1966 Coup: “THE IGBOS NOW VINDICATED AND EXONERATED”
Olusegun Obasanjo.

"Let the truth be told. The People involved in that so called 1966 “Igbo coup” were:
✴1. Major Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu (Midwest Region Igbo)
✴2. Major Adewale Ademoyega (Western Region – Yoruba), author of “Why we struck”
✴3. Capt. G. Adeleke (Western Region – Yoruba).
✴4. Maj. Ifeajuna (Midwestern Region – Igbo).
✴5. Lt. Fola Oyewole (Western Region – Yoruba), author of “The reluctant rebel”.
✴6. *Lt. Robert (Bob) Egbiko* (Midwestern Region – Ishan).
✴7. Lt. Tijani Katsina (Northern Region – Hausa/Fulani).
✴8. Lt. O. Olafemiyan (Western Region – Yoruba).
✴9. Capt. Gibson Jalo (Northern Region – Bachama).
✴10. Capt. Swanton (Northern Region – Middle Belt).
✴11. Lt. Hope Harris Eghagha (Midwest – Urhobo).
✴12. Lt. Dag Warribor (Midwest – Ijaw)
✴13. 2nd Lt. Saleh Dambo (Northern Nigeria -Hausa)
✴14. 2nd Lt. John Atom Kpera (Northern Nigeria-Tiv).
The reason for calling the 1966 Coup an Igbo exercise is because the government of Nigeria has refused teaching Nigerian History in our schools. And core North has been busy misinforming Nigerians that the 1966 coup was an Igbo coup.
…………………………
❎Yoruba – Igbo fact sheet. This article has no tribal sentiments. Pls add ur own facts if u have any. History will always tell us what happened.
1. Azikiwe defeated Awolowo to become the first Nigerian Premier of Western Nigeria (present Southwest plus Edo and Delta States). Awolowo instead of forming Opposition, rather formed Egbe Omo Yoruba and used it to intimidate Yorubas that won election on NCNC platform to cross carpet and join him against Azikiwe. This was the first parliamentary coup in Nigeria.
2. Awolowo from then on, started indoctrination of Yorubas against the “threat of Igbo domination”. That is how the incurable seed of fear of Igbos was sown in the psychic of Yorubas which Yorubas later sold to other groups through Yoruba control of the media for decades.
3. Alhaji Tafawa Balewa , Nigeria ‘s first Prime minister could not tolerate Awolowo’s treacherous and inordinate ambition of acquiring political power by all means and at any cost. So, he threw Awolowo into prison for treason.
4. Samuel Ladoke Akintola who replaced Awolowo as Premier of Western Nigeria tried to destroy Awolowo’s political grip on Yorubaland by forming a party to takeover Western Nigeria in alliance with the Hausa-Fulani oligarch who Awolowo despised as a backward race. Consequently, Yorubaland went ablaze in revolt against Akintola’s plot. Law and order completely broke down in Western Nigeria. Wole Soyinka wore a mask and forced announcers at Western Nigeria Broadcasting Corporation to declare that Akintola’s government was a fraud.
5. Yet, Tafawa Balewa refused to declare state of emergency in Western Nigeria in order to keep Akintola as a proxy for Hausa-Fulani interest. This was the MAIN reason Yoruba graduates in the Army were the brains behind the coup led by Chukwuma Nzeogwu who happened to be Igbo.
6. As Wole Soyinka and even Obasanjo acknowledged, Nzeogwu ‘s coup was widely accepted by a vast majority of Nigerians across regional, religious and ethnic divides. But the dissatisfied Hausa-Fulani oligarchy who had majority in Nigerian Army infantry used their puppets, Yakubu Gowon, Theophilus Danjuma and co to overthrow General Ironsi.
7. In order to win support of Yorubas, Gowon released Awolowo from prison. The Hausa-Fulani knew Awolowo’s fear of Igbo as the only group that stood against his ambition to power. Gowon therefore quickly made a deal with Awolowo which in effect was that power would rotate between the North and the West (Hausa-Fulani and Yoruba) in post war Nigeria if Awolowo convinced Yorubas to join the North in fighting Igbos.
8. The Nigerian Army was consequently split into two divisions: the northern sector division commanded by Hausa-Fulani and the southern sector division, commanded by Yorubas.
9. Lagos, a city built largely by Igbos and were Igbos invested heavily, was also ceded to Yorubas as a State even when there was no Abuja at the time (1967). Awolowo was made Vice Chairman of Federal Executive Council and Finance Minister. All federal government owned banks in Nigeria at the time which included the Central Bank and First Bank, were under Awolowo and Yoruba management. It was a deal Awolowo could not resist. The man was an unscrupulous Machivellian anyway.
10. The Igbos were eventually defeated and Yorubas became champions of nationalism.
11. Awolowo tried to make sure no Igbo man or woman would ever be more than financial destitute let alone have the financial resources to rival a Yoruba
12. To achieve his objective of permanent Yoruba supremacy, Awolowo insisted that every bank account owned by an Igbo, regardless of how much was in it before the declaration of Biafra, would only be replaced with twenty pounds! He instructed Yoruba Permanent Secretaries who took over the Federal Civil service when Igbos left, to make sure that Igbo senior civil servants were not reinstated but to rather retire those who could not be dismissed as rebels. The same policy obtained in the Armed Forces of Nigeria and Police .
13. The Igbo were not only made pariahs but also financial destitutes.
14. Every house and industry in Igbo city was destroyed by war. Schools were closed for 3 years and many were razed to the ground.
15. Awolowo masterminded the indiginization policy by which Yorubas bought over all companies in Nigeria using money readily made available to them by the banks under their control. The Igbos were excluded.
16. They rejoiced and relaxed and complaisantly asked: “How could Igbos ever rear their ugly heads up again”? Sure, if that had happened to Yorubas or any other ethnic group, that would be their end. But as Awolowo rightly feared, we happen to be Ndi Igbo.
17. The shooting war ended 45 years ago and we are still here. We have survived all policy shenanigans contrapted by treacherous Yoruba masterminds and executed by their Hausa-Fulani allies.
18. In frustration, they have realized that we are who we are. Imagine their frustration! Never mind all Yoruba masterminded psychological attacks on Igbos disparaging us in any way they can.
19. Yes, Federal government policy has made them the tycoons of oil and gas, telecommunications, insurance and manufacturing. Oh, their Hausa-Fulani cum military allies gave Nigeria to Obasanjo for 8 years in keeping faith with their alliance.
20. Bola Tinubu is struggling for Awolowo mantle by forming an alliance of etho- religious jingoistic to ensure power keeps rotating between Yoruba and Hausa-Fulani. Where is the position of the Igbo and other tribes in Nigeria.
THAT IS WHY IGBOS WHO EXPERIENCE ALL THE ABOVE INJUSTICES THINK THAT BIAFRA IS THE ULTIMATE ANSWER.

