Sometimes I think you people only read the headlines and not the story. What is true about the nonsense the OP wrote? What influence does a parent have on the educational system except on their ward? Plus, the OP/abdeiz obviously did not get an education because I am trying to figure out how government has transformed into a person. You didn't see that did you? There is only one reason the educational system has failed if you must know. It is being managed by Nigerians. Nigerians are not normal so don't expect anything normal.
Parenra encourage their wards to cheat, and in addition, pay huge fees for expo and special centres. That's it.

NairA is now nothing to write home about...even people were complaining at the border that nairA has become so useless....it's 1k nairA to 1600 cefa.....almost becoming 1 to 1.
These are trying times indeed for our currency.

thanks for the quick response. please if I may ask, what tourist centers can we visit in Cotonou?
Well, you could go to the beach, basically....
You can also go to Ouidah, which is not far from the city, and you will see the slave relics, the temple of pythons, etc.
As for hotel, you can use the GuestHouse at Haie Vive, next to Lambis bar, I have used them, and they are good.
15000CFa per night, And the services are awesome (Free Wi-Fi, air conditioned room, etc)
what else?
Okay transport, you can use the luxurious buses, but even tho that would dig a big hole in that your budget, it is more comfortable.
What else?

My humble advice is to go to Lomé or Cotonou instead
And I say this because your budget will earn you higher utility in Cotonou/Lome than Abidjan.
You'll save money in transport costs, and in addition, things are cheaper in these countries than in Ivory Coast, even tho they all use the same currency.

It's a beautiful with some lovely, attractive buildings.....what about the very long beach....will give account tomorrow when I setup my laptop.

mrkayusfit:
Why is the federal government slowing down their bombardment of this touts? By now the Tanks, warships and bomber jets should have been deployed in full force to the entire Niger delta cos it seems the Indigenes are sympathetic to the scAvengers. Bombing of our oil facilities alone is a treasonable act that must be considered an act of war against Nigeria and here they are threatening to declare Niger Delta Republic. Many states cannot pay salaries and people are dying of hunger because of the actions of these few vagabonds crippling our God given oil wealth. The federal government should not negotiate with them but instead warn innocent people who cares to listen to vacate the region so full military might can be deployed to wipe out the terrorists with brutal force. Anyone caught in the inferno will have themselves to blame cos this nonsense has to stop.

The oil is our collective wealth and no group of people can hold us to ransom. We once fed the whole country with cocoa and groundnut pyramid money and no youth from those regions formed militancy. I can smell the hands of the Biafrans in these renewed militancy and they think this approach will blackmail the FG into releasing Nnamdi kanu or restoring the dead and buried biafra of 1970. We will resist any attempt by any groups to break away and we shall never support any form of referendum. A word is enough for the wise. Do anyhow, see anyhow angry
What is this one saying?

That's why I also think the single passport idea won't fly. It will be better for AU-member countries ratify visa-free travel within Africa for either a 30-60 day period, or a 14-21 day period. Africa needs a higher volume of intra-African trade, so another component of the proposed visa-free treaty would be the full implementation of the Yamossoukro agreement, which called for unrestricted intra African flights among African airlines.

Out of all the most senior officers in Nigeria, SE has 37, none was killed. 8 from the north, all of them were killed. 10 from the west, 2 were killed.
Then Ironsi imposed a unitary system of government on the country so that everything can belong to a region who snatched it!
We must know our history so that when we want to make corrections, we will not end up concealing the truth. This has nothing to do with tribalism but everything to do with the truth.....at times when lies litter the streets.

Prime minister Tafawa Balawa was also killied by army majors from the wailing waillers SE.

It was the year Soviet Union was still alive. So, it is impossible at the moment. At the last time there was a coup in Turkey, my father was in university and there was not even a TV in some cities, so it is not possible. People unite on online against coup. It is that simple and that is stays as an attempt. wink
Let's watch and see.
I still feel the coup has a chance of success.
Because the military in support of this coup are a sizeable number, and will not go down without giving it their all.

Dear People of Nairaland,

Hello from Turkey. I am Turkish National, living in Turkey. I've been following this forum for more than 2 months and I've been being a member of this forum for more than 2 weeks. I just wanted to state a comment here. There are 81 cities in Turkey and this attempt is happening only in 2 cities of country. Ex-president is on air, and he says; ''Turkey is neither a Latin American country nor an African country. There will be no coup in this country. This is just an attempt from bunch of soldiers who are minority in army.'' This is very unusual to Turkish democracy. We have no idea what is going on at the moment but usual life is still going on. We're just watching TV channels and following Twitter about the situation. So everyone must calm down. Nothing is happening. We can be against the government or with the government but we're all against the coup. Current president, current prime minister, current head of parliament was on air. In a coup, it is not possible. So, we're just watching the news. You can ask anything you want.
That man is talking like coups haven't happened in Turkey before cheesy

I know You.

You are stuck at the bottom rung of your multilevel market. The only way to escape from the bottom rung is to trap as many new intakes as possible. Brianwash them to hate themselves and curse themselves but bless you as their god and saviour.

