MaziOmenuko: This is an ignorant comment. If such a fella is running a consulting firm and government contracts his firm for services, he is not required to do nysc. But if he is taking up a political appointment as maybe, minister for science and tech, ogbeni he must serve!
Go and make some research about other countries who have same conditions. Some countries you must have tk serve in the military (Korea republic is 2yrs military service). That is why Son Hing of Tottenham is trying his best to win a sports medal for his country as that is the only way he will be exempted from a 2yrs military Service. And their own be say, even if you are not resident in the country, you must come home and serve or forfeit being a Korea citizen. thank you very much for educating him |

HaileSelassie: 2018 has been a roller coaster year for me.. Got a job around Feb immediately after service.. Obviously oblivious of how office politics is played, I got booted out some four months later.
Only to discover that the girl I had built my dreams with was only leveraging on me and cheating all d time. Attended a record 15 interviews after being relived no show... Gosh!
I lost interest in life itself.. I lost interest in developing relationships, Backstabbing friends, selfish FAM, mom remarrying just a year after dads death, losing that family love I once enjoyed as a last born, mehn I slipped into depression...
I long lost interest in My dear Arsenal football club, getting to watch again after Emery appointment. Lost interest in sex, lol my libido used to be up above d clouds, lost interest in my web development tutorials..
I had fixed q date to commit suicide sef, just hung on and finally opened up to my elder bro. Who admonished me not to give up!
D only thing safeguarding my sanity is working out.. Venting the frustrations on those iron bars.. I lost fat and built up muscles.
Well still haven't gotten a Job, the interviews keep coming had one on Friday, and another comes up on Wednesday, not giving up yet.. I might have Lost a great deal of my vibe, but I am getting back to my real self
Still got bouts of depression now and then, but I know it will be over soon.. Amen You will get a better job than the one you were booted out from Take that from me With determination and God's favour, you will prevail at the chagrin of your detractors P.S. As long as you wrre not at fault sha for the booting out |

All fields are useful in their own way just that the Nigerian economy is not well shaped. And yes, if you say engineers and scientists choose to be dormant, then it also means that the lawyer's and accountants and other fields also chose to be dormant Where are the research lab in Nigeria to use the scientists Even the engineers what are most of them doing,? I go to Nigeria from time to time and I see all manners of fuckery in the corporate space and all. And ANY ONE can be an entrepreneur All it takes to be one is to solve problems / attend to the needs of potential customers it has nothing to do with your field of study lawyers, engineers etc have opened and run successful businesses in Nigeria |

It’s not your fault but the misogynistic culture you’re raised in. One would think he would be more enlightened now.

CodeTemplar: I have nothing personal against them but there are too many of them in the system, and in a dormant economy like ours they end up being stuck in the system as unemployed hands. There most be adequate wealth in a system for accountants to be needed to keep books but we are largely a consuming nation. There are not too many of them The economy is just dormant That's all. in a country that populated, it's normal to have many people in diverse fields eg engineers, lawyers economists doctors etc do you know how many doctors and accountants there are in India? the problem is as you have said the economy is not dynamic enough to absorb them. you know how many engineerrs ), chemists, microbiologists And even geologist are useless And redundant in Nigeria? the economy is still under developed and basic in a way And the job of the chartered accountants goes way beyond keeping the books, so note that too |
Career › Re: What Is The Highest Monthly Salary Of Someone You Know In Nigeria? by Ugosample(m): 7:01pm On Sep 17, 2018 |
CodeTemplar: Most lawyers and accountants don't have nothing to offer and that's the truth. Even the chartered accountants that earn really well are mostly overrated.
The problem I have with most uneducated folks making millions or billions is that most are just traders or middlemen and don't create wealth in the real sense of it.
Take the milk industry in Nigeria for example. The Asians Europeans and Americans do most of the real milk production and I call this wealth creation because they interact with the gift of nature like soil, rain and light plants directly to feed their cows. Now these people employ so many hands. Nigerians and Africans on the other hand produce next to no milk and are merely packaging imported milks as middlemen. The end result is that the milk 1000 men will produce abroad will takes 100 men to package and redistribute in Nigeria / Africa. Most people don't realize the value you can add to an establishment in wealth creation cycle influences your take home hugely. it's like you have a case against accountants and lawyers they do their bit, just like every other profession |

theoldpretender: The truth of the matter is simple
That is N65 that could have gone elsewhere...like transport, health, education, etc.
But the government keeps on spending N65 because the alternative....complete deregulation....is horrifying politically
But from an economic point of view....removing subsidy could enable us save more forex, and free up more money for public spending projects.
I think it is high time we faced the truth...and removed subsidy. Yes...fuel price will shoot up to N300 per liter...BUT....foreign investment would flow in, more investment will flow into our oil sector...and eventually prices will come down.
GEJ and Okonjo Iweala had the right idea in 2012....the problem was Nigerians of all shapes and sizes...GEJ fans inclusive...prefer cheap oil. Well, cheap oil is costing us money that is better spent elsewhere...and money that to begin with...is not enough (and I haven;t even talked about corruption).
Oil subsidy must go. It should have gone since 1986...since 1993 since 2006 and since 2012. It has to go now. exactly |

RevenGeMission: Because the cost of processing your crude oil is rising everyday and it's not in your favor because you don't have good exchange rates , and while this administration is trying it's best to keep you on the road , all you can do is hate the man who is making all sacrifices to ensure that you use fuel by all means
If i mention Jonathan now , you will complain, he's the only one who sold petrol for 150$/barrel and never thought of repairing or building refineries, he preferred to settle the likes of Tompolo, Dokubo and Yahoo CAN pastor if they threaten him a little bit
That's why we are suffering now
If Dangote completes his refinery right now , i bet he will charge us less to refine our crude oil , but in the process make more money to build more refineries
Dangote refinery costs 10B usd , That's half the amount the cancer patient (Denziani ) took to UK and why Lamido lost his Job
$10B = 3,625,000,000,000 That's ~ 4Trillion but Mama Piss has 1B in her fidelity bank account frozen by EFCC
all these things we are suffering is cause and effect , take it or leave it , i have said my own
Patience Jonathan stop lying Petrol NEVER sold for $150 in the last 7 years |

They can earn that because they carry the knowledge required to create a dangerous amount of wealth. Employers outside Nigeria are generous with salary as long as you can justify it in value. Most people here are law or accounting graduates who probably passed through one overcrowded uni and think their degree will do the magic of a N350k job for them. don't talk bad of lawyers or accountants (at least the chartered ones) o I know some who are making the kind of money most engineers can only dream of o Especially the one who deal in maritime /copyright law, forensic accounting services etc etc your life is what you make of it Some of our Igbo brothers who did not finish school are multi multi millionaires |

And to be honest, that's one reason I have scant regard for salary earners in this country who prance about feeling big. Go out there on your own and prove yourself if you have something special. They're nothing but overpaid and over fortunate imps in my eyes... Make money in the street as an entrepreneur or hustler and then you'll have ny respect. there are salaries I hear of in Nigeria, and they get me like Though its a fraction of the population |

Hedonini: .. Still doesn't justify the salary. Not even a quarter of it. He can't possibly earn higher than the global CEO of a top 20 company of the Fortune 500. Tell me how much the top partners of any of the Big 4 (in top tier countries) earn....
I smell corporate governance abuse because even CEOs of Deloitte earn less than $300k ANNUALLY., while partner salaries at Arthur Andersen range from $481,010-$516,000 ANNUALLY (Source: https://www.glassdoor.com/Salary/Arthur-Andersen-Partner-Salaries-E342339_D_KO16,23.htm).
