IslamRe: Ask Your Questions About Islam And Muslims Here. You Are Highly Welcome :) :) by ummsulaym(f): 9:17am On Nov 05, 2013
I don't know if this has been asked/answered before because I can't scroll up to find out(bear with me.)

Overview;
I've heard people say ''when I wake up in the morning, I pray(salat) before greeting anyone.'' I don't know if it's their desire to just make it so since fajr is early enough such that everyone's business will still be confined within the room(except the males who go to the masjid) till after fajr before we meet, then greetings exchanged... It's become so, so normal that I wonder if any islamic text has made it so. I find myself practicing this with all seriousness too(sometimes, I dulge my parents for this if I haven't prayed fajr)... I've been doing that till this morning when after waking up, I decided not to go back to bed since it was few minutes to 5 and soon, time for fajr but I don't know how I ended up sleeping and fajr was slipping. My mum came to my room and said ''Aren't you going for karatu(which is by 6:30)? Wake up and pray if you haven't because time is almost gone(it was pass 6).'' I stood up, looking at her and couldn't say 'goodmorning' cuz I haven't prayed fajr(she left though, without noticing.)

Now you get the full gist and hence, my question;
What does Islam(Qur'an and Hadith) says about this cuz I don't know why I am doing that?

#Thanks

Just replied usermane without even reading through the latest comments... We aren't @ loggerheads here and please, no one should make it look like we are...
And the brother who is memorizing @ hand, may Allah bestow upon you retentive memory, knowlege wisdom and understanding of IT and me too, cuz really, it's not being easy...

May Allah bestow His mercy upon the sincere seekers of salvation; guide us to the true path of Islam; to clarify for us the true meaning of shahada; and to protect us from the wispers of the accursed satan...

Dear brothers, sisters, readers and viewers, @ this juncture on this thread, from me to you all, it's assalamu aleikum.... *MASALAM*
IslamRe: How True Are Narrations Of Sahih Bukhari And Muslim? by ummsulaym(f):
Not every quote directed @ me I reply cuz on NL, I don't stress myself going deep to explain things except very necessary... Funny you bro cuz the comment you quoted wasn't even directed @ you... Let me reply one more time after which I may not...

usermane: Salaam
ummsulaym. We tend to clash often don't we? And it is because of the differences and beliefs. Am not a quraniyyun please. Am a muslim, a monotheist who accept the Qur'an as the sole and only message delivered from God through the final prophet; Muhammad. There are lots of evidences, proofs and verses from the Qur'an itself on why muslims should simply follow the Qur'an alone. So it is just too early to say am a misguided dude.
Oh yeah, we clash often and you already said why, so that's it. I smiled when I read ''am a muslim, a monotheist, not a quraniyyun''. That has fast became a national anthem muslims recite where 'I am not a quraniyyun' is replaced with 'I am not a shi'at(or sunni, sufist, Ahmadiyya et cetera')... That's what the lips say but we know who we really are in our hearts, right? YES!
Mr man, look here, we CANNOT follow only Qur'an. We all know it's the ONLY infallible book on earth but one thing is to know, another is to understand. If you follow only Qur'an, you might end up believing(wrongly) that muslim couples are allowed to go anal(shey, u get) in Qur'an 2:223 but -all Muslim jurists agree that anal sex is haram (prohibited), based on the hadith of the Prophet(peace and blessings be upon him). There are so many cases even more severe than this if you stand your Quraniyyun ground. All I can say here is *seek for knowledge* we all(esp. me) need it. Only Allah knows those who are guided, it's not mine to declare anyone, anything and please, don't make me guilty of that already...

usermane: Again, you said i fail to interprete the verses of Qur'an correctly, i disagree with that. Please point out a single verse i misinterpreted. Please go back to my last thread please and read the Op between the lines along with a translated copy of Qur'an beside you. After then, you are free to call me a criminal.
Now get this, I AM NOT GOING BACK TO YOUR THREAD. What for? Oh, to get pissed again? I will call you no criminal yet(cuz you still have breath in your nostrils). You seems to be scared of what some of us call 'Hadith ambiguities,' well bro, don't be. Open your heart, head, eyes and everything you can and declare to yourself 'A quest for the truth' and seek Allah's help and In Shaa Allah, you might get rid of those concocted beliefs...
I just listened to 'the reckoning' by Muhammad Abdul Jabbar. Permit me to quote this part of his lecture in his exact words :
'' He, S.A.W said that: ''the day of judgement will not come until people will follow the Qur'an and they will reject the Hadith.'' The Hadith he said is in Abu Dawood. Isn't this the case today? Because when you meet this brothers, who only follow the Qur'an and they say we don't believe in the Hadith, there is no such thing as the hadith and you tell them to offer salat, they will say; prove it to me from the Qur'an...''

