igbo civilians residing in the nirth were already being massacred by the northerners, imagine what northern soldiers would have done to helpless igbo civilians if Gowon was unable to rein them in.
You guys think too much of UK, UN, US and the international community. They are only after their interests. Genocide is going on right now in many parts of the world, ie Rohingya, Tibet, Uyghur, Palestine, etc., and the international community has looked on. If not for the Kurds, the Yazidis would have been wiped of the face of the earth by ISIS.

Gowon never wanted war, he only wanted power and to avenge the January 1966 murders. He saw the civil war as a fight between brothers and not a fight to the finish. If he had allowed a genocide against the igbos, it would have weighed heavily on the conscience of Nigeria and rendered the victory meaningless.

Remember in history, many other tribes had been exterminated after losing a war. Most south American tribes were extinguished by the Spanish.
PoliticsRe: Yakubu Gowon Was The True Hero Of The Civil War by Uchek(m): 3:21am On Feb 17, 2020
You have no unemployed or under employed. Off all the issues beleaguering Nigeria, this is want captures your fancy.

Even Gowon's kinsman are lamenting and weeping.

Rossippi:
Bros, you cannot invent history or rewrite it.

In 1967 there was no satellite technology to monitor who was killing whom. It was a case of if the govt allowed media to enter a region, then they could report on what they saw. If they refused to let you in, you saw and knew nothing. They would have eliminated Igbos and nothing would have happened, you hear?

The British would have loved nothing more than for the Nigerian army to go in there and decimate the 'troublesome' Igbos after their surrender.

The British media would have just said that federal troops went in and mopped up a few remnants of the rebellion. Case closed. Who argues with the British media?

What makes you think the coloniser, who created Nigeria, and who himself has a history of genocide in Africa and elsewhere, would care a hoot if Igbos were eliminated as a group? The same Igbos challenging their Nigerian contraption?

You folks keep having this idea that the white man is some sort of angel who cares about your black behind.

Biafra was a threat to THEIR Nigeria project, and the British gave Nigeria FOR FREE, weapons, warships, and fighter jets to eliminate that threat, but yet you somehow think they cared about you and your survival?

And that they would have opposed Gowon for killing too many of you?

Was it also the British that asked Gowon to declare No Victor No Vanquished and give you money, and help rebuild your cities?

You had ''thousands of armed Biafran Soldiers in the bushes'', so why did you surrender? Why did your leader flee? He clearly had no confidence in the ability of those ''fighters'' or he'd remain there and lead them to victory.

Your naivety is so comical.

It is the same naivety displayed by Ojukwu in fighting a war in the first place, armed with sticks and stones.

The same naivety displayed by IPOB and Kanu today, who approach British parliamentarians and US congressmen to help them actualize Biafra. The very same people who supported Nigeria to keep the nation intact! wink

I mean, the depth of your geopolitical naivety is just....astonishing.
