Car TalkRe: How Avoid Police Extortion And Harassment On The Highway by Uncleodi(m): 11:56am On Sep 18, 2021
soloehis:
It is saddened when I read how Nigerian security agents extort and harass motorist on the highway over car registration issues that could be avoided. Do the following you will never be harrassed again.

1. Make sure your car documents are up to date. Eg.
Drivers licence and your car particulars.

2. Be Polite when ever you are been stopped...greet them with smiles on your face when an officer tries to intimidate you try to keep ur cool and stand by your right...don't show any sign of fear. Try as much as possible to be calm.

3. Check the validation of your plate number on FRSC data base. https://nvis.frsc.gov.ng/VehicleManagement/VerifyPlateNo . Enter your plate number..it will display the make of your car, color of your car as it is on your paper. If your plate number is valid and yet to be assigned it means your documents was not uploaded...go to any licencing office with your car particulars they will upload it with a token not more than 1k. Depends on your approach.

4. Be sure your particulars are authentic. To be sure Check your vehicle licence here just enter ur plate number it will display the expiry date of ur paper..abuja registration has not been updated on the site..I don't know why is like that..https://verify.autoreg.ng/.

5. After you have confirmed all and an officer still tries to Harrass you..be calm, don't be afraid to follow them to their station. When you get to their station quietly call Inspector General monitoring Unit 08036242591 and lodge your complaint..they will quickly let you off their hook.

Knowledge is power when used wisely..

PoliticsRe: Southern Governors Declare Support For States To Collect VAT by Uncleodi(m): 10:11pm On Sep 16, 2021
Ibkhaleel001:
My 5 Takeaways from the VAT debate
For me, every situation provides a learning opportunity. The issues thrown up by the VAT debate have helped me to know what I didn't know before now.
Here are my takeaways or what I have learnt so far.
1. Headquarters Effect: I have never heard the phrase before. Now, I know what this means, thanks to the tax experts who have educated us on why Lagos holds the diadem as the biggest contributor to VAT revenue. Companies that have their Headquarters in Lagos with operations across the country remit all VAT collections through their head office in Lagos. A chunk of what is collected as VAT in Lagos are activities that took place outside Lagos. Revealing!

2. Derivation Principle: Like oil producing states that enjoy 13% derivation from proceed of oil production, 36 states plus FCT also enjoy 20% derivation from VAT proceeds before equality of states and population are factored into sharing formula. So, the oil producing states are not the only states enjoying derivation. Great to know!

3. VAT on Agricultural produce: By deliberate design of the Federal Government, VAT is not charged on some agricultural products to make food cheap and affordable. Pity!

4. Father Xmas FG: More than 50% of the VAT revenues are from imports via Customs, Port Authority and Federal government contracts across MDAs. The Federal government just collects its own money, take 15% and share 85% of total sum to states and local government. Plenty free lunch in Freetown still!

5. Ethnic Baiting Works: If you want to provoke popular sentiments to win support for any self-serving agenda in Nigeria, you don't need to be imaginative. Just say there is 'injustice' in Nigeria and that the resources of one part of the country is used to prop up the other part. Wait to see people whose states are sponging off Federal largese become emergency placard-carrying freedom fighters. Pathetic!

Anyway, make people calm down. Running a country is different from running a business. No part of Nigeria is useless. Every part is doing their bit. We only need to produce more and charge appropriate taxes across board. There's no parasite in this country only if you remove your bigotry glasses...
You have spoken well

Of course I am older than them and not their spec- thankfully so!

What exactly would I be doing with younglings that wear pencil jeans, graphic tees, earrings and cross-bags. Guys that hop into their ES 330 and start blasting Zlatan and Naira Marley’s music while driving like retards. Guys that give themselves nicknames like Splash-Money and Izu-Wire-Wire. Guys that sleep knowing someone is crying, maybe dead because of their actions. Guys that spend their lives evading and settling law enforcement agencies.

You mean I should be angry that these sets of guys do not find me desirable? I do hope your partner uses protection to knack you. This level of shallowness can easily pass for an STI.

FamilyRe: Older Nigerian Men How Did You Survive Nigeria In Your 20s by Uncleodi(m):
crackhaus:
No matter how you look at it, they had it so much better... Waayyy better.
Nothing depressing about it.

Yes they lived through the military era and saw firsthand what that was like, but it was still a better deal than what we have now.

Nigeria/Nigerians didn't have such a bad rep in the eyes of the world back then.

And who told you there were no jobs?

Just having a university degree guaranteed you a job without the need for man-know-man or bribing your way into federal agencies.
My dad with his University of Ibadan 2'2 degree didn't stay without work for up to 3 months after serving – got a really good job for that matter.

Nigerians could travel easier back then and even though the standard of living wasn't all that high, things were affordable in comparison.
Today, the standard of living is low (even lower if we're being honest), yet commodities aren't that affordable.

The internet age, satellite TV, and advent of mobile devices which ushered in the era of remote jobs and internet-based sources of income, also came with the introduction of make-believe lifestyles from watching reality shows like MTV cribs, KUWTK, etc...
Young Nigerians became obsessed with living wealthy lifestyles and acquiring expensive things (even when unnecessary).

Please there's no comparison to be made...

Older Nigerians definitely had a much better Nigeria than we do now. It wasn't heaven then, but it still wasn't as hellish as it is now.
People actually lived in Nigeria back then, but what people are doing now is surviving – there's a big difference.

