That you make 50% on a venture doesn't state it as the optimum achievable feat anyone can get. Problem is data analytics. Nigerians don't write down their business so they can't expand on projections, estimations and resources.
I live with this, when productivity is otimized it can easily be formed I to a continuous chain reaction.
Once again, the scammer I never called you a scammer. I'm just telling you that making 200 % margins AS A FIRST TIMER in any business is HIGHLY UNLIKELY. 200 % margin when you have learnt the ropes is a possibility like highly possible but first time? don't think so Okay let me ask you Did YOU make 200 % margin the first time YOU ventured out? |

Quorax: People who ask for business ideas have no business being in business because one of the hallmark of an entrepreneur is to be able to identify a need in the society and fill it, which by extension birth a business.
If you can't do this simple arithmetic, get a job. If you have a job, stick with it otherwise you will lose your 3M. you have a point |

SoNature: Just be careful with Nigerians
I remember looking for what to invest 300k in.
Later, a man, who owns a poultry approached me, asking me to invest it in his business with assurance of 15% in 3 months.
He told me he needed to get feed, get more chicks and expand his cage.
I told him I would start with 50k, and if it goes well, I will keep increasing it in an arithmetic progression until I hit 300k.
In January, I invested the money.
He told me he would pay my capital and interest of 15% after Easter sales.
After Easter sales, he approached me and started begging for more time.
Till today, he is telling me one story or another.
I just like that I am being patient with him because, even though I can forfeit the money, I will not.
I am waiting for the right time to act.
Again, it's difficult getting ONE sane person in the business world of this country.
It's better you leave your money in the bank. You wake up every morning and see your account balance and be happy than lose everything in the name of investment.
I think real estate is one of the best ways of investing money. you have said it all |

However, when a parent who has the moral capacity to do so corrects you in love by punishment or spanking, it sinks.

deliveryboy: Stop this good father narrative. Sometimes fathers have to put down the strong foot even if we don’t like it, his job is not to appear good most times. Thrashing fathers all the time has made young men not look up to being fathers because fathers have been made villains. Just wish fathers happy Father’s Day. A father's role include instilling discipline in his kids Like proper discipline I see no reason why a father cannot be good and still install discipline My father was a good dad to me (HE tried his best despite many imperfections) And YET did not compromise on discipline These days they don't beat, but my father then will knock SENSE into your head. YET he was still still good dad. my point Is that instilling discipline and being a good dad does not have to br mutually exclusives |

safarigirl: Isn't it easy to put it all on parents? How many parents can even effectively parent these days?
Did your father ask you to have sex out of wedlock? Is it your parents that told you there is nothing wrong with pregnancy out of wedlock? People who steal, is that what their parents taught them? Did someone's father tell him that Yahoo is the best way to make money? Is it parents that tell their kids to kidnap? Do you know what efffect human interaction has on people? Is it not this world that children from strong, Christian backgrounds easily fall into 'sin'?
So, we should omit the influence of peer groups, social media, educational institutions, on the way we think, act, and conduct ourselves, and put it all on Parents? Did you do Social Studies in school?
You have just proven that you indeed, are limited in knowledge as regards psychological influence.
Happy Father's Day, I hope that your children reflect all the values you teach them when they grow older, I highly doubt you are a parent yet, though. peer groups have their influence, yes the media has it's own influence, yes (these days big influence) I am not denying that, and anyone denying that is not serious I'm just saying that the GREATEST influence on one's life especially at the formative years are the PARENTS, and better raised kids are in a better position to maje better choices, regardless of other influences. that's all I'm saying And besides this comment you made as quoted below Did someone's father tell him that Yahoo is the best way to make money? Is it parents that tell their kids to kidnap? is somewhat naive Who are the ones receiving the proceeds of crime (is it not the parents? ) who are the ones collecting money from children they KNOW are not into big legit things and are not asking the pertinent questions? . even mother's are pushing their kids into crime these days in Nigeria (not all tho) People who steal were not taught contentment by their parents many atimes) Because parents STOPPED quizzing their kids on the source of their income, and don't even care, it gave them an extra incentive to commit these crimes. You CANNOT downplay the influence and the responsibility of PARENTS in shaping their children So that they won't be victims of bad influence, or being bad influence themselves to others "How many parents can effectively parent?" you see; this above proves my point that because many parents cannot effectively parent, we are having nuisance everywhere The media and peer groups have their influence But Parents are the BIGGEST influence on their kids (if they are ready for it) |