HOWEVER, MY TAKE IS THAT THIS SHOULD MAKE OUR IGBO LEADERS FOCUSED, AND FIGHT FOR THE COMMON GOOD OF THEIR KINSMEN, NOT ONLY FOR THEIR OWN POCKETS. —

Foreign Affairs / International Relations In One Simple Essay China/usa Case Study by Umennajiego(m): 12:28pm On Apr 25, 2017
Why don't the United States and China form an alliance?

In 1972, when President Nixon made the surprise visit to China, following Dr. Kissinger’s grand plan of breaking the Russia-China alliance, he proposed to Mao to form a formal US-China alliance. Mao refused, pointing out that when the two countries have common interest, they will naturally work together. What he left unsaid, and what Dr. Kissinger was very aware of, was that all what it took for him to get China to the table at that time was a promise that the US would not seek to form an anti-China alliance with Russia.

So you see, the two countries have fundamentally different understanding in international relations. China basically said, I don’t need allies. I just need you to NOT treat me as an enemy. The U.S., to paraphrase President George W. Bush,

"Every nation, in every region, now has a decision to make. Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists."

'You are either with us or against us'

From China’s perspective, be it terrorism, ideological struggles, or drug abuse, they are all mostly domestic issues, so why is the US running all over the world for them? The U.S. has an unfortunate habit of exporting its domestic politics to the whole world. Take drug abuse, for example. Big problem. Yuge problem. Got to jail 1% of the total population for it and start wars on two continents. Got to put the CIA/DEA/FBI/ATF/IRS/various alphabet soup on it. Well, China sits next to the Golden Triangle (Southeast Asia), the biggest drug den in Asia. She’s also neighbor to Afghanistan, currently producing 96% of the world opium. All China did, was to tighten the border and implement strong anti-drug policy domestically. The most she has ever done, outside of her border, was to ask Myanmar, “Pardon me, but could you please move your drug dens a couple of kilometers away from our border? That way we can see them when they are coming?” And that’s it. And she gets very low level of drug abuse in the country.

(Obviously, if you are asking for other countries to lend a hand, you should only ask what they can actually do, without too much trouble. Asking Myanmar or Thailand to clean up the Golden Triangle would be too much, because if they can, they would. Who wants to live with ruthless drug lords in their midst? They can’t. So it’s useless to ask. )

Compare this approach with the US, with the military and DEA agents running from Washington to the southern tip of Peru, invading Panama and kidnapping their president to face drug trial in the US, causing massive level of criminality all over Latin America and pissing all of these countries off. That’s how the US deals with its domestic drug problems. And with all that effort, the level of drug abuse is much higher in the US than in China.