I can't even take my car to a random mechanic to fix for me because they will bill me like a yahoo boy. lipsrsealed
Internet fraudsters who don't mind paying whatever price they're told to pay for anything, have succeeded in contributing to inflation.

All those overpriced estates in places like Lekki built on top of reclaimed land that is just hoping/praying the sea doesn't develop mood swing, do you think if they were not seeing people to buy them, they won't drop the prices?

My brother, the overall mentality of Nigerians is very different now from what it was then.

Although it's not that the country was European-standard for older Nigerians back in the day, but contentment seemed to be more prevalent as people were okay with just having the basics/having just what was necessary.

I have a lot more I could type on this topic, but I've exceeded my social media allocated time for today. grin
You made a great point.

In addition, the general security was better than what it is now. I could travel alone in my secondary school days without fear of being kidnapped.

Although there were a few vices like the Otokoto saga in Owerri back then and money rituals in Anambara back then, but the Hausas and the Igbos were living fairly in harmony.

Economically, things were so hard during Abacha. My mum had to cook our meals with Abacha-Stove stuffed with sawdust as it was cheaper than kerosene Stove (who was even talking of gas cooker).

Street football was what we used to pass time, especially after junior WAEC.

For the families that owned a 504 vehicle, they were seen as high class.

Nissan Bluebird was about 70k in 1993 during Abacha's regime. That car is no longer in production today.

We also engaged in agriculture for fun, we planted vegetables, yam, maize and cassava and we would make fun among our siblings those whose farm produce were not optimal.

Most importantly, we looked forward to 4pm when NTA will open for operation for the day with the rainbow colour screen and a loud "puuuu" sound that would be followed shortly by the national antem. We would watch tales by moon light, casper the friendly ghost, wili-wili and the likes before we go to help our mum to make dinner.

Letter writing was the popular form of communication and people could write well in English without the now popular abbreviations commonly used by the Gen-Zee.

Women dressed more decently, teenage pregnancy was greatly condemned both by the society and the religious bodies.

Healthcare was quite affordable even though there were fewer doctors and hospitals, unlike we have now.

There are a lot to write but time wouldn't permit me.

This man in question is a cool headed gentle man, easy going in the estate and doesn't deserve this kind of trouble and heart wenching action the woman is taking him through, I don't preay he finds out and I need help on how to tell the woman to stop doing this and at the same time I don't want their marriage to crash....

After knacking, this woman goes to her shop and pretends as if nothing happens.....
Don't ever tell her, if not she will come for you.

Just gather evidence and show the husband.

hisexcellency34:
God bless the manufacturer of Aboniki Balm. The person deserves a national award

Been battling a chronic waist pain for the past few weeks. I couldn't bend or do other things and I feel excruciating pain a lot.
I have used lots of medications, including the ones given to me by my company's HMO all to no avail.

Yesterday a friend of mine who noticed my condition suggested Aboniki balm. At first I rejected the idea because of the way people complain about the peppery way Aboniki feels after rubbing on their body.

I later had a second thought and I bought it at a shop opposite my house for N500. Five minutes after application, the pain eased and I was able to bend my back.. Something I couldn't do for many days. Aboniki rescued me from waist pain.
Please, what is your current age?

If you are above 50, you may need to get your prostate checked in the hospital. Alot of ailments can mask under waist pain.

Thank God you are better now, but still go for Comprehensive medical check

Good day house.
Please i need your help.
About 10 years ago i started feeling some slight headache and heaviness on my head.
This continued to increase.
I thought it was inside my head.
I went to the hospital severally and did several test, but they saw nothing.
Just some few weeks ago i observed it was actually my scalp that is folding and growing heavy as you can see in the pictures.
Please,what could be causing this?
What can i do to stop and reverse this.
It's causing me heaviness and pains.
You have a condition called cutis verticis gyrata.

Cutis verticis gyrata (CVG), also known by the name paquidermia verticis gyrata, cutis verticis plicata, and "bulldog" scalp syndrome, is a rare benign cutaneous disorder that is characterized by convoluted folds and deep furrows of the scalp that mimic cerebral sulci and gyri.

It is not often treated. Good hygiene is advised to reduce accumulation of germs within the crevices.

FamilyRe: Which Is Easier To Raise, Male Child Or Female Child? by Uncleodi(m): 5:45am On Sep 05, 2021
Authority1o1:
Okay...

None. Same easiness, same difficulty.

Most people are probably afraid of having a girl child. They have seen how wasted and prodigal some of them are, at least; getting to straff a million of them who you can easily pick at random, vixening naked for the camera without morality, crowning the heads of their parents with shame by getting pregnant before marriage and so on. Most people know this firsthand, because they contribute in making these true.

Raising boys on the other hand is very tasking. They are only yielding until the age of say, 12. Then headiness stroll in. Gradually. They begin to talk back at 15. They commence the eating of the Forbidden Fruit at 17 or 18. Smoking and substance abuse crawl in. They take to partying, clubbing and other unspeakable immoralities. You're probably tired of chastening them. You are probably not happy at this extent. You think you have failed as parents.

Of course, you failed. Stereotypes did the parenting for you. You thought it was less painstaking to raise a boy child than the counterpart. You feel you have been swindled, maybe. You didn't do what you should have done as a parent.

A boy would be as useless as a poorly trained girl. A girl would be as useful as a well-raised boy.
You are very right
