Good development. Still yet, I don't vote parties. I will be more happy when the new party presents a formidable duo that is tested and trusted. Hope they won't let the selfish interest of the old parties override a larger goal of a better Nigeria.

I am waiting...
PoliticsRe: Hurry Up, Jonathan - Reuben Abati by ujchief(m): 9:32am On Feb 03, 2013
Funny enough, he made this article 3 months into GEJ's tenure in acting capacity.

3 years later, when we make the same call, he is quick to remind us that it is too early and that it will take forever for his oga to right the wrong of the past.

Report reaching my desk indicates that the craven cottage power supply lines were connected via the woodwork. The balls hitting it at intervals made the lights to trip off.

Alan Pardew has been great on the transfer market. Can't believe he got sissoko for just 2mil pounds. Same goes for Ba (free) and cisse.

PoliticsRe: Senate Queries N4bn First Lady’s House by ujchief(m): 6:51am On Feb 01, 2013
naptu2: Another question (inspired by the Turai vs Patience case), what happens when Patience Jonathan is no longer first lady? Will the "Mission House" be inherited by the next first lady? What happens if the next first lady is not interested in being a "missionary"?

(We've had "Better Life", "Family Support", WOTCLEFF, WOYEF, etc).
The interest of Nigerian leaders is not in sustenance but in the initiation of new projects with aim of getting state funds for some anonymous projects such as this, which will be a good avenue to siphon money.
@naptu, you asked a good question, "should the budget of a peace mission house for the "unconstitutional" office of a first lady be funded by the FCT?"

Your guess is as good as mine.

The sum of US$5.5 million out of the N7 billion, according to him, had been used for the re-construction and refurbishment of a number of medical clinics in the military barracks of some of the Malian Defence and Security Forces, as part of the Security Sector Reform (SSR) intervention

PoliticsRe: NL Monthly Political Debate by ujchief(m): 5:20pm On Jan 27, 2013
These are my inputs:
1) It will be tedious, if not impossible to organize a weekly debate. The process of debate entails selecting a topic, appointing judges, selecting contestants and then the actual debate. All of us have life outside Nl and keeping up with such weekly activities might be tasking, both on the side of moderators, judges, contestants and voters.

2) I still don't understand the correlation between Nairalanders selecting (or electing) the winners and the points you listed as the advantages of the new method.
$your polling system isn't working, and manual collation of votes is tasking, both in the part of mods and we the floor members that might try to ensure a due process.

3) Lastly, I've witnessed several events requiring voting here in Nl, most of them turn out ugly. there's always room for someone to believe there's foul play somewhere; and don't over-estimate those visiting the politics section of Nl, not all knows what a good point entails. So they are misled to either join the crowd, or vote out of sentiment; be it religious, tribal or ethnic.

Thanks. I will make more inputs and suggestion later.
