Family › Re: Help, I'm An Alcoholic! by Unconquerable: 5:22am On Jul 23, 2019 |
gracegrace668: Hello everyone. Please, I'm not a newbie on NL. I opened this account to protect my identity.
I never thought I'd use this word to ever describe myself. Sadly, I am an alcoholic. It has taken me a great deal of embarrassment and pain to finally come to this conclusion.
I'm a female in my early 20's. One of the first things people comment on when we have a conversation is how intelligent I am. Good enough, I fair well academically and have done so for as long as I can remember. There is this dark side of me however. I am an alcohol addict.
I've read about my condition, especially at times when I swear I would never indulge in excessive drinking anymore. A person like me is called a functioning alcoholic. I started drinking as a way to forget some emotional and troubles but as I see, this in no way helps especially longterm.
I drink everything from wine, spirits to liquor. I go out with friends that drink. I go out to drink alone. I buy some alcohol to drink at home. I go from laying on the bed to walking out to buy alcohol. I just drink, drink and drink. I'm very ashamed of this. Sincerely, I want to stop. I want to make more meaningful decisions and relationships.
Please, how do I go about this? What can I do? Is there someone/a Group that helps with this kind of condition? Please help me.
Please help me move this to the permanent site. I'll be reading for suggestions. The greatest physician and rehabilitator, Jesus the Son of God has the power to free you. He says, Come to me all you that are heavy laden and I will give you rest. His medication is free: the only price is a broken spirit and hunger to be set free, which you seem to possess. Don't go to any preacher: call on Him yourself and you will see what will happen. It is well with you and this bondage shall come to pass. |

NwaAmaikpe:

This FFK's post has got me thinking. In the mid 60s, Ahmadu Bello was the father of the North, Awolowo was the father of the West and Azikiwe was the father of the East.
Now, if Buhari is the father of all the North, Tinubu the father of the SouthWest, Jonathan the father of the SouthSouth, who is the father of the South East then? Sometimes it's better not to have a father than a father like yours. At least God says He is Father of the fatherless and it doesn't get bigger or better than that. |

Japanese are among the most disciplined people in the world. The only country without a ghetto. They keep to their word and are really transparent. The average Nigerian sees being crookish as being smart. In Tokyo they stopped leasing most of the major event centers to Nigerians because they rarely comply to basic instructions. I really respect Nihon. |

yerokunphilips: When a man wake up ,pray that your di*k won't lead you to your destruction . Nothing on earth brings a man down fast as women .Ask the first man (Adam ) nothing turn a man of power and influence to element of shame and reproach like women ask the strongest man in his generation (Samson ) Nothing ends a man dream and aspiration like women asked the most heartless ,cruel and wicked military head of state in Nigeria ( Sani) .LORD HELP ME SO MY DI*K WON'T DESTROY EVERYTHING HAVE LABOURED FOR ." OLUWA MAJE KI OKO MI KOBA MI " Some of what you said is true but need I tell you that the greatest thing that brings any man down, especially in the house of God is not sexual sin but Pride. Scripture does not say God resists the fornicator or adulterer but the Proud. Satan, the greatest of all sinners was banished from heaven not because of sexual sin but pride. Pride blinds you to your flaws: makes you believe you are very high up there: invincible. If someone is humble enough to acknowledge their sexual weakness the reality of the situation will take them to the Throne of Grace and ask for help. God says He gives His power to the faint and to those who have no might He increases their strength. Paul knew this when he cried out in Rom. 7 because of his propensity to sin. He knew he was helpless and Christ gave him victory. He went on to become the greatest Christian to proclaim the name of Jesus. If people will humble themselves before God with their weaknesses; be it lust or whatever, God will give them grace to overcome, coupled with their hunger for righteousness. A broken reed He will never cast away but the self righteous and proud He rejects. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Where And How Do Join Occult To Be Rich And For Money Making In Ghana, Nigeria by Unconquerable: 8:37pm On Jun 29, 2019 |
Do you really think you or anyone else need to join such organizations to be rich? More so, being rich is relative: why would you cause yourself unnecessary pain because of transient riches that won't be able to save you when death comes knocking? Religious leaders, whom you mentioned really do not have the final say in this matter: only Jesus does and He states emphatically that a man's life is not judged by his possessions. Work hard and smart and I assure you at the end of the day you will be able to provide yourself and your family the basic and necessary needs of life. Any other thing is tantamount to walking into a snake pit. |

This is unusual of the chest beaters. I thought the biafra thing was a serious movement not until I got to see things for myself in the east. The agitation is only on Facebook, no one here has time for protests.
