oglalasioux: The problem with us is over population without the corresponding plans to cushion it. Back in the 60s to early 80s the population was manageable until the explosion of the last three decades.
The infrastructure to handle the population is the bane of the problems we have. Our leaders fill their pockets instead of planning for the future while we, the populace, go on to sire more children and marry as many wives as possible.
Stigma against unmarried people, criminality of abortion, bad child adoption system, discrimination against same sex marriages and celebrating many children as a blessing from God are some of the reasons our population will burst at the seams in the near future unless we change our mindset. If not, what we are experiencing today in black Africa will be picnic to what future generations will face. I agree with most of what you have said. |

judebebo32: Last year election was historic,as the sitting president was voted out of power. In all honesty I supported the meek, gentle and sometimes clueless leader and I was met with utmost disappointment when it became lucid that he had lost the election. Truth be told 2015 general election was marred with deceit, propaganda and ethnic bigotry, and the effect still lingers on in our daily lives. I have been to plethora of countries and I am left stone faced anytime I had to join a long queue just to have my passport checked, then the thought of only one country where I won't have to queue to check the authenticity of any visa lingers through my mind and that country is Nigeria. We might lack the basic social amenities, we might be perceived as fantastically corrupt, we might be seen as morally degrading and technologically backward country but the truth is no doubt God has blessed us beyond imagination.crude oil, Gold, Coal , fertile land and many more are the good things the almighty benign creator has blessed us with. During my youth service last year I could barely afford chicken but I eat fish almost everyday, over here in London the reverse is the case. The simple answer to the question why sea foods are cheaper in Nigeria is simply because we have it in abundance. I might be out of the country but my heart yearns for my be lovette country, I am aware of the hardship and economic situation, the most surprising thing is our youths our perceived leaders of tomorrow seeking for all means to travel abroad with never to return perception. It saddens my heart when my parents categorically told me not to return home after my studies because there's nothing for me at home, they might be right as unemployment is increasing as the day progresses, but I am a world changer I carry with me dreams to turn Nigeria around, dreams to make my country great again. While most people hide their passport I am proud to flaunt mine, my green passport is my identity, it's my origin, I am an ambassador of my great nation. I might not be a supporter of the current president but we all need to support him in his dreams to make our nation great again, his desire to cleanse the mess created during the last 16years. Let's drop out tribal sentiments, our political party affiliations and support President Buhari to make Nigeria great again. One nation, one country, I love my country .

tsephanyah: Almighty US and alies protect Israel with extreme hardware, yet Israel live in fear and been attaked everyday, irondome can't protect them, they live with two eyes open 24/7, Israel is surrounded by Shi'a, if it's sunni, wow!! it will be worse, will only be known as zombieland, not Israel vs Palatine. now let us Annalise Biafra nation surrounded by sunni countries control by Isis, yes Isis* because thy will take over Algeria, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Chad Cameroon, God forbid any civil war kicks in Nigeria, thy will snatch that opportunity. After civil war in iraq, the US and UK, big mistake, Instead of creating a benign liberal democracy, the war in Iraq has emboldened violent jihadis and inflamed sectarian conflict. The country’s politics remain precarious and deeply unstable, defined by sectarianism that pits Arabs against Kurds, and Shias against Sunnis. Christians have fled or been “cleansed” from much of the region. The disorder in Iraq has gravely affected the wider Middle East, empowering Iran, heightening tensions with Saudi Arabia and greatly complicating the civil war in neighbouring Syria, where as many as 400,000 people have died since 2011 and many millions have been displaced. The instability in the Middle East has also contributed to the worst refugee crisis in Europe since the end of the Second World War. If this happens in nigeria, What will be of Africa talkless of Biafra? What will happen to minority Christians in the north? What of population of igbos that still leave in the north after much covert warning by the ipob? So pls hold this Biafra thing, for some other century not this one, the world have seen enough chaos another refugee crisis in Africa will be worst than world war 2. So peace is not negotiable, bombing the pipeline will only cause big problem to south not north. is all about oil, isn't? There is more oil and gas in the north than any place in the world, in fact oil was first discovered in north, drilling material was first deployed to north. Just because of sea water, conspiracy brought by the engineer's report. makes the south think thy have rich land than North ^<> uranium, wind energy, solar energy, fertile land, enough land, less erosion land, coal, zinc, gold, all in the north. Pls we want out too, is just that there is Isis in play now, so the Biafran and lazy bombers should sharrap, and keep quiet for a while, when the time is right, we will vote and leave this almagation or whatever. Call me names, badmouth my English, whatever ma dai kun gane mai nake nufi. Lastly we knew that there is covert operations going on in the south, example DSs oncovert graves of death hausa/fulani Muslim, hmm planning attack on lagos, I wonder how our subjew educated Igbo's reason sometimes. bakynes: You make mockery of yourself. You igbos are just jealous of the Yoruba laying claim to their ancestral home "Lagos". You cannot blame the Yorubas for the British coming to the entity called Nigeria through their land.
I have repeated this story to educate people like you many times and am tired. The colony of lagos is different from Lagos State of today. Colony of Lagos is just a small area where the british established an administrative control over the entire Nigeria and these places are Victoria Island, Ikoyi and Marina. When they left part of the Western region was added to make it Lagos state. ikorodu,Epe, Ajah, Lekki side were Ijebuland before the creation of state. The Ikeja downwarda towards the Alagbado side was Awori land. The Badagry side was Egunland. So please Educate yourself before spewing thrash. Nothing you can do or say will change the fact tha Lagos State is Yoruba ancestral land. We have a Governor in place, traditional rulers in place and all other administrative and cultural structures in place and nothing will ever change that. Answer the simple question, are you from Lagos? As long as you are not from Lagos, even if you are Yoruba, you are still a foreigner here too. The Lagosian friends I have from Ikoridu and Epe don't behave or reason this way, it is always the others who migrated from elsewhere that talks this rubbish. |

