As for jerry curls, I love the effect of cold water on my head every morning. I crop my hair on a weekly basis but curls look well on some dudes. cropped hair looks good on me instead as i no fine at all.

And pleeeaaaassse DON't stop taking your medication until it has been proven beyond reasonable doubt that you are healed. Don't let them deceive you into not taking a confirmatory test in the excuse that you shd "exercise your faith". Of course their ready made excuse when their fake miracles are exposed is that the person didn't exercise enough faith.

Of recent i have noticed that my dear friend and "brother" has been missing from this forum and he hasn't been posting his usual heresies. Okay.The article is not 100% correct.As a media person, I usually compare publications. That publication was spurred by lead story used in another magazine.Go and do a research on various publications on churches, that is, magazines that used churches as their cover stories in the recent past. I will not do you a favour of bringing the inaccuracies to your notice. I don't believe in hear say. The writers of the articles are all my professional pals well known to me. I challenge you to call them and you will be surprised at how they arrived at the lead story. In my place, we are working on why microfinance banks owned by organisations including churches are thriving. watch out .

I have read your posts and answers to those who have reacted. I fully agree with you, sad enough I started worshiping at Christ embassy not too long ago here in Holland and i worshiped in one of the branches. Not everybody worshiping there knows their left and right i must confess. After worshiping there for a short while i noticed some things that where not scriptural OK and I reacted here on NAIRALAND. [b]I have been attending CEC for the past 6 months now, If i sum up what i have seen and experience there is no difference from what i have heard of the said church so far.

I am in Holland and i attend the Amsterdam branch, let me point out some few things i have seen, though i was not there to spy, but some how i have been following the criticism of the church and the man of God himself and here is my experience so far.

The first day of attendance was great I was well received and all that and i fell in love immediately with the church and i started going there regularly. But along the line I Begin to see things which i could not reconcile with. Much emphasis is not laid on tithe and offering because of this I was beginning to say why the financial criticism ? before long it downed on me that they have their own style which other churches have not discovered yet on how to raise fund.

1. Offering for LOVEWORLD
2. Partnership offering
3. Rapsody of reality offering
3. Tithe
4. Normal church offering

All these offering is every sunday collection from members with a special envelop.

The pastor of the church has a very subtile way of presenting prosperity message, you must know the Bible not to fall a victim of that. hear this!!!!
"Jesus was motivated to raise Lazarus from the dead because the sister of Lazarus (Mary) blessed Jesus with a very expensive alabaster box oil" Meaning the woman gave a gift to Jesus and Jesus in return raised her brother from the dead. Pls read John 11:1---end

On the thanks given day last year this same man make us believe that he gave 10,000 euro as a thanksgiving offering that the year before he gave 5000 and next year he planned to give 20000. And to demonstrate this he sent for the financial secretary to bring his own thanksgiving envelop to the front of the church and it was a big envelop actually wether the said money was there or not we do not know. This strategy is a professional one.

Pastor Chris wife will soon come to Holland, guess what? every church member should contribute 15 euro each for her visitation because they plan to take her out in limo and in choice Hotel, the way this contribution was announced is what you do not want to hear. 16 couple where supposed to be marring that same day this announcement was made, these couple standing behind the pastor waiting to kiss their bride and groom but the announcement of Pastor Anita's coming overshadow everything and the pastor eventually forgot to tell them to kiss their bride until the service was over.

I do not need to talk about the lifestyle of the members of the church because am not to judge, but i noticed one thing that the congregation do not know the Bible but rather prefer Rhapsody of reality, so they can be told anything and it will be accepted without finding out if its true.[/b]

If you see the way they reacted to this post you will perfectly understand that they do not know much of what they are doing, na follow follow them be. They can die for Chris and the Church but will not give a dam about the Holy scripture that is been grossly manipulated for selfish purpose. I have told some of them that I have respect for Chris but when it comes to twisting the gospel to make them look like GOD I am not going to be a part of that period.

