Thz trial is completely uncalled for.the constitution gvs them that right to freely express themselves with decorum.arresting them in the first instance is unlawful unless they didnt follow laid down rules to stage a protest in imo state.thz action wil only further complicate issues here in the southeast with the biafran sympathizers and set a bad precedent where the inalienable rights of citizens to freely express themselves is trampled upon.its nt just a question of them been biafran agitators, its a question of how the rights of citizens are abused irrespective of ethnic and political divide.i jst hope theres more to thz story

PoliticsRe: R-APC National Assembly Members Plot Mass Defection July 31 by Ugik(m): 12:32pm On Jul 08, 2018
2019 and this purpoted mass defection clearly shows that our so called leaders are nt looking at the bigger picture.the reason they are leaving APC only has to do with their return ticket been in contention.none of them is leaving due to the low performance rate of this administration in most major sectors, they are nt leaving because the APC ideology doesnt tally with the dividends of democracy they promised the electorates.it still boils down to the fact that we,the electorates still take the crumbs or whatever is left on the table of good governance and qualitative representation.voting buhari out wil nt even solve the problem as a new decorated 'god sent' wil spring up among these scavengers who are trying to pitch their tent where it favours them.in otherwords,to hell with the electorates!!.our feelings and yearnings dnt count.what every nigerian should be botherd about is nt the collapse of APC or the 'belgium vs japan' comeback of PDP but actually try to answer thz question, after buhari, whos next??
PoliticsRe: Insecurity: Legalize Guns To Enable Citizens Defend Themselves - Senator Marafa by Ugik(m): 12:13pm On Jul 08, 2018
Mr senator,i beg to differ.having a liberal gun policy is the worst initiative that can be implemented.considering the ethnic and religious colouration attached to these killings, nigeria may toe the path of detroit, usa and it will be a free for all.we dnt ve the right policies and machinaries in place to detect who is sane or insane and qualified to own a gun.we dnt ve medical and past criminal records of our citizens and we cnt even checkmate gun smuggling talk more of been able to knw who has a particular gun and when the gun was giving.we should be working towards state and community policing, beef up intelligence gathering, overhaul our security apparatus and mass sensitization on the importance of nigerias unity.our religious leaders ve alot to do than just ranting.they need to understand the key role they can play in all these and instead of venting anger, thus influencing their followers into hate,a more subtle approach should be adopted.buhari himself must be up and doing,nt just in words bt action

there's an iota of truth to what he said but that is no justification for the massacre that occoured in Benue state..dialogue will not solve the problem but instead government should find a lasting solution to this problem and see how these herdsmen can have a ranch, pay tax for its use cos these problems always start the moment they take their cow to someone's farm

PoliticsMinmum Wage In Nigeria: Still No Hope Insight For The Nigerian Worker by Ugik(op): 11:43pm On Dec 04, 2017
Last week, president Buhari inaugurated a committee to review the current minimum wage in Nigeria. The inauguration took place at the castle chambers.

The current minimum wage has expired and the executive intends to send an executive bill to the senate once the committee submits their report. Workers in Nigeria are considered as endangered species in our polity mainly the state and LG workers. While countries like chad, ecuador and estonia pay $1250, $5125, $6534 as wage base,Nigeria pays $59,unarguably the least in the world..

Truth is the minimum wage increment has never helped an average Nigerian worker and this whole set up like the ones done by previous governments as far as am concerned is a political charade that will not bring any lasting solution to the problem of an average Nigerian worker for so many obvious reasons.

There's a structural disalignment in the definition of what minimum wage is. Its about the minimum you can place a worker in the sector he is working. Instead of been a wage base,FG is calculating it on incremental basis. We see it as salary increase and that is our major problem. The main reason why I called this a political charade is what constitutional provision mandates the FG to set up such committee. Its the job of the national wage committee to send a bill to the national assembly.

What the FG should be doing to help Nigerian workers is not just coming up with a new wage base because even the current 18000 is not even paid by most states. In the southeast here,3 states are owing,namely,Abia,5-9 months, ebonyi ,4months,Imo,6months.Delta,akwaibom,adamawa,Kaduna,kwara,to mention just a few are all owing. Its a good thing they are part of the committee so they dont come out to say they weren't part of the negotiation even oshiomole,a former leader was owing before he left.

The issue of minimum wage is on the exclusive list but its the only issue federal government has allowed to be on the concurrent list. No state government has paid minimum wage as at when due and even when they do,how much are they paying kwanu? Let the salary of these workers be charged directly and deducted at source just like the primary school teachers own are been paid by FG. If the money for the salary of these workers in the state and LG is paid directly to them from the FG account,it will be worth more to them than all these political statements government make whenever elections are around the corner.

How can this be achieved? First, remove the"federal civil servant" status. Those who work in state and LG,they all have the same job description. Mind you,we haven't started talking about parastatals or LG.issues of water supply, power been handled by parastatals are quiet crippled cos they are not been taken care of. Its on the exclusive list of FG and no state or LG can argue about it.why then is the FG closing their eyes and reducing the issue to a concurrent list item and thats why when states can't pay, nothing will be done about it.