safarigirl: Am I really choosing, if my choice is made under duress? Am I really choosing, if my choice is borne out of a need to be accepted by people? Is that free will?
Do you know how many womem have been pressured into losing their virginities because all their friends are doing it? Do you know how many people feel disgusted with themselves for giving themselves away like that?
What is your definition of free will? Because a lot of you do not understand the psychological undertones in these things. When your mind has been enslaved, you do not have free will. Free will is a farce in today's world. I don't understand the psychological undertones to these things? Lolol Lmao There is a reason why you came to this world with parents and you are from a family They have been here before you, and they are to GUIDE you for the first few years of your existence towards what is good and what is bad, and the consequences of each action When you have been properly guided AND FULLY understand the consequences of each action, you are less likely to "make decisions under duress" Nigeria for example is a failed, finished country; and what contributed to its failed and finished state is the FAILURE of the parents to raise BALANCED individuals the PROPER way... what they did instead was to raise docile subservient punks. That is why you hear most of this duress thing For example, a daughter who was raised well by her father, and given a healthy dose of self esteem will be less likely to "give herself up" let me use your words under duress.... she values herself so much, and would rather enter into sexual relationships when she is ready for it (not necessarily when she gets married) A man who was raised properly by his own father and is balanced is less likely to seek validation elsewhere He got that at home already, from people that really love him. why do these black boys in America try to seek validation by joining gangs and all that? most if the time, there is that hole in their lives that their fathers did not fill, and they go out there to fill it.... My point is that with proper parenting and a good family structure, in the era of free will and choices, one is more inclined to make better choices Then being forced blindly to do things PARENTS have a huge role to play in the 21st century you may not like the world the way it is but you can't change it... but then you have to raise your kids right And BTW it's father's day happy father's day to all father's out there Please let us continue to play our God given role in raising BALANCED kids. God bless you all this Sunday every one here |

safarigirl: Society is still dictating to people and telling them who they are, society has just changed requirements and widened the scope of judges.
Today, society is dictating that virginity is outdated and acceptance is only based on your willingness to have sex out of wedlock. Society is telling you if you aren't clubbing and smoking, then you aren't living life. Society is telling you that being a babymama is fine, and people should not be held accountable for their actions.
Today, society is glorifiying criminality because the government and politicians have made things 'difficult'. Today, society is telling women the skimpier the clothes and the lighter their shades, then the easier they can be accepted. Society is telling women that theie bodies are ugly and they need to constantly change it for the approval of men, society is spreading the belief that old age is unnatural, that every sign of aging is like a disease that must be cured by surgery or 'skin care'. Society is telling women that their vaginas are more important than their brains, and telling men that you don't need to be a human being, as long as you have money.
Society is selling depression in large doses.People are feeling sad, people feel unwanted, people feel pressured to be who they are not, to please people who don't care about them. Yes, this generation is having such a great time with civilization. Peep the suicide figures for a greater appreciation of modernity These days, we have FREE WILL And the CHOICE that is the difference you will not know the value of those two until its taken away from you (Ask the Saudi's) These days you can CHOOSE to be whatever you want to be.. you know right and wrong and you can CHOOSE to do right for your own happiness These days you can CHOOSE to be a Virgin to be at peace with your God and to keep away from STD and to be away from emotional entanglements; not because you want to please one Man, or seem "valuable" to a man You can CHOOSE not to go clubbing because you have better things to do wity your time, and you don't want the health risk of smoking anyhow or excessive alcoholism Choices and Freewill are the greatest gifts of the 21st century those who choose to go the other way accept the consequence of such acts. Society will always set standards the difference is that today we have choices DasAll |

Smartjob1: First, I did some manual jobs for 8months living with my mother. I saved 90% of the money during the period to buy a laptop and modem. Then I taught myself how to run econometric and data analysis using eviews, spss, sata12 and minitab using youtube (still doing menial jobs by the side). Once I am good with what that, I started contacting people in different schools, online, etc to let them know I can run their analysis (it is a must for all social and management students - Bsc, Msc and PhD) to use in doing their projects (Chapters 3, 4, 5). I told them I would do it for free for them for the first time. Few responded after months of trying my luck. Fortunately, those who responded got straight As from it and then - boom! The referrals skyrocketed. I started handling analysis from a Bsc to a Prof. With more jobs, the more my knowledge grew and the more I made money. I charge between 10k 100k for an analysis that wouldnt take more than 3-5mins to finish. Sometimes, I do this for 5 people in 2 days.
I saved money from there to set up my first company - SolPro (an ICT firm). I quickly registered as a vendor with some big firms in Port Harcourt. Then I started receiving quotes from my clients. My brethren, my story has been growing from there. I was 27years since this started.
I went on to setup an HR social networking platform www.bejite.com (which is currently offline because we are working out something. But has an alexa rank of 14m worldwide. Not bad for a social network that just started few years ago by an amateur).
I also setup a training center for programmers called CodePro. There, programmers will be trained to join us in the long-term.
We are not there yet, but we are not where we used to be. Ahead! Ahead.
Well, I still run analysis for people. But this time, I call the shots big time! You deserve some accolades You did well *applause* .Shine your eyes as you are climbing further to the top criminals and naysayers lurk in the corners |

hahn: "If your business idea is good enough it should be able to raise capital for itself"
I started out as a middle man. I simply marketed products from wholesalers directly to the customers. Customers pay me, I deducted my profit, paid the seller and shipped to the buyer.
That way I don't have to bother about capital. I simply use the customers money as capital this is a good one |