Well,I have attended several Xtian Churches for friends weddings and child dedications. I discovered that different branches of the same church behave in different ways possibly cos human beings have different personalities. That may explain what you observed.And who knows, the money might be inside the envelope. Discuss with the members and give us a report whether they know their bible or not. My approach with xtians is ask them to show me what they are practicing, where it is in the bible.Dont conclude yet but dont give me ganja seed, NDLEA is looking over my shoulder here

5. ALL THOSE DEFENDING GOD AND HIS WORD FORGET THAT THEIR FIRST DUTY IS TO WORK OUT THEIR OWN SALVATION WITH TREMBLING AND FEAR. WHEN WE GET TO HEAVEN {that is if they finally make it} EVERY ONE WILL STAND TO RECEIVE HIS COMMENDATION / CONDEMNATION.

I will also want to ask few questions which some of us can help ask some of these "policemen/women" in the Church.
1. WHAT IS THE TYPICAL WEAR OF AN HEBREW MAN & WOMAN? MUST WE ALL BE DRESSING LIKE AN HEBREW OR A JEW, PETER AND PAUL, SALOME AND LYDIA BEFORE WE CAN MAKE HEAVEN? LET THEM GIVE US AN APPROVED LIST SO THAT WE CAN KNOW WHAT STYLE TO SOW WHEN NEXT WE GO TO FASHION DESIGNERS.
2. WAS THE WOMAN WHO POURED COSTLY OINTMENT ON CHRIST FEET AND LATER ON USED HER HAIR TO WIPE IT OFF WEARING AN HEAD-TIE/NOT? BEARING IN MIND THAT NO PLACE COULD BE A BETTER CHURCH THAN WHERE CHRIST ASSEMBLED HIS DISCIPLES FOR TEACHING.

Pls, these preachers should be concerned on how they can help rebuild hope back to the human race. People are thirsty to know God and not on which skirt is short/long, which hair style is carnal/spiritual. We all need to always remember the story of the pharisee and the common man that met on the altar of prayers. the one who appear "HOLIER THAN THOU" was said to returned condemned and the so call sinner left justified. So remove the beam in your own eyes first.

AND TO THE DECENT PEOPLE OUT THERE, U KNOW WHAT IS PROPER AND BEFITTING TO DO.

. I was born and raised a catholic. My dad was the parish chairman for over a decade. Before then, he was a well known choir master.
So I knew catholic priests at very close range. They should be allowed to marry. Some of them keep multiple girl friends. If I am challenged, I will mention priests from the missionary society of st Paul(MSP) and their babes. One of them got married recently and joined Anglican Church as a priest.

I think you are missing the whole point. What we are doing here is learning and hearing out what the other fellow is saying. You dont know what i believe neither where I worship. I try to tow a middle line-that xtians should avoid insults and discuss issues maturely with scriptural references. No xtian can lay claim to knowing it all.When I notice the only[i]y me knows it all attitude[/i] , off i go. No xtian no matter his level has the power to determine who enters the kingdom of God. I only know in part period.

haba. oga mayor. I only stated what I watched over the TV. It is not a revelation. The pastor in question preaches Christ to non-believers and yet introduces non scriptural teachings on ear rings,necklaces etc. I will never support non scriptural teachings or ideas. .

So, why is it that you're more inclined to paraphrased versions that seem to support your lust for money?

(1) In the first place, anyone who's seeking the gold, necklace and precious belongings of other people in order to do the work of the ministry is a thief. See 3 John 1:7 - is that example of Christian ministers what you read about taking people's gold, necklace and precious things? Paul could say, "I have coveted no man's silver, or gold, or apparel" (Acts 20:33) - and does your recommendation sound similar, huh?

(2) How many places in the New Testament did you read that the Greek word 'huparchonta' (̔πάρχοντα) was "primarily financial"?!? I have tried to check, and I'm checking again - it refers to "possession" (the goods and property that people possess), and not money. If you find one single verse that indicates it is "primarily financial", please post it. I can guarantee you that the paraphrased version (God's Word translation) is misleading - and that prolly explains why you were happy to quote it.

I once watched a video where Pastor Chris said he once misplaced his pen on his desk and needed it urgently to write. Since he could not find it he then laid hands on his paper and 'decreed' a pen to appear and one came out of nowhere!