mrkayusfit: Look at the type of junkies the igbos appoints as leaders. Instead of formulating policies to improve his state, he his busy gallivanting to Lagos for an irrelevant church service. Are there no churches in the south east? What economic benefit is this senseless visit to his state? The east is the least developed region in Nigeria excluding imo state led by rochas because other governors fail to put on their thinking cap. Ebonyi state governor the other day was distributing foreign made SUV's, instead of going for a cheaper option in innoson while most people in his state cant afford 3 square meal. This is how the eastern leaders waste their tax payers money on irrelevancies and instead of their youths to hold them accountable, they will instead blame Buhari for their woes and start screaming biafra as if angels will be their leaders in their imaginary biafra. Shame on IPOB yoots **** Has AreGBEshOLE paid salaries in Osun state? What of Ajimobi? You people should just shut your mouth. |

Yujin: Disintegration makes the obstacles towards attacking corrupt politicians easier. Igbo youths can attack the criminals in govt within our region and demand accountability and productive leadership. The same is expected from the youths of various regions and it would be much easier for them too. Its the youths of the region versus their corrupt leaders. If you slack then its your problem. This Nigeria is dead and can never work unless it's restructured. Restructuring Nigeria is the ultimate but where it's not feasible then outrig disintegration becomes the only choice. Restructuring Nigeria is the best... Diintegration will not solve the problem... Gambia is a small country yet it's people are suffering, Senegal is small and relatively homogenous yet it's people are suffering.... And examples like that abound across Africa. So I still believe that disintegration is not the solution. |

Yujin: A general revolution in this Nigeria is impossible. The present youths are not united and can never be. The reason is not farfetched as its obvious our world view are far apart. For the east, we can go against the criminal politicians among us in less than two weeks of agreement but that cannot be said for the west and north where there's near worship of rulers(politicians). Again, the desires of the three constituents of Nigeria defers. We from the east appreciates monetary gifts in our times of challenges but seek true self sufficiency and will reject the change offered to us if we do not see any sincerity in our leaders giving us opportunity in achieving self sustenance. The same cannot be said of our compatriots from the other regions. Without a uniformity of mindset, no revolution can succeed. True revolution rejects monetary inducements and withstands the brutality of the security personnels which of course would be sent to quash it. Can the present lily livered youths resist the murderous Nigerian Army? Can the hypocrites who chaired the blood loving maniacs of the Nigeria Army on their killing spree of unarmed biafran agitators stand firm when the nozzle is turned their way? I only laugh at those calling for a revolution in this evil Nigeria. You guys can't do nothing. Like others have said, ordinary good gestures from some folks have made a lot of guys forget the goal our the present struggle. How then can you withstand the bucks loaded politicians and the brutal zombies in uniform? Lol. Just continue dying in silence or make a plan and jet out of the hopeless contraption called Nigeria and hope that by the time you will be returning back, that some herdsmen from Libya won't have occupied your ancestral land after sacking your family members. There's no single thing you benefit from Nigeria yet you are here praising one Nigeria. Any entity that does not exist for the benefit of its people does not worth catering for. And you think disintegration is the answer? |

otokx: For those calling for a bloody revolution, take note.
it is not all rich men that looted state funds, that thread highlighted the growing deep seated hatred some poor people have for hardworking, law abiding rich people who are totally unaware of the former.
This explains the recent upsurge in crime across Nigeria.
Kidnapping is now quite common up north as it in the south. Hunger can make people do unbelievable things |
Politics › Re: Nigeria Has Finished Me: Lessons Learnt by Ugosample(m): 11:24am On Jul 10, 2016 |
Mathemagician1: On the contrary. What I saw on that thread was a proof of Nigerians narrow mindedness with a crave for quick fix. It was a clear indication that Nigerians are OK with the crumbs they get from the politicians and it shows just how the politicians exploit the people by keeping them in abject poverty and giving them crumbs from time to time whenever they cry for a revolution.
The Op spoke deeply about the insensitivity of the Government to the plight of the people. Kind of like a revolutionary call that normally would ignite fierce anger in our mind. But Nigerians being Nigerians hijacked the thread and turned it into a jamboree. Nothing is taken seriously in this country.
Out of the blue someone offered to donate N5000 to 2 people, another person offered N4000 each to 5 people while someone else offered 50,000 to 10 people and it went on and on like a bonanza, completely defeating the essence of the thread. What fuckery
After these generous donations have been exhausted then what? Does it solve the problem of unemployment the OP talked about? Does it solve the hunger or curb inflation? Is N5000 what Nigerian graduates need to start up a business. Nigerians are truly very narrow minded, majority of the people lack critical thinking skills.
Such a pathetic situation we've found ourselves. That's another angle to it bros... And I see your point. BUT people are hungry out there o |