so bro usermane, somethings I need to take easy and just see as signs of end time but all in all, daw'ah must continue. Mine is to convey the little I know but with Allah, lies Guidance...
I may clash with you often but we are no enemies to eachother... #waleikumus-salam

Logicbwoy: This is what happens when people live in isolation from others. When you live with non-muslims in the West, you will see the difference in applying secular laws to religion.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWbd3rFgey0
couldn't watch that cuz am on mobile, presently(will do, later)... Should I say thanks for the lecture or thanks for the advice... Guess I will have to start searching for non-muslims to live with(as if I don't have them around) so that I can learn and know the difference in applying secular laws to religion(since you sounded like, all am familiar with is the sharia)... If familiarity with 'secular' law is enough to justify Niqob removal, guess no lawyer would have been against it or aren't they familiar with it?
After watching that, if it's beneficial, I will come back to say thanks and if it's not, I say, meet you again on another thread...
One, Al-baqir/Al-qaim is definitely not brother Ali though I am a Shi'a (follower) of Ahl al-bayti Rasul.
Definitely, you two can't be same person but are members of same sect
"Are we all this Impossible?"
Though I don't know the brother you talked about but I bet he was never born or raised as a Shi'a. Same here! Conviction and conversion lead us to shi'ism.
I was neither born nor raised as a Sunni. Same here! Conviction, conversion, personal struggle and quest made me one and ofcourse, by the permission of Allah
How do you as a person feel when you discovered you've been lied to and spoon-fed for donkey years?
I will feel so bad... And now brother, that journey of LIES is what I hate embark upon again
How do you think Nabi Noah felt for propagating 'Islam' for almost 1000years yet not even his family (wife and son) accepted?
For preaching ISLAM for that numbers of year, yet not even my family accepted? I will feel so bad and unfulfilled but if what am preaching is not ISLAM, then I should be happy that no one accepted
What about the effort of the holy prophet (saws) in propagating Islam till Allah calm him down "...you cannot made them all to believe" "You are just a warner and a giver of glad-tiding"?
hmmm, my brother, Allah words are true o. Everyone cannot be made to believe because everyone, every sect, every religion has reasons and proves for justifying their beliefs.
Faith is all about conviction followed by Allah's Rahma to convert. This is because many know and realize the truth yet they never follow the path of truth. That is where Sincerity comes in. Albert Einstein met Ayatullah Burjadeh; and confirmed based on his research, Islam to be the best yet he died as a non-muslim. How many people in history like that!
very true brother. Back then in the missionary school, I had a dialogue with a friend about trinity using the bible which we were being taught. Do you know this girl confessed that she never believed in trinity? Her beliefs tallied with Islam and when I asked why she is still a christian, she told me she was born into it and want to die in it. Then, the words of Allah that 'no one can guide whom HE misguides and no one can misguide whom HE guides' came to my mind, so I let her be
Then usually Fear always play its part. Imagine what you've been practicing and vast majority believe its correct; then all of a sudden somebody come with "new" thing. Never easy to just follow like that.
Sometimes, it's fear while other times it's certainty... Like the sis I talked about above, is a pastor's daughter, you can imagine the fear(Astaghfirullah if am wrong)... I am not living for any man neither is my death or judgement by any mortal. To cap it all, if and if only that 'new' thing can be proven right beyound all doubt, then #team-new I am
Allah reveal that on the day of Judgment many will bring a filthy excuse once their foot have been set to fire : "...Our Lord this is what we find our fore-fathers doing, then we follow them".
This verse of the Qur'an made me appreciate sunnism the more cuz no fore-fathers followed but Rasulillah SAW
Even christians, Idol-worshipers, atheist etc are contended with their beliefs. Sincerity, thorough research, hunger for truth, opening of heart (and not being blind by the love of a personality(s)) , good judgment (not being one sided),prayer for guidance and Allah's Rahma are some of the factors that can change one's heart.
A thousand likes cuz that's very true
Despite the fact that I know its not easy to change people, my fear has always been( esp if the person doesn't make any move), those "new things or words" that's newly being introduced to him could be against him on the day of Judgment. Thereby, a preacher get the motivation and feeling of 'let me try again, perhaps I didn't speak well before!'
Another words of haqq!
It also found when a man propose to a woman and she's yet to accept. Lol.
Now, that's funny and it got me smiling. Lol
I don't know if your question is being answered. If not pls do not hesitate to elaborate.
very well, it was
May Allah guide our heart aright to His straight path.
Ameen kun faya kun, Allahuma Ameen
Many thanks. Salam
More thanks. Wsalam