Let me give you another example. The War on Terror. When China had terrorism in Xinjiang, it closed the border, shut down the internet, beefed up local police force, and yanked everybody’s passport, until it went through one village at a time to tease out the terrorists and tried them in court. Then they re-open the border and restore the internet, and that’s that. The most they asked from their neighbors like Afghanistan and Pakistan was to do joint border patrols, and that’s with Al Qaeda and ISIS sitting next door.

One funny thing was that when the US invaded Afghanistan, it captured 22 terrorists-in-training from the Al Qaeda camps, and sent them to Guantanamo Bay. Those guys cried out “but we only wanted to bomb the civilians in China! We are not training to bomb the Americans!” “Oh, OK, then you are not our terrorists then. You freedom fighters can be released.” Chinese Detainees Are Men Without a Country So the US released them, but wouldn’t pass them to China, ’cause they’d be executed. So the US passed them to Europe. Like Europe doesn’t have enough terrorists running around. China expressed sympathy, “Poor you. One Ben Laden is not enough. One Al Qaeda is not enough. One ISIS is not enough. You are still saving up your little pile of ‘good terrorists’. What are you waiting for? Another blow-back?”

In the meantime, the US is invading a bunch of countries and bombing a bunching of countries and droning a bunch of countries, for like 30 years. Pissing off everybody in the Middle East and everybody in Europe. To fight Terrorism. When the US is protected by two oceans and two friendly neighbors. With all that, the risk of a violent death is much lower in China than in the US.

So when President Obama was going around calling China the “freeloader” for not participating in these US-led campaigns, China’s President Xi shot back,

"China does not export revolution, hunger, poverty, nor does China cause you any headaches. Just what else do you want?"

China's 'next leader' in hardline rant

So you ask why the US and China don’t form an alliance - well there is an alliance in those areas with overlapping interest, such as trade, climate change, fighting infectious diseases like Ebola, cultural exchange, etc. But the other things? China’s definition of being a good global citizen is “we don’t cause you trouble”. This is not how the US defines “alliance”. Take a step back, and ask yourself, how much of these kind of problems are due to “the evil foreigners”, when most of the US citizens don’t even have passports, can’t speak a foreign language, and think Africa is a country?

Explorers:
The bodies are believed to have been buried after one of a series of mass deaths swept Paris between the 14th and 17th centuries.

“The fact that so many people were buried together, that the grave is this large, tends to show us that there was a major mortality crisis,”

“The crisis may have resulted from an epidemic, famine, or extreme fever.”

Car Talk / Honda Room (1998-2002) by Umennajiego(m): 12:25am On Mar 03, 2017
More, more, more. Honda's flagship got bigger and better for 1998. The new body style was something of a return to the sleeker, slim pillar and lean flank style Honda used prior to the somewhat chubby '94 to '97 generation. A 7-cubic-foot increase in interior room moved the Accord sedan up to midsize status from its former compact standing.
More power was on tap, too. The 2.3-liter inline four in LX and EX models employed Honda's VTEC system to make 150 horsepower. The DX didn't have the high-tech variable valve timing system and was rated at 135 ponies. A new 3.0-liter V6 produced 200 hp (30 more than the V6 that was available in 1997) and could be had in LX and EX models.
The station wagon was dropped, leaving sedans in DX, LX and EX trim levels and coupes in LX and EX guise.
The few changes that occurred in 1999 included folding sideview mirrors on the LX and EX and new seat fabrics.
Both safety and tune-up intervals were increased for 2000
A new grille insert, with two horizontal bars (compared to one in previous versions) and new taillights, with the turn signals now at the bottom edge marked the 2001 sedans. Safety was enhanced via the adoption of dual-stage front airbags and the availability of side airbags for all models. The '01 Accords were also friendlier toward the environment, as all models met California's Low Emission Vehicle (LEV) standards. Some models were even rated cleaner, earning Ultra LEV (ULEV) and even Super Ultra LEV (SULEV) ratings.
More features were added this year, as EX models got a standard in-dash, six-disc CD changer and all V6 models were fitted with traction control. Midway through the year, a Value Package debuted for the DX that added an automatic transmission, air conditioning, a CD player, floor mats, simulated wood interior accents and special exterior trim. The SE took this year off.
The 2002 Accord marked the fifth year of this generation cycle, making it a bit of a hanger-on as a full redesign every four years was Honda's typical policy. In an effort to extend this Accord's shelf life another year, Honda brought the SE trim level back, now also available in coupe format. Features setting the SE apart from LX models included an upgraded audio system, a driver-seat power height adjustment, interior wood grain trim, antilock brakes, remote keyless entry and 15-inch alloy wheels.

.Reasons for the thread is to give owners of this cars a better knowledge about what they drive.

.To also promote the spirit of DIY (do it yourself) and/or provide technical know how when such cars develop technical problems

.To make available a dependable database for Googlers on simple solutions to their accord/civic/Acura/Integra problems