The op did not hear him well. I still insist that pastor Chris said that he sustained a cut and put the flesh back. He didnt say he cut himself deliberately People need to understand simple use of grammar. I had a cut when peeling oranges can also be rendered: I cut my self while peeling oranges. I think some posters are looking at CEC with coloured eyes. Even little mistakes like typing Christ instead of Chris are used to explain what doesnt exist, that CEC people refer to him as Christ. This is not true but little errors in typing.
I listen to a lot of preachers over the cable during weekends and cringe at some blatant mistakes some of them make but will never make a post of them. If i should consider the behaviour of many xtians including pastors, I wont get near a church gate. True, the ones that disturb me most is outright distortions xtians post here. I think the most important thing now is to pray for one another until we come to the unity of faith.

let me give this example, while listening to testimonies on a cable xtian stattion, a young lady came and gave a run down how she used to operate in the spiritual world. Then she added that women should not wear ear rings and necklaces. Ear rings she said was to block women ears while necklacesare used to drag them like goats to hell . I cringed cos there is no scriptural basis for this. Could you believethat the pastor, a very popular one came and aacknowledgedwhat the young lady said as a new revelation? He now quotes her to justify why sisters should throw away ornaments.
I starred in unbelief at what he said but one thing, he is wining more souls into the kingdom than my self. I have known the pastor for some time. he has done a lot for the spread of the gospel. Despite the error, he taught the people on the death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ. he taught them that Jesus is coming again. Ear ring or no ear ring, the gospel was preached. harlots, robbers etc are repenting during his preaching.

I tire for some people on this forum. who are word of faith (WOF) people? . Every xtian is a word of faith person. All these lengthy grammar na mere intellectual exercise. I dont pay attention to all these partitions in xtianity-orthodox.evangelical, pentecostal,charismatic, word of faith. abeg, which divisions will come next. He wasn't talking about "sustaining" a wound.

The only time he talked about sustaining injury was not about himself, but about Jesus as a little boy. He said he was sure that Jesus as a little boy would heal up (you know, X-Men style ) whenever he sustained an injury as a little kid. I didn't mention this part in my write-up as I the first example was enough to drive home my point.

I also noticed that in your post you did not ask if i heard him correctly but simply asserted that that wasn't what he said. Just dunno what to say to you. I mean, he (Pastor Chris) has said more damning things than that.

Lastly, you said you saw the said broadcast/video. I don't know, I wasn't there with you. But I'll bet it wasn't the same video we saw or it was you who didn't hear him well or simply didn't believe your ears!

You read my write-up? Good. I was in a restaurant and watched that video with just one other person (a guy) and he was just as surprised as I was after Pastor chris said that he used to cut out part of his flesh and put it back. I know what I heard okay? I just wonder why you're so quick to defend him even though he's known to say crappy stuff like that.

The video i was on the cable specifically mentioned sustained a wound, that is a cut. I was on pre xmas leave and was loafing around in the house when the video came on air. The reason i replied is that i have read a lot of distortions of views expressed by people. i have read books written by different xtians only to see parts of the same books lifted and distorted here on nairaland. I prefer it when people post as somebody's views as accurate as the person said or wrote it. As for me, whether i agree with you or not, I owe you a duty to accurately present your views. maybe, one day I open a thread to identify and put out several distortions. So no harm . I wouldn't mind a lunch at the same place where you saw the video. maybe, they will air it again and we can jointly listen to it.

i have already read what you wanted to post. The same thing happened when i posted an article Mission to kiyi' in the travel/tourism board.
but I am very sure you didn't listen to what pastor Chris said in that broadcast What you wrote is quite different from what he said. Did he say that he intentionally cut his body or that he accidentally sustained a wound? The two are not the same thing. Please before we rush to post lets verify that we are posting the accurate statement not one we have distorted.
I have access to about 21 Christian channels including MFM,Chosen, Kingdom Life, LoveWorld, DeeperLife Channel, ABN, Dove, ACBN etc and always flip
through them to see what is on. I listened to the said message hence could expose the distortion. So if any one comes up here with a distorted fact, and i happened to have listened to it, then