Well, I haven't read or heard of any Islamic ruling for a case like hers... My comment is what I think should be since there are lawyers who are also against it(more like her face mustn't be uncovered after all)... Even if there are fatwas that say she can, it's not that easy for the nocobi to just take it off like that... You wont understand this but the feeling is like you being asked to appear unclad, head to feet before crowd...

you must not be a non-muslim to be against nicob.... Worse is some 'muslims' are against hijab, what will those sects(not like an islamic sect o) of muslims now say of nicobhuh Well, one of the answers to your question lies in ur post and that is ''asking her to remove it is a breach of her human rights''... babylolaroy: now to usermane's matter....he is NOT a muslim. he is a non muslim and he doesnt say well at all. i dont even like his contributions. He tries always to bring up confusions
usermane sounds like some kind of Quraniyya guy(or brohuh), just that he ends up not presenting even the Qur'an well again(now, that's a double fault)... He needs admonishment, explanation and so on... I surrendered being harsh on him cuz harsh is not gonna work... I feel for him though(just like I feel for myself too)... May Allah guide us
Hmmm...sometimes people will piss you off. Its part of being human but we are muslims. We follow the best of all mankind (Sayyidul Bashar) and we need to exercise this.
May Allah fill your face with His peace and glory amidst all trouble. What a concern sister. Ma sha Allah.
That (especially the bolded) sounds like it's from bro Ali who is also a shiat-Ali(off NL)... He is a good brother from another sect...

But sectarianism aside, bro Al-qaim/Al-baqir, are you all this 'impossible?' why I ask is that bro Ali has been known for a year, he keeps telling me this same thing you people post on NL and I keep saying I've heard and I appreciate... When next we meet, he will explain all over again. Even with annoying points, I endure to listen(my weakness), yet he didn't stop and same, I didn't complain... Just last month he got angry and said ''the hardest people to change are people like you'' so me too con vex small... Last last, he said if he couldn't do it, he believe someone else will cuz he can't stand me dieing with my present beliefs, so I just told him I pray he doesn't die with his present beliefs too but I can stand it cuz his judgement is not mine... Now I ask again, why being so impossible?

RomanceRe: Guys Don't Like Dating 'born-Again’ Ladies: Why by ummsulaym(f):
djeezy: Is this a thread to bash born again ladies? Op, I do not agree with all you have written above but some points are sorta valid to some extent. I believe everybody is attractive to somebody. We live in a world where virtues are frowned at. Those who follow the crowd usually get lost in it. We have born again ladies who get marriage proposals. Op is simply referring to the extremists .
conc points bolded...
The OP wasn't totally wrong though but he overgeneralized it... Aside spiritual matters, even in academics, career and other matters, some people's passion are more than others in whatever they choose to do... That's individual differences... In everything, we have people who are rooted, shallow, and in between... The rooted should be applauded but the reverse is the case in this century... Even though i will advice moderation, I still don't think 'one leg in and one leg out' is good enough not to talk of two legs out...
Nice post anyways, just 'overgeneralized' cuz not all the 'born again' as u call them are like that...

Austeenx: You don't expect anybody with Brazilian hair to put on Hijab, do you?

Hijab is for poor African Muslim women. tongue grin
For external adornment, read what the bible says;
1 Peter 3:3-4
Do not let your adorning be external —the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious.

Covering of the head;
1 Corinthians 11:6
If a woman does not cover her head, she should have her hair cut off; and it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut or shaved off, she should cover her head.

And please, do not give me the crap of 'holiness is at heart,' ofcourse, we know action is according to intention but a holy heart cannot reflect otherwise on the body. After all, the bible said:
1 Corinthians 6:19
Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own.