You spend sleepless nights wandering where and whence you will get new recruits. You burn all your energy on long seminars and long speeches where ONLY YOU speak and the others must listen but not speak there by making yourself lord and master over other people.

I know you.

You are very happy to pick up stories like this and use in your marketing seminar. To tell the new recruits to use this person as an example. You will happily make business out of the plight of others.

I know you.

You have no product you are selling nor are you offering any service. But DESPERATELY NEED the money of people selling products and offering services for your own marketing scheme to work. Without them you are nothing. It is their money they feeds your greed. Yet, you are very confident and proud to tell these same people that they are so stupid and are all idiots to be providing goods and services.

I know you. You sound just like the Devil a fallen Angel. You have knowledge of good and evil, but ultimately your plight is to trap as many as possible under your multilevel market bondage.

Once they are trapped, you will leave them to suffer sleepless nights and brain cracking. You will use your top level target as bait for them. Even if they sold their village to the money for your paper form, you will not mind. It was people like you that sold their fellow black people as slaves to whitemen. Black people who are completely confused and have lost all their history in America. They can't stay, they can't comeback. They will never be seen equal to white men no matter what policies are made.

I know you.

And your have come to feed on this poor soul.

Away with your evil . God will provide for this man/woman without your misguidance.
Have you fallen victim before

There is something about Bill Gates visiting Nigeria that is very unnerving considering that he is a global champion of depopulation via vaccination and immunization. Well, Africans are willing guinea pigs. It didn't start with him. His father was a big proponent of population control. He was the head of the controversial Planned Parenthood back in the days. Educate yourselves. Some see philanthropy, I see trojan horse.

The most recent documentary films of the BBC and Al Jazeera on Lagos city did not show the true pictures of Lagos. They showed Lagos with mostly dirty people and filthy streets to paint an overall negative impression of the city that will never attract foreign tourists and foreign investors.
We have to correct their erroneous pictures of the commercial capital of Africa, the largest megacity with the highest GDP in the continent.

There are millions of white people in the US and Europe who think you cannot be safe in any city in Africa.
They don't know that Lagos city is safer than New York City.
Immediately after posting these pictures on my popular @247Nigeria on Twitter, the President/CEO of beBee, Mr. Matt Sweetwood connected with me and many top CEOs and celebrities with hundreds of thousands of followers started following me.

As they day, a picture is worth a thousand words.

We saw the white woman jogging alone unaccompanied on the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge and waited for her to and fro.
That said a lot about her location of Lagos city.

If nothing is special to you about a white woman jogging ALONE in the largest megacity in Africa, that does not mean it is not special to millions of others who have never seen or been to Lagos.
To them, it WOW! What a delightful sight!.

We are planning premieres of "Lagos in Motion" in different countries overseas to show millions of foreigners Africa's largest megacity in 2016.

Do you know that there are even millions of people in Lagos who have never seen or been to the Palms in Lekki!

Every October 11, to celebrate the United Nations' International Day of the Girl Child, we host hundreds of school children to watch films at the Silverbird Cinemas in the Silverbird Galleria on Victoria Island, and majority of them come from the outskirts of Lagoos. They said they have never seen or been to the Silverbird Galleria before.
So, there are local tourists in Nigeria who have never seen a white woman jogging alone in a city in Nigeria.

Intellectual comprehension is a big problem among many people in Nigeria.
The ignorance of one person can help to improve the knowledge of others.

Cheers.
Lagos id safer than New York? *opens mouth*
Though I admire your drive to rebrand the image of Africa in the eyes of the global community, I find that statement hilarious cheesy grin

University education in Nigeria is not about mind development but ability to memorize and score high as the lecturers are lazy.
The difference btw the '60s. '70s Early '80s and now in job availability is that then, the economy was strong and diversified enough for the population of the country. But as the population grew, there was no proportional growth in the economy to keep up with the number of educated(graduands) emerging from the schools. Agriculture and other industries were abandoned as oil began to role out "ready-made" dollars for the rulers, impunity gradually grew in leaps and bounds as there was no punitive measures to curb the corruption especially in civil service.
Banks gave out loans to powerful influential people who never repaid their loans but lived large on borrowed money, lack of prosecution for such crimes committed by "the above the law" people killed many banks and the economy ended up in the bellies of such V.I.Ps.
They didn't create jobs to support govt to grow the economy that's how we got here.
Can you imagine if most of MKO Abiola's companies, Chief Igbinedion's companies like "Canada Dry" which competed stiffly with Coka Cola in Bendel in the '70s-'80s, Okada Air which had already become national carrier for some African countries then. Many other companies owned by Northern business men, Eastern businessmen, Delta today would have had some of the biggest Private and govt companies after they split from Edo (Bendel). These companies would have become exporters of large scale produce and products to earn forex. But they all died with their founders and subsequent govt ignored them as Oil was available for easy "take-away" .
A company that had 50 staff strenght in the '80s should 've by now be employing thousands of young people and the multiplier effect...