Labour unions have also failed in the discharge of their duty and its high time they start thinking about the welfare of an average Nigerian worker than hobnobbing with the government
PoliticsLibya Slave Trade: Time For Africa To Unite by Ugik(op): 12:41am On Dec 03, 2017
Slave trade in Libya is actually as old as the origin of slavery in North Africa which began between the 18th and 19th century. little wonder Mahmud Ghadaffi in 2010 apologized to the international community for Libya's role in the olden day slave era.

Slavery then was actually conducted by Libyan indigenes such as Tuareq who is said to have facilitated and taxed organizers of the trade back then. Even after 1853,when slave trade was abolished in libya theoretically, in practice,it continued until the 1890's that even the British consulate in Benghazi,Libya had to write to warn the government of the increasing boom of slave trade in the north African country as it was eating deep into their national fabrics and was thus becoming a way of life for them..

Adolf Vischer(1911), Ahmed Hassanein (1923) Dansh knud Holmboe(1930) all discoverd in their respective reports back then that one could buy a girl from local slave masters for the rate of 30 to 40 Pounds despite global civilization as at that period. Believe it or not, during the ghadaffi era, slavery was still been practiced but not at a conventional rate but in secrecy. So,am I surprised with what's been happening? Absolutely not.

It was after the overthrow of muamar Gaddafi in 2011 that the slave business became more of an open secret with migrants whose papers weren't complete been the most vulnerable and for the fact that Libya is a major exit point for African migrants heading to Europe makes the whole business more lucrative.

These migrants are detained and sold as slaves after been detained by people smugglers.women are used for sex slaves and sold to brothels and private Libyan clients while the men are usually used for forced lab our and even ransomed to their families back home.
It was after CNN uncovers this story early this month that the story became a subject of international discuss. Nigeria,Senegal, somalia and Gambia are the worst hit countries.

The Libyan coast guard been trying their best to clamp down on these people and that has necessitated a means used by these people to hide their slaves by getting them in cramped warehouses to avoid Libyan coast guards.Thats where they stay till they are ransomed and sold for labour.

Now the world is aware, what next?..Countries like burkina and DR Congo recalled their ambassadors from libya as if that would solve the problem.with regards to Nigeria, over 4000 citizens of ours have been brought back.Despite the high rate, its not just a Nigerian thing. It affects the rest of Africa as most African countries are suffering from a high rate of inflation, economic down turn, mismanagement of the countries wealth, bad leadership and abject poverty. In Nigeria alone,161 Nigerians were brought back in February, 600 in 2016,262 and 128 in July and august respectively.

This shows you how bad the situation is. In as much as the world is condemning this,we must call upon our leaders to address the pertinent reason for this emigration by mapping out a collective blueprint to make Africa an economic viable continent as we are blessed with natural resources.

The government of every country in Africa must go back to the drawing board, drop all these unnecessary summits and make their actions louder than their voice..
Together,we can all solve Africa's problem.

CareerThe Best Traffic Control Officer In Nigeria by Ugik(op): 10:32pm On Nov 29, 2017
Enugu state is my home state and thats where i reside..in enugu, theres a part of the town where i grew up in.its called abakpa..

.abakpa has always been a crowdy and busy city, always filled up with Cars, tricycles and people hurrying to differents Destination. This sometimes causes serious and annoying hold-ups that lasts for hours. Well that problem seized after a hardworking traffic officer was sent.
Am sure by now most of you guys living in Abakpa already know or recognise the young man in the picture. Well sit back let me tell you a little story about him.
His name is Eze Peter. Don't ask me from where because i don't know, but that's by the way. . We see him standing on the islands/road (under scorching heat of the burning sun) from morning - afternoon or afternoon - dead night. He is always on neat uniform all suited up. Civilians and most especially Drivers respects him and obey traffic whenever he is around. He respects civilians, always tries; *to minimize accidents and jams so that people can move easily and freely. *to control the movement of people and vehicles on the road. * to help pedestrians, women and children and old people cross the road.
He is very sincere, dutiful and punctual. He renders great service to the town.
Make a difference where ever you find yourself and people will appreciate and write good about you.
* * * *
May God bless him forever

RomanceWomen And Their So Called High Standards by Ugik(op): 10:16pm On Nov 29, 2017
I have seen girls where I come from and even girls on social media will mention standards they want in a guy
Then upload pictures and they will be looking like humble beginnings
Without filters they look like proud victims of domestic violence.
We all try to raise standards when we talk about relationships. I have seen ugly gals talk about how they need handsome dudes and can't date an ugly guy and am like wtf?

When you get into a relationship, ask yourself what do you have to offer? What values are you bringing in?
You need a rich guy, babe are you rich too?
Do you have such standards?
Dont be mentioning standards when you are not even up to standard to compliment the kind of man you want..
Most people talk about love and how much they need love..truth is,most people are in it for bleeps.

If you want love, then dont expect anything for doing anything for him or her. Once you start expecting, then it becomes a business of demand and supply.Love is selfless.