If truly those who wear veils should be called 'poor', then verilly, you have insulted Mother Mary(the mother of your god), and ofcourse, all the reverend sisters and nun...

Am I asking for too much by saying ''free me to obey my GOD?''... Haba!!!

Bpriest: ^^^ You gotta love the spirit. I like Muslim girls because they are submissive and always want to please their husbands.
Haba, this is no matter of submission but 'one wife' to justify infidelity as okija_juju said

Talking of submission, read what am told in:
Ephesians 5:22-24
Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands.

1 Peter 3:5
For this is how the holy women who hoped in God used to adorn themselves, by submitting to their own husbands.

Ephesians 5:22
Wives, submit to your own husbands , as to the Lord.

We all want our man to ourselves(no doubt), but with infidelity in question, my brother, safe guarding my husband's faith becomes priority.
PEACE!!!
I told my wife the only way I would not forgive her is if she sleeps with a person that is lesser than me 'generally'.. Sex is not the problem, love is.

A prostitute has a partner she loves dearly. But she sleeps with men for money. Sex not love. My wife has said it that her greatest fear isnt that I would cheat on her sexually, but that I would cheat on her emotionally..

Plus! My wifes bosses are women. Her male boss that I know, I will forgive her instantly becuase if I was a girl, I would f|uck him as well.. grin

Infidelity is not the worst thing in a marriage.

Ask those muslim women.. They would rather have their homes all to themselves and have a husband that f|ucks around, rather than share their home, husband and everything with 4 - 20 other women.
@first bolded, maybe not the worst but one of the worst things... I doubt if I can forgive my man for that(may Allah distant us from infidelity)...

@second bolded, better agreed upon if you had typed women and not 'muslim' women... As much as I'd want my man to myself(not shared), I wouldn't mind 3 more rivals if infidelity becomes an option... Women are possessive of their men(ofcourse, we should be) but a muslim woman should not put her husband's aqeeda in jeopardy because of her emotions...
IslamRe: Is It Permissible To Close Your Eyes During Solat? by ummsulaym(f): 10:36am On Oct 31, 2013
for my sake, I hope it's permitted for as long as one wishes to because I am always thinking(I can't help this) and what I resort to whenever the wispering of shaytaan is taking over is shut my eyes and open my heart to HIM... That's what works for me
FamilyRe: Husband Insist I Must Take Care Of His Mother by ummsulaym(f):
Wow! I consider that as an offer because I love the company of old(either very or almost) people...
Back to OP, I am of the opinion that you agree with him... Considering the fact that I don't know who you are, I will also advice that when she finally moves in(if you approve of it), you should be gentle in dealing with her... I am always in the company of old people and they could be very annoying and they tend to complain over little things, don't just worry and smile it over... Give her ears, disagree with her reasonably, make her opinion counts(even if it doesn't) and so on but know that there will be good and bad times(but do not hold grudges)... The relationship between you and her can make(strenghten) or mar your relationship with you man so, be very careful...
You are going to love her and she, love you if you know the right buttons to press...

But dear, if you aren't very good @ relating with people of her age group, I will advice you respectfully disagree(with concrete reason) with your man... You've been married to him and he should understand you if you say NO.... All the best!!!

I study people for a long time before I can say one or two things about them because of my hatred for being judged and judging people especially wrongly... I take my time to think and analyze...
A bit new on NL and one person came to mind cuz she is easy to read but hard to understand and that is DEOLS
************************************
she is self composed, argumentative and persuasive, react strongly to both blame and praises, she is not satisfied with 'ordinary', emotional but not freely expressed(except anger*lol*), she is ambitious and aspire to great things even in spiritual(religious) matters, very insistent(can listen to you but her decision prevails), strong will(not easily frightened), intelligent and very passionate about things she chooses to do, bold to express herself before any group(especially if she has a strong view), it's win or die cuz loosing isn't an option for her.

She may not agree with this but I think she is full of herself, very stubborn and opinionated, domineering and eeerrrm, she has considerable zeal for perfection...

She is who I call a 'strong Leader' cuz her head rules over her heart(she needs to balance that anyways)...
If am to classify her under the four major teperaments, I will class her 'Choleric'...

Am not good at creating mental picture of people's look(maybe cuz I care not much about look but personality) but all I can say is she is chocolate in complexion and someone I will call tall(height above average)...
